Like all Americans, I would like to see the Iowa woman who went missing these last few weeks returned alive and well.
Mollie Tibbetts is getting national attention. The young 20 year old was an University of Iowa student who disappeared two weeks ago near Brooklyn, Iowa.
Many tips are coming in but no clear indication of confirmation.
Police and the family are offering a reward for her safe arrival.
Tibbetts' family believe that she could be still alive.
"The first night she went missing, I was distaught," said her mother, Laura Calderwood. "I knew her phone was dead, but I sent her a text saying, "I love you. We're looking for you. We will find you no matter what."
"Everyday I feel Mollie's presence with me," said Calderwood.
Her father is quick clear that he's determined to find his daughter. Rob Tibbetts, her father, says that he hopes the reward will be a "financial incentive" for people to come forward with information that they may otherwise be hesitant to reveal.
The Kearney Missouri Police thought a lead was strong. They spotted a woman at a local truck stop over 200 miles away. That lead turned up to be false.
The boyfriend Dalton Jack said that he is hoping his girlfriend is alive and well. He planned on marrying the young woman in the Dominican Republic. Police had formally cleared Jack in the disappearance. He was in Dubuque, Iowa at the time.
We hope that Mollie is found safe and sound.
Now onto the issue that makes me boil. The junk food media's coverage of this. How many people of color went missing without national coverage? How many women are missing since Mollie Tibbetts went missing?

I mean I am amazed that for every dramatized event involving a missing white woman there's always someone waiting on making a movie or passing a law.
New York woman calls the law on a woman of color after confronting her standing outside a doorway.
Darsell Obregon claims that a white woman called the law on her last week after she tried to get out of the rain. She stood outside a Brooklyn apartment building.
The woman who made the call on her was identified as Arabella Juniper Torres, a white woman who came out the building screaming at Obregon to leave her property or she will call the police.
Darsell was waiting on an Uber pick up and this white woman decided to get riled up over a woman of color standing near her doorway.
This was shared on Facebook and it went viral.
Obregon said she was on her way to a subway station when it started raining. During a thunderstorm, she sought cover near a small space outside an apartment building. She decided to use her Uber app to request a ride.
Soon the woman, Torres comes out saying she better leave, now.
"No more than three minutes later a young woman who lives in the building opened the front door and told me that I can not stand there and had to leave," said Obregon. "I told her I was not going to move (unbeknownst to her I was just waiting for my ride and would be leaving in a couple of minutes) so then she proceeded to call the police..."
Darsell Obregon was harassed by a white woman after she waited on an Uber.
On the video, Torres said, "Ma'am this is not public property. So you're sending an officer because now she's recording me? I asked her to leave and now she's refusing."
Then afterwards, Obregon heads to her Uber with Torres in tow. Torres demanded the Uber driver stop his vehicle and let her out.
"If you go anywhere, you'll be committing a crime as well; you know that right?"
Then she goes for the license plate of the Uber driver and she continued to call 911.

On occasions, Hannity may invite controversial figures on his program. He has invited David Clarke, Jr., the former Milwuakee County sheriff, Sarah Palin, Diamond & Silk, Roseanne Barr, Steve Bannon, Michelle Malkin, Tomi Lahren and Mark Levin. Each of these figures are extremely disturbing and are often banned on mainstream outlets.
Hannity has helped Fox & Friends, Jeanine Pirro, Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham. They soak in some Trump and had their ratings skyrocket as well.
They are controversial figures in their own right.
We all agree that Hannity is a well paid agitator. But in fact, he's by far the most annoying and condescending media personality to ever exist. His right wing carnival is nothing but a screamfest. In the city of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, a Kirkersville police chief's death opened a state and federal investigation into his behavior. These are the dirty cops who plant evidence on motorists. These are the dirty cops who are drug runners, drug lords and users as well.
Again, no is perfect. But this incident gives a black eye to those who serve the badge without bias or prejudice.
As you know, Donald J. Trump promised to do something about the opioid crisis. He said that he got the best people involved in the matter.

Ohio authorities and the FBI are going to get involved in the death of James Hughes, Jr., the 35 year old police chief of the Columbus, Ohio suburb.
Hughes was accused of stealing evidence obtained from the room.
He was found dead by his wife in May.
An investigation saw police seize three syringes, one with fentanyl inside, one tested positive for the deadly drug. There was LSD, heroin and cocaine found inside his home.
James Hughes is a dirty cop.
He was appointed police chief recently after the previous one resigned. He started his job as the police chief of Kirkersville, Ohio only a few years in.
The town is embarrassed by this dirty cop's behavior. The city of Reynoldsburg also is shocked by this. Had he been vetted, they would have immediately fired his ass out the cannon. He would have been able to get the help he needed.
There were incidents of disorderly conduct by Hughes. There was an incident in Whitehall where he got into a heated argument with a Black fast food worker. He called the worker a racial slur.

Hughes had a crappy record as a police officer and later chief. He was then a member of the tiny hamlet of Brice, Ohio Police. He was laid off after he was doing a poor job.
Hughes was being paid an salary of $50,000 for a measly 32 hour work week.
Ohio State University coach Urban Meyer heads to the showers after it was revealed he knew about domestic violence
Ohio State University is dealing with the #MeToo Movement. It seems to ensnare one of the highest paid college football coaches in the country.
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is also ensnared in this as well. Over 30 men claim that Jordan, then assistant coach of Ohio State's men's wrestling team ignored the sexual abuse of a former doctor.
Jordan is trying to become the House Speaker. He is not resigning from Congress, yet.
Urban Meyer is trending tonight. The Buckeyes football coach was placed in the freezer after he failed to follow up on a protocol involving an assistant coach.
Meyer was placed on paid after it was revealed he knew about a former coach's domestic violence allegation against his wife.
Zach Smith physically abused his wife, Courtney and coach Meyer knew about it and done nothing to stop it.
The allegations were bad enough to have Ohio State administrators send Meyer to the showers and Smith to the firing cannon.
University of Michigan, the longtime rivals of Ohio State are having a field day with this. Matter of fact, this could hurt the national rankings of the team given that Meyer isn't there to assist them.
Ohio State University announced it is investigating Courtney Smith's claims that several people close to the coach knew of a 2015 allegation of domestic violence against her ex-husband, former Ohio State assistant football coach Zach Smith, who was fired in July.
Offensive coordinator Ryan Day will be the team's acting head coach during the investigation.
"We are focused on supporting our players and on getting to the truth as expeditiously as possible," the school said in a statement.
Courtney Smith told college football reporter Brett McMurphy her allegations in a story posted on his Facebook page earlier Wednesday.
"All the [coaches'] wives knew," Smith told McMurphy. "They all did. Every single one."
Smith told Stadium, a multi-platform sports network, that she believes that Meyer also knew at the time.
"I do believe he knew, and instead he chose to help the abuser and enable the abuser and believe whatever story Zach was telling everybody," Smith said.
Zach Smith was fired out the cannon in May.
Ohio State opens practice Friday.
"[Athletic director] Gene [Smith] and I agree that being on leave during this inquiry will facilitate its completion. This allows the team to conduct training camp with minimal distraction. I eagerly look forward to the resolution of this matter," Meyer said in a statement.
Meyer's contract extension signed in April includes language requiring him to report any violations by staff members of Ohio State's sexual misconduct policy to the university's athletics Title IX coordinator. Also, as an Ohio State employee who supervises others, Meyer is required by the university's sexual misconduct policy to report knowledge of domestic abuse by a university employee. According to the policy, "An individual need not be charged with or convicted of a criminal offense to be found responsible for domestic violence pursuant to this policy."
Meyer's original contract required him to promptly report any violations of university rules by assistant coaches to Gene Smith and the Office of Compliance Services. Failure to do so could result in termination with cause.
Meyer's contract states that if Ohio State is considering terminating with cause, he would have the right to "explain the circumstances with his point of view before termination, unless the circumstances are so heinous that, in Ohio State's reasonable judgment, it would be impossible for [Meyer] to justify his actions."
Courtney Smith is in fear of her life. She is getting death threats from crazed fans of the Ohio State Buckeye community for speaking out.
Courtney Smith told McMurphy that Meyer's wife, Shelley knew about the 2009 and 2015 allegations and that they often discussed Zach Smith's abuse of her, including sharing pictures.
"Shelley said she was going to have to tell Urban," Courtney Smith said. "I said: 'That's fine, you should tell Urban.' I know Shelley did everything she could."
But in the Stadium interview, Courtney Smith said that Shelley Meyer never confirmed that she told her husband about the abuse.
"She did not. She did not," Courtney Smith said of Shelley Meyer. "She would reach out to me, ask me how I'm doing, tell me she was worried, if I needed anything, she was there."

The New York Times reported last week that investigators have been looking at Trump's Twitter rants to determine whether they’re part of an attempt to obstruct justice.
Magoo recused himself from matters involving the investigation last year, after he lied about his meetings with Russian officials while an adviser to Trump's campaign. His deputy later appointed Mueller as special counsel to pursue the probe.
Since then, Trump has frequently raged at Magoo. He has suggested the attorney general should not have recused himself, and has lamented naming Sessions to the Cabinet post.
Trump's new tweet tirade came as the public gets a deeper view of Mueller's investigation. On Tuesday, a trial began for former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, charged with money laundering and fraud related to his work as a pro-Russia lobbyist in Ukraine.
Trump, who has repeatedly tried to distance himself Manafort by citing his "short time" with the 2016 campaign, claimed Wednesday that the trial had "nothing to do with Collusion" and again referred to Mueller's investigation as "a Hoax."

Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!
Russian Collusion with the Trump Campaign, one of the most successful in history, is a TOTAL HOAX. The Democrats paid for the phony and discredited Dossier which was, along with Comey, McCabe, Strzok and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, used to begin the Witch Hunt. Disgraceful!
Looking back on history, who was treated worse, Alfonse Capone, legendary mob boss, killer and “Public Enemy Number One,” or Paul Manafort, political operative & Reagan/Dole darling, now serving solitary confinement - although convicted of nothing? Where is the Russian Collusion?

Trump is accused of conspiring with foreign adversaries to deliberately damage opponents like Hillary Clinton. Trump continues to deny this and keeps calling this a "witch hunt."
It already seems like Russia is actively working on hurting Democrats chances for the 2018 U.S. Midterms. Facebook had purged 32 phony profiles that pushed anti-Trump kookspiracies.
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) was targeted by Russian agents in an attempt to hack her campaign website.
Also in Tampa, Trump held a campaign rally for Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), a candidate running for governor of Florida. The two whipped up the crowd. The crowd threatened Jim Acosta, a White House reporter for CNN.
The crowd had a handful of kookspiracy Q Anon attendees. These attendees still believe that Hillary Clinton and her allies were involved in Pizzagate and the death of Seth Rich.
The things I've seen on social media makes me think....a lot.
This happened in New York City. An Uber driver might want to pack it up. He may have lost his partnership after a woman filmed him launch a passenger into a fountain.
“Fuck this shit! Don’t disrespect me like that,” shouts the driver to the man he throws. “The fuck you think this shit is! You rich fuck!”
The person who caught the incident and posted it on Facebook, Kara Flagg, explained the backstory in the comments section.
“Ok so here’s the things you didn’t see leading up to this. The big dude was totally right for doing this,” she wrote. “He was a driver for the little guy. When he was in his truck he kept telling the little guy to stop disrespecting him in his vehicle. Politely and sternly.”
That warning went unheeded, apparently, and things escalated. “The little guy kept going and going with his mouth till the big guy got out and asked him to exit the vehicle. Once he got him out the little guy KEPT going and he very clearly warned to stop.”
The NYPD will now investigate this.
Mind you that Uber does have a panic button. The driver could have stopped the vehicle and called the police.
