Jet Magazine Goes Digital!

Legendary comic Bernie Mac was featured.
Johnson Publications, Inc. is about to end the longstanding pocket magazine. It's going to go to the online websites.

Jet is an American weekly marketed toward African-American readers, founded in 1951 by John H. Johnson of Johnson Publishing Company in Chicago, Illinois.

Initially billed as "The Weekly Negro News Magazine", Jet is notable for its role in chronicling the early days of the American Civil Rights movement from its earliest years, including coverage of the Emmett Till murder, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and Martin Luther King, Jr.

In 2014, Johnson Publishing Company indicated that it would cease publishing Jet issues at the end of June, continuing solely as a digital magazine app.

Jet contains fashion and beauty tips, entertainment news, dating advice, political coverage, health tips, and diet guides, in addition to covering events such as fashion shows. The cover photo usually corresponds to the focus of the main story. Some examples of cover stories might be a celebrity's wedding, Mother's Day, or a recognition of the achievements of a notable African American. Many issues are given coverage to show the African-American community that if they want to reach a goal, they have to be willing to work for it. Jet also claims to give young female adults confidence and strength because the women featured therein are strong and successful without the help of a man.

Its sister magazine Ebony will continue to publish magazines.

Ohio Teen Getting Hit With Shovel Goes Viral! [NSFW]

Dayton, Ohio teens girls get into a fight. One young girl throws the shovel at the young girl. It goes viral.

Bethel Township, Ohio at the National Road trail park was the talk of the nation this week.

The young girls and the young guy who filmed the video have gotten their share of death threats and wow moments.

Miranda Fugate got into a fight with Emily Olinger-Powers. It all started with a war of words between Miranda and Emily over a guy they knew. Olinger (Powers) went ahead and toss the shovel at Fugate.

The young man, Josh Officer who uploaded the video was contacted by global junk food media outlets after the video went viral.

The Dayton Daily News reports nearly seven minutes into the video, Fugate is seen chasing after Olinger, who is headed for a door to a house. Fugate stops and turns back when she sees that Olinger has a shovel in her hand. Fugate runs and Olinger hurls the shovel, hitting Fugate in the back of the head. Fugate then falls to the ground.

“I told her to leave again, and she refused, so then the first thing I saw was my shovel. I picked it up and then she said, ‘OK, OK’ and by the time she said she was done, I already hit her with it,” Olinger said. “I’ve been bullied ever since I was in the fourth grade, and that’s why I hit her with the shovel because I’m tired of it.”

This event has led to the Montgomery and Miami County boys in blue to investigate who may catch a felony case.

Fugate wasn't seriously injured after the shovel hit the head, but it did managed to get her in trouble for violating her probation. The young teen is currently in the juvenile lockup after violating her probation.

Fugute social networking page increased 340% this week. As of today, she has over 45,000 followers on Twitter.

Heavy, a viral website describes the 8-minute video of the fight. The battle seems to be pre-arranged. The two obviously don't like each other, but they fight surrounded by their friends and with a lot of set ground rules. They wait for each other to be ready to fight and even giggle before going at it. But the punching and face shots are rough.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office is questioning the teens involved to determine if it was real or a hoax, according to Sheriff’s Major Steve Lord.

Olinger who went to the junk food media to tell her side of the story said that she was bullied and this event was sparked by a spurned relationship with another guy. Olinger may face charges in Miami County and the Bethel school district may possibly expel her.

A truancy officer in Miami County saw the video on Youtube and reported what he saw to the authorities. This resulted in a Bethel High School administrator reporting the incident to the sheriff’s office on Monday.

After questioning the parties involved, the sheriff’s office will decide whether to pursue charges with the prosecutor’s office, according to Lord.

Emily Olinger who also goes by the social network name Emily Powers has gotten her share of fame and death threats after she pummeled Miranda Fugate with a shovel.
“Anytime you’re dealing with an assault that’s potentially deadly, you run a risk. In this case, what the law is going to look at in Ohio is whether that injury is substantial physical harm or less than serious physical harm. If it’s determined to be serious physical harm then that could be a felony,” Lord said. “Also, if you start hitting people in the head with a shovel, it can lead to death.”

When asked her reaction to the fact that her son shot the video, Officer’s mother Martha Allison said, “I felt like he was just a kid, doing what he does best. I don’t think he had any feeling over it. I really haven’t talked to him about it. We’re just more or less excited about the notoriety and how it’s gotten so big.”

Apple Sauce: Dr. Dre About To Sell Beats Audio!

Dr. Dre in 2011.jpgPayday for Andre Romelle Young! If the media mogul sells off his headphone and stereo accessories to APPLE, it may net him $3.2 billion.

Dr. Dre is making the rounds again with the Beats Audio.

The company was founded by rapper and hip-hop producer Andre "Dr. Dre" Young and Interscope-Geffen-A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine and primarily produces products under the brand "Beats by Dr. Dre". The company has also licensed audio technology to other companies for use in their own products, and also acquired MOG in 2012 to expand into the online music market.

From 2009 to 2012, its products were exclusively manufactured by the consumer electronics company Monster Cable. Following the expiration of its contract, Beats began to self-manufacture its products.

The New York Times reports that Apple is in discussions to buy Beats Electronics, the company behind the popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, for $3.2 billion, according to people briefed on the talks, in what would be the biggest acquisition in Apple’s history.

The deal would also include the new Beats Music streaming service, which was introduced in January as a competitor to Spotify and Pandora, and could signal an effort by Apple to transform its approach to music more than a decade after it opened the iTunes download store.

A deal has not been consummated, and the negotiations could still fall apart, according to these people, who declined to be identified speaking about it publicly. But if it is completed, the sale could be announced as early as next week, the people said. Apple and Beats declined to comment.

For Apple, whose revenue growth has slowed sharply in the last few years, the deal could point to a headlong move into the frontier of streaming music. The company, which only last year released its streaming product, iTunes Radio, has been slow to enter the streaming world.

A purchase of Beats would also give Apple a hot product and an even hotter brand, founded by the rapper Dr. Dre and the music executive Jimmy Iovine. After its enormous successes with the iPhone and iPad, Apple has been under intense pressure from investors to unveil new products, but none have yet been released.

Dr. Dre has shelved his final album Detox.

The media mogul recently loss established act Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson after years of delay of his sixth album Street King Immortal.

Aftermath Entertainment is the home of Dr. Dre, Eminem. rap producer Mr. Porter (aka Kon Artis) and Kendrick Lamar.

GOP Fundraising Off Benghazi!

We need answers!

We need your money so we can get the answers to why four Americans were killed on September 11, 2012. It's essential that we, the Republican Party succeed in making President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton responsible for the deliberate cover up of Benghazi.

Right off the bat, the Democrats are saying this Benghazi tragedy is being used to rile up votes for the Midterm. They're correct.

Because the Republicans jobs plan is mainly to save theirs.

Republicans are once again investigating the lead ups to the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Libya.

That killed Libyan Ambassador J. Christopher Stephens and three other men.

Republicans once again waste our taxpayer dollars on a committee hearing that might net them little to nothing. The committee being led by politico Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is going to be partisan event.

The National Republican Congressional Committee is raising money off this.

Weeper of the House, John Boehner (R-OH) was asked three times about fundraising emails sent by the National Republican Congressional Committee that sought to capitalize on this week's announcement of a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attacks.

"Our focus is on getting the answers to those families who lost their loved ones. Period," Boehner said.

Boehner was pressed again on why the NRCC, the committee charged with helping to elect Republicans to the House, is using the issue as a fundraising opportunity.

"Our focus is getting the truth for these four families and the American people," Boehner said, only to repeat the line moments later when another reporter raised the same question.

The NRCC has thus far refused to back down from fundraising campaigns related to Benghazi. Andrea Bozek, the group's communications director, said the Obama administration had been dishonest with the American people about the attacks, which occurred on an American diplomatic mission.

The conservatives are pushing Republicans into these investigations into just about everything.

They found Lois Lerner in contempt of Congress. The partisan vote concluded with Republicans finding that the former IRS head was responsible for denying Tea Party groups applications.

Democrats are mum on boycotting the whole ordeal.

FEC: Hannity And Drudge Are A Political Operation!

Those two conservative agitators are fueling the extremism. The right media is ablaze over a FEC chair saying some things that might rile up the base yet again.

He believes That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall and That Guy Who Helped Obama Win are two primary factors to Republican fundraising.

“I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers,” warned Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman in an interview.

“The right has begun to break the left’s media monopoly, particularly through new media outlets like the internet, and I sense that some on the left are starting to rethink the breadth of the media exemption and internet communications,” he added.

Government officials, says the Washington Examiner, reacting to the growing voice of conservative news outlets, especially on the internet, are angling to curtail the media's exemption from federal election laws governing political organizations, a potentially chilling intervention that the chairman of the Federal Election Commission is vowing to fight.

Goodman said that protecting conservative media, especially those on the internet, “matters to me because I see the future going to the democratization of media largely through the internet. They can compete with the big boys now, and I have seen storm clouds that the second you start to regulate them, there is at least the possibility or indeed proclivity for selective enforcement, so we need to keep the media free and the internet free.”

FEC has considered regulating conservative media, including That Guy Who Helped Obama's radio show and Citizens United's movie division. Those efforts to lift the media exemption died in split votes at the politically evenly divided board, often with Democrats seeking regulation.

Cold Heat Pt. 3: Accused Shooters Found Not Guilty!

Michael Hall known as Mic Lansky and Korwyn Moore both dodged a lengthy iron college stay. Both men were found not guilty in the deaths of two men.
Dayton men were found not guilty in murder back in 2013. The Heat nightclub was closed late last year after the suburb of Huber Heights pulled the plug on the liquor license of the establishment.

The Heat was a spot for hip-hop entertainers and was known for its continuous calls for public disturbances.

Michael Hall and Korwyn Moore were found not guilty in the murders of Charles Bell III and Michael's brother Keenan. Hall is a known Midwest rapper. Hall goes by the name of Mic Lansky.

According to witnesses, there was a fight at the club and it poured outside. All of sudden, gunfire. Two men were hit. One dead on the scene. Another died at the hospital. And one was injured but survived.
The nightclub owner gave up her fight to keep her establishment in Huber Heights. She vows to open up another location in the future.
Huber Heights police and Dayton police along with FBI were looking into how this occurred. The club had security, cameras and also a shoddy history.

The club owner Jessica Kennedy managed to fight off Huber Heights in the beginning. Her establishment lost their liquor license earlier that year. She turned her nightclub into a teen club in which alcohol wasn't a part of the club. For the time being, she would fight the suburb in the state court.

The state decided to allow her to continue to serve alcohol.

Only few weeks later this event would occur.

You know the knot heads of the community continue to push all "us Black folk" down. They just can't keep their egos outside. It's apparent even in a suburban nightclub where security was at its highest, guns are plentiful.

Of course this incident spooks the sleepy residents of Huber Heights. Many think that if they want this type of drama, they'll move to Dayton.

I hear this stuff especially from conservative minded individuals who believe the Black men are "natural born criminals". Despite all the changes to keep patrons safe, that shooting killed two men and leaving one injured.

It doomed the nightclub. After November, the Heat was officially closed.

Dayton Daily News reports that the jury of 10 women and two men deliberated for about an hour and a half late Tuesday afternoon and resumed at 8:30 this morning before reaching a verdict just after 1 p.m. There were 10 Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies in the courtroom for security reasons.

Korwyn hasn't escaped the iron college yet. He's probably going to get five years in the iron college for having a weapon under disability.

Sad that Charles Bell III's family won't get justice. They watch as two men who have criminal history be free to continue their reign of hate and terror upon the Black community.

Yeah, I said Black community. These guys aren't WHITE EXTREMISTS!

These guys are Black and they're more of these individuals out there killing Blacks.

23: Them Days Growing Up, I Couldn't Stand White Folks!

Growing up in North Carolina when he was young, Michael Jordan was pretty upset over how his family was treated during them days of Jim Crow.

The Donald Sterling controversy is slowing calming down. The LA Clippers have advance to the finals. They ended the Golden State Warriors chances last week. Now they're taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder to advance.

The team has been in the news as of recently. Donald Sterling is their owner. The owner was on the phone with his mistress and I guess she recorded him making a racist tirade against Blacks. The NBA laid the hammer on Sterling. They banned him from every NBA game for life.

This is has pleased a majority of the fans and players of the sport. They believe that there's no place for racism, homophobia and religious discrimination in the NBA.

Legends had spoken out about the controversy. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and even Air Jordan (aka 23 or His Airness) had spoken out.

Michael Jordan.

He's a god among the basketball faithful.

The legendary NBA star is in a featured biography about his life growing up in North Carolina.

One reveling part of his autobiography was the apparent dislike of White people.

"Michael Jordan: The Life," a new biography about the six-time NBA champion by sportswriter Roland Lazenby that hit shelves this week.

NBC News reports that Jordan told Lazenby that he was suspended from school in 1977 after throwing a soda at a girl who called him the N-word.

"So I threw a soda at her," Jordan's quoted as saying. "I was really rebelling. I considered myself a racist at the time. Basically, I was against all white people."

Lazenby told Sports Illustrated that it appeared that the root of Jordan's animosity came from growing up in an area of North Carolina where the Ku Klux Klan once had a large presence.

"I've been to North Carolina hundreds of times and enjoy it tremendously, but North Carolina was a state that had more Klan members than the rest of the Southern states combined," the author said. "As I started looking at newspapers back in this era when I was putting together [Michael's great-grandfather] Dawson Jordan's life, the Klan was like a chamber of commerce. It bought the uniforms for ball teams, it put Bibles in all the schools. It may well have ended up being a chamber of commerce if not for all the violence it was perpetrating, too. A lot of the context just wasn't possible to put it in a basketball book. A lot of it ended up being cut."

Jordan's story is "an economic story," Lazenby continued. "It's a black power story. It doesn't come from politics or protests, it comes right off the Coastal Plain of North Carolina and out of the African-American experience."

"As a former player, I'm completely outraged," the NBA Hall of Famer said. "There is no room in the NBA--or anywhere else--for the kind of racism and hatred that Mr. Sterling allegedly expressed. I am appalled that this type of ignorance still exists within our country and at the highest levels of our sport. In a league where the majority of players are African-American, we cannot and must not tolerate discrimination at any level."

Michael Jordan, the retired six time NBA champ recently got remarried to Yvette Prieto, a model and actress. He divorced his longtime wife Juanita, the mother of his children in 2007.

Michael Jordan is the father of three from Juanita and two from Yvette.

He is the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats Hornets.
