President Joe Biden hosts Israeli president Isaac Herzog. The Israeli president had said that Jews marrying non-Jews is like a plague. |
The Democrats are on the wrong side of history. It will take the youth vote, people of color and generational protests to sway the center-left party to reality.
The Democrats and Republican lawmakers are embolden by the notion that criticism of Israel is anti-semitic. Their definition of American patriotism is pledging loyalty to a foreign country. They don't care if Israel is tilting towards fascism. They don't care if Israel is pushing ethno-nationalism.
They hate an Islamic state but praise a Jewish state.
Did you know that 33 states have laws on the books banning state contracts to companies that boycott Israel or Israeli-branded products?
Former lawmaker Lee Zeldin, a Republican who is Jewish tried to criminalize boycotting Israel with fines and imprisonment.
Outgoing senator Ben Cardin, a Democrat from Maryland tried to impose sanctions on countries that sponsor calls to punish Israel.
If you call Israel a racist state, they are quick to condemn any critics as misinformed.
In turn, they will call you a racist, push propaganda, call you anti-semitic or ban you from businesses.
They force Pramila Jayapal to apologize for her honest opinion on Israel. |
Now Congress passed a resolution calling for unilateral solidarity with Israel after Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) responded to protesters who want a Palestinian state. The vote was 412-9-1 with nine Democrats voting no. Far right lawmaker Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) sponsored the bill and it has bipartisan support. Jayapal was not addressed in it but they knew what the resolution addressed.
Jayapal said that Israel is a racist state and it earned a strong rebuke from Republicans and Democrats. The House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) forced Jayapal to walk back her comments and attend an upcoming event. They also forced her to vote on the resolution.
Top Democrats issued a statement over the weekend countering Jayapal's remarks in which they declared, "Israel is not a racist state."
"Our commitment to a safe and secure Israel as an invaluable partner, ally and beacon of democracy in the Middle East is ironclad," House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Reps. Katherine Clark (D-MA), Pete Aguilar (D-CA) and Ted Lieu (D-CA) said in a statement.
Aguilar further touted the "special relationship" between the U.S. and Israel during a news conference on Tuesday, where he was asked whether the Israel resolution would expose division within the party.
"No, there's unity in the Democratic caucus," Aguilar responded. "I think you'll see that with strong attendance from our colleagues on the House floor to see the president of Israel address us."
The Jewish Democratic lawmakers are Islamophobic. They are not willing to listen to the cries of Palestinians. They openly attack the only Palestinian-American lawmaker who is boycotting the Israeli leaders visiting the U.S. this month.
Only three members of the House are Muslim.
It is time to sever ties to the American Israeli Political Action Committee and any pro-Israeli groups. It's about time to force accountability on the state of Israel before its too late.
It will take a village to change the world. |
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Rep. Andre Carson (D-IN), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA), Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Rep. Ayanna Presley (D-MA) and Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) are boycotting at Joint Session of Congress.
All the lawmakers are people of color.
They are noise makers but I do agree with them wholeheartedly on this one.
They are protesting the state visit of Israeli president Isaac Herzog. He will speak in a Joint Session of Congress with Vice President Kamala Harris, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and members of both House and Senate in attendance.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Joe Biden in the coming weeks.
Palestinians are calling for world leaders to hold the Israeli government accountable for war crimes and illegal settlements in violation of the United Nations.
The recent attack on Jenin has finally reached a boiling point with people on the sidelines being fed up with the one sided view that Israel can't do no wrongs.
United Nations experts say Israeli forces’ actions amount to ‘egregious violations of international law’.
In one of the fiercest assaults in two decades on the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces brought death and widespread destruction to Jenin.
At least 12 Palestinians were killed and thousands were displaced from the Jenin refugee camp due to Israel’s two-day assault.
