Buffalo mayor defeats Democratic nominee after losing a primary.

If at first you don't succeed, try again. Incumbent Buffalo, New York mayor Byron Brown has defeated Democratic nominee India B. Walton, a self-described democratic socialist.

His comeback was another blow to white leftists and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). It appears that the blame game in New Jersey and devastating loss in Virginia will be placed on the progressive House members. Their refusal to pass the bipartisan infrastructure package as a stand alone has doomed Terry McAuliffe and probably Phil Murphy.

But it hasn't doomed Rep-Elect Shontel Brown (D-OH) or the Buffalo mayor. 

Byron Brown, campaigning from an unprecedented fifth term as a write-in candidate after losing the Democratic primary, appeared to have the edge Tuesday night as the number of write-in votes cast in the election outnumbered the votes cast for Democratic nominee India Walton by more than 10,000.

But as good as things look for Brown, it will be weeks before the Board of Elections will be able confirm Election Night impressions. Absentee votes can arrive through Nov. 9 as long as they were postmarked by Election Day and the Board of Elections won’t begin to examine the write-in votes until Nov. 17, pursuant to state law. The absolute latest deadline to certify the election is Nov. 27.

Brown appeared to declare victory at his headquarters Tuesday night – “The people chose four more years,” he said  – but Walton was not ready to give up just yet.

“This is definitely not a concession speech,” Walton said, adding that it’s still unclear who “write-in” is.

“But what I can guarantee you is that I will continue to fight for everyday Buffalonians who are struggling to make ends meet and live a quality life,” Walton said. “And I am going to continue working … to build a safe and healthy Buffalo.”

The final, unofficial vote count reported by the Board of Election has “Write-In” leading Walton 34,273 to 23,986 (58.8% to 41.2%), though that does not mean Brown received exactly that many votes. Not every write-in vote will go for Brown – fringe candidates Benjamin Carlisle and Jaz Miles also ran write-in campaigns – and some voters who intended to vote for Brown may have done so incorrectly.

Additionally, Erie County Elections Commissioner Ralph Mohr told News 4 there are about 2,400 “undervotes” in the mayoral race, which are ballots submitted without having a bubble filled for anyone in that column. Since write-in votes do not need to have the bubble filled in to count, there could be additional write-in votes coming that are not reflected in the unofficial numbers.

Her support for white gentrification politics doomed her. India Walton did what Nina Turner and many other leftists did, listen to Bernie Sanders, Cori Bush and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Walton, a proud Democratic Socialist, was endorsed by the Democratic Party after winning the primary and also garnered support from national political figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Brown frequently attacked Walton’s views as radical and gained the support of Republicans in the process.

Brown made reference to Walton’s views in his speech: “Today’s election was not just a referendum on the City of Buffalo. It was a referendum on the future of our democracy,” he said.

If Brown is indeed confirmed the winner, he would be the first mayor in city history to serve five terms. Walton was seeking to become the first female mayor in Buffalo history, and the first socialist mayor of a major American city since 1960.

“I never gave up on our great city,” Brown said, “because we’re from Buffalo and we never quit.”

Terry McAuliffe suffers a devastating loss and the blame lies on House Progressives, President Joe Biden, Sen. Karen Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV). The failure to pass Biden's Build Back Better agenda, voting rights and police reform cost the Democrats dearly.

On top of that Virginia goes back to "toss up" in 2024 thanks to the Republicans winning back the state.

Republicans and the insurrection doesn't stop at the U.S. Capitol. It went to the ballot box and it was embraced by the former president. Washed Up 45 and Republicans were driven by culture wars, misinformation and racial angst. We are closing on 800,000 Americans dead from the coronavirus.

Yet, that doesn't seem to phase Republicans. They just hate Biden, mask mandates, immigration, cancelling "free speech" and socialism.

Karen Youngkin won by five points in a state that Biden carried by ten points.

Youngkin, a first-time candidate who hails from the business wing of the Republican Party, narrowly defeated former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe in a statewide contest with plenty of national implications. Tuesday’s election in Virginia, a one-time battleground but still competitive state, is seen as a key barometer ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, when Republicans aim to win back control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, where the Democrats hold razor-thin majorities.

And Republicans see Youngkin’s emphasis on tapping into the anger of parents over decisions by their local school boards as a blueprint of how to run campaigns in next year’s elections.

Youngkin based his attacks on "big government" and inflation. Inflation has hit the wallets of many Americans and Biden can't fix the problem due to Congress' failure to pass his agenda. 

Young kept Washed Up 45 at a distance and kept hammering critical race theory in schools. The culture war became an issue for Republicans.

Highlighting his full-court press on education, Youngkin in his victory speech early Wednesday morning stressed that "we're going to embrace our parents, not ignore them. We're going to press forward with a curriculum that includes listening to parents."

But amid a year and a half of frustration over school closures and mask mandates due to the coronavirus pandemic and the push by conservatives nationwide to target race-focused curriculum, including this year’s well-publicized battles in Northern Virginia’s Loudoun County – ground zero for the education culture wars – Republicans now see education and parents’ rights as a winning issue to try and recapture suburban voters who fled the GOP during Trump’s White House tenure.

An unforced error by McAuliffe further fueled the GOP fire, as Republicans spotlighted a clip from the second and final debate between the two candidates where the former governor said, "I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

In the weeks after the clip went viral, public opinion polls in Virginia showed education surging to become the second most pressing issue on the minds of voters. And the same surveys indicated that McAuliffe, who kicked off his gubernatorial campaign at a public school in Richmond as he spotlighted his education proposals, had lost his advantage on the issue.

While taking a drubbing in Virginia, and in New Jersey, where Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy holds a razor-thin margin over Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli the day after the election in a heavily blue state, Democrats publicly say they "will not be deterred."

"We will get right back to work. As we say in South Carolina: while we breathe, we hope. Starting today and every single day over the next year, Democrats will remain laser-focused on delivering for working families and making our case directly to each and every voter," Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison insisted.

The Democrats need to fight dirty. We can't be the party of facts when we're getting crushed by lies!

The Republicans using white parents frustration as a key to winning. The Democrats might as well abandon the tie to Washed Up 45 strategy. They need to stop catering to white gentrification politics.

Stay focus on the issues that matter to all Americans. Don't often count Black men, white women and Hispanics as the key to victory. 

In other words, listen to Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC)....Stop sloganeering!

The House Progressives, Manchin, Sinema and Biden will doom the party going into 2022.

The U.S. Justice Department and many police departments in the country stress that the need to be vigilant is great when it comes to Halloween. Your child or pet could get dangerous treats.

Someone tampered with a KitKat chocolate bar in Ohio. A child in Fostoria, Ohio was given two pieces of candy while trick-or-treating on Sunday. When the family checked the candy, they were shocked to find a sewing needle in the KitKat bar.

The Fostoria Police called the person who did it a "demented" individual. 

Officials say that if you believe that the food was tampered with, they ask you to take it to a local police station or hospital to use an X-ray to inspect it.

The suspect could face criminal mischief and felonious assault.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The civil rights leader is hoping a new generation will carry on his legacy. The Reverend Jesse Jackson has Parkinson's Disease. He has underlying conditions and barely survived a bout with COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

The civil rights leader is hospitalized after falling and hitting his head while at Howard University. He joined the students in protesting the living conditions at the historically Black university.

Jackson, 80 lives in Chicago and is active as a civil rights leader has been the scorn of conservative agitators and white nationalists. 

He has been very public about his health. He is the father of five. He has four children from his wife and one from a woman he had an affair with.

Jackson fell at the university when he tripped and fell. He cut his head. He was rushed to the Howard University Hospital. He was given a CT scan to make sure he was not having swelling on the brain.

Jackson a former supporter of Bernie Sanders' presidential bids has been very vocal about civil rights, voting rights and lead pipes in urban centers.

Today is Election Day.

VOTE!

A handful of U.S. races will shake the course of President Joe Biden's agenda. The one that could impact Democrats going into 2022 is the race for governor in Virginia. A state that easily went to Biden could flip to become a swing state.

Terry McAuliffe is facing off against the Republican, Karen Youngkin in a race that could shape the midterms. The former Democratic governor of Virginia has squander a lead to single digits and the potential for defeat is likely 51%. McAuliffe was trying to tag Youngkin to Washed Up 45 and was hoping on the Democrats to pass the Build Back Better bill. The stalling by progressives, Sen. Karen Sinema (D-AZ) and Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV) have made it harder for McAuliffe to sell his message. Also Ralph Northam is leaving on somewhat bad terms. After his embarrassing blackface photos, the current governor had to make it up to Black voters. He supported the removal of Confederate statues in the state. He also signed off on extending early voting and mail in voting. The governor has offered more to struggling families. However, Republicans still simmering over the former president's loss are resorting to culture war issues like critical race theory and mask mandates to taint McAuliffe and Biden to "big government overreach." Also Lauren Windsor's stunt to bring tiki torches and fake Proud Boys only agitated the far-right need to defeat the Democrats. Youngkin wants to win over white voters who oppose immigration, critical race theory and mask mandates. Some of his supporters are still flying the Confederate flag and are angry over inflation. Biden won the state by 10 points, but if the Republican wins, it could deflate Democrats going into 2022. The insurrection is not on the minds of Republicans and independent voters. Not holding the former president accountable seems like a rally cry for Youngkin and many like him to embrace Washed Up 45's antics. The Republicans refuse to work with Biden on Build Back Better but sure as hell want to take credit for getting the benefits of it. If McAuliffe does win or lose, the Democrats may have to scrap the Washed Up 45 narrative. 

Is Biden an anchor on Democrats? We will find out tonight.

India B. Walton is hoping to become the first Democratic mayor of Buffalo, New York who is a democratic socialist. Her opponent, Democratic incumbent Byron Brown is hoping to beat her in a write-in campaign. Walton's embracing of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has turned her negatives up high. In the latest polling, Brown is leading even though he is not on the ballot. He is hoping that Buffalo residents skip her name and type or write his name in.

Shontel Brown should be easily elected to finish out the term left by Marcia Fudge. Brown who beaten leftist Nina Turner in a bitterly fought special primary is facing against Karen Gore, a perennial Republican who is Black. The Black Republican has been outspent by Brown. Turner who was embraced by Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Jeffrey Shaun King and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) was not focused on issues in the Ohio 11th Congressional District. She was focused on being a distraction and throwing shade at Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) via Killer Mike. Turner blew a 35-point lead. She had more fundraising and endorsements than Brown. Brown a local Cuyahoga County representative said that she wants to be a lawmaker not an activist like Ocasio-Cortez, Bush and Rep. Idiot Karen Greene (R-GA).

Eric Adams, mayoral nominee for New York City is expected to trounce Republican/independent Karen Silva. The Democratic mayoral nominee is expected to throw out his predecessor agenda. Bill de Blasio, a two term mayor for the city of New York is considering a sacrificial lamb run for governor. Andrew Yang, the former presidential candidate and former mayoral candidate couldn't buy his way to support. His appearance on Fox and his wishy-washy ways had doomed him again. Also MSNBC agitator Maya Wiley failed to secure the vote. Again her embracing of Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez, Bush and Turner has doom her.

Jeff Mims, the Dayton city commissioner is taking on Rennes Bowers in a non partisan election. Mims, endorsed by the Democratic Party is taking on Bowers, a former Dayton fire fighter. Bowers, an independent who is endorsed by Republicans is hoping to capitalize off the negative reaction to outgoing mayor Nan Whaley and the city's mask mandate. He also is calling for more demolishing of abandon homes and buildings. Mims is hoping to work with the new police chief and try to bring Dayton, a major rust belt city back to glory.

Phil Murphy, the embattled New Jersey governor is likely going to win his bid for reelection. The Democratic governor has faced backlash over the mask mandates and his decision to leave the state during the pandemic to visit family. He also ate in places without proper masking. He faced heat for that. But I guess people are fickle about this. New Jersey has successfully got the COVID-19 rates down and has seen modest job growth. His opponent Karen Ciattarelli has found himself without a party because Washed Up 45 didn't come to the party.

Eric Adams will likely beat the sideshow act.

Boston will now find itself in a historical feat. Two women are likely are going to be mayor. One is a woman of color. Michelle Wu is a Taiwanese-American and progressive activist. Annissa Essaibi George is a moderate who embraced by many of the Democratic establishment. Wu is embraced by the progressives and of course, Sanders, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY).

Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is resigning despite being favored to win. It appears her former rival and his opponent could take this into a runoff. Kasim Reed, a former two term mayor of Atlanta and Felicia Moore, the Atlanta City Council president are vying for the mayor seat. With white nationalists are threatening to separate the Buckhead neighborhood from the city, the mayor's race has turned into an issue of the growing crime in Atlanta. Tension between the police and residents of the city have reached new lows. The city's payout the family of Rayshard Brooks. The far-right extremist Rep. Idiot Karen Greene (R-GA) has been using the narratives of crime in the streets and "Let's Go Brandon" to point out how Democrats ruined Atlanta and she's considering a run for president in 2024. 

Shontel Brown is likely going to be U.S. Representative-elect.

Minneapolis is considering defunding the police. The city will abolish its police force and restructure it as a community oriented policing structure. In the wake of the George Floyd and Duante Wright murders and many other police shootings in the Twin Cities, Jacob Frey is feeling the heat like his predecessor, Betsy Hodges. Hodges was defeated by Frey after her job approval tanked during the Philando Castile and Jamarr Clark shootings. Frey is expected to survive his challenge but it's unknown if he'll be able to regroup his city's police if voters approve restructuring. Frey has labeled his opponents as enablers. He is hoping that the need for police reform revolves around citizens engagement and not defunding.

The death of Alcee Hastings has prompt Florida to issue a special election to replace him. The Democratic lawmaker died while in office. Now the race has 11 candidates running. I will say that my bets are on Bobby DuBose, the Florida House Minority Leader. He is endorsed by Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA), the successor of John Lewis. Williams represents the Black Congressional Caucus and is considered a queen maker. She and Clyburn have helped fend off leftist challenges.

These races are determined by turnout. If Americans refuse to vote in these elections, the end game and results. Trust me, Shontel Brown, Gavin Newsom, Melanie Stansbury are results of voter turnout.

Buffalo, New York's Democratic mayoral nominee India Walton is now doing the Nina Turner style of politics.

Will it work?

She is facing off against Democratic incumbent Byron Brown who is mounting a fierce write in campaign against her. He is getting strong backing from the Black community, Democrats who fear she could harm statewide ballots and some Republicans.

Now Walton is throwing the kitchen sink, toilet bowl and garbage disposal at Brown.

She has resorted to calling the longtime Democratic mayor a Republican. The same losers who ran on Nina Turner's ass are once again dooming her. 

First things first, Black voters are not monolithic. We're not always going to vote based on race or on political leanings. Second, we're not embracing white gentrification of politics. We are not "burn baby burn" or "defund the police."

I know I am not for sloganing or "MAGA-style" politics.

If you can't fix the status quo with real solutions, you're not going to win. That's why it's important to not underestimate the opponents or the temperature of the nation.

President Joe Biden's poll numbers are sagging and it could impact Democrats going into 2022.

Walton who is considered a democratic socialist has the backing of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and Turner. 

Brown has the backing of many of Democratic Party's mainstream politicians. Brown has also got backing from local Republicans who fear that Walton's "in your face" politics could be a disaster for Buffalo.

Walton who championed on police reform is being hammered for being more of an activist than a lawmaker.

Brown and Walton clashed over an issue that has animated the campaign from the beginning: policing and Walton's role in Black Lives Matter protests.

"We have an opponent that was engaged in protests that were laden with profanities, with a bullhorn to her mouth, shouting how she wanted to defund our police, how police don't make us safe and saying she wanted to cut the police department budget," Brown said of Walton's conduct at protests in summer 2020.

Walton said Brown hasn't pursued meaningful police reform.  

"His lack of leadership is what caused people to be out in the streets yelling profanities," Walton said. "We have been proposing reforms for a long time and being ignored and feeling disrespected, unseen and unheard.

"I would have liked to see the mayor responding to the people protesting in the streets with policy," Walton said, calling his record on police reform "lackluster."

Leftists agitators like Karen Marans of HuffPost once again throws shade at Brown, a four term mayor who ran unopposed until his upset primary loss to Walton. The leftists are calling Brown a Republican, because he's doing a write-in campaign and is getting the donations from Republicans. The leftists are calling Brown for getting support from agitators like Karen Paladino. Brown denounced Paladino and his endorsement.

Now he is mounting a write-in campaign to defeat Walton.

And it appears that he's leading in polls against Walton. The tagging of "socialist" has stuck like sore thumb on her. Walton being tagged for the "defund the police" has harmed her badly. 

Brown has called out Walton for pushing the Democratic Party further to the left. He said that politics should not be driven by "radicals" and "labeling." 

The city of Buffalo in Western New York is more politically conservative. It's like Cleveland, Ohio, a Rust Belt city that wants jobs, not pie in the sky and gotcha politics.

Cleveland and Akron, Ohio picked Shontel Brown over Turner. Turner brought the circus to the primary and saw her ass get defeated handily by Brown. The same leftists were calling Brown "corrupt" and a Republican because she's not Turner. 

Brown is likely going to be U.S. Representative for Ohio. 

Shontel Brown has no relation to Byron Brown. 

Walton's antics are going to doom her badly. I mean she's not talking about jobs. She's not talking about the Buffalo-Niagara region. 

She's not talking about the international travel corridor between Toronto and Buffalo. The Interstate 190 highway which travels from the U.S.-Canada border to the New York Thruway (Interstate 90) is in need of repairs. Brown has advocated for the Interstate improvements.

Brown has also been active in trying to root out bad cops.

And thanks to Walton's association with leftists, she could be defeated by a write-in candidate. It will be like Karen Murkowski, the Alaskan senator who beat a Republican and Democrat in a write-in campaign.

Pushing the candidates to the far-left, stalling the bipartisan infrastructure bill and having Sanders continue to push the narratives will turn Democrats off to the party.

Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV) is a prime example. He said that Democrats need to pass the infrastructure package now. He said that he will not bow to the pressure of the House Progressives and their demands to add the reconciliation package to the bipartisan bill.

Many Democrats are fearing that the far-left are destroying Biden's agenda. They already have the far-right and Republicans to deal with, now Biden got to deal with the far-left and bad faith agitators on the left.

On top of that, they're dooming Terry McAuliffe in proxy because he is struggling to fend off the Karen running against him.

Republicans ain't doing shit. They won't work with Biden. That's should be the message going in. But alas, the Democrats are doing the work for the Republicans by this endless bickering. 

Sanders did not win the primary. Biden gave Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez a place at the table. He told them that he could push it if the voters support it. So far, Democrats do support getting Build Back Better done but they're not in favor of the Sanders approach of getting things done.

The 51-year old actress best known for playing Buffy Summers in the 1992 cult film Buffy The Vampire Slayer has said that she needs prayers.

She had to go to the hospital after testing positive for the coronavirus. Now she has COVID-19 influenced pneumonia and is on oxygen. She didn't confirm she's on a ventilator or tying treatments.

Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19.

The American rocker announced he tested positive for the coronavirus. However, he's not facing a deadly situation like the thousands of unvaccinated Americans who refused to get the shot.

Jon Bon Jovi said that he had to cancel a handful of shows after he tested positive for the coronavirus.

He tested positive when he took a rapid test prior to his concert at Miami's Lowes South Beach, leaving an announcer to inform the crowd he could not perform. Bon Jovi, 59 said that he is fully vaccinated and had mild symptoms. Ticket holders who went to see Bon Jovi were required to show proof of vaccination or have a negative test result to get into the concert. 

This was a highlight of a three-day hotel package costing up to thousands of dollars a person.

"Jon feels great," the announcer said. 

Jon was scheduled to participate in a Q & A session and a photo op on Saturday night.

There's no word on whether the concert would be rescheduled.
