Republicans embraced the insurrection that could have toppled America's governance. The former president incited a mob to attack the peaceful transfer of power on January 6, 2021. Ten House members and seven Senators bravely held the former Republican president accountable for this.
They decided to not hold any bipartisan committee on the insurrection. They have no room to talk.

The Republicans literally bragged about Washed Up 45 taking the lead "in peace talks as he signed a historic peace agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan, which would end America's longest war."
Now all of sudden, the Republicans scrub the page on GOP.com and now resort to their baseless claims that Biden decided to pull out too early and the Taliban decided to reclaim the country.
Washed Up 45 had decided to reduce the number of troops and Biden obligated to the decision for a full pullout.
The Taliban has completely toppled the Western-back, corrupt government. This was days if not months in the making. The junk food media's "The Fall of Kabul" is dominating the news cycle just as we're ignoring the deadly week of coronavirus deaths. Within two weeks we will surpass over 650,000 deaths from the coronavirus.
The Biden Administration is standing by its decision. He believes Americans are tired of having a place in the country. He believes its up to the Afghanistan government to decide on whether they depose the current government or the Taliban.

I could care less about what goes on in Afghanistan. Half of the bark squad are complaining about the fall of installed government. "The Fall of Kabul" is the new talking points of the junk food media. Many of these idiots cannot point the country on a damn map.
It has been 20 years, the war was not winnable. We have a motherfucking pandemic in this country that has killed over 645,000 Americans. We have other problems to be dealing with. The United States was never in the business of building a nation.
When the U.S. entered the longest war in history, the goal was to capture the sponsors and financial backers of the September 11, 2001 attacks.
When Barack Obama ordered the capture of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, it immediately ended the "Fight on Terror."
Why did we continue to stay in Afghanistan?
Washed Up 45 negotiated an exit strategy. President Joe Biden honored it. The United States spent billions of dollars, lost over 30,000 American soldiers, spent years trying to prop up a corrupt government and now they move on to leave the problems in the hands of Afghanistan.
The leaders and its military already folded and the Taliban is in control of Kabul with hopes of a peaceful transfer of power from the Western-backed leader Ashraf Ghani.
The Karens in Congress are already ankle biting and claiming that Biden lost the war. The very same folks who allowed the former president incite a mob to overthrow the U.S. government because he didn't win the election. The House of Representatives impeached him but the Senate led by its Republican minority leader refused to convict him. The Republicans should take lessons from the Taliban on how to overthrow a government.
Cause the MAGA Taliban gathered to the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, attacked police officers, broke into the House Speaker's office. They stole her property. They smeared feces and graffiti over the U.S. Capitol.
They rose the flag of the losing candidate over our country's capital.
American media cover the Taliban returning back to power. The American junk food media is calling this a defeat for the U.S. despite polls showing the war needing to end.

The Taliban swept into Afghanistan’s capital Sunday after the government collapsed and the embattled president joined an exodus of his fellow citizens and foreigners, signaling the end of a costly two-decade U.S. campaign to remake the country.
Heavily armed Taliban fighters fanned out across the capital, and several entered Kabul’s abandoned presidential palace. Suhail Shaheen, a Taliban spokesman and negotiator, told The Associated Press that the militants would hold talks in the coming days aimed at forming an “open, inclusive Islamic government.”
Earlier, a Taliban official said the group would announce from the palace the restoration of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the formal name of the country under Taliban rule before the militants were ousted by U.S.-led forces in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, which were orchestrated by al-Qaida while it was being sheltered by the Taliban. But that plan appeared to be on hold.
Kabul was gripped by panic. Helicopters raced overhead throughout the day to evacuate personnel from the U.S. Embassy. Smoke rose near the compound as staff destroyed important documents, and the American flag was lowered. Several other Western missions also prepared to pull their people out.
Fearful that the Taliban could reimpose the kind of brutal rule that all but eliminated women’s rights, Afghans rushed to leave the country, lining up at cash machines to withdraw their life savings. The desperately poor — who had left homes in the countryside for the presumed safety of the capital — remained in parks and open spaces throughout the city.
Though the Taliban had promised a peaceful transition, the U.S. Embassy suspended operations and warned Americans late in the day to shelter in place and not try to get to the airport.
Commercial flights were suspended after sporadic gunfire erupted at the Kabul airport, according to two senior U.S. military officials. Evacuations continued on military flights, but the halt to commercial traffic closed off one of the last routes available for fleeing Afghans.
Many people watched in disbelief as helicopters landed in the U.S. Embassy compound to take diplomats to a new outpost at the airport. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken rejected comparisons to the U.S. pullout from Vietnam.
“This is manifestly not Saigon,” he said on ABC’s “This Week.”
Biden is dealing with the fallout of Afghanistan.
The American ambassador was among those evacuated, officials said. He was asking to return to the embassy, but it was not clear if he would be allowed to. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss ongoing operations.
As the insurgents closed in, President Ashraf Ghani flew out of the country.
“The former president of Afghanistan left Afghanistan, leaving the country in this difficult situation,” said Abdullah Abdullah, the head of the Afghan National Reconciliation Council and a longtime rival of Ghani. “God should hold him accountable.”
Ghani later posted on Facebook that he left to avert bloodshed in the capital, without saying where he had gone.
As night fell, Taliban fighters deployed across Kabul, taking over abandoned police posts and pledging to maintain law and order during the transition. Residents reported looting in parts of the city, including in the upscale diplomatic district, and messages circulating on social media advised people to stay inside and lock their gates.
In a stunning rout, the Taliban seized nearly all of Afghanistan in just over a week, despite the billions of dollars spent by the U.S. and NATO over nearly 20 years to build up Afghan security forces. Just days earlier, an American military assessment estimated that the capital would not come under insurgent pressure for a month.
The fall of Kabul marks the final chapter of America’s longest war, which began after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. A U.S.-led invasion dislodged the Taliban and beat them back, but America lost focus on the conflict in the chaos of the Iraq war.
For years, the U.S. sought an exit from Afghanistan. Washed Up 45 signed a deal with the Taliban in February 2020 that limited direct military action against the insurgents. That allowed the fighters to gather strength and move quickly to seize key areas when President Joe Biden announced his plans to withdraw all American forces by the end of this month.
After the insurgents entered Kabul, Taliban negotiators discussed a transfer of power, said an Afghan official. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details of the closed-door negotiations, described them as “tense.”
It remained unclear when that transfer would take place and who among the Taliban was negotiating. The negotiators on the government side included former President Hamid Karzai, leader of Hizb-e-Islami political and paramilitary group Gulbudin Hekmatyar, and Abdullah, who has been a vocal critic of Ghani.
Karzai himself appeared in a video posted online, his three young daughters around him, saying he remained in Kabul.
“We are trying to solve the issue of Afghanistan with the Taliban leadership peacefully,” he said.
Afghanistan’s acting defense minister, Bismillah Khan Mohammadi, did not hold back his criticism of the fleeing president.
“They tied our hands from behind and sold the country,” he wrote on Twitter. “Curse Ghani and his gang.”
The Taliban earlier insisted that their fighters would not enter people’s homes or interfere with businesses and said they would offer “amnesty” to those who worked with the Afghan government or foreign forces.
But there have been reports of revenge killings and other brutal tactics in areas of the country the Taliban have seized in recent days. Reports of gunfire at the airport raised the specter of more violence. One female journalist, weeping, sent voice messages to colleagues after armed men entered her apartment building and banged on her door.
“What should I do? Should I call the police or Taliban?” Getee Azami cried. It wasn’t clear what happened to her after that.
An Afghan university student described feeling betrayed as she watched the evacuation of the U.S. Embassy.
“You failed the younger generation of Afghanistan,” said Aisha Khurram, 22, who is now unsure of whether she will be able to graduate in two months. She said her generation was “hoping to build the country with their own hands. They put blood, efforts and sweat into whatever we had right now.”
Sunday began with the Taliban seizing Jalalabad, the last major city besides the capital not in their hands. Afghan officials said the militants also took the capitals of Maidan Wardak, Khost, Kapisa and Parwan provinces, as well as the country’s last government-held border post.
Later, Afghan forces at Bagram Air Base, home to a prison housing 5,000 inmates, surrendered to the Taliban, according to Bagram district chief Darwaish Raufi. The prison at the former U.S. base held both Taliban and Islamic State group fighters.
Sen. Karen Sasse (R-NE) decided to toss a statement into the public arena claiming that Biden and Washed Up 45 created an unmitigated disaster. The Nebraska senator claims this is "Biden's Saigon."
This is the chest beating from arm chair generals and keyboard warriors who refuse to serve a day in uniform. They rather see "suckers" (as Washed Up 45 called it) serve a winless war.
American lawmakers who believe that the United States is always the "good guys" are clueless as fuck.
Like the Soviets, we were viewed as invaders, forced gentrification and cultural disappropriation.
When the U.S. entered the war, George W. Bush had demanded the Afghanistan government give up Bin Laden or we deposed the Taliban. We narrowed the field to finding Bin Laden. However, Bush took his focus off Afghanistan and led us into Iraq.
The wars were costly to thousands of lives. I believe leaving Afghanistan was a good decision. We wasted enough money trying to fix the world. We need to stay focus on our own issues. It's time to close the book on the longest war in American history.

The far right media personality is still in the hospital in critical condition. He contracted the delta strain of the coronavirus and he wasn't fully vaccinated. Now his family confirms that he is on a ventilator and they will be making the final arrangements.
There has not been any improvement for Karen Valentine, a nationally syndicated talk radio host out of Nashville, Tennessee. He was considered an anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist.
His brother, Mark Valentine, shared an update on his condition on Friday, saying he needs to be placed on an ECMO machine. ECMO stands for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and is said to be similar to the heart-lung by-pass machine used during open-heart surgery.
“Phil made it through the nite [sic]. He needs to be on an EKMO [sic] machine which is lung part of a heart/lung machine. We’re trying to get him to a hospital with that equipment via helicopter. The protocol requires he be able to be on his back for several hours which I didn’t think he could do…but he did! We’re checking bed availability now and if he is a candidate for transport. It ain’t over,” Mark Valentine wrote.

Last week, Mark Valentine, spoke at length on WWTN-FM about his brother’s condition and said his brother now regrets not being an advocate for vaccination.
Karen Valentine has had an afternoon talk radio show on the station for years. He previously advised listeners to get vaccinated only if they thought they would likely die from COVID-19.
On July 11, Valentine confirmed via his Facebook page that he had been diagnosed with the virus.
After contracting the coronavirus, his family released a statement urging his listeners to get vaccinated. It was ignored by the far-right.
After all, Karen Travis, who replaced old fart Limbaugh when he died in February 2021, is leading the crusade against vaccines and mask mandates.
Of course, there's folks who are fully vaccinated but end up getting the coronavirus. As with vaccines, nothing is 100%. The vaccines are capable of preventing the coronavirus. At best, it's a 94% prevention rate which means 1 out of 500 could be infected even if they're vaccinated.
President Joe Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.
But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war.
With this pandemic mostly affecting states where Republican governors are, we may have to return to wearing facial protection and cutting back services to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
We came so far only to have a bunch of selfish idiots set it back. Just because they hate President Joe Biden.

According to the CDC, there is still not enough information on antibodies for COVID-19 and whether they can prevent someone from getting reinfected. It still recommends that people with a positive antibody test follow recommendations for protecting themselves and others.
The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.
Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19.
If you're not vaccinated, your chances of death increases to 48%.
Healthy people can die from this. Take this seriously. You only have one life!

For you comic book nerds, I am a huge fan of Batman. Besides, the Dark Knight, I am huge collector of The Transformers action figures. I am a DC comics fan. DC stands for Detectives Comics for those who ain't aware. The DC heroes besides Batman are Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Cyborg, the Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Aquaman and the Green Arrow.
The Batman has a team of heroes protecting Gotham City. Batman had his sidekick as Robin and Batgirl.
Tim Drake who witnessed the death of Dick Grayson's parents later found out the identities of Batman and Robin. Bruce Wayne would nearly hang up his cape after losing Jason Todd. Grayson, as Nightwing didn't want the mantle of being Robin, Tim decided that he could be the new Robin.
Now there's a breakthrough in the DC Comics world. Drake comes out as bisexual.
The DC Rebirth series has Tim Drake operating under the Red Robin alias. He is also dating Stephanie Brown (the fourth Robin/Spoiler).
Robin finds Annie to be one of his many girlfirends.
In the timeline of the Infinite Frontier, Tim's history is smoother over again, restoring his pre-New 52 histories as Batman's third apprentice and re-establishing him as having been Robin since that time.
Tim's storyline in Batman: Urban Legends sees him deal with unexpressed insecurities while reconnecting with a friend from earlier volumes, Bernard Dowd. Bernard is kidnapped, sending Tim on a rescue mission while trying to understand what he truly desires from life. During the rescue, Bernard tells Robin that his friend Tim helped him come out and understands himself, prompting Tim to have the same realization for Bernard.
Out of costume, Tim was asked on a date by Bernard and he kindly accepts it.
With the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters into American comics, its becoming a step to diversity.
Everyone deserves a hero or heroine to represent. The decision to make Tim Drake bisexual is a step in the right direction.
Now if you're a 1990s kid, I want to remind you that Batman The Animated Series had Tim Drake's most darkest battle. When Batman The Animated Series moved to The WB Network they retooled it as The New Batman Adventures.
Drake was introduced into the Bat Family. It also revealed the rift between Batman and Robin who later left to become Nightwing, the tragic death of Batgirl and introducing Superman into Gotham City.

The episode I was referring to was the one where he met Annie. A young girl who Tim found interest in and was helping to seek a memory lost after being chased by her abusive father.

The far-right outlet is trying to groom the controversial Florida governor for 2024 once Washed Up 45 is out of the picture. We are still under the impression that the former president is seeking to run for election in 2024.
If he does run, he will likely suck the air out the room. But in case he doesn't run, the far-right outlet is propping up Florida governor Karen DeSantis.
Do you remember when DeSantis barred most of the junk food media from the signing of the controversial voting law? I remember that only one network was allowed to be in the presence of the governor and Republican lawmakers.
Fox.
That is one of the many controversial things the far-right outlet and governor are conspiring towards a soon to be announcement of running for president.
In a global pandemic in which 645,000 Americans are killed from the COVID-19 delta and lambda variants, DeSantis believes that it's essential for Floridians and Americans to get back to work.
The Tampa Bay Times has found, with the two sides coordinating coverage and story elements in an effort to build up the governor’s profile as the new star of the Republican Party.
The network has elevated DeSantis especially on his opposition to COVID-19 lockdowns — or even any public health restrictions at all, with the governor now opposing local mandates for everything from masks in schools to vaccinations in hospitals. This summer, the state’s hospitalizations have broken its previous records from 2020.
And while DeSantis has even banned private businesses from requiring their customers to be vaccinated, thus further hindering efforts to stop the spread of infections, he is now also promoting the therapeutic use of Regeneron, the monoclonal antibody treatment that former president received in 2020 — and which is also being promoted by Fox host "Softball" Hannity.
The Tampa Bay Times obtained via a records request 1,250 pages of emails between Fox News and DeSantis’ office, spanning a four-month period beginning near the end of 2020. The paper’s analysis found: “From the week of the 2020 election through February, the network asked DeSantis to appear on its airwaves 113 times, or nearly once a day.” The paper also found that in the first six months of 2021, DeSantis had appeared on Fox eight times with Hannity, seven times with Karen Ingraham, and six times with Tuckems.
In one example, a Fox producer told DeSantis’ office that anchor Karen MacCallum had set out to “look forward and really spotlight the STARS of the GOP,” and that “she named Gov. DeSantis as one.”
Another producer bluntly said in an email: “We see him as the future of the party.” Indeed, more than being just the “future” of the Republican Party, Fox itself played a key role in DeSantis’ past ascent to the GOP nomination for governor back in 2018, when the then-congressman’s frequent appearances on the network helped bring him to the attention of the network’s most important viewer at the time Washed Up 45.
The article opens with an incident from January when, “during a period marked by confusion and images of seniors in long lines desperate for a shot, Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office devised a pitch to air a more flattering view. “ Fox & Friends was given exclusive coverage of an event featuring DeSantis with senior citizens receiving COVID-19 vaccinations — and as the article notes, “No other media would be allowed in.”
Fox's most annoying media personality is notorious for softball interviews with Republicans.
“I honestly think he could host the show with the chops we saw from him at the vaccine site,” said a Fox producer, in an email to DeSantis’ deputy director for communications.
It is worth adding that a similar event occurred later in May, beyond the scope of the newspaper’s analysis, when DeSantis gave Fox & Friends exclusive coverage for his signing of a new voter suppression law. DeSantis signed the bill live on cable television while barring media outlets in Florida from being able to cover the event, a move that violated decades of First Amendment jurisprudence and the principles of free speech.
But perhaps the single most egregious example happened earlier this year, when DeSantis was set to appear on the January 28 edition of Fox News Primetime with rotating host and Fox anchor Karen Bartiromo. Hours before the show, DeSantis’ office sent Fox a graph that compared the hospitalization rate in Florida to the “locked down states” of New York and California.
When DeSantis appeared on the show, Fox aired the graph, simply redone in its own house style, while still carrying the same heading text of “Hospitalizations per 1 Million” and “Florida vs. Locked Down States,” and even the same color scheme for labeling the names of each state. The newspaper notes that there was “no indication from the broadcast that the chart had originated in the governor’s office.” But actually watching the video makes the whole thing far worse, as anybody watching the show would have thought the graph had originated from Fox’s production team, rather than DeSantis’ staff.
During the broadcast, Bartiromo said that “We have graphics here that show how well Florida is doing.”

A Grammy Award-wining folk and country star who wrote "Love at the Five and Dime" died on Friday.
Nancy Griffith, 68 survived cancer twice passed away in Nashville, her family and management confirmed. The cau nse of death was not given.
"It was Nanci's wish that no further formal statement or press release happened for a week following her passing," Gold Mountain Entertainment said in a statement.
Born Nanci Caroline Smith in Seguin, Texas, but raised in Austin, Nanci played at clubs and festivals in her native Texas and began her career first as a teacher after attending the University of Texas.
She switched to music full time in 1977 and married fellow singer Eric Taylor. The two divorced in 1992 said Rolling Stone.
A good singer in her own right, Griffith was better known for songs she wrote for others. "Love at the Five and Dime" was a country hit that rose to No. 3 on the country charts for Kathy Mattea, while "Outbound Plane" was a top-10 hit for Suzy Bogguss, Variety Reported.
She recorded duets with Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Willie Nelson, Darius Rucker and the Chieftains, according to the website.
Griffith won a Grammy in 1993 for "Other Voices, Other Rooms," an album of country cover songs.
Griffith released her debut album, "There's a Light Beyond These Woods," in 1978 Rolling Stone reported. Her second albums, "Poet in My Window," was released in 1982.
She signed with Philo and got national attention with her albums, "Once in a Very Blue Moon" and "The Last of the True Believers," according to the magazine.
Griffith was the first artist to record Julie Gold's song, "From a Distance," which became a big pop hit for Bette Midler in 1990.

In a final summary of the race between Shontel Brown and Nina Turner, HuffPost writer continues to run on this notion that Turner was outspent by "dark money." This summary totally misses the point and it also gives an excuse to why Turner was rejected by the voters.
1. Nina Turner was not an angry Black woman.
Turner was the woman who wanted to appeal to white leftists. People in Cleveland, Ohio do not care about Medicare for All or defund the police. They don't care about taxing billionaires, Green New Deal and activism. Turner's rallies and events were catered to white people.
Turner was running in a Black district. They know who she is. She is a Black woman. Brown is a Black woman. Turner did not (and repeat), did not understand the district.
Remember her "souls to the polls." The march to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections was met with a response for the poll workers. If you're not here to vote, please stay away 100 feet.
What they care about is jobs, blight, bringing down crime, fixing roads, building the Opportunity Corridor, ending food deserts and improving the RTA rapid rail corridor.
2. Nina Turner was too aligned with Bernie Sanders.
Turner is most notable for saying that voting for Joe Biden is like eating half a bowl of shit.
The remarks will go down in history as one of the dumbest things said by a politician. Turner tried to distance herself from the comments. Turner's failure to endorse Hillary Clinton and embrace Jill Stein was a big mistake.
Turner is one of the most visible faces of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) two failed presidential campaign.
Sanders' and his supporters are insufferable. They are similar to the Washed Up 45 and his MAGA crowds. They are emboldened on conspiracies, baseless accusations and ad hominem attacks.
Nina Turner was tone deaf.
Then when they lose, they refuse to accept defeat, they blame other entities and refuse to understand why they lost.
Turner lost because she embraced Sanders who lost to Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020.
3. Shontel Brown ran a better ground game.
All politics is local.
For all the conspiracies about Brown having applause tracks to allegations she engages in "pay for play," Turner was hoping to tarnish her opponent as a part of the establishment.
The junk food media continued to called Brown, a local politician who engages with the people in Cuyahoga County, the establishment. They called Turner, a former elected leader, a prominent voice on television, radio and internet, and a person with more name recognition, the insurgent.
How the hell can Turner blow a 35 point lead?
She never had one.
Brown was engaging with constituents. She was hosting BBQs, block parties and engaging in the Black church. She was doing the things that Marcia Fudge was doing. She didn't need to have Killer Mike, Cornel West, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Cenk Uygur to make appearances on behalf of her.
Brown earned the endorsements of former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC). Turner burned bridges with Clinton and allowed Killer Mike called a civil rights leader and longtime kingmaker "stupid."
Folks know who Turner is. She underestimated who she was dealing with from the jump. As soon as Brown was picking up momentum on social media, Turner ran that bullshit Tulchin poll saying she was up by 35 points. Then her troll army decided to label Brown, transphobic, corrupt and a corportist who embraces dark money. They even had the audacity to say that Republicans wanted her to win.
Black constituents and Democrats knew Brown. She wasn't in the race trying to make noise. Her job was to serve the constituents and help Biden throughout his presidency.
Republicans rather see Turner in the House becoming a distraction. Already Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) became a distraction when she basically sloganed "defund the police" into the conversation when she was criticized for having private security. The comments became fodder for culture warriors within the Republican Party.
The Republicans already trying to turn the page on the insurrection are now focused on conspiracy theories about Biden's health, fearmongering about the Taliban reclaiming Afghanistan, bitching about inflation while not engaging in helping American families struggling, trying to push restrictions on voting and mask mandates and allowing more racism and firearms in the public spaces.
They need folks like Bush, Ocasio-Cortez and Turner in the spotlight. They need the noise to scare white voters and win back Congress.
4. Turner was a crappy candidate.
Turner ran a terrible campaign. Tone deaf. Too white. Too polarizing.
Turner lost her last campaign in a landslide. She was defeated in the race for Ohio Secretary of State by the guy who would eventually become lieutenant governor of Ohio.
Turner can blame "evil money" all she wants. Cleveland was not into her. If it makes her feel better, she won the areas around the University of Akron which led to her winning Summit County barely.
Daniel Marans was a crappy journalist from the start. His "bro" journalism was disgraceful.
He literally was stanning for Turner.
Brown is now targeted by the far-left as a "puppet" of corporate donors. It is dog whistle politics from the jump. They criticized Black leaders who backed Brown as being "stupid."

House Democrats who are moderate want Pelosi to pass the infrastructure bill now.

As we approach 200 days, the president is dealing with backlash over his decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan. The Taliban is returning to power and the junk food media is back to the "scary" Muslim narrative.
The Senate is still debating over the For The People's Act and the John Lewis Voting Act. The two moderates in the Senate and several Karens like Sen. Karen Scott (R-SC) are working on a "watered down" version of the bills.

The Senate passed their $3.8 trillion infrastructure bill and its heading to the House of Representatives.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is tasked to gathering the necessary votes to pass the infrastructure package. It's expected to be a nailbiter because Republicans are not likely to support it and there's a handful of Democrats who are not willing to support it.
The so-called Squad and some progressive lawmakers are threatening to sink the deal because the reconciliation bill that includes tax increases on the wealthy, climate change and "human" infrastructure is not included in the bill.
Now nine Democratic members of the House want Pelosi to take up the historic infrastructure bill that cleared the Senate earlier this week ― or else.
"Some have suggested that we hold off on considering the Senate infrastructure bill for months," the group said. "We disagree."
The lawmakers threatened Democratic budget priorities if House leadership does not put the bipartisan measure first.
Swing district Democrats warn that the bill needs to passed or else.
"With the livelihoods of hardworking American families at stake, we simply can't afford months of unnecessary delays and risk squandering this once-in-a-century bipartisan infrastructure package. It’s time to get shovels in the ground and people to work," read the letter, published by Punchbowl News.
The $1 trillion infrastructure bill was a major victory for President Joe Biden, who campaigned in part on fixing America's aging roads and bridges, crumbling public transit and other essentials, like protections from climate change. It won over nearly 20 Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Karen McConnell (R-KY) by a vote of 69-30.
The bill now faces the House. But Pelosi has said that she will not allow it to pass until the Senate OKs a sweeping budget package that would strengthen the country's social safety net, funding child care, health care, public education and climate resiliency.
"There ain't gonna be no bipartisan bill, unless we have a reconciliation bill," Pelosi said in June. "As I said, there won't be an infrastructure bill, unless we have a reconciliation bill. Plain and simple."
Democrats plan to advance that massive $3.5 trillion plan through budget reconciliation, a process which allows the Senate to avoid a filibuster and pass spending measures with a simple majority. While the Senate passed along party lines a plan for moving forward with the package, it will likely not be ready until the fall.
Progressives sent a letter to Pelosi earlier this week stating that most of their nearly 100 members would withhold support for the bipartisan bill until the larger spending plan is secure.
Meanwhile, the moderates' letter, dated Thursday, heaped praise on the bipartisan infrastructure package, saying it will “help us compete with China and others in the global economy.”
“We urge our House colleagues to follow the same path as the Senate: vote first on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and then consider the budget resolution,” they said.
Signees included Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), Carolyn Bourdeaux (D-GA), Filemon Vela (D-TX), Jared Golden (D-ME), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX), Ed Case (D-HI), Jim Costa (D-CA) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR).
