Trump gets a lukewarm greeting from Dayton mayor Nan Whaley and Sherrod Brown. |
The imbecile and Melania Trump do a pass through Dayton before they head to El Paso.
Trump did visit Dayton, Ohio briefly. He was supposed to tour the Oregon District and have a somber moment with residents. Turns out he didn't appear at the entertainment district. He visited the corporate Premier Health hospital. He met with three victims (likely supporters) and medical officials. He met with the CEO, Mary H. Boosalis of Premier Health. She closed Good Samaritan Hospital.
He arrived at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to greet Gov. Mike DeWine, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) and mayor Nan Whaley.
He traveled down Interstate 675 and U.S. 35 highways. He exited towards the Premier Hospital.
We love you Dayton, Ohio! pic.twitter.com/IaCZAdyuzL— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 7, 2019
The people I met today in Dayton are the finest anywhere! pic.twitter.com/sBxKZWExcR— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 7, 2019

Once he left after he spent less than two hours in Dayton.
Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally.....— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 7, 2019
....misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing!o— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 7, 2019
.@POTUS and @FLOTUS departing Ohio after spending almost two hours with shooting survivors, family members, first responders, & medical staff at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Truly special moments for everyone that was present. Air Force One now wheels up for El Paso, Texas... https://t.co/wxn5fmTi5y— Dan Scavino Jr.🇺🇸 (@Scavino45) August 7, 2019
Very SAD to see Ohio Senator Brown, & Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley - LYING & completely mischaracterizing what took place w/ the President’s visit to Miami Valley Hospital today. They are disgraceful politicians, doing nothing but politicizing a mass shooting, at every turn they can..— Dan Scavino Jr.🇺🇸 (@Scavino45) August 7, 2019
..The President was treated like a Rock Star inside the hospital, which was all caught on video. They all loved seeing their great President!— Dan Scavino Jr.🇺🇸 (@Scavino45) August 7, 2019
Whaley and Brown both condemned the visit saying that he wasn't sincere in coming.
Not sure what the President thinks @SenSherrodBrown and I misrepresented. As we said, the victims and first responders were comforted by his presence. Let’s hope he’s not one of these all talk, no action politicians and actually does something on gun control. #DoSomething— Nan Whaley (@nanwhaley) August 7, 2019
On Monday, Trump flubbed in his press conference. In his closing remarks, he said, "God bless the many victims of Toledo" and it went viral.
In the video, posted on his Twitter fed, he is filmed from The Beast showing Dayton's skyline and he greets with Premier Health workers and took photos.
Now he's heading to El Paso to greet Gov. Greg Abbott, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX) and mayor Dee Margo. He will speak about the mass shooting at the Walmart, meet with victims and greet supporters. He will address the city around 6pm.
Former lawmaker and presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke denounced the visit.
