NJ GOP Senate Candidate: Cory Booker Is A Dope Boy!

The Republicans are hoping that they can take the steam out of Newark mayor Cory Booker's bid for U.S. Senate.

Steve Lonegan is hoping that his long shot bid for U.S. Senate is going at least be worth the fight.

In his attempt to paint the mayor of Newark as a "lazy ineffective gay NIGGER", the Republican decides to stand near one of the few properties that Booker owns in Newark.

He make the assumption that Booker is a "dope boy" who is "jugging through a trap!"

The Urban Dictionary for dope boy and jugging.

DOPE BOY: Any person who distributes illicit substances. Most often used to describe a young male that sells to a specific geographic area or neighborhood, and most likely moves hard drugs (ex. cocaine, crack), as well as the standard marijuana and prescription pills. Mostly used in the Southern part of the US, even though its use has become more widespread due to the emergence of southern Rap in the mainstream.

JUGGING: Intravenous injection of drugs (heroin) into one's jugular vein, located in the neck. Assistance from another person is often required. usually the person using has to lay down and hold their breath, in order to puff out the veins; someone else will then do the injection for them.

Another example of dog whistle politics from the political party that believes Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr is one of them and President Barack Obama is an adjective attached to a noun.

Talking Points Memo reports that Lonegan's "crack house" accusations are in response to reports published in the New York Post and Bergen Record in recent days about a property Booker obtained while mayor.

The property drew complaints from neighbors who said it was left vacant and "overrun by squatters."

"Mayor Steve Lonegan, the Republican candidate for the United States Senate, will hold a press conference today in front of Cory Booker's abandoned property, now a crack house," a press release announcing the event said.

In another story published Monday, the Post reported a neighbor who lived near the building said she wrote "many many letters to [Booker] about squatters in the yard, people using drugs." According to the Record, Booker purchased the building in 2009 and sold it to a non-profit he owns for $1 "less than three weeks" after the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) announced he would not run for re-election in February of this year.

Lonegan's press conference is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET. TPM reached out to Lonegan's spokesman, Will Gattenby, to ask whether they had any evidence of drug-related activity at the building.

"I think we'll speak to that today in the press conference," Gattenby said.

So if people trespass on abandon property to set up a trap, it's Cory Booker's fault for it.

The open seat is LIKELY DEMOCRAT so it wouldn't matter who the Republicans line up, they don't have a candidate that appeals to the needs of New Jersey.

Republicans, you can learn a lot from Governor Chris Christie.

If Booker should win the election, he will be the first elected Black senator since Barack Obama. He will be the third Black U.S. Senator in the current 113th Congress. Tim Scott is the current South Carolina Republican U.S. senator. Mo Cowan was the second Black U.S. Senator. He was from Massachusetts. He served at least six months before Ed Markey won the special election.

GA Teen Rescued After An Armed Robbery And Kidnapping!

Teen was kidnapped by armed robbers. Found safe in Atlanta suburbs.

Ayvani Hope Perez, was found safe today after the law found her in the suburban Atlanta area of Conyers, Georgia. The nation is relieved that her young life was spared today.

The young teen along with her brother and mother were held hostage by two individuals who demanded money. The two individuals ended up shooting and killing their family dog. When the neighbors tipped off the law to a gun going off, the two individuals panicked and took the girl as "collateral".

There were suspects. These individuals are being sought. Two others were caught after botched robbery and kidnapping.

The suspects who would later be sought after and caught. They were caught after numerous tips led to the whereabouts of the young girl's location.

Clayton County Police Chief Gregory Porter in a press conference this afternoon. "This is a good day for the family," Porter said.

He credited "hardcore law enforcement, boots to the ground," for helping authorities locate the teen, who he said was found in good health but is undergoing an evaluation.

The teen has since been reunited with her family, Porter said, and two suspects have been taken into custody.

The suspects were identified by the FBI as Wildrego Jackson of Atlanta, and Juan Alberto Contreras-Rodriguez, a 40-year-old Mexican national who is being held on immigration-related charges.

This is an open investigation because the individuals arrested weren't the ones who were described in the mugshot detail.

Perez was in her pajamas when police say two men broke in the back door of her Ellenwood, Georgia., home Tuesday at 2:15 a.m. looking for jewelry and money. When Perez's mother said the family didn't have any, the suspects shot the family dog and fled the home with Perez, according to police.

The family had just moved to Ellenwood, a small community about 10 miles southeast of Atlanta, a month ago and police believed they had no connection to the abductors.

Miss America Nina Davuluri. The country's most ignorant elements have the nerve to call her a "terrorist".

The crowning of a new Miss America is a great feeling for a young woman who strives to be all that she can be. Some look at the crown as a form of leadership. Others think of it as sexist.

Whether you like it or not, it's a tradition of the American junk food elite to bring 51 women onstage to show off their talents for the crown of being the nation's most beautiful woman. Miss America would later go onto to compete for the Miss Universe crown.

Nina Davuluri is from New York. She was crown the new Miss America. She would be the first Indian American woman to ever wear the crown.

A lovely and yes intelligent woman she is.

But to the racist right, it's a Muslim terrorist and another Obama sanctioned event. The political correctness of the Miss America pageant says some of the extremists who found out the news.

She is an American woman but to the racist right, she's another Muslim terrorist.

Nina Davuluri (Telugu: నీనా దావులూరి; born April 20, 1989) is an American beauty pageant titleholder who was named Miss New York 2013, subsequently winning Miss America 2014. She is the first Indian American to be chosen as Miss America.

Julie Chen: My Former Job Told Me I Looked Too Asian!

Reality host Julie Chen and her husband Les Moonves. The reality host is a part of The Talk and Big Brother. She revealed that her previous employer made racial slurs about her. Moonves is the CEO of CBS networks.

The Dayton, Ohio NBC affiliate WDTN, issued an apology to CBS reality television host Julie Chen after she revealed on her program The Talk about her issues with management during her time working as a news reporter.

The women of The Talk revealed the most controversial secrets and one happen to make the news was the conversation about "the looks". Chen being of Asian-American decent, was told by a television news manager that her looks weren't appealing to the audience forced her to get plastic surgery to replace her nose and facial cheek bones. She felt that she had to look "white" in order to get a job.

Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Julie Chen host CBS The Talk. The daytime program is gunning for The View after three successful seasons.

On September 11, 2013 during the first week of Season 4 of The Talk, Chen revealed that she had undergone East Asian blepharoplasty early in her career after being pressured by a previous news director.

China Arnold Wants Out Of The Iron College!

China Arnold, convicted murderer wants another trial.

Ohio woman wants out of the iron college. She keeps telling the judge that she didn't microwave her little baby. The woman is serving life in the iron college after she was found guilty of the incident.

She was spared the gas chamber after the third trial.

China Arnold, age 33 is the woman from Dayton, Ohio who made the national news for being the "mother of the year". Fingers were being pointed at everyone but herself. She has an excuse for everything.

Who put the baby in the microwave?

After nine years in the iron college, she wants a new trial.

Arnold, who had been convicted of abduction in 2000 and forgery in 2002, was sentenced to life in the iron college without the possibility of parole on.

The infant was placed in a microwave oven for what analysts suspect was longer than 2 minutes and died shortly after removal. Death occurred because her internal temperature reached critical temperatures. In the words of medical examiner, Dr. Marcella Fierro, "she was cooked."

At the time, Arnold lived with her children and her boyfriend, Terrell Talley, in a Parkside Homes complex.

Prosecutors said that she placed Paris into the microwave after an argument with Talley over the baby's paternity; she told investigators that she was intoxicated. Arnold took Paris to the hospital the next day, where she died of her injuries. Arnold was arrested initially, then released due to lack of evidence. She was re-arrested in November 2006.

Shortly after Arnold's first trial began, Talley told the Dayton Daily News that his son told him that he pulled the baby's lifeless body out of the microwave after a neighbor's boy had put her in there; the claim resulted in a mistrial.

However, at the second trial, the mother of the boy in question established that he was not at the housing complex when Paris died, and Arnold was convicted of aggravated murder.

In November 2010, the Second District Court of Appeals reversed Arnold's conviction, citing misconduct by prosecutors and that the court erred by not allowing material witnesses to testify in Arnold's defense.

In then in another trial in May 2011, a jury found Arnold guilty of aggravated murder. Her attorney had argued that the evidence pointed as much to Talley as it did Arnold, to no avail.

Arnold has been incarcerated at the iron college for women in Marysville, Ohio.

Looks like this will be the fourth time for Arnold.

Deal Rejected For "Hiccup Girl"! The Trial On!

Murder trial for Jennifer Mee, the former internet celebrity.

The deal to get out of the iron college after 15 years is rejected by the court. I guess its jury selection for Jennifer Mee, the 22-year old woman who is accused in the murder of Shannon Griffin. I guess she's going to gamble on the trial that may send her to the iron college for the rest of her life.

I've taken interest in this one. The young woman was a former internet celebrity. She became a focal point of news sensation for the uncontrollable hiccups. A young woman who had the nation aid her in her crisis of unstoppable hiccups. After a few months of therapy, she was "cured" of them.

Shannon Griffin was murdered by two men. Jennifer Mee is accused of luring Griffin to his death.

During the downtime of her internet celebrity, she ran with a dope boy name Lamont Newtown. She would often runaway from her family to live with him. He would keep his "down ass bitch" in line by telling her things that makes her self-esteem feel good. One thing was to help him make money. She would tell fiends that her boy sells dope.

Her boyfriend Newtown and LaRon Raiford would eventually shoot and killed a man. Who would of thought that Mee met this guy on the social networks.

Shannon Griffin was the victim in an apparent robbery gone wrong.  Griffin met her on the social networks and wanted to get with her. He was a survivor of Hurricane Katrina and wanted to start a new life in Florida. He meets her and hangs with her.

His family expressed some sort of concern about her. Maybe it was her demeanor or the fact that she carried celebrity or one of the same. It was the fact that the family didn't trust her.

It's was proven right when they've found out that the young man was killed and the girl was no where to be found. After all they've left together, how the hell could she not know?

Mee denies that she "set up" Griffin. But the prosecutors are saying otherwise. They've painted the woman as a cold, manipulative and heartless individual who felt that "being a thug" was the only way to survive.

The Associated Press reports that after a day of questioning dozens of people, prosecutors and attorneys for Jennifer Mee selected a jury of 12, plus four alternates. Pinellas County Judge Nancy Moate Ley told potential jurors that the trial would probably wrap up by the end of the week, and opening statements are scheduled for Wednesday morning.

Mee is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shannon Griffin, a 22-year-old Wal-Mart worker. Prosecutors say Mee lured Griffin to a St. Petersburg home under the pretense of buying marijuana — but instead, two of Mee's friends robbed him at gunpoint. Griffin struggled with the suspects and was shot several times.

Detectives said Mee accepted a friend request from Griffin on a social networking website five or six days before the robbery, but it was unclear if Griffin had recognized her as the "hiccup girl."

Mee's co-defendant, LaRon Raiford, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in August. Lamont Newton, the other co-defendant who was also Mee's boyfriend at the time of the crime, has not yet gone to trial.

At issue is whether Mee is a bystander or the person who planned the robbery — prosecutors say she played an active role in planning the robbery, which led to Griffin's death. Under Florida law, people can be convicted of murder if they commit a serious felony crime — such as robbery — and someone was killed as a result.

John Trevena, Mee's attorney, said his client suffered from Tourette's Syndrome, a neurological disorder that can cause involuntary movements and speech problems. He said that the hiccups were one symptom of Tourette's and that he will mention that during the trial.

"It won't be used as a direct cause for what occurred but it might help explain her errors in judgment and her often thoughtless response to law enforcement," said Trevena, who said that Mee did not participate in the robbery.

He added that his client has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and that he plans to explain that to the jury as well.

Trevena said Mee has been in Pinallas lock up pending trial since her October 2010 arrest — much of that time in isolation because detention deputies say she is a high profile inmate.

Mee has experienced periodic bouts of hiccups while in jail, said Trevena, and she is being treated with a drug called thorazine, which treats psychotic disorders.

"It controls the hiccups," he said.

Mee wore a teal dress and her long, dark hair loose during the first day of the trial. She looked sadly at the potential jurors when the charge against her was read by the judge.

Mee is not facing the death penalty. If convicted, she will face life in the iron college without the possibility of parole.

As a part of his court order for prostitution arrests, the famous New York deejay and radio personality had to release a public service announcement. He talks about HIV/AIDS and sexuality transmitted diseases.

In this PSA he decides to "out" himself as a bisexual. This is been one of the first since Frank Ocean became the officially "outed" entertainer in hip-hop. Calvin "Mister Cee" Lebrun is the first hip-hop deejay to be gay or bisexual.

The guy who helped Notorious B.I.G. get that deal on Sean "Puffy" Combs' Bad Boy label back in the day, has acknowledged that he's open about his sexuality.

Mister Cee was famous for Christopher Wallace's demo tape to friend, Sean Combs, which would later prove as the beginning of the rap icon's historical career in the music.

Mister Cee was arrested after police officers allegedly caught him in a sexual act in Lower Manhattan with a transgender prostitute in the early hours of the morning.

Then he was arrested again after he was soliciting an undercover officer dressed as a woman.

His latest event happened a few days ago. Mister Cee's encounter with a gay blogger dressed as a woman was revealed after recorded audio was released on September 11, 2013.

That sealed his "straight" credibility. He couldn't hide his sexuality in the closet.

Mister Cee's newest problem has an internet blog. He done a dress and Mister Cee got a rise out of it.

Though he resigned his job at New York City radio station Hot 97 after the recording was made public, he later decided to stay on.

Mister Cee is a good friend of 50 Cent. The media mogul and rapper stood behind the deejay during his ordeal and say that Cee is the "guy who brought music and gave the world B.I.G.!"

Anyway, this world knew. I mean he got caught the first time with a transgender prostitute. He should have acknowledged his sexuality then.

But since, he's in fear of losing endorsements and the oh so straight rap community, he continue this on without people knowing. It came to the end when a turdelebrity decided to put an encounter between him and the deejay. The turdelebrity who goes by the name of Bimbo Winehouse wanted to tell the world he's a prostitute and met the deejay in an encounter in Queens, New York.

Now this individual that Mister Cee is involved with is some internet turdelebrity who wanted to make a few dollars off shaming him.

The turdelebrity was going to blackmail Mister Cee. So to cushion the fall, the deejay was forced him to "out" himself.

And the video below is hard to hear and it's pretty much disturbing. It's a disturbing and not safe for work.

Again, I have no problems with the LGBT community. They're entitled to live their lives like everyone else.

The Blame Game series always occurs whenever there's a mass shooting. It's been a part of the tradition of me giving an honest take of how the junk food media agitators always politicize an event.

The shooter Aaron Alexis murdered 12 people before law enforcement took him out.

The people who known the guy thought of him as a "nice guy". A guy who had some "anger" issues.

A man who thought he was hearing voices after suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. A man who had no business operating a firearm. But since the lame Congress hasn't pass reasonable gun control measures to keep firearms out of the hands of people like this, they'll just point fingers and blame one another for why this event could have been adverted.

The arm chair warriors and agitators in the media have the "would of", "should of", "could of" and the "If I was..." nonsense.

Let's make this clear, you never know what happens until you're in an event where a mass shooting has occurred. Yeah, those who are lucky to "take out the threat" are bold to say at least.

Law enforcement know the rules of "life and death". They have a limited time span when it comes to an event where it requires special operations. This situation merits the notion that what could happen if we done this or that?

Why would you think that you could do something when a gunman is shooting at you?

If I was in a mass shooting event, I would high tale it out of there! I don't want to be a hero.

I rather be a living coward than a dead hero! If I had the opportunity to shoot a threat, I would!

Blame Game: DC Navy Shipyard Tragedy!

The DC Navy Yard shooter was killed after he massacred 12 people.

The country mourns the horrible tragedy out of Washington, DC. We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to those who were lost in this senseless tragedy.

The suspect Aaron Alexis went on a rampage and ended up killing 12 people before the officers killed him.

Many Americans are trying to figure out what could make a man snap. This man who held a bottle of rage.

Of course, now we see the usual finger pointing from the agitators of the junk food media.

The left will say: "Here we go again, another mass shooting in America and the president and Congress will not move the needle on curbing gun violence. The NRA can't do nothing right. All they want is 'more guns' and we'll pay the price with blood! You see why cutting government is a bad thing! The sequester is hurting the country and Republicans are responsible for the tragedy!"

The right will say: "See what we told you! There a need for more firearms in the workplace. If the people were armed this man would have seen justice. Anyways, isn't this guy an Obama voter? After all this could have been Trayvon Martin, don't you know?"

The man is Black so obviously, the White extremists will look at this as another attempt by the "liberal media" to whitewash crime on White people. They believe that White people are "victims of violence" by Black people. The shooter didn't care who he had killed. The white extremists often ignores the people of color.

After all the racial extremist thinks it's typical of "you people" to kill one another.

The racial extremists will automatically see Black people as a threat to society. This incident is clear giveaway for the conservative agitators.

I bet you that if I could click on a link from Breitbart, I'll bet you find a political dig from them. They'll claim that Alexis is a Democrat. The Breitbart crew seriously believe that the liberal agitators will single conservatives out for their overheated rhetoric. And of course, the liberal agitators will say that it's the price they've paid for allowing guns to on the streets.

Even a Russian lawmaker mocked this notion that "American Exception" is clearly not the golden standard.

One thing is clear about this political football it's going to be an agitator who peaks into who the person votes for.

Who cares what political affiliation he had?

Who cares what he's done before the shooting?

Leave all that for federal and state law enforcement. Because for all we know is that the man went on to the DC Navy Shipyard and started shooting. He killed 12 people. He was killed. He wanted to die.

We all hear that story about the shooter was being a "nice guy" and friendly! People who are rejected by women, jobs, society itself and are often look at as doormats are likely to snap. Being the "nice guy" is going to be considered a threat upon the country. Introverts and loners (basically the bullied) are likely to be the next mass shooter. It wouldn't matter on the race, the gender, the sexuality, the religion or social status.

The look of emotion on the faces of people.

The Boston Bombers, the Sandy Hook Shooter, the Aurora Movie Shooter, Christopher Dorner, George Zimmerman, the Fort Hood Shooter, the Wisconsin Sikh Temple Shooter, the Tucson Shooter, the DC snipers, the Virginia Tech Shooter and the Columbine Shooters.

These murderers were "nice guys".

If you're bullied by society, you're plotting for revenge against those who done you wrong.

You got fired.

You got dump by a girlfriend or boyfriend. Husband or wife.

You got financial issues.

You have a resentment towards the leadership in Washington.

You have no outlets to channel your rage.

You're off your meds?

You could be the next mass shooter!

Alexis, 34, originally of Fort Worth, Texas, recently began working at the Navy yard as a civilian contractor, the station reported. This could be the sole shooter in the tragic event. The FBI confirmed his identity in the afternoon.

It is the second-deadliest mass murder to have taken place on a U.S. military base after the Fort Hood shooting in November 2009 and the deadliest mass murder in the D.C. area since the September 11 attacks. Around 3,000 civilian and military personnel work in the building.

Born in Queens, New York, Alexis grew up in Brooklyn and was a resident of Fort Worth, Texas.
After joining the United States Navy in 2007, Alexis served in the Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 46 at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth.

Attaining the rank of a Aviation Electrician's Mate 3rd Class, he was discharged from the Navy in January 2011.

From September 2012 to January 2013, Alexis had worked "refreshing computer systems" on the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet network for a HP Enterprise Services subcontracting company called The Experts.

The president is clearly expressing outrage and a call to action. He's been pressuring Congress to pass reasonable gun control laws in the wake of these mass shootings.

He had been working online for a Bachelors degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Alexis had previously been arrested in Seattle, Washington, in 2004, for shooting out the tires of another man's vehicle in what he later described to detectives as a result of an anger-fueled "blackout".

In this incident, Alexis was arrested and booked into King County Jail for malicious mischief.

Alexis had also been arrested in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2010 for discharging a weapon within city limits.

Washington, D.C., Chief of Police Cathy L. Lanier initially stated police were searching for a white male wearing khaki military fatigues and a beret, and a black male wearing olive military fatigues and carrying a long gun. The white male has been identified and is no longer a suspect.

Alexis was being treated for severe anger management. It's apparent that he had some form of mental issues.

Now as the debate of gun control comes full steam ahead, the Republican and their conservative allies will find ways to distract us from it by saying the president and the Democrats are against the "Second Amendment".

They'll tell you that it's not the time for gun control in the time of tragedy. When you lose a family member, let us know? Because it's been more and more killings by firearms. And the lawmakers are getting dollars to keep the gun lobby happy.

I often feel rejected by society at times.

Pure fear.

But in no way I want to take out others because of my faults or weaknesses. I don't worry about those who done me wrong. It's hard to grit your teeth while dealing with the elements of society.

But the problem with society is that the mentally insane are offered access to firearms. There's no reasonable background checks for those who operate on firearms.

The U.S. Defense Department must now examine how they deal with the background checks of civilian and military officials on military bases. They will now probably enforce a stricter background check to those who want access on the bases.

The agitators will of course find someone to scapegoat for the issue. President Barack Obama is always first in line for blame. No matter what happens, he's the president and he's responsible for dealing with a crisis.

Then the agitators will blame each others. They'll attack the Democrats or the Republicans for using tragedy for political gains.

Then they'll find the most sympathetic person in the aftermath of tragedy. They'll tarnish the person's reputation to claim the individual has an "ulterior" motive to push some kind of extremist agenda.

They won't solve these problems until they become the problem. Maybe that could get the ball running on reasonable gun control.

So I'm waiting for the day that a lawmaker snaps and he starts aiming at a fellow lawmaker.

Tragedy In Washington, DC!

The DC Shipyard (or known as the Navy Yard) is within two miles of the U.S. Capitol. There's a breaking news event happening. There's a report of a shooting at the Yard.

Reports of a mass shooting once again sparks the feverish pitch for gun control. This time it happens in the lawmakers' backyard. The last mass shooting events were the Boston Marathon bombing, the Christopher Donner situation, the Newtown's Sandy Hook school shooting, and Aurora movie theater shooting.

There's a mass shooting at the Navy Yard and it's a report (not confirmed) that four people are dead and their are looking for the shooter.

Like the last time we've covered an event we've jumped to conclusions about who the individual was.

The mistake of jumping to conclusion is solely relied on the agitators. What CNN and the Associated Press is reporting that their are fatalities (confirmed). As far as they know it's ten people (not confirmed).

The Washington, DC police have responded immediately to the event. They have the possibility of more than one gunman (not confirmed).

When the DC police got to the investigation there were scenes of a mass causality event.

President Barack Obama, DC Mayor Vincent Gray and lawmakers were informed about the event.

The cable news networks are covering it. And it's not on the local news yet. But if they go live, it's a mass fatality event and it's another one for the record books.

Every mass shooting in America sparks the push for reasonable gun control. The National Rifle Association located in nearby Fairfax, Virginia has been lobbying members of Congress to stop legislation that restrict the usage of firearms.

They've deem President Barack Obama an enemy of the "Second Amendment".

They tuck their tails between their legs whenever a mass shooting comes forth. And these events, will even affect reasonable gun rights advocates. Some may look at this as a way to push for restrictions to have high powered firearms and undisputed variable magazine clips.

Wikipedia details the events. On September 16, 2013, a shooting took place at the yard at around 8:20 a.m EDT. Shots were fired at the headquarters for the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters building #197. A search for the shooter(s) is ongoing.

At least 10 people, including 8 civilians, 1 law enforcement officer and one military officer, were shot. Four of which were fatalities according to the United States Navy and Metro Police officials.

The United States Navy continued to tweet throughout the ordeal, revealing that a shelter in place order had been instructed after the initial shots were fired.

Multiple schools have been locked down, and many roadways and bridges have been closed.

The Associated Press reports a confirmation of death. At least 14 people, including at least 12 civilians, 1 D.C. police officer and one base officer, were shot. Seven fatalities have been reported.

At least 3 victims, a male police officer and two female civilians, were in critical condition and are being treated at Georgetown University Hospital.

At least one gunman opened fire inside a building at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday morning, and officials said six people were killed and at least four were wounded, including a law enforcement officer.

Police were looking for two other potential gunmen wearing military-style uniforms, including one who had on a beret, chief Cathy Lanier said.

Authorities have identified the dead shooter as a Navy employee whose work status had been changed earlier this year, said a federal government official who spoke only on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak on the record. While that may suggest the motive was job related, authorities haven't ruled out anything including terrorism, the official said. Lanier said she didn't think the other gunmen were part of the military.

Witnesses described a gunman opening fire from the fourth floor, aiming down on people in the first-floor cafeteria. Others said a gunman fired at them in a third-floor hallway. It wasn't clear whether the witnesses on different floors were describing the same gunman.

As emergency vehicles flooded the streets around the complex, a helicopter hovered overhead, nearby schools were on lockdown and airplanes at nearby Reagan National Airport were briefly grounded so they wouldn't interfere with law enforcement choppers. Less than 2 miles away, security was beefed up at the U.S. Capitol and other federal buildings, but officials said there was no known threat.

President Barack Obama mourned what he called "yet another mass shooting" in the U.S. that he says took the life of American patriots. Obama promised to make sure "whoever carried out this cowardly act is held responsible."

Two Navy officials confirmed at least six people had died. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the situation publicly.

About 3,000 people work at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters, which builds, buys and maintains the Navy's ships and submarines and combat systems.

Todd Brundidge, an executive assistant with Navy Sea Systems Command, said he and other co-workers encountered a gunman in a long hallway of their building on the third floor. The gunman was wearing all blue, he said.

"He just turned and started firing," Brundidge said.

Terrie Durham, an executive assistant with the same agency, said she also saw the gunman firing toward her and Brundidge.

"He aimed high and missed," she said. "He said nothing. As soon as I realized he was shooting, we just said, 'Get out of the building.'"

Rick Mason, a program management analyst who is a civilian with the U.S. Navy, said a gunman was shooting from a fourth floor overlook in the hallway outside his office. He said the gunman was aiming down at people in the building's cafeteria.

Shortly after the gunfire, Mason said someone on an overhead speaker told workers to seek shelter and later to head for the gates at the complex.

Patricia Ward, a logistics management specialist, said she was in the cafeteria getting breakfast.

"It was three gunshots straight in a row — pop, pop, pop. Three seconds later, it was pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, so it was like about a total of seven gunshots, and we just started running," Ward told reporters several blocks away from the Navy Yard.

Ward said security officers started directing people out of the building with guns drawn.

Police and federal agents from multiple law enforcement agencies responded. Ambulances were parked outside, streets in the area were closed and departures from Reagan National Airport were temporarily halted for security reasons.

Janis Orlowski, chief operating officer of Washington Hospital Center, told reporters the hospital was treating three gunshot victims in critical condition. One was Washington, D.C., metropolitan police officer and two were civilian women.

Orlowski said the police officer was in the operating room with gunshot wounds to the legs. A woman had a gunshot wound to the shoulder and the other had gunshot wounds to the head and hand.

District of Columbia schools officials said 12 public and charter schools and one administrative building in the vicinity of the Navy Yard were placed on lockdown. The action was taken out an abundance of caution, schools spokeswoman Melissa Salmanowitz said.

The Homeland Security Department said security was stepped up at federal buildings in Washington as a precaution in the wake of the shooting.

Naval Sea Systems Command is the largest of the Navy's five system commands and accounts for a quarter of the Navy's entire budget. Only security personnel were allowed to be armed on the campus.

The Navy Yard has three gates, according to its website. One is open 24/7, and must be used by visitors. A second gate is only for military and civilian Defense Department employees and the other is for bus traffic.

The Navy Yard is part of a fast-growing neighborhood on the banks of the Anacostia River in southeast Washington, just blocks from Nationals Park.
