At least he got a Gulf of America hat from Trump.
The Louisiana primary election for U.S. Senate. The shock that rocked the parishes.
In Louisiana, if no candidate wins 50.1% in a primary, they issue a runoff.
Midway Wrap Up at the end of the month.
Damn, President Donald J. Trump still carries weight in the Republican Party despite his tanking job approval.
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) loses his primary bid for reelection to Rep. Julia Letlow (R-LA),the widow of Luke Letlow, an idiot who refused to get vaccinated during the pandemic and died days before he was to serve in the House. Letlow ends up running in his place and won.
Letlow is a former college instructor.

Letlow a clear favorite to be the nominee if the runoff is held.
Trump endorsed her bid for the Senate. It proved to be a winning endorsement.
Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming will be the other candidate who faces Letlow.
Letlow is a clear favorite.
Cassidy was on Trump's radar. Cassidy who voted with the president over 90% of the time became an enemy when he voted with Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) to convict him after the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Trump has also had anger with Cassidy after he sunk Casey Means, an ally of Trump and Secretary of Health And Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Cassidy’s loss further cements Trump’s grip on the GOP as the president looks to exact revenge against Republicans who have crossed him in the past. And it also means another Republican who voted to convict Trump during his 2021 impeachment will not be returning to Congress next year.

John Fleming felt betrayed by Trump.
He is a licensed physician and considered a center right lawmaker.
Fleming told attendees at his election eve rally that he is the “sole conservative” in today’s primary race against Cassidy and Letlow.
Fleming, who served as Trump’s deputy chief of staff during his first term, said the president did not endorse him because he was “under the control” of Landry, the first-term governor who is also backing Letlow.
