Milestones Of Tragedy!

The first attack on the World Trade Center happened on this day.
The World Trade Center bombing happened 25 years ago. Before 9/11, there was the first attempt at taking down the World Trade Center. Seven men who were hell bent on taking down the global markets in their support of al Qaeda.

The attack happened around 12pm where a box truck was placed in the parking garage of the North Tower. The intention was take down the building and have it crash into the South Tower.

Ramzi Yossef, Eyad Ismoil, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal A. Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmed Ajaj were inspired to destroy the World Trade Centers by Osama bin Laden and Yossef's uncle Khaled Sheikh Mohammed.

The blast failed at gutting the building. It killed six people who were in the vicinity of the blast.

The attack would strengthen security around the towers. The towers lasted until September 11, 2001 when al Qaeda called upon 20 men to hijack commercial airline planes to crash into the World Trade Center. The four planes crashed at the Towers, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The fourth plane was supposedly aimed for the U.S. Capitol or the White House.
The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin happened this day.

Trayvon Martin fatal confrontation with George Zimmerman. This would spark the Black Lives Matter Movement. On this day, a Sanford, Florida man killed a teen in a gated community. He managed to beat a murder charge.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain spotted Martin in his gated community. There was a confrontation and then a shooting.

Martin was killed and Zimmerman claimed self defense.

It took three months to try Zimmerman for the charges. He had the backing of Fox News, Alex Jones, the NRA, talk radio and Rick Scott, the governor of Florida.

The so called Stand Your Ground law helped Zimmerman prove even though Trayvon Martin was unarmed, he died.

Now Florida has some of the looses gun laws. The Parkland school shooting and Orlando nightclub shooting were prime examples.

Trayvon, the people of Pulse Nightclub and Stoneman Douglas High School suffered for the reckless laws of Scott. The NRA and Scott face harsh criticism for allowing gun violence to continue.
