Today is Queen Bey's birthday. And on her birthday, the 38-year old entertainer had to pay homage to a talent that helped her success.
Beyonce Knowles and many others have relied on songwriter and singer LaShawn Daniels for inspiration. They called him a "true blessing."
The Grammy-winning singer/songwriter and producer passed away at the age of 41.
While the cause of his death hasn't been confirmed, Daniels' reported passing has led to an outpouring of sympathy from fans and collaborators, who have taken to social media to express condolences to the entertainer.
Daniels who collaborated with music producer Darkchild has a long list of songwriting under his belt.
He was credited to Brandy and Monica's smash single The Boy is Mine, the Destiny's Child single Lose My Breath, Beyonce's If You Had My Love, Lady Gaga's Telephone, Jennifer Lopez's If You Had My Love, and even Whitney Houston's It's Not Right But It's Okay.
LaShawn and April Daniels do reality television shows and had a YouTube channel.
He wrote songs and produced tracks for The Spice Girls, George Michael, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Toni Braxton, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson.
Daniels won a Grammy for his songwriting credit on Destiny's Child Say My Name.
The most recent Grammy nomination was for reality television agitator and singer Tamar Braxton's single Love and War.
He was born in Newark, New Jersey.
He was married to reality television agitator and talent agent April Daniels. LaShawn leaves behind April and their three sons.

Alabama's Republican Governor Kay Ivey is under fire for wearing blackface in a class yearbook photo. The controversial governor who endorsed accused pedophile Roy Moore for his failed U.S. Senate bid also signed House Bill 314. This state law criminalizes abortion as of November 2019 except in cases where the mother's life is threatened or the fetus may not survive, with harsh penalties like 99 years in the iron college mandated to physicians performing such surgery. It also gained infamy for not allowing rape and incest as a reason to a termination.
In her first public appearance since issuing a public apology last week, Ivey, 74, reiterated that she was wrong to appear in the skit over 50 years ago and that it does not reflect who she is today. The Republican governor said she has no plans to quit.

"Heavens no, I'm not going to resign. It's something that happened 52 years ago and I'm not that person. My administration stands on being inclusive and helping people," the Republican governor said.
Ivey last week apologized after a 1967 college radio interview surfaced of her then-fiance Ben LaRavia describing her wearing "black paint all over her face" in a skit called "Cigar Butts" at skit night at the Baptist Student Union. Her office released the recording after university officials discovered it while working on a project to preserve old university records.
Her admission of wearing black face came after she had told The Associated Press in February that she had never done so. Ivey said Tuesday that she doesn't remember the skit.
"I was shocked to hear the tape. I didn't remember being at the Baptist Student Union in any kind of skit like that for sure. But I've apologized for it. I should not have done that. I know it's important to apologize to the people of Alabama," Ivey said Tuesday.
Ivey's public apology drew a mixed reaction.
The Alabama NAACP on Tuesday repeated a call for Ivey to resign. The group pointed to some of her actions as governor, including signing legislation to protect Confederate monuments and other historic statues from being torn down.
"The NAACP believes Governor Ivey needs to do the right thing and resign as Governor and let someone lead the people of Alabama into a brighter and more inclusive future, not the status quo," Benard Simelton, president of the Alabama NAACP, said in a written statement.
The organization said if Ivey is serious about racial reconciliation, she should consider policies such as Medicaid expansion to "level the playing field in areas of education, and healthcare."
Alabama Senate Minority Leader Bobby Singleton, who is African American, said last week that he appreciated Ivey "owning" the incident and apologizing for it.
Ivey said Tuesday that she has mostly received positive reactions.

Ivey is the latest politician to face scrutiny over wearing blackface decades ago. A racist photo in the medical school yearbook of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam led to calls for his resignation. Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring also acknowledged wearing blackface in college.
The skit, which appeared to have taken place in 1967, came three years after the first African American student entered Auburn and six years after segregationist Gov. George Wallace's infamous stand in the school house door to try to block the entry of two African American students at the University of Alabama.
In the radio interview, LaRavia brought up the skit when asked to share their "most hilarious moments" from the skit night. LaRavia said if they ever forget their college days, "all we'd need to do is come back to the Auburn BSU and look at some of those pictures they took that night and I understand we would be quite humbled at this."
"That's true," Ivey replied with a laugh.
Ivey's 1967 senior year yearbook, The Glomerata, shows five of her sorority sisters wearing blackface portraying "minstrels" in a rush skit. Its caption reads, "Alpha Gam Minstrels welcome rushees aboard their showboat." The photo is on the same page as a description of the sorority and the accomplishments of its members. The page notes that Ivey was vice president of the student body.
Ivey told The Associated Press in February she didn't remember the skit or participate in it. When asked if she had done anything that could be perceived as racially insensitive, Ivey replied, "I sure hope not."

A customer pulled a firearm on employees at a local Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurant in Houston, Texas.
Angry customers pulled a gun on the manager of a Popeyes when they were told they were out of chicken sandwiches, investigators said on Monday. It was the latest incident stemming from the widely popular chicken sandwich the company rolled out in late July.

Houston Metro Police were called to the restaurant around 9pm on Monday after reports of a disturbance with a weapon, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The group of males and females had tried ordering the popular chicken sandwich in the drive-thru when they were told it was unavailable.
Then they tried to get inside the restaurant, but a worker was able to lock them out.
"When the manager told them they were out, one of the males became upset and pulled a pistol and demanded a chicken sandwich," said Houston Metro Lt. Larry Crawson. "The manager again informed them they were officially out of sandwiches."
The group would eventually leave the facility and proceed to flee. The law is determining whether charges are going to be filed against the group.

The person who pulled out a firearm could be charged with inducing panic and terrorist threats.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
A man is suing Popeyes for false advertising. He traveled to area locations only to be turned away because the company sold out of the sandwich. He demands $5,000 in putative damages for his vehicle and time lost.
The sandwich was pulled off the menu in early September. The company has promised to bring back the sandwich permanently. However, the damage was done. Folks are calling the decision a PR disaster.

The appeal retailer is geared towards teens and young adults has been exploring restructuring options, but as those run out, the company is thinking about.
The company is privately owned and has more than 800 stores in 57 countries. Retailers have been paring back their network of stores in recent years, Forever 21 was adding stores as recently as 2016. It still has as many stores it reported at that time.
The company did not comment to the junk food media about its possible demise.

The controversial pop singer said that the company and her formed a brief partnership. The deal fell through when the company "failed to pay the fair market value for a celebrity of Ms. Grande's stature."

The company and Riley Rose are accused of "stealing" her image, "name, likeness and other intellectual property to promote their brands for free."
The company vehemently denies using Grande in their marketing campaign.

Walmart is to stop selling ammunition for assault rifles and handguns. They will also ban customers from entering stories with loaded firearms.
After the mass shooting inside a Walmart in El Paso, the company had numerous other events where armed individuals walked into stores. There were shootings inside and outside Walmart properties.

The Bentonville, Arkansas company decided that customers with firearms will be automatically banned from shopping at their locations. There are 4,177 locations in the United States and territories.
The company had sold handguns in Alaska. That was the only state that allowed it. No longer.

And hours after the shooting in El Paso, our country experienced another mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio. This weekend brought tragedy to Midland and Odessa, Texas. In Southaven and El Paso, our associates responded to anger and hate with courage and self-sacrifice. Our immediate priorities were supporting our associates and the impacted families and cooperating with law enforcement. In parallel, we have been focused on store safety and security. We’ve also been listening to a lot of people inside and outside our company as we think about the role we can play in helping to make the country safer. It’s clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable. After visiting El Paso on Aug. 6, I mentioned that we would be thoughtful and deliberate in our responses. We’re ready to share our next steps. We’ve been giving a lot of thought to our sale of firearms and ammunition. We’ve previously made decisions to stop selling handguns or military-style rifles such as the AR-15, to raise the age limit to purchase a firearm or ammunition to 21, to require a “green light” on a background check while federal law only requires the absence of a “red light,” to videotape the point of sale for firearms and to only allow certain trained associates to sell firearms. Today, we’re sharing the decisions we’ve made that go further: • After selling through our current inventory commitments, we will discontinue sales of short-barrel rifle ammunition such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber that, while commonly used in some hunting rifles, can also be used in large capacity clips on military-style weapons; • We will sell through and discontinue handgun ammunition; and • We will discontinue handgun sales in Alaska, marking our complete exit from handguns. We know these decisions will inconvenience some of our customers, and we hope they will understand. As a company, we experienced two horrific events in one week, and we will never be the same. Our remaining assortment will be even more focused on the needs of hunting and sport shooting enthusiasts. It will include long barrel deer rifles and shotguns, much of the ammunition they require, as well as hunting and sporting accessories and apparel. Jeezy released the final chapter of his Thug Motivation series. He says that he's "retiring" from rap music. But before he did, he put down the TM104: The Legend of The Snowman on CTE and Def Jam.
The entertainer was keeping it on the hush but it was a well known secret that he and The Real host Jeanne Mai were an item.

Fox News reported that Kevin Hart's wife Eniko said that he will be off the radar but he'll pull through.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says they will do an investigation into who was driving and whether the person was under the influence of substances. They will issue citations to those involved.
We are not sure on who was the person driving but if alcohol was involved in the incident, someone will have a court date. Someone will likely have a license suspended. Someone is going to spend a night in the county lockup. Someone will have to pay for the medical costs of the victims involved. Someone will have to do some public services announcements. Any incident that traffic violations is still the same. The suspect is innocent until proven in a court of law.

The survey, conducted from Monday through Wednesday by Harper Polling and Clarity Campaign Labs, showed McCready ahead of Bishop, 46 percent to 42 percent, with two third-party candidates receiving a combined 3 percent. Some 8 percent of voters were “unsure” and the survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.19 percentage points.
When voters who were leaning toward one candidate were included, McCready’s advantage extended to 49-44 percent.
In November 2018, McCready finished less than a point behind Republican Mark Harris, but a winner was never certified or seated in Congress because of allegations of fraud by a GOP consultant affiliated with the Harris campaign.

Now September 10 is the special election. Voters need to get out and support Dan McCready.
