Maria Sheron says her husband is fighting for his life, and doctors are asking her to make an impossible decision, this after Kerry Sheron, a 69-year-old army vet, was jumped and beaten nearly to death outside of their Escondido home.
Sheron, a passionate Trump supporter, has been well known in town for rallying outside his house daily, supporting Donald Trump. Neighbors picking up where Kerry left off, with dozens of Trump supporters gathering outside the Sheron home, carrying flags and wearing MAGA hats to show their support for Trump and the Sheron family.
Investigators in the attack have identified no official motive, but neighbors who are Trump supporters believe the violence was politically inspired.
“If we don’t have freedom to put flags on our own homes, then we don’t have freedom,” said Christine Browne, a Trump supporter who drove from an hour away to be here.
“Things were not like this. People were not fighting about race, people were not fighting about political beliefs. My own daughter won’t talk to me and has not talked to me in a year, because of my political beliefs,” said neighbor Cheryl Piner.
Neighbors gathered to pray for Kerry and Maria.
“We are going to show him we love him and support him and that’s why we are here.”
The organizer of the Vigil and Trump Rally says he needed to show a way to help the Sheron family.
