The SiriusXM and Shade45 community announced the passing of afternoon host DJ Lord Sear. He passed away at the age of 52.
From 12pm til 4pm, you would listen to Lord Sear host his afternoon program on Shade45. The Lord Sear Special will continue until a new host is announced.
Sear has died, SiriusXM confirmed on Wednesday, March 11. He was 52.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Lord Sear. He was more than a voice on the radio — he was a force, a friend, and family to so many of us," the caption of a tribute post on Sears' Instagram page reads. "Lord Sear's legacy in hip hop runs deep."
No further details were shared.
Sear established a legacy for himself, tracing back to his involvement with the group Kurious in the 1990s and with the underground hip-hop radio show, "The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show." He also toured the world on Eminem's Anger Management Tour, which ran sporadically in the early 2000s.
He lent his voice to the fictional Game FM station in the "Grand Theft Auto III" video games, and can be heard in the intro to Big Pun's 2000 album "Yeeeah Baby," according to Billboard.

Steve Wilkos, a former Chicago Police sergeant turned media personality and talk show host was the famed bodyguard of Jerry Springer. He often would guest host The Jerry Springer Show when Jerry was doing other shows and projects.
NBCUniversal loved how he handled the show, they greenlit a spinoff talk show but without the sideshow.
The Steve Wilkos Show which launched in 2007 is officially cancelled and will finish its season in nearly 20 years to the launch.
This comes on the heels of NBCUniversal canceling The Kelly Clarkson Show, Access Hollywood and Karamo.
The conglomerate is ending all syndicated programing.

Talk shows “Karamo” and “The Steve Wilkos Show,” produced out of NBC's facility in Stamford, Conn., are also shutting down. The programs have already completed their production for the season and will run through the summer.
NBC previously announced that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is also ending later this year after seven seasons.

A Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchisee that operates more than 130 locations filed for bankruptcy to rightsize itself after facing mounting debt.
Sailormen Inc., a Miami-based franchisee that operates locations in Florida and Georgia, filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida, according to its legal counsel.
The company, represented by Cole Schotz, is attempting to renegotiate or resolve the $129 million that it owes to lenders so it can emerge as a healthier franchisee.
The company blamed "various macroeconomic factors" for disrupting the business and forcing it to file for bankruptcy protection.
"Those factors include, among others, the national impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on restaurant operations, consumer choice, high inflation, increased borrowing rates and an increasingly limited qualified labor force," according to the court documents.
Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen Inc. is a subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International (RBI), which acquired the chain in 2017. But the majority of Popeyes locations are owned and operated by franchisees.
FOX Business reached out to Schotz and Restaurant Brands International for comment.
This comes amid a string of eateries that have filed for bankruptcy in recent years. In fact, bankruptcy attorney Daniel Gielchinsky projected last year that a growing number of major restaurant chains will likely continue to file for bankruptcy protection over the coming years as the industry struggles to manage the heavy debt it accumulated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Restaurants that exist today may not exist in five years. They'll be off the map," Gielchinsky told FOX Business in February 2025. Additionally, consumers will "see a lot of restaurants with a decreased footprint," he added.
Several factors led to their downfall, according to Gielchinsky, founder and partner of South Florida-based DGIM Law. However, the COVID-19 pandemic was the catalyst, as the industry saw traffic decline significantly.
Operators wanted to keep their doors open, so they had to cover costs like rent, insurance and payroll, even though customers weren’t coming in. To stay afloat, restaurants relied on government subsidies but also took out loans to fund business expenses. This meant that companies accumulated debt that they had to pay back over time plus interest.

Iran downed a U.S. fueling plane over Iraq. The U.S. military says a KC-135 refueling aircraft supporting operations against Iran crashed in western Iraq, killing four of its six crew members.
The U.S. Central Command, which oversees the Middle East, said the crash followed an unspecified incident involving two aircraft in “friendly airspace,” and that the other plane landed safely.
Here’s what is known so far about the tanker, which is the fourth publicly acknowledged U.S. aircraft to crash during the war against Iran:
The KC-135 is a long-serving tanker plane
The KC-135 Stratotanker is a U.S. Air Force aircraft used to refuel other planes in midair, allowing them to travel longer distances and maintain operations longer without landing. The plane is also used to transport wounded personnel during medical evacuations or conduct surveillance missions, according to military experts.
Based on the same design as the Boeing 707 passenger plane, the tanker has been in service for more than 60 years, supporting the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps as well as allied aircraft, according to an Air Force description. The aging plane is set to be gradually phased out as more of the next-generation KC-46A Pegasus tankers enter service.
Despite upgrades over the years, the KC-135s’ age has fueled concern about their reliability and durability.
“The last of these planes were produced in the 1960s,” said Yang Uk, a security expert at South Korea’s Asan Institute for Policy Studies. He added that the transition to the KC-46A has progressed more slowly than expected.

According to the Congressional Research Service, the Air Force last year had 376 KC-135s, including 151 on active duty, 163 in the Air National Guard and 62 in the Air Force Reserve.
A basic KC-135 crew has three people: a pilot, co-pilot and boom operator. Nurses and medical technicians are added in aeromedical evacuation missions.
Refueling typically happens at the back of the plane, where the boom operator is located. A fuel boom is lowered to connect with fighters, bombers or other aircraft. On many of the planes, the boom operator works lying face down while looking out of a window on the underside of the plane.
Cause of crash and condition of crew not immediately known
The U.S. Central Command said four of the six crewmembers on board the crashed KC-135 have been confirmed dead and that rescue efforts are continuing. It said the circumstances of the crash are under investigation but that the loss of the aircraft was “not due to hostile or friendly fire.”
A U.S. official, who also spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the developing situation, said the other plane involved was also a KC-135. Yechiel Leiter, the Israeli ambassador to the U.S., wrote on X that the other plane landed safely in Israel.
Yang said it would be rare for a refueling tanker to be downed by enemy fire because such operations are usually conducted in the rear of combat zones.
The crash came after three U.S. F-15E fighter jets were mistakenly downed last week by friendly Kuwaiti fire.
Past accidents
KC-135s have previously been involved in several fatal accidents. The most recent occurred on May 3, 2013, when a KC-135R crashed after takeoff south of Chaldovar, Kyrgyzstan, while supporting the war in Afghanistan.
In that crash, the crew experienced problems with the plane’s rudder, according to a U.S. Air Force investigation. While they struggled to stabilize the plane, the tail section broke away and the plane exploded midair, killing all three crewmembers onboard.
The most serious mid-air collision involving the plane happened in 1966, when a B-52 bomber carrying nuclear bombs struck a tanker near Palomares, Spain.
The accident caused the tanker to crash, killing four onboard. The disaster led to an extensive decontamination effort to clean up nuclear material dispersed when conventional explosives in the hydrogen bombs detonated after hitting the ground.

President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Gov. Abigail Spanberger, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), U.S. House members, Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and the Anti-Semitism Task Force Director Leo Terrell will react to the mass shooting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Israel and the United States killed Iran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. His death inflamed the Arab and Afrian nations. The suspect was a Sierra Leoran American who probably lost it seeing this apartheid genocidal ethnostate kill innocent girls.
A former Army National Guard member who had spent eight years in prison for attempting to aid the Islamic State opened fire on a classroom at Virginia’s Old Dominion University on Thursday before ROTC students subdued and killed him, authorities said.
He had yelled “Allahu Akbar” before the shooting, which left one person dead and two wounded, according to the FBI.
Suspect served in the U.S. Armed Forces. He was naturalized from Sierra Leone.
Dominique Evans, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Norfolk field office, said at a news conference that the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps students showed “extreme bravery and courage” and prevented further loss of life by stopping the gunman, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh.
The students subdued him and “rendered him no longer alive,” Evans said. “I don’t know how else to say it.” She confirmed Jalloh wasn’t shot but didn’t provide further details.
The campus shooting is being investigated as an act of terrorism, FBI Director Kash Patel said on social media.
Background on the gunman
Evans said Jalloh aspired to conduct a terrorist attack like the 2009 killings at Fort Hood.
Jalloh had pleaded guilty in 2016 to attempting to aid the Islamic State and was sentenced to 11 years in prison. He was released from federal custody in December 2024.
Ashraf Nubani, a Virginia attorney who represented Jalloh in his 2016 criminal case, said in a statement that he’d had no recent contact with Jalloh and had no information about Thursday’s events. “Any loss of life is tragic, and violence against innocent people is completely contrary to Islamic teachings and basic human morality,” Nubani added.
Jalloh’s sister, Fatmatu Jalloh of Sterling, Virginia, said Thursday she knew nothing about the attack. She said she last saw her brother two days earlier.
“I have no idea what is going on,” she said. “I know nothing. I don’t even know who to call.”
Shooter confirmed dead within 10 minutes of call
Old Dominion University Police Chief Garrett Shelton said less than 10 minutes passed between when officers were called about a shooting in the university’s business school building and when responders determined the shooter was dead.
Shelton said authorities hadn’t yet fully determined the shooter’s cause of death. He did not confirm whether any officers fired a weapon.
Lt. Col. Jimmy Delongchamp, public information officer for the U.S. Army Cadet Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky, told The Associated Press that two of the people who were shot were part of the Army ROTC at ODU.
ROTC is a program where students receive a scholarship to attend college while training to become commissioned officers in the U.S. military. They are committed to serve as an officer for a period of time after they graduate.
Voorhees University in South Carolina confirmed the victim who died was Lt. Col. Brandon Shah, the son-in-law of a Voorhees trustee.
Shah attended ODU as an ROTC student, according to his biography on the university’s website, and had returned in 2022 as a leader for the program. In the Army, Shah had flown helicopters over Iraq, Afghanistan and Eastern Europe as a pilot.
Shooter’s Guard service and Islamic State ties
Jalloh is a naturalized U.S. citizen from Sierra Leone.
The Virginia Army National Guard confirmed he served as a specialist from 2009 until 2015, when he was honorably discharged.
According to a 2016 FBI affidavit filed in his criminal case, Jalloh told a government informant he quit the National Guard after hearing lectures from radical cleric Anwar al-Awlaki.
A court affidavit recounts a three-month sting operation in which Jalloh, then 26, said he was thinking about carrying out an attack similar to the 2009 shootings at Fort Hood, which left 13 people dead. Authorities launched the 2016 operation after Jalloh made contact with Islamic State members in Africa earlier that year.
Jalloh later told the informant that the Islamic State group had asked if he wanted to participate in an attack. He tried to donate $500 to the Islamic State, but the money actually went to an account controlled by the FBI, according to court documents.
America continues on.
Jalloh then tried to buy an AR-15 assault rifle from a Virginia gun store but was turned away because he lacked the proper paperwork. He returned the next day and bought a different assault rifle that was rendered inoperable before he left the store, prosecutors said. He was arrested the following day.
The Justice Department in 2017 requested a 20-year prison sentence for Jalloh, noting that he had attempted to acquire a gun to carry out a murder plot in the United States. Jalloh’s lawyers requested a 6½-year prison sentence and placement in a facility with residential drug abuse treatment.
“By putting the idea of this murder plot into religious terms, and by suggesting that murdering members of the US military would be a path to heaven, the defendant showed how strongly committed he was to the deadly ideology of the Islamic State,” prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum.
U.S. District Judge Liam O’Grady, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, sentenced him instead to 11 years in prison with credit for time served and five years of supervised release. He also ordered Jalloh to participate in programs for substance abuse and mental health treatment. Based on his release date, he would have been under supervised release until 2029.
Inmates convicted of terrorism-related offenses are not eligible to reduce their sentences for good behavior or participation in a residential drug abuse treatment program.
America, we got a gun violence problem.
In a letter to O’Grady prior to his sentencing, Jalloh wrote that he started using drugs after his girlfriend ended their six-year relationship.
“I feel deep regret in having been driven by my emotions rather than my intellect and becoming involved with such an evil organization,” he said. “I reject and deplore terrorism and any groups associated with it, especially ISIL.”
People wounded in the shooting
One of the people who was hospitalized after the shooting is in critical condition Thursday, according to Sentara Health. The other had been treated and released.
The public university in Norfolk canceled classes and suspended operations on its main campus through Friday.
In a message to the university community, ODU President Brian Hemphill expressed gratitude for the swift emergency response and extended his thoughts and prayers to those impacted.
The school in coastal Norfolk has about 24,000 students and says nearly 30% of its students are military-affiliated. The area is also home to Naval Station Norfolk, the largest naval station in the world.
The status quo politics of "can't do nothing" or "now is not the time."
On average there are two mass shootings a day now. It never stops.

The person with easy access to firearms should be the only answer. Alas, the far right is hoping for this to be a person they can scapegoat as their next de jour of outrage. Anyone can get firearm in the United States. Even, people who are non U.S. citizens are allowed to obtain firearms.
The real issue is not just guns, it's white men, white women tears and white boys. They are losing their goddamn minds. Inspired by loneliness, politics, job loss, social media trends, endless perceptions of others, the lack of opportunities (besides joining the military) and the need to be ahead of everyone else is what drives these fools to commit endless chaos.
If the suspect is white, they will give the shooter a glaring profile. If the suspect is not white, expect the far right to claim its the left or accused a certain nationality, race, religion or sexuality the cause of mass shootings.
White privilege also santizes the white shooters. Already we are getting details of the mass shooters. Glaring profiles of these white mass shooters to paint them as unfortunate circumstances. Ignoring the fact, these terrorists had signs of potential danger but their families thought it was just noise.
Well the military does make people experience PTSD.
That restraining order doesn't mean much to a deranged individual. It's a trigger!

How can a piece of paper protect a victim when it's not reliant on stopping the perpetrator (from causing harm)?

Muslim shooters are terrorists who should be surveiled or deported. Hispanic and Asian shooters are illegal immigrants and they should be deported. According to the far right, almost all white [or non-white] mass shooters are registered Democrats [leftist or some progressive activist] because they have liked or done one thing common to the politics of the left. Of course, they often share or post disinformation by using the ridiculous "Sam Hyde" meme or make bogus social media platforms with the shooter's image as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white or associated with conservative causes. The far right says a white person should "protect" themselves from thugs, terrorists or protesters. They believe the use of firearms are "justified" if they are protesting or even instigating a conflict. The far right believes if a shooter is a police officer, an active military member, a veteran or a citizen who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and use of firearms are justified. If the shooters are teens in urban communities, the far right automatically assume the gunmen are Black. Even if the evidence turns out that the shooter has alignment with conservative causes or Republicans, the far right dismisses it as a hoax or a plot to demonize the MAGA movement.
The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox, Twitter and they force it into national news. They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican lawmakers who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms.

In order to earn President Donald J. Trump's support, Texas senator John Cornyn has to push the skeptical Republicans to pass the SAVE Act. It doesn't have the votes to pass.
Quid pro quo.
Trump has vowed to not sign any legislation until this bill is passed. It is a desperate attempt to seal Republican control for generations by rolling back The Voters Right Act of 1965.
The 53 senators and likely Sen. John Fetterman (I-PA) have backed this atrocity.
In this bill it requires acceptable documents:
REAL ID-compliant ID that explicitly indicates U.S. citizenship.
Valid U.S. passport.
U.S. military ID + military record showing U.S. birth.
Government-issued photo ID showing U.S. birth.
Other government photo ID plus one of: certified birth certificate (with specific details: full name, date/place of birth, parents’ names, seal, etc.), hospital birth record, adoption decree, consular report of birth abroad, naturalization/citizenship certificate, or American Indian Card (KIC classification).
The U.S. elections are well protected by the states. Most Americans vote once in a primary and a general election. They do not vote more than once. It is recorded. Rarely at best less than 1% of the voter electorate conducting fraud.
Trump is by far the worst president in modern history cannot fathom a loss to Joe Biden.
Now he wants to make sure states he failed to win in 2020 will no longer be swing.
Yes, most Americans do approve of voter identification but do not like obstruction to voting.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) is being pressured to abandon the cloture and force a majority vote.
Cornyn at first didn't support ending cloture. Trump demanded that he change course in order to receive his endorsement in a closely watch special run off primary against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Cornyn is pressing Senate Republicans to pass the SAVE (Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility) America Act — even if it means scrapping the chamber’s 60-vote legislative filibuster.
His appeal marks a significant reversal for the Texas Republican, who long argued the filibuster served as a safeguard against Democrats advancing sweeping left-wing priorities with a simple majority.
"For many years, I believed that if the U.S. Senate scrapped the filibuster, Texas and our nation would stand to lose more than we would gain," Cornyn wrote in a New York Post op-ed Wednesday morning. "But when the reality on the ground changes, leaders must take stock and adapt."
Thune is expected to put the SAVE America Act to a vote in the Senate next week, but the measure could fail on the floor given widespread opposition from Democrats. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is also facing a weeks-long shutdown over Democrats’ refusal to fund the agency absent vast reforms to immigration enforcement.
Under Senate rules, both pieces of legislation would have to overcome the 60-vote threshold — meaning buy-in from some Democrats — to survive a key procedural vote before final passage.
"Today, Democrats are weaponizing the Senate’s rules to block the SAVE America Act, defund the Department of Homeland Security and hurt the American people — all to spite President Donald Trump," Cornyn wrote.
"After careful consideration, I support whatever changes to Senate rules that may prove necessary for us to get the SAVE America Act and Homeland Security funding past the Democrats’ obstruction, through the Senate and on the president’s desk for his signature," Cornyn added.
Trump has repeatedly called on the Senate to pass the voter ID bill, calling it the "number one priority" during an address to House Republicans on Monday.
The House-passed legislation would require proof-of-citizenship to vote in federal elections, impose voter ID requirements and require states to remove noncitizens from voter rolls. Trump has asked Republicans to add provisions that crack down on mail-in ballots, prohibit biological males’ participation in women’s sports and ban child sex-change procedures.
Trump has also threatened not to sign any legislation into law until the SAVE America Act clears the Senate. The White House later clarified that DHS funding was not included in the president’s ultimatum.
"We can either unilaterally disarm, or we can stand and fight," Cornyn wrote. "The answer is clear: We need to stand, fight and win.
Both Cornyn and Paxton are vying for Trump’s endorsement ahead of the late May runoff election that will decide who will face Democratic candidate James Talarico, a Texas state senator, in the November general election. Trump said last week that he would "soon" back a candidate, but he has yet to issue an endorsement. Cornyn, who has served in the upper chamber since 2002, is seeking his fifth Senate term.
Paxton said last week that he would consider exiting the race if the Senate were to circumvent the filibuster and pass the SAVE America Act.
"The SAVE America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I'm committed to helping President Trump get it done," Paxton wrote.
Despite Cornyn’s new openness to filibuster reform, the SAVE America Act still faces an uphill battle in the Senate. The bill passed the House last month in a vote mostly along party lines.
Thune, a supporter of the SAVE America Act, has repeatedly said that the votes do not exist to scrap the 60-vote filibuster and advance the voter ID measure.
The majority leader has also warned against using the talking filibuster — a little-used maneuver preferred by some conservatives — arguing that approach would have unintended consequences and risks jamming the Senate floor for an indefinite period.
"The votes aren’t there for a talking filibuster," Thune said Tuesday.
"I’m the person who has to deliver sometimes the not-so-good news that the math doesn’t add up, but those are the facts and there’s no getting around it," he continued.
I get it. If it is a bill that Republicans favor they should be able to pass it without any distractions.
But now they see the outcome of how they acted when Democrats wanted to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and George Floyd Policing Act.
It was Fetterman along with then senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema holding up the bills because of the filibuster.
Obviously Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) will not concede to ending the filibuster. It will take 60 votes to pass legislation.
If it has bipartisan support why can't they get it passed?
The SAVE Act appears to disenfranchises voters who often don't vote every year. It stops transgender Americans from voting. It makes married women who do not have their maiden names from voting. It makes early voting days nearly impossible. It eliminates mail in voting.
It is a confusing hot mess designed to help Republicans win elections under the guise of protecting voter rights.
It does not even allow Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa residents an opportunity to vote for president.
