The Politics Of Love!

Bill de Blasio is America's mayor. The new mayor of New York City celebrates a huge victory with his wife, Chirlane McCray. They been together since the 1990s. McCray is openly bisexual.

Hey, we've covered the closely watched political races in Virginia and New York City.

Did you know that two of the candidates running were married to Black women?

Well that's something I want to share with you here on Journal de la Reyna. Me and S. Baldwin have talked about women of color for a long time. The junk food media will be looking forward to meeting the mayor's wife Ms. de Blasio.

Bill De Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr. in Manhattan, New York, the son of Maria (née De Blasio) and Warren Wilhelm. His father had German ancestry, and his maternal grandparents, Giovanni and Anna, were Italian immigrants from the city of Sant'Agata de' Goti in the province of Benevento (where his mother's surname is spelled with a capital "D" — De Blasio).

Chirlane I. McCray is a writer, poet, editor, communications professional and political figure. She has published poetry and worked in politics as a speechwriter. She is married to New York City Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio and is the mother of their two children, Chiara and Dante.

McCray met Bill de Blasio in 1991, when they both worked at New York City Hall for Mayor David Dinkins. At the time, de Blasio was the aide to a Deputy Mayor and McCray was a speechwriter. McCray and de Blasio fell in love, and in 1994, were married in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.

Asked about her sexuality, McCray has stated that she hates "labels".

In 2012, when asked about her 1979 essay, she commented: "In the 1970s, I identified as a lesbian and wrote about it. In 1991, I met the love of my life, married him."

McCray and de Blasio are the parents of two children, Chiara and Dante, and live in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Well wishes to the new mayor of New York City.

And even though Libertarian nominee Robert Servis was roundly defeated in the race for governor in Virginia, he at least opened up about his personal life. He is married to a Black woman.

Here's some pictures of Robert Servis' wife.

Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis and his wife Astrid.
According to his campaign website, Robert Sarvis is of mixed-race (White and half-Chinese) and open-minded (supports gay marriage and marijuana legalization). He is well-educated and technologically savvy.

Astrid Servis is a pediatrician originally from Greenville, Mississippi. They are raising two beautiful children in Annandale, Virginia.

Many Republicans blame Robert Servis for being a spoiler in the election. He pulled 8% of the general election vote. The vote could have made a difference in Tea Party endorsed candidate Ken Cuccinelli's bid for the governor's mansion. The Republicans have big problems trying to incorporate people of color into their party.

The only Republican of color in nationally elected office is Tim Scott, the U.S. Senator from South Carolina.

MY PERSONAL TAKE ON INTERRACIAL LOVE

Now I am single. I've been on social networking websites like Facebook, POF, Badoo and OKCupid for dating and social hook ups.

Color doesn't matter to me. As long as the woman loves me for who I am, then I am satisfied with her. I don't discriminate against a person's race when it comes to relationships.

However whenever I see these profiles on the social networks from some saying they don't date "INSERT RACE", I shake my head with disgust.

Single individuals have the right to say their interest in dating. That's perfectly fine. But to say "I DON'T DATE [INSERT RACE]" will guarantee a lifetime of being single.

I understand some don't like overweight people and a particular race. It's understandable. But that shouldn't be a reason for not dating that person. You're negativity will ensure you failure with love.

I mean could it be simple as pie if you just ignore the messages and not engage in contact with the person who you're not suited to. That's if you have such a strong disliking towards that person.

Why on earth would you create a dating profile if not interested in the various individuals who could be your suitor?

Redskins Is Such An Ugly Name, Says Obama!

The president thinks Washington's NFL team The Redskin are in need of a makeover!

The conservatives hate the president so much, anything he says will certainly drive them nuts.

And tonight, here's another one to grab them an ounce of outrage. The NFL's Washington Redskins.

The NFC (National Football Conference) team is under huge pressure from Native American/First Nation groups about the labeling of the team.

Activists claim that the team and mascot represents a negative stereotype upon the Native American culture and some are even go as far to suing the team for a name change.

But for the owner Dan Synder, it's basically going to be the namesake as long as he owns the team.

Well you know that President Barack Obama is big fan of basketball and football. So as the leader of the nation and avid sports watcher, he had an opinion to the controversy.

He stated that if he owned the Washington Redskins, he would "think about changing" the team name, wading into the controversy over a football nickname that many people deem offensive to Native Americans.

The Associated Press had access to the president and he told it like it is!

The presidet said that team names like the Redskins offend "a sizable group of people." He said that while fans get attached to the nicknames, nostalgia may not be a good enough reason to keep them in place.
Team quarterback Robert Griffin III (aka RG III).
"I don't know whether our attachment to a particular name should override the real legitimate concerns that people have about these things," he said in the interview, which was conducted Friday.

Obama said he doesn't think Washington football fans are purposely trying to offend American Indians. "I don't want to detract from the wonderful Redskins fans that are here. They love their team and rightly so," he said.

But the president appeared to come down on the side of those who have sharply criticized the football team's name, noting that Indians "feel pretty strongly" about mascots and team names that depict negative stereotypes about their heritage.

Other professional sports teams have Indian nicknames, including football's Kansas City Chiefs and baseball's Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians.

Numerous colleges and universities have changed names that reference Native Americans. St. John's changed its mascot from the Redmen to the Red Storm, Marquette is now the Golden Eagles instead of the Warriors and Stanford switched from the Indians to the Cardinal.

The Redskins' nickname has attracted a fresh round of controversy in recent months, with local leaders in Washington calling for a name change and some media outlets refraining from using the name. The name is the subject of a long-running legal challenge from a group of American Indians seeking to block the team from having federal trademark protection.

Congressional lawmakers have introduced a bill seeking the same goal, though it appears unlikely to pass.

Opponents of the Redskins nickname also plan to hold a protest Monday outside the NFL's fall meeting in Washington.
In 2013, President Barack Obama hosted the Superbowl champions the Baltimore Ravens.
Despite the controversy, an AP-GfK poll conducted in April showed that nationally, "Redskins" still enjoys wide support. Nearly 4 in 5 Americans don't think the team should change its name, the survey found. Only 11 percent think it should be changed, while 8 percent weren't sure and 2 percent didn't answer.

Obama said he doesn't have a direct stake in the Redskins debate since he's not a team owner. But he hinted that might be part of his post-White House plans.

"Maybe after I leave the presidency," he joked. "I think it would be a lot of fun."

He added: "I'd probably look at a basketball team before I looked at a football team. I know more about basketball than I do about football."

Of course, will King Hippo, That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall or That Guy Who Helped Obama Win have their say to the matter. Of course they will!

They are so devoid of rational discussion, anything that President Barack Obama says, does, or even mention will merit some agitation from the racist right!

Haters Come Out Against Miss America!

Miss America Nina Davuluri. The country's most ignorant elements have the nerve to call her a "terrorist".

The crowning of a new Miss America is a great feeling for a young woman who strives to be all that she can be. Some look at the crown as a form of leadership. Others think of it as sexist.

Whether you like it or not, it's a tradition of the American junk food elite to bring 51 women onstage to show off their talents for the crown of being the nation's most beautiful woman. Miss America would later go onto to compete for the Miss Universe crown.

Nina Davuluri is from New York. She was crown the new Miss America. She would be the first Indian American woman to ever wear the crown.

A lovely and yes intelligent woman she is.

But to the racist right, it's a Muslim terrorist and another Obama sanctioned event. The political correctness of the Miss America pageant says some of the extremists who found out the news.
She is an American woman but to the racist right, she's another Muslim terrorist.
I've told you before that between Journal de la Reyna and my other blogs, I have three blogs I've often checked out for the latest controversial things off the internet. Addicting Info, The Hinterland Gazette and Public Shaming are the three websites I've normally visited often to check on things that's going on in the social networks.

I would use Huffington Post and That Guy Who Throws Shit To The Wall's websites often for the most mainstream stories.

But anyway, Public Shaming does it again. It collects the most outrageous comments in reaction to Miss Davuluri.

Now I warn you people that some of the stuff that's posted is controversial so take discretion in viewing this.

This is a damn shame. A beautiful woman who worked her heart and soul into become a success squandered by a bunch of online jerks.

Miss Nina Davuluri is a American dream. She deserves the crown. Nobody should take that from her.
Stay beautiful.
Nina Davuluri (Telugu: నీనా దావులూరి; born April 20, 1989) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who was named Miss New York 2013, subsequently winning Miss America 2014. She is the first Indian American to be chosen as Miss America.

Davuluri was born in Syracuse, New York, but moved to Oklahoma at age four and later to St. Joseph, Michigan. She attended college at the University of Michigan. Along with her family, she moved back to the Syracuse suburb of Fayetteville in the mid-2000s, where her father is a gynecologist affiliated with St. Joseph's Hospital.

Davuluri was crowned as Miss America on September 15, 2013, the second Miss Syracuse to win the competition after Vanessa Williams in 1983. Congresswoman Grace Meng congratulated Davuluri and compared her win with the first Jewish-American title won by Bess Myerson in 1945. Several commentators noted that the title was a milestone for the Indian-American and the Asian-American community as a whole. Davuluri was left on stage with first Runner-Up Chinese-American Miss California Crystal Lee when she said, "We’re making history standing here as Asian Americans.

Davuluri was born to Telugu parents of Hindu faith. Her mother Sheila Ranjani, software engineer, and father Davuluri Koteshwara Choudhary both hailed originally from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India.

In 1981, they left for Missouri (United States), where her father worked as a gynecologist. Her maternal aunt and uncle in India are also doctors and run a nursing home, while her father’s siblings are doctors in the United States. Following the family trend, she wishes to become a cardiologist.

To honor her Indian roots, she became a trained Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam danseuse during her yearly visits to India. Davuluri has learned to play piano as well and she regularly watches Telugu films (Tollywood) to stay connected with India.

Davuluri attended the University of Michigan and has won several scholastic honors including the Dean's List, Michigan Merit Award, and National Honor Society Award. She graduated with a degree in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science. In 2006 she placed Runner-up for Miss Teen America. She prepared herself a whole year for the Miss America competition. According to her grandmother Koteswaramma support came from "her mother, most importantly she has strong attachment to India and the city of Vijayawada," where she spent 2 years as a baby girl.

Remember the racist right was all upset during the Carrie Prejean saga. Prejean had said some controversial things about the LGBT community and the racist right believe that she was disqualified because she spoke conservative views.

Celebrity agitator Perez Hilton took to the internet to shame her and That Guy Who Helped Obama Win wasted no time trying to get Chief Roger to hire her as a commentator.

See how our country is!

Minnesota Mom Loses RIAA Fight!

Minnesota mom gets shutdown by the U.S. Supreme Court in her fight against the RIAA.

Jammie Thomas became famous for being the first woman to be sued by the Recording Industry Association of America, for illegally downloading music off the internet's peer-to-peer sharing websites.

She along with if not millions of Americans shared or downloaded music online. Instead of paying $15 for a music CD, we just want the hottest singles from the entertainer. So we download it through online peer-to-peer sharing sites and download websites. It launched an ongoing battle against the music industry.

Nowadays, people are so fed up with the RIAA, the American people aren't buying the music or movies. It's been a slight slow down in downloading. But there's been a strong decline in music and movie sales.

Why pay over $20 for a movie? You can get it off the Pirate's Bay!

Why give these entertainers the luxury of stiffing us at concerts or snubbing our request for autographs?

This is how many Americans think of the entertainment industry. They believe most entertainers are too uptight and rally on controversy to stay relevant.

Jammie Thomas-Rasset is now 35 years old. Still owing the RIAA over $200,000 in legal royalties.

The woman was sued by the RIAA after they determined that music downloads were being used illegally.
Jammie Thomas-Rasset has become the first woman to be sued for $2 million by the RIAA.
The U.S. District Court in Minnesota found that Thomas-Rasset was found liable in damages and was ordered to pay $2 million. The damages were reduced to nearly $220, 000 after the court found it's ruling to too harsh.

Thomas didn't have the money and felt that she was singled out for something, millions of others do. She didn't sell the music illegally, she just listened to it on her computer. For nearly eight years, Thomas-Rasset fought this all the way to the Supreme Court.

Thomas-Rasset is a mother of four and of Native American decent. She lived in the community of Brainerd, Minnesota.

Married now, Thomas-Rasset was fighting this battle tooth and nail against an industry giant.

The Raw Story reported that her only opportunity to seek redemption was thrown out the window.

The U.S. Supreme Court dismissed the appeal from Thomas-Rasset.

Three trials and multiple appeals later, she has been ordered to pay amounts as high as $1.92 million — or $80,000 for each of 24 illegally downloaded tracks. After the third trial, at which the jury awarded the music companies $1.5 million, the amount was reduced on appeal to $220,000.

That’s the amount in damages Thomas-Rasset was originally ordered to pay after her first conviction, but the judge who presided over that trial threw out the verdict calling it “wholly disproportionate” and “oppressive.”

In the mid-2000s, the Recording Industry Association of America and major music labels brought suit against thousands of people for illegally downloading and sharing music, with most agreeing to settlements of between $3,000 and $5,000.

Thomas-Rasset, however, has consistently refused to settle the case.

Only one other defendant, Boston student Joel Tenenbaum, refused a settlement. Tenenbaum was ordered to pay $675,000, a fine the Supreme Court also refused to review in May 2012.

In December 2008, the RIAA said it will stop suing people who download music illegally and focus instead on getting Internet Service Providers to take action.

Back in 2009, Jammie Thomas-Rasset went to CBS to talk about her appeal.

Three Waves--Each One White-capped: A Racist History of Feminism

Ain't I a Woman?  Are we WOC woman or not?

Once again, Julian Real is right on the money on this one.  Again and again, the needs of WOC, working class women, immigrant women, poor women, disabled women are disregarded by the mainstream feminist movement.
