The March On Washington Told By First Black President!

Obama: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speech inspired a nation. King. The 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

President Barack Obama, former presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter are headliners at the 50th Anniversary of the March On Washington. It's not clear if the two other living presidents will be speakers at this event, but the Bushes aren't speaking. It's clear that Republicans have no intent on making any statements on this historic day.

Oh, I see that The Guy Who Throws Shit On The Wall posted that Senator Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) wasn't "invited" to the event. He could of have went to the event. The more the better. But unlike, the president, Scott doesn't have any intentions to help those of color. Scott would never have been there. He wouldn't even join the Historically Black Caucus members.

The racist right once had Chalk E. Becker, Alveda King and Palin Da Ass speak on the steps of the Lincoln memorial for their stupid Tea Party rally. They had the audacity to speak upon the name of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while attacking the first Black president.

Alveda King is the niece of the late civil rights leader. She thinks "Uncle Martin" was a great man. Being only a single digit at the time of his death, she and others created the notion that her uncle was a Republican.

And also being a former member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, King has spoke out against her cousins (the surviving children of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.) and the NAACP for advocating a "racist" agenda against Whites and the Republican Party.

President Barack Obama delivers his passionate remarks.

His speech would have detractors. The detractors are of course, the racist right.

They'll complain no matter what the president does!

So it wouldn't matter.

March On Washington Celebrates 50 Years!

Can we achieve the dream?

August 28, 1963 was the movement of progressive change. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. managed to pull hundreds of thousands of individuals from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument to deliver a speech to demand equal rights.

The celebration of 50 years will commerce on Washington today with the Rev. Perm (Al Sharpton) and Martin Luther King III. They're promoting the March On Washington in regards to issues that made the news.

The leaders say their agenda revolves around five areas: Economic parity, equity in education, voting rights, health care access and criminal justice.

Of course, priority one is the Supreme Court's striking down a portion of the Voter's Right Act. That's one of the main issues that has the Civil Right leaders upset. Then comes the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. Yeah, a lot of Black people are upset that a reckless man walked free when he shot an unarmed teenager. We also have the controversial NYPD stop and frisk tactics. The federal court rejected the policy and the New York mayor Michael Bloomberg tells the media, full steam ahead. And of course, the Chris Lane murder. The racist right have made noise about the Oklahoma tragedy. A man from Australia was killed by two Black teens and the racist right has claimed that the Civil Rights leaders don't care about crimes against White people. This will be a topic at the event.

In 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr., standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial, delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech advocating racial harmony during the march.

button2
The march was organized by a group of civil rights, labor, and religious organizations, under the theme "jobs, and freedom".

Estimates of the number of participants varied from 200,000 to 300,000.

It's not determined on how many will show up for this event. But if people are hoping for progressive change, it's going to be a large crowd. Hopefully a large crowd can bring forth a voice of reason and voice of change.

The president's agenda has been squandered by the racist right. The Republicans and their allies in the conservative movement have maintained this notion that if the president fails, the country wins or perhaps they win.

They've lost. They're losing badly in the shifting demographics. They can't rally the old bigots anymore.

They're dying off. And now what's left is trying to convince their offspring that it's possible to save what's left of the "good ol' days".

The mission statement:

August 28, 2013 citizens from across this country will converge upon our nation’s capital to commemorate and celebrate the historic March On Washington which occurred 50 years ago on August 28, 1963.This site provides information and updates on the numerous commemorative marches that are being planned throughout this country.  In addition, this site provides citizens an opportunity to leave their remembrances and pictures of the march that changed the world.

Al Sharpton Signs To Cash Money Records!

Controversial civil rights activist is joining Cash Money Records for book deal.

The controversial liberal agitator and civil rights activist is joining hip-hop label for the publishing of his book.

Al Sharpton, the MSNBC host and the founder of the National Action Network has officially join the ranks of entertainers Lil' Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj and Busta Rhymes.

Sharpton entered a deal in which Cash Money Records will publish his book The Rejected Stone.

The Southern-based hip-hop label has expanded into rock, movie production and now book publishing.

Cash Money Records signed on some veteran acts and some unusual talents to the roster.

The label had signed on rock group Limp Bizkit, celebrity agitator/hotel heiress Paris Hilton, Mystikal, a former No Limit Records artist who was sent to the iron college after being convicted of rape, and Bow Wow, a former So So Def artist who rose to fame on his preteen album releases.

Sharpton told The Associated Press on Thursday that the book, titled The Reject Stone, would include his thoughts on Lil Wayne and other rappers and that he was anxious to have a positive dialogue.

Ironically, Lil' Wayne and Sharpton have had disagreements over the years including one over the use of the b-word and n-word in the rap lyrics. Weezy would later refer to Rev. Sharpton as Don King with a perm.

The Reject Stone is due out on October 8 and will track Sharpton’s progress from “personal evolution” to New York street activist to political candidate, civil rights spokesman and television host.

Lil' Wayne appears on Cash Money Records. He is affiliated with Young Money Entertainment.

Drake appears on Cash Money Records. He is affiliated with Young Money Entertainment and October's Very Own Records.

Bryan "Birdman" Williams appears on Cash Money Records.

Nicki Minaj appears on Cash Money Records. She is affiliated with Young Money Entertainment.

All mentioned in this article appear on Cash Money Records. Cash Money Records is disturbed through Universal Republic Records, a division of the UMG Group.

Ohio Lawmakers Want To Pull The Camera Trap!

The Redflex traffic cameras may get banned by Ohio legislators. This one is located in Toledo, Ohio. This city and many others in the state have numerous cameras in areas located at high traffic intersections.

My community and neighboring areas advocate red light/speed cameras. These devices are placed at localities where traffic is at its peak. Many Americans who pass drive through the intersections are subject to stop at the red light. The camera triggers if the vehicle drive pass a sensor installed on the road.

It triggers a photo of the vehicle. It calculates the speed of the vehicle and the driver.

My community of Dayton, Ohio and its suburbs Trotwood and West Carrollton have red light and speed cameras. They impose a hefty fine for those run through the cameras.

Other communities in the metro area include Springfield, Middletown, Hamilton, and Elmwood Place.

Big cities such as Cleveland, Toledo and Columbus have red light and speed cameras as well.

Republican and Democratic state lawmakers are putting a halt to the traffic cameras. They've cleared a bill through the state house and it's going to the state senate. The bill if signed into law will end the Redflex contracts with city governments and advocate traffic cameras to be around school zones and special event sites.
The village of Elmwood Place was one of the communities that had traffic cameras. That camera pulled in over $1.8 million in traffic citations. Elmwood Place is located in Hamilton County, near Cincinnati.
The local police of jurisdictions with traffic cameras disagree with the bill and hope the governor will consider their concerns.

The Toledo Blade reports that in a 61-32 vote pitting Big Brother against safety concerns, the Ohio House on Wednesday voted to permanently disconnect red-light cameras across the state and all but ban the use of cameras to catch speeders.

The sole exception would be mobile speed cameras to enforce 20-mph school zones during restricted hours, but even then, the cameras would have to come with police backup.

Those holding civil citations they’ve received by mail because of those cameras shouldn’t think about throwing them away just yet. The Senate will leave for the summer later this week without taking up House Bill 69, putting the debate on hold until autumn at the earliest.

Driving much of the criticism is the speed-camera program run by Elmwood Place, a small village near Cincinnati. The program was decried by a Hamilton County judge as a “scam that the motorists can’t win.”

“Six thousand tickets in 30 days at $105 … with 40 percent of the revenue going to an outside company that is not located in the state of Ohio…,” Rep. Alicia Reece (D., Cincinnati) said. She represents Elmwood Place and a portion of Cincinnati, which rejected the cameras at the polls.
Speed cameras are being placed in communities to catch speeders on major roads. This one is located in Dayton, Ohio.
“It has become a money grab,” she said.

Rep. Rex Damschroder (R., Fremont), chairman of the House Transportation, Public Safety, and Homeland Security Committee, urged his colleagues not to cast what he characterized as a vote against public safety and for local tax increases.

“These lawbreakers are paying, and they’re paying big bucks for breaking the law,” he said. “The city of Toledo, Mayor [Mike] Bell came in and told how important this is to the city of Toledo — not just for public safety.

“They make about $4 million a year,” he said. “If we vote for this bill, we are going to be voting for tax increases for Toledo, because somehow their public safety department is going to be $4 million short. Somehow Toledo is going to have to make that up. And every town in Ohio that has been using this device to control speed is going to make up those deficits.”

The bill was sponsored by Reps. Ron Maag (R., Lebanon) and Dale Mallory (D., Cincinnati), and the vote crossed party lines. Of the northwest Ohio delegation, Reps. Michael Ashford (D., Toledo), Lynn Wachtmann (R., Napoleon), Robert Sprague (R., Findlay), Tony Burkley (R., Payne), and Jeff McClain (R., Upper Sandusky) supported the bill.

Joining Mr. Damschroder in opposition were Reps. Teresa Fedor (D., Toledo), Mike Sheehy (D., Oregon), Barbara Sears (R., Monclova Township), Tim Brown (R., Bowling Green), and Chris Redfern (D., Catawba Island).

Attempts to find some middle ground, standards that the roughly 15 municipalities with camera programs must follow, have come up empty so far.

Most of Ohio’s largest cities have camera programs. Toledo took in nearly $3 million in fines in 2012 and expects $4.2 million this year. Northwood, in Wood County, recently allowed its contract with its camera operator to expire, so that program has gone dark.

In Toledo, citations cost violators $120, of which $90.25 belongs to the city. Toledo last year went from collecting $65 on the $120 fine to collecting the greater amount.

Feds: Ohio Suburb Is Ordered To Have Public Transit!

The United States Justice Department and National Highway Traffic And Safety Administration ordered Ohio city to advocate public transit to the nearby hospital and two shopping malls.

Again, I am from Dayton, Ohio. A city that's located in the western portion of the state, Dayton is one of the rust belt cities where Americans are still divided over issues such as race, class and economic standings.

The city is the hub of Montgomery County. The population of the city at present time is 138,000 people.

It's the center of the Miami Valley region. The region sits around the Great Miami and Little Miami Rivers.
The Greene, a town center complex that is located in the Dayton, Ohio suburb of Beavercreek.
Dayton is considered an economic wasteland. The blight and eyesores of abandoned buildings made the city prone to arsonists. Prostitution is on the rise. Crime is prevalent in many neighborhoods. There are no little to no national establishments on the western side of the city.

The city is close to being a minority-majority city.

With manufacturing drying up, the city is left with nothing but service oriented jobs with little to no pay for those who once built cars and airplanes. The young have migrated to bigger cities in order to find better jobs.

The older generation fear that crime will drive them to move away to the suburbs. And those who lived in the suburbs will eventually migrate further away from the city and suburbs.

Dayton is slated to have a horse racing track and casino, a truck stop and added the revitalization of Interstate 75, the city is trying rebound. Interstate 75 is the major north and south highway that travels from Canada to Miami, Florida.

Before John Kasich got into office, the Republican ran on the notion that cuts are good for the economy.

Dayton and Columbus, Ohio were hoping that Amtrak was on its way back. Kasich cut this train funds and placed it into pro-Republican businesses. Dayton was hoping that high speed rail would bring the city back.

Unfortunately won't happen anytime soon. So what's left is the public transit. A city such as Dayton must accommodate to its residents with public transportation. That's where the Greater Dayton Regional Transportation Authority comes into play. The RTA has 34 routes and it covers most of the Dayton area.
The Mall at Fairfield Commons sits on the corridor of Interstate 675, a bypass on the eastern outskirts of Dayton.
Unfortunately it doesn't cover the Dayton International Airport, and two nearby suburbs. The cities of Fairborn and Beavercreek have bus service only to serve Wright State University, Clark State College-Beavercreek campus, and the Wright Patterson Air Force Base.

The Greater Dayton RTA was handed a victory today. The public transit for the community is granted a right to have bus stops near The Greene, the Soin Medical Center, the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Wright State University.

These facilities are located in Beavercreek, Ohio, a suburb that located six miles from Dayton.

The residents of Beavercreek are pretty conservative. The area appears to favor Republicans over Democrats in the last elections.

The Greene County Area Transit Authority (Green CATS) and Greater Dayton Regionnal Transit Authority have long complained about the city of Beavercreek not allowing access to the malls and hospital.

Beavercreek refuses because of perceptions of violent crime and a rise in theft around the mall.

They have major concerns about loitering by riders and those who may solicit for money near stops.

A civil rights group in Ohio say otherwise. The group believes that due to the local leaders and the extremely conservative views of most residents in the city, they feel that race and class perceive a bias in their decisions.

Dayton is the smallest city that has overhead trolley service. Other cities include Seattle, San Francisco, Boston and Philadelphia have trolley service.
Beavercreek is ordered to have public transit near shopping malls and hospital.
The city of Dayton still have issues with race. Dayton's population declined rapidly after the manufacturing bust by General Motors, and government facilities closing up in the city. The city was left with a large presence of boarded homes and abandoned businesses. Local shopping centers are bare and major retailers are moving further and further from the city. Most suburban shopping centers felt the bust as well. The two shopping complexes the Town & Country Shopping Center that's located in Kettering and the Dayton Mall are the only shopping areas with bus services. They both express concern about the public transportation.

They were concerned that fights, theft and panhandling would plague the malls. They concluded that the Salem Mall in Trotwood went out of business due to public transportation. The Salem Mall was the first Dayton mall. The mall was demolished years ago after many of its shops closed up! The residents of Trotwood blamed the bus for allowing criminals ruin a mall and the region.

The RTA have tried to calm the bad publicity. They've opened up transit centers that provide connecting services from Dayton to many area suburbs. They've partnered up with the Dayton Police and the county sheriff to provide adequate security for all RTA properties and the safety of all riders.

Dayton is bounded by the Great Miami River which separates the city from east to west.

Dayton is an urban rust city. Manufacturing dried up! White flight left the city with a nearly minority-majority population. The city is caught between major cities within a few hours drive. Most of the major attractions aren't near the city, they're either in the suburbs or the somewhere else.

Once again, Dayton has a long way to go in order to solve its racial issues! Hopefully it will for the better!

The Dayton Informer has videos on the controversy.

Death Of The King! [NSFW]

45 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on his way to lunch and protest march was gunned down by an assassin. The death of King brought to the nation to the grips of racial unrest.

King was the prominent leader of the African-American civil rights movement and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who became known for his advancement of civil rights by using civil disobedience. He was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968, at the age of 39. King was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:05PM that evening.

James Earl Ray, a fugitive from the Missouri State Penitentiary, was arrested in London at Heathrow Airport, extradited to the United States, and charged with the crime. On March 10, 1969, Ray entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced to 99 years in the Tennessee state penitentiary. Ray later made many attempts to withdraw his guilty plea and be tried by a jury, but was unsuccessful; he died in prison on April 23, 1998, at the age of 70.

King was booked in room 306 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, owned by businessman Walter Bailey (and named after his wife). King's close friend and colleague Reverend Ralph David Abernathy, who was King's roommate in the motel room the day of the assassination, told the House Select Committee on Assassinations that King and his entourage stayed in room 306 at the Lorraine Motel so often that it was known as the "King-Abernathy Suite."

According to biographer Taylor Branch, King's last words were to musician Ben Branch, who was scheduled to perform that night at an event King was going to attend: "Ben, make sure you play 'Take My Hand, Precious Lord' in the meeting tonight. Play it real pretty.

At 6:01 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 1968, while he was standing on the motel's second floor balcony, King was struck by a single .30 bullet fired from a Remington 760 Gamemaster.

The bullet entered through his right cheek, breaking his jaw, neck and several vertebrae as it travelled down his spinal cord, severing the jugular vein and major arteries in the process before lodging in his shoulder. By the force of the blast, King's necktie was ripped completely off his shirt. He fell violently backwards onto the balcony unconscious. Shortly after the shot was fired, witnesses saw James Earl Ray fleeing from a rooming house across the street from the Lorraine Motel where he was renting a room.

A package was dumped close to the site that included a rifle and binoculars with Ray's fingerprints on them. The rifle had been purchased by Ray under an alias six days before. A worldwide manhunt was triggered that culminated in the arrest of Ray at London Heathrow Airport two months later.

Abernathy heard the shot from inside the motel room and ran to the balcony to find King on the floor. King was bleeding profusely from the wound in his cheek. His SCLC colleague Andrew Young believed he was dead, though King still had a pulse.

The pictures are disturbing!

In some of these pictures will be Coretta Scott King, his children, Ralph David Abernathy, Jesse Jackson and James Earl Ray.

The Mountain Top!

45 years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee. "I've Been The To The Mountaintop" was the last speech he made while he preach calm during the Memphis sanitation strike.

Before we mark another year of the tragic killing of Dr. Martin Luther King, we listen to the speech.

King spoke on April 3, 1968, at the Mason Temple (Church of God in Christ Headquarters) in Memphis, Tennessee. On the next day, King was assassinated.

The speech primarily concerns the Memphis Sanitation Strike. King calls for unity, economic actions, boycotts, and nonviolent protest, while challenging the United States to live up to its ideals. At the end of the speech, he discusses the possibility of an untimely death.

The most notable quote:

And then I got to Memphis. And some began to say the threats, or talk about the threats that were out. What would happen to me from some of our sick white brothers? ... Well, I don't know what will happen now. We've got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn't really matter with me now. Because I've been to the mountaintop. I don't mind. Like anybody, I would like to live - a long life; longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land. So I'm happy, tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

Fist Full Of Dollars!

Racial stereotypes are common within the Black community. Many conservative White males think of Blacks as natural born criminals. Many in the conservative/white supremacist bubble think Black men want to grow up to be rappers, athletes, drug dealers, thugs and "gubmint gibbs mes". The believe Black men are the inductees of the iron college (prison), or the pop skip (dead beat parent).

Many in the conservative/white supremacist bubble think of Black women as ugly, fat, ghetto, ignorant, attitude rousing, baby making factories who worship the penis and not the employer.

Besides the stereotypes, racial slurs come down the pipe. Blacks are referred as monkeys, primates, Niggers, coons, bootlips, Obama's children, enslaved to the Democrat plantation or whatever else coming out of the conservative/white supremacist bubble.

Mediaite brings to attention a controversial cover. The Bloomberg Businessweek magazine cover shows a Black family in a house full of money. Meenal Vamburkar uncovers this one.

She writes that Bloomberg Businessweek became part of its own story today — through its controversial cover. It wasn't long before the magazine was accused of crossing the line with a “racist” portrayal of the issue.

Now I am all for freedom of speech. But so far, my thoughts of how the media portrays the Black family and President Barack Obama overstepped its boundaries.

Of course you know the outrage is pretty big right now!

For those in the conservative/white supremacist bubble, this is just PC (political correctness) outrage over nothing. It's just those lefties and civil right agitators making a mountain out of a mole hill.

The Raw Story also reports that the cover depicts people of color with a house full of cash. The “father” is barefoot and leering, depicted as an African-American, leaning out a window to clutch at a stream of dollar bills. The “mother” figure has brown skin and cartoonish, oversized lips. Upstairs we see a black boy and a Hispanic teenage girl, each grotesquely caricatured and shown reclining on big piles of money. All of the characters are grabbing for money while talking on cell phones or Bluetooth devices. Even the family cat, floating on a pillow in a sea of money downstairs, is depicted as black.

According to the Columbia Journalism Review, the image reinforces race-blaming right wing tropes about the mortgage crisis. “The narrative of the crash on the right has been the blame-minority-borrowers line , sometimes via dog whistle, often via bullhorn,” wrote CJR’s Ryan Chittum.

“In fact, though, the record is clear: minorities were disproportionately targeted by predatory lending, which has always gone hand in hand with subprime. Even when they qualified for prime loans that similar-circumstance whites got, they were pushed into higher-interest subprimes.”

Rinku Sen, president of the Applied Research Center, a nonprofit dedicated to “racial justice through media, research and activism,” called the artwork “egregious,” “straightforwardly racist” and “an extreme take on the ‘freeloader’ image.”

Sen said that while many will feel the temptation to call for symbolic firings and to demand some sort of disciplinary action toward whatever editorial personnel let this drawing by, the judgment error on the magazine’s part presents an opportunity to the public.

“It’s upsetting,” she said, “but it’s a really good opportunity to have a discussion with Bloomberg News about how they understand racial dynamics in the economy and how they make editorial choices that have racial implications.”

“What’s sad about this cover is that it’s obsessed with perpetuating racial stereotypes rather than telling the truth. Greed did bring down the housing market but it was the rapaciousness of Wall Street rather than communities of color,” said Imara Jones, the economic justice contributor at Colorlines.com.

”As financial institutions, such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo have admitted to the Justice Department in court settlements, their predatory lending practices of steering credit worthy blacks and Latinos into bogus financial products is what collapsed our economic system. According to Wall Street itself, racism is what destroyed the American dream for millions.”

Bloomberg apologized for the cover.

The magazine is a part of the vast media empire created by Michael Bloomberg, the mayor of New York City. He was a Republican until 2007. He left the party and became an independent. Bloomberg endorsed President Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential election.

Obama Unveils Rosa Parks Memorial!

President Barack Obama and members of Congress introduce the statue of famed civil rights icon Rosa Parks. For one moment in history, you see our leaders actually agree on one thing: Rosa Parks did something that changed the nation.

File:Rosa Parks Booking.jpgDecember 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Parks refused to obey bus driver James F. Blake's order that she give up her seat in the colored section to a white passenger, after the white section was filled.

Parks' act of defiance and the Montgomery Bus Boycott became important symbols of the modern Civil Rights Movement. She became an international icon of resistance to racial segregation. She organized and collaborated with civil rights leaders, including Edgar Nixon, president of the local chapter of the NAACP; and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a new minister in town who gained national prominence in the civil rights movement.

At the time, Parks was secretary of the Montgomery chapter of the NAACP. She had recently attended the Highlander Folk School, a Tennessee center for training activists for workers' rights and racial equality. She acted as a private citizen "tired of giving in". Although widely honored in later years, she also suffered for her act; she was fired from her job as a seamstress in a local department store.

Her fight for equal rights motivated King to prominence.

The president unveiled the Rosa Parks memorial at the hub of the National Statuary Hall. This is a chamber in the United States Capitol devoted to sculptures of prominent Americans. The hall, also known as the Old Hall of the House, is a large, two-story, semicircular room with a second story gallery along the curved perimeter.

For one day the Washington lawmakers had a brief moment of clarity.

File:Rosaparks bus.jpg
President Obama and members of Congress are so far apart on issues. The Republicans want to wreck the economy because they're sore losers. And the public is feeling it. Many Black and Hispanic workers fear that if the Congress fails at solving the fiscal crisis, they'll suffer.

There is a major lawsuit on the dockets of the Supreme Court of the United States. The Shelby County v. Holder is at the whims of a partisan court. The Supreme Court will make a landmark (5-4) decision on due process. The Court granted certiorari on the limited question of "whether Congress' decision in 2006 to reauthorize section 5 of the Voting Rights Act under the pre-existing coverage formula of Section 4(b) [sic] of the Voting Rights Act exceeded its authority under the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments and thus violated the Tenth Amendment and Article IV of the United States Constitution."

If the Court strikes down any portion of the Voting Rights Act it's going to unravel all the hard work done by the Democrats during the "hot summer of 1965".

Republicans already gerrymandered districts to give their party a 2-1 advantage in general elections. Many state governors are trying to make electoral votes separate count. Pennsylvania governor Tom Corbett is likely going to sign a law that breaks up the "winner takes all" strategy. It makes all the rural and suburban (likely Republican strongholds) a single vote for the candidate who pulls the most votes.

Republicans are going to make it harder for Democrats to win elections. Even though they've tried with voter suppression, voter identification laws and false cries of voter fraud, Republicans are devoted to stop progress in the name of extremism (not conservatism).

Changing A Tunechi!

Lil' Wayne causes another controversy again!

Epic Records didn't expect a controversy! Today many civil rights activists are upset over a verse rapped by the nation's most popular rapper Lil' Wayne.

Lil' Wayne appears on Atlanta based rapper Future's single Karate Chop. The Atlanta based rapper is become a mainstream fixture and his sophomore album Future Hendrix is coming soon. The rapper debuted his album Pluto last year. I am guessing that Future didn't expect his single to be that controversial.

Atlanta based rapper Future is becoming a mainstream fixture.
Lil' Wayne said "beat that pussy up like Emmett Till" and that verse leaked online and mainstream radio.

In regards to slain teenager Emmett Till and comparisons to the female anatomy, many entertainers and civil rights leaders demanding an apology from the rapper.

Lil' Wayne embraces guns, sexism, and commercialism.

He along with other rappers, rocker Ted Nugent, the NRA and many other politicos in Washington are under fire for embracing the gun culture. Since the tragedy at Sandy Hook, every event that involves firearms or entertainers/agitators defending violence will be scrutinized by the mainstream media.

Lil' Wayne is the most sought after rapper in hip-hop. With that title comes the scrutiny!

According to Associated Press, Epic Records has responded to the backlash. After the Rev. Jesse Jackson reached out to Lil' Wayne's management The Blueprint Group on the family's behalf, the label has released a statement claiming that the remix was "unauthorized" and that it leaked online. The label promised to make efforts to erase the track from the web, stating that an official version of the song will be released at a later time that "will not include such references."

"We regret the unauthorized remix version of Future's 'Karate Chop,' which was leaked online and contained hurtful lyrics," the statement said. "Out of respect for the legacy of Emmett Till and his family and the support of the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. ... we are going through great efforts to take down the unauthorized version."

Additionally, a Facebook posting on the Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation last night said that Epic Records Chairman and CEO LA Reid personally reached out to apologize.

After learning of the reference on the song, Airickca Gordon-Taylor, the founding director of the Foundation and cousin of Emmett Till, spoke out on behalf of the family and branded the reference "disrespectful." "We found it dishonorable to his name and what his death has meant to us as a people and as a culture," said Gordon-Taylor. "It was offensive not only to us, but to our ancestors and to women and to themselves as young, black men. I just couldn’t understand how you could compare the gateway of life to the brutality and punishment of death. And I feel as though they have no pride and no dignity as black men.”

Till was killed in 1955 while visiting his family in Mississippi. He was beaten severely and shot in the head before his attackers tied a cotton gin to his body with barbed wire and threw him into the Tallahatchie River.

Two white men were acquitted of the killing by an all-white jury.

Stevie Wonder was even agitated by the verse.
Stevie Wonder was upset over Lil' Wayne and Future's single.
The R&B legend says the rapper's disturbing verse should not have made it beyond the recording studio for the world to hear.

"You can't equate that to Emmett Till," Wonder said. "You just cannot do that. ... I think you got to have someone around you that – even if they are the same age or older – is wiser to say, `Yo, that's not happening. Don't do that.'"

Wonder, who says he is a fan and friend of Lil Wayne, made the comments when asked what he thought of Lil Wayne's controversial lyrics in an interview Thursday.

Wonder, 62, hopes the 30-year-old Grammy winner understands the perspective of the Till family and chooses his words wisely in the future.

"Sometimes people have to put themselves in the place of people who they are talking about," Wonder said. "Imagine if that happened to your mother, brother, daughter or your son. How would you feel? Have some discernment before we say certain things. That goes for me or any other (song)writer."

Lil' Wayne appears on Cash Money Records.
Stevie Wonder appears on Motown Records/Island Def Jam Music Group.
Future appears on A1/Freebandz/Epic Records.

Jesse Jackson, Jr. On The Run!

Congressman Jesse Jackson (D-Illinois) resigns from Congress. He is caught up in a political scandal and its taking a toll on his sanity.
After easily winning election despite being about 70% away from his constituents, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-Illinois) is resigning from Congress.

The son of Civil Rights leader Jesse Jackson has been at the Mayo Clinic for depression and bipolar disorder. The embattled congressman sent his resignation letter to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) this week. This likely Democrat but it could be a Republican pick up if they line up a candidate.

Jackson leaves a legacy behind. He also leaves behind a controversy.

His personal issues from his health, to reports of having an mistress have taken a toll on his sanity!

But is he just trying to distract the country?

He is currently under investigation for misuse of campaign fundraising. He also embroiled in the scandal that cost former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich his position. When Barack Obama, resigned from the senate to become the President Of the United States, Blagojevich was caught on tape telling people that he's willing to make a price for the seat. Jackson was hoping he could become the next Illinois senator. The FBI issued an arrest warrant for the governor. The governor resigned soon after.

President Barack Obama wanted the seat to go to Tammy Duckworth, Valarie Jerret or Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-Illinois). Blagojevich appointed Roland Burris to seat. Burris is also under investigation for potential corruption. Burris chose not to seek reelection and in 2010, the seat went to Mark Kirk, a Republican congressman.
Civil Rights leader Jesse Jackson, the father of embattled congressman

Blagojevich was sent to federal prison. The FBI is closing on Jackson. There could be charges for corruption against Jackson.

The current governor Pat Quinn (D-Illinois) will have to issue a special election for the seat shortly.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Jackson's political star was on the rise until allegations surfaced in late 2008 that his supporters offered to raise as much as $6 million for Blagojevich in return for the governor appointing him to the Senate seat vacated by the president-elect. Though Jackson was never charged in that case, a House ethics panel investigation into his actions was ultimately eclipsed by a federal criminal probe based in Washington, D.C., into alleged misuse of campaign dollars.

Jackson's resignation letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, was Jackson's first acknowledgment of the ongoing federal corruption investigation.

"I am doing my best to address the situation responsibly, cooperate with the investigators, and accept responsibility for my mistakes, for they are my mistakes and mine alone," Jackson said in the two-page letter. "None of us is immune from our share of shortcomings or human frailties, and I pray that I will be remembered for what I did right."

Jackson's Washington legal team, which recently added former federal prosecutor Dan Webb, a Chicago partner at Winston & Strawn LLP, indicated that while Jackson's political fate has been settled, there's more to come in a court of law.

"We hope to negotiate a fair resolution of the matter but the process could take several months," they said in the statement.

Despite admitting "my share of mistakes," Jackson said his deteriorating health — and treatment for bipolar depression — kept him from serving as a "full-time legislator" and was the reason for his resignation.

Jackson's decision to step down came little more than two weeks after his re-election to another two-year term despite a lack of campaigning. He disappeared from the public eye in June after taking a medical leave from the House for what aides had initially described as exhaustion.

Jackson formed a political tag-team with his wife, Ald. Sandi Jackson, 7th, who over the years has received hundreds of thousands of dollars as a paid political consultant to her husband. Despite her role on the City Council, the couple maintained an upscale home in Washington and sent their children to school there. Sandi Jackson has refused to discuss her husband's political future or the investigation into his campaign spending. She could not immediately be reached for comment Wednesday.

Jackson's resignation immediately launched a field of possible successors —to be nominated and elected in special elections early next year — that could involve more than a dozen Democratic contenders, some of them political has-beens and others up-and-comers representing a new generation of leadership.

Ex-Civil Rights Leader Going Up The Creek!

Raleigh Trammell, the former head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference was found guilty over the past week for fraud. He was responsible for helping feed the poor with meals.

Instead of taking on the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Trammell used his leadership role as a lavish panderer of things that landed him in trouble.

The Montgomery County Common Pleas Court of Ohio, delivered the verdict.

According to WHIO-TV, official accused of stealing taxpayer money intended to help the poor, was convicted Friday on all 51 counts against him in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Sentencing was set for June 27. The trial judge did not revoke Trammell's bond, so he will remain free until the sentencing hearing.

Trammell, 74, faced 51 felony counts stemming from the alleged thefts, all from a home-delivered meals service run from the SCLC Dayton chapter’s headquarters.

Some ex-aides accuse Trammell of spending taxpayer funding on sex and for his family's expenses.

Trammell could be spending the rest of his life in prison, when he is sentenced in late June.

NAACP Endorses Gay Marriage

The National Association for the Advancement of Color People, is a major civil rights organization. For the first time, in over 100 years the civil rights organization has finally endorsed the idea of marriage equality.

The civil rights organization has come in favor of President Barack Obama's stance on the issue of gay marriage.

This controversial landmine has energized the Republican Party. The culture war is once again in full swing and the conservative activists are recruiting.

The Black community does having a strong showing towards President Barack Obama.

Republicans are looking to break this mold by having a wedge inserted in the support gap. Gay marriage is an issue that Blacks are strongly against.

Less than 40% of the Black community endorses gay marriage. Over 60% of White voters who support the Democratic Party endorse gay marriage.

This issue will cost some Black votes.

But will this issue become a wedge to hurt the president?

But the wounds of division are slowing heeling. The NAACP has stepped forth in support of the rights of the GLBT community.

Obama To CBC: Stop Complaining! Fight For Your Share!

WASHINGTON — In a fiery summons to an important voting bloc, President Barack Obama told blacks on Saturday to quit crying and complaining and "put on your marching shoes" to follow him into battle for jobs and opportunity.

And though he didn't say it directly, for a second term, too.

Obama's speech to the annual awards dinner of the Congressional Black Caucus was his answer to increasingly vocal griping from black leaders that he's been giving away too much in talks with Republicans -- and not doing enough to fight black unemployment, which is nearly double the national average at 16.7 percent.

"It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y'all," Obama told an audience of some 3,000 in a darkened Washington convention center.

But he said blacks need to have faith in the future -- and understand that the fight won't be won if they don't rally to his side.

"I need your help," Obama said.

The president will need black turnout to match its historic 2008 levels if he's to have a shot at winning a second term, and Saturday's speech was a chance to speak directly to inner-city concerns.

He acknowledged blacks have suffered mightily because of the recession, and are frustrated that the downturn is taking so long to reverse. "So many people are still hurting. So many people are barely hanging on," he said, then added: "And so many people in this city are fighting us every step of the way."

But Obama said blacks know all too well from the civil rights struggle that the fight for what is right is never easy.

"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes," he said, his voice rising as applause and cheers mounted. "Shake it off. Stop complainin'. Stop grumblin'. Stop cryin'. We are going to press on. We have work to do."

Topping the to-do list, he said, is getting Congress to the pass jobs bill he sent to Capitol Hill two weeks ago.

Obama said the package of payroll tax cuts, business tax breaks and infrastructure spending will benefit 100,000 black-owned businesses and 20 million African-American workers. Republicans have indicated they're open to some of the tax measures -- but oppose his means of paying for it: hiking taxes on top income-earners and big business.

But at times, Obama also sounded like he was discussing his own embattled tenure.

"The future rewards those who press on," He said. "I don't have time to feel sorry for myself. I don't have time to complain. I'm going to press on."

Caucus leaders remain fiercely protective of the nation's first African-American president, but in recent weeks they've been increasingly vocal in their discontent -- especially over black joblessness.

"If Bill Clinton had been in the White House and had failed to address this problem, we probably would be marching on the White House," the caucus chairman, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, recently told McClatchy Newspapers.

Like many Democratic lawmakers, caucus members were dismayed by Obama's concessions to the GOP during the summer's talks on raising the government's borrowing limit.

Cleaver famously called the compromise deal a "sugar-coated Satan sandwich."

But Cleaver said his members also are keeping their gripes in check because "nobody wants to do anything that would empower the people who hate the president."

Still, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., caused a stir last month by complaining that Obama's Midwest bus tour had bypassed black districts. She told a largely black audience in Detroit that the caucus is "supportive of the president, but we're getting tired."

Last year, Obama addressed the same dinner and implored blacks to get out the vote in the midterm elections because Republicans were preparing to "turn back the clock."

What followed was a Democratic rout that Obama acknowledged as a "shellacking."

Where blacks had turned out in droves to help elect him in 2008, there was a sharp drop-off two years later.

Some 65 percent of eligible blacks voted in 2008, compared with a 2010 level that polls estimate at between 37 percent and 40 percent. Final census figures for 2010 are not yet available, and it's worth noting off-year elections typically draw far fewer voters.

This year's caucus speech came as Obama began cranking up grass-roots efforts across the Democratic spectrum.

It also fell on the eve of a trip to the West Coast that will combine salesmanship for the jobs plan he sent to Congress this month and re-election fundraising.

Obama was leaving Sunday morning for Seattle, where two money receptions were planned, with two more to follow in the San Francisco area.

On Monday, Obama is holding a town meeting at the California headquarters of LinkedIn, the business networking website, before going on to fundraisers in San Diego and Los Angeles and a visit Tuesday to a Denver-area high school to highlight the school renovation component of the jobs package.

MIZZOU: 2 students arrested in cotton ball incident

Zachary Tucker, left, and Sean Fitzgerald were arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of second-degree tampering.

COLUMBIA — An anonymous tip led to the arrest Tuesday night of two MU students in connection with last Friday's scattering of cotton balls in front of the MU's Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center.

Sean D. Fitzgerald, 19, and Zachary E. Tucker, 21, were arrested on suspicion of second-degree tampering. Police are pursuing the charge as a hate crime, making it a felony.

Statement by MU Chancellor Brady Deaton released Wednesday regarding the arrests:

Based on the information available to me, and in accordance with the University of Missouri’s Student Conduct Code (as outlined in the Collected Rules and Regulations, Chapter 200), I have determined it is in the best interest of the university community to temporarily suspend those students, Sean D. Fitzgerald and Zachary E. Tucker, who have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident that occurred on Feb. 26 at the front entrance of the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center, pending the outcome of the formal student conduct process. The Boone County Prosecutor will make a determination related to any criminal prosecution.

I commend MUPD Chief Jack Watring and his officers for their rapid and effective response during this difficult time. I also wish to thank the Legion of Black Collegians for the leadership they have demonstrated and to all those who attended and spoke out at LBC’s town hall meeting. My colleagues and I in the MU administration have listened carefully to all that was expressed and join all of you as we work together in support of our Mizzou family.

Long Island police beat innocent black man

Leave it to New York police to remind everyone that although Barack Obama has made history that this country still has a long way to go when it comes to black men and the police.

James Minter was handcuffed and beaten Garden City Long Island Police after they mistook him for the wrong man. He cooperated, didn't resist and was still beaten. The police knew they had done something wrong because later on they went to the hospital and tried to apologize and make deals to get Mr. Milner to not file a complaint. What is so sad about them trying to make a deal is that they assumed because he was black that he had some criminal or legal issues they could make "go away". Watch Mr Mitner tell his story by clicking the link below:

My interview with Nationalist Movement leader

The Nationalist Movement a hate group claiming to be speaking for and representing the American "majority" is having/had a march in Jena La. on Martin Luther king Day to ask that:

The Jena 6 all be jailed
The abolishment of the Martin Luther King Day Holiday
The elimination of civil rights laws.

Please listen to my interview with Richard Barret the general counsel of the Nationalist Movement as he explains why they are having this march on Martin Luther King Day and what they hope to accomplish. Mr. Barret also finds time to take shots at Al Sharpton.

This is one of my hardest interviews I have ever done. In order to let the ignorance of racism shine through I had to bite my tounge and let Mr.Barret speak freely so that he would make the point of the ignorance of being racist without me saying a word. Please click the link below to listen.
