She said so many dog whistles, the dogs howled.
LeBron clapped back. He first refused to acknowledge her by name. He also said that the network she represents has been constantly blowing the whistle.
He said that this issue is an example of what he's been saying for years.
The NHL is the premier league of hockey. About 92% of the players are white.
There are 31 teams representing the best. The United States and Canada have the best on the ice. There are many Black athletes on the ice.
Forward Devante Smith-Pelly is a Black hockey player representing the NHL. He plays for the Washington Capitals. And on the ice, he got called a Nigger.
He was sent to the penalty box after a foul. He rose his stick and was clearly angry when the fans of the opposing team were saying, "basketball, basketball, basketball."
When he heard "stick to basketball, you....!" he lost it.
Smith-Pelly was not having it. He wanted to come through the penalty box. It took a quick second before security removed the fans.
The fans were ejected soon after that.
The Capitals were playing against the Chicago Blackhawks. The teams immediately addressed the situation.

Smith-Pelly grew up in Toronto and played on the ice for the Montreal Canadiens, Anaheim Ducks, the New Jersey Devils, and currently the Washington Capitals.
The NHL said that racism of any form is not acceptable. The fans may lose their privileges for LIFE.
