John Fetterman is trying to avoid questions about him pulling a firearm on a Black man. |
The lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania skips a Democratic debate with Black clergy. His main opponent is calling him out for skipping this debate because folks are now finding out about his past.
Leftists are backing John Fetterman, the state's lieutenant governor. The former mayor of the Borough of Braddock was the surprise nominee for the state's lieutenant governor race.
He won along with incumbent governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf.
Again, leftists are touting a poll saying that Fetterman is leading against Rep. Conor Lamb (D-PA) and former Pennsylvania state senator Malcolm Kenyatta. A majority are undecided, so this skipping of a debate will be a bullet to the gut for Fetterman.
The cat is finally out the bag.
News: Fetterman leads Lamb by double digits in Pennsylvania

What Fetterman did was wrong.
— Conor Lamb (@ConorLambPA) March 31, 2022
He has no explanation for it — that's why he's skipping this debate, & why he skipped a major forum with Black pastors in January.
He's afraid to debate, he’s afraid of his own record. pic.twitter.com/4QQHXvw6H2
Unlike John, I've faced Republicans in tough races before — & beaten them three times in a row. They've spent millions trying new ways to attack me, and failed.

You know what you get with me. You don’t with Fetterman.
I'm ready to win in November. Fetterman isn't.
March was a BIG month:

Lamb finally acknowledged that Fetterman had chased a Black jogger with a firearm.
In 2013, Fetterman was the mayor of Braddock when he said he heard gunshots not far from his home, then saw someone running from the area. Fetterman said he called the police, pursued the man, and said in a TV interview at the time that he confronted him with a gun to stop him from fleeing before police arrived. An officer who responded to reports of gunfire searched the man, Christopher Miyares, and found he was unarmed, according to a 2013 police report.
Keep working. |
The incident drew relatively little attention in 2016, when Fetterman lost his first Senate run in the Democratic primary. But it has lingered in the years since, with a news report about it by Pittsburgh’s ABC affiliate circulating on social media, and in political circles among Fetterman critics.
Fetterman is brushing aside the controversy but Black voters in Pennsylvania haven't.
When you see the outcomes of how a 6'9" white man chasing down a Black man with a gun on a perception he looks suspicious, it kind of makes him look like he tried to lynch him.
Fetterman may have Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Bernie Bros. support, but a plurality of Democrats are looking at Fetterman as a weak candidate.
The Democrats see both Fetterman and Lamb as possible liabilities but Lamb is more relatable to Pennsylvania.
Fetterman comes off an unkempt and buffoonish. He looks like he won't take things seriously if he becomes a U.S. Senator. He wants to win over the click-bait base of Democrats who worship the alter of Bernie.
VOTE FOR CONOR LAMB! IGNORE THE NOISE! DON'T LET THE LEFTISTS AND FAR RIGHT EXTREMISTS WIN.
