We have confirmed that this is a planned attack.



Unconfirmed reports from Fox News that Boston Police have a "person of interest" in custody. There's a report of a young individual who is possibly a "foreign national" who was injured and is at guarded condition at the Massachusetts General in Boston. The person of interest is in custody. We have no name or nationality of this individual. There are reports from the junk food media saying blame is to a Saudi national, but there's no confirmation of this.

There was third bomb located near the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. This exploded without injury.

But overall, all we know at this moment is there were two bombs that went off at the Boston Marathon.

This marks another horrible tragedy in America. This tragedy in April adds to the already memorable horror of the Oklahoma City bombing, Columbine High School shooting, Virginia Tech shooting and now this event.

Governor Deval Patrick, Boston's mayor Thomas Menino and President Barack Obama express sorrow for those lost in this incident. They want those involved captured and brought to justice.

The Attorney General Eric Holder, Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano, FBI director Robert Mueller are involved.

This tragedy will spark debate over gun control, illegal immigration, terrorism and hate crimes towards Americans who are Muslim or Sikh.

One runner, a Rhode Island state trooper, said he saw at least two dozen people with very serious injuries, including missing limbs.

About two hours after the winners crossed the line, there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Another explosion could be heard a few seconds later.

The Boston Marathon said that bombs caused the two explosions and that organizers were working with authorities to determine what happened. The Boston Police Department said two people were killed and 23 others injured.

Competitors and race volunteers were crying as they fled the chaos. Bloody spectators were being carried to the medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners. Authorities went onto the course to carry away the injured while stragglers in the 26.2-mile race were rerouted away from the smoking site.

Roupen Bastajian, a 35-year-old state trooper from Greenville, R.I., had just finished the race when they put the heat blanket wrap on him and he heard the first blast.

"I started running toward the blast. And there were people all over the floor," he said. "We started grabbing tourniquets and started tying legs. A lot of people amputated. ... At least 25 to 30 people have at least one leg missing, or an ankle missing, or two legs missing."



A Boston police officer was wheeled from the course with a leg injury that was bleeding.

"There are a lot of people down," said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina. He was not injured, but marathon workers were carrying one woman, who did not appear to be a runner, to the medical area as blood gushed from her leg.

Smoke rose from the blasts, fluttering through the national flags lining the route of the world's oldest and most prestigious marathon. TV helicopter footage showed blood staining the pavement in the popular shopping and tourist area known as the Back Bay.

A third explosion was heard about an hour after the first two after authorities warned spectators to expect a loud noise from a water cannon.

"There are people who are really, really bloody," said Laura McLean, a runner from Toronto, who was in the medical tent being treated for dehydration when she was pulled out to make room for victims of the explosions. "They were pulling them into the medical tent."

Cherie Falgoust was waiting for her husband, who was running the race.

"I was expecting my husband any minute," she said. "I don't know what this building is ... it just blew. Just a big bomb, a loud boom, and then glass everywhere. Something hit my head. I don't know what it was. I just ducked."

Runners who had not finished the race were diverted straight down Commonwealth Avenue and into a family meeting area, according to an emergency plan that had been in place.

BOSTON (AP) -- Two bombs exploded in the packed streets near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing two people and injuring more than 80 in a terrifying scene of shattered glass, billowing smoke, bloodstained pavement and severed limbs, authorities said.

A senior U.S. intelligence official said two other explosive devices were found near the end of the 26.2-mile course.

At the White House, President Barack Obama vowed that those responsible will "feel the full weight of justice."

There was no word on the motive or who may have launched the attack, and police said no suspect was in custody. Authorities in Washington said there was no immediate claim of responsibility.

"They just started bringing people in with no limbs," said runner Tim Davey, of Richmond, Va. He said he and his wife, Lisa, tried to keep their children's eyes shielded from the gruesome scene inside a medical tent that had been set up to care for fatigued runners, but "they saw a lot."

"They just kept filling up with more and more casualties," Lisa Davey said. "Most everybody was conscious. They were very dazed."

The twin blasts at the race took place almost simultaneously and about 100 yards apart, tearing limbs off numerous people, knocking spectators and at least one runner off their feet, shattering windows and sending smoke rising over the street.

Some 23,000 runners took part in the race, one of the world's oldest and most prestigious marathons. One of Boston's biggest annual events, the race winds up near Copley Square, not far from the landmark Prudential Center and the Boston Public Library. It is held on Patriots Day, which commemorates the first battles of the American Revolution, at Concord and Lexington in 1775.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis asked people to stay indoors or go back to their hotel rooms and avoid crowds as bomb squads methodically checked parcels and bags left along the race route. He said investigators didn't know whether the bombs were planted in mailboxes or trash cans.

He said authorities had received "no specific intelligence that anything was going to happen" at the race.

The Federal Aviation Administration barred low-flying aircraft from within 3.5 miles of the site.

Obama was briefed on the explosions by Homeland Security adviser Lisa Monaco. Obama also told Mayor Tom Menino and Gov. Deval Patrick that his administration would provide whatever support was needed, the White House said.

"We still don't know who did this or why," Obama said, adding, "Make no mistake: We will get to the bottom of this."

A few miles away from the finish line and around the same time, a fire broke out at the John F. Kennedy Library. The police commissioner said it may have been caused by an incendiary device but didn't appear to be related to the bombings.

About four hours into the race and two hours after the men's winner crossed the line, there was a loud explosion on the north side of Boylston Street, just before the photo bridge that marks the finish line. Another explosion could be heard a few seconds later.

By that point, more than 17,000 of the runners had finished the race, but thousands of others were farther back along the course.

The Boston Police Department said two people were killed. Hospitals reported at least 82 injured, at least eight of them critically.

A senior U.S. intelligence official said the two other explosive devices found nearby were being dismantled. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the findings publicly.

A woman who was a few feet from the second bomb, Brighid Wall, 35, of Duxbury, said that when it exploded, runners and spectators froze, unsure of what to do. Her husband threw their children to the ground, lay on top of them and another man lay on top of them and said, "Don't get up, don't get up."

After a minute or so without another explosion, Wall said, she and her family headed to a Starbucks and out the back door through an alley. Around them, the windows off the bars and restaurants were blown out.

She said she saw six to eight people bleeding profusely, including one man who was kneeling, dazed, with blood coming down his head. Another person was on the ground covered in blood and not moving.

"My ears are zinging. Their ears are zinging. It was so forceful. It knocked us to the ground."

Competitors and race volunteers were crying as they fled the chaos. Authorities went onto the course to carry away the injured while race stragglers were rerouted away from the smoking site.

Boston Athletic Association president Joanne Flaminio previously said there was "special significance" to the fact that the race is 26.2 miles long and 26 people died at Sandy Hook Elementary school.

The number of casualties changed rapidly throughout the afternoon. Two people were killed and more than 130 others were injured, according to a preliminary statement from the Boston Police Department. The number rose to more than 100 injured shortly after 5 p.m. and kept growing as the day progressed, the Boston Globe reported.

The first blast filled a spectator gallery near the finish line with a gray cloud of smoke. Screaming witnesses immediately fled the area. Ten seconds later, a second explosion jolted the crowd.

Streets reserved exclusively for runners filled with emergency crews, as first responders climbed fences to reach wounded athletes and spectators. Flags from nations represented in the race were thrown to the ground

Medical tents set up for runners are being used to treat individuals with injuries.

Police chief Ed Davis said that a third incident took place at the JFK Library in Boston.

"We are not sure if these incidents are related, but we are treating them as if they are," he said.

An unexploded device was also recovered, Davis said.

More than 27,000 runners participated in this year's Marathon, which takes places every year on Patriot's Day, a state holiday in Massachusetts.

COP FIRED FOR USING TARGETS THAT RESEMBLE TRAYVON MARTIN (CNN)

(CNN) -- The Florida police sergeant fired for possessing shooting targets resembling Trayvon Martin defended himself Sunday and said the targets were meant to be used as training aids for "no-shoot" situations.

Sgt. Ron King was fired from his job as a firearms instructor for the Port Canaveral Police Department on Friday after an internal review determined he possessed the paper targets and offered them to fellow officers for use during a firearms training session earlier this month.

"When informed of the basic facts, (I) found the entire situation unacceptable," John Walsh, the interim chief executive of the Canaveral Port Authority, told reporters Saturday. "It is not the type of behavior that I want a police officer to have on both a personal and professional level. I find his conduct intolerable and I demanded that the chief immediately start procedures to terminate this employee."

The paper targets show a faceless black hooded sweatshirt with a bull's-eye on the chest. In one hand is a can of iced tea and in the pocket is a pack of Skittles candy, the same items Martin was carrying when he was shot and killed last year in a case that has drawn national attention.

King, in a video statement posted online, said he bought the targets because the two items -- the Skittles and iced tea -- were not threatening, which meant the target could be used to help train officers when not to shoot a suspect.

King did not say where he bought the targets, but similar ones caused a controversy when they were first sold online a year ago.

"While others have used it as a novelty, I view it as a tool for scenario-based firearms training," King said.

Using "real-life situations" as training scenarios is not uncommon for firearms instructors, he said, and they help teach police how to respond to incidents in the future.

"The only stupid act I performed was to believe that some of my coworkers would be mature enough and care enough to use a bad situation as a learning tool," King said, referring to the Martin case.

Port Canaveral is just an hour away from Sanford, where the 17-year-old Martin was killed in February 2012 as he walked home at night from a convenience store.

George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, is awaiting trial on a second-degree murder charge in Martin's death. He says he shot Martin in self-defense.

King, who was hired in January 2011, disputed some of the details Walsh gave to reporters, including that he offered the targets to other officers to shoot. He said he showed them to only one, a fellow sergeant, to find out whether he thought they could be useful training aids.

King said he offered one of the targets to the sergeant after the sergeant said his son would "get a kick" out of them. Instead of taking it, he said, the sergeant took a picture and then used the image to file a complaint about King.

"To the Martin family, I would like to apologize again for those law enforcement officials that chose to use your son's death as an element for their personal and political gains," King said. "I assure you that the use of these targets that are in question is to prevent a tragedy from taking place."

On Saturday, Martin family attorney Ben Crump condemned the use of the targets as "absolutely reprehensible."

"Such a deliberate and depraved indifference to this grieving family is unacceptable," Crump said in a statement.

The Associated Press and Reuters news wires report that at least a dozen people were injured after a pair of explosions detonated near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday afternoon, the Boston Globe's Twitter feed reported.

The twin blasts resulted in a lockdown at the marathon, which finished up before the explosions were reported, according to Reuters.

There were no immediate reports of the exact number of casualties. The Globe reported “multiple people” were injured.

An international event such as the Boston Marathon attracts thousands of attendees. This explosion has known fatalities.

Witnesses reportedly heard two booms that sounded like two claps of thunder near the finish line inside the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel.

The explosions occurred just before 3 p.m. Video of the scene showed a number of emergency crews in the area tending to victims and blood on the ground near the finish line.

"I saw two explosions. The first one was beyond the finish line. I heard a loud bang and I saw smoke rising," Boston Herald reporter Chris Cassidy, who was running in the marathon, told the newspaper. "I kept running and I heard behind me a loud bang. It looked like it was in a trash can or something...There are people who have been hit with debris, people with bloody foreheads.”

Conservatives attack mother of a Sandy Hook victim. Francine Wheeler stands in for President Barack Obama and the conservative agitators are not happy. Some goes as far to say that they're 15 minutes of fame are over!

On the weekly address to the nation (found on the White House and Republican National Committee website), the president and the Republican chosen deliver an outlook to the agenda that are proposed.

President Barack Obama introduced the country to the social networks. The president does his weekly address on Friday and puts it on the social networks by Saturday morning.

The Republicans are upset that President Barack Obama flew the families of the Sandy Hook tragedy to Washington, DC to lobby politicos to pass gun control.

Francine Wheeler, the mother of Benjamin Wheeler appears as the president's stand-in for the weekly address.

I wonder if the conservative agitators would attack a mom who just lost her child?

Let's look at comment section from The Blaze and see if they have a form of compassion for a mother who lost one of children in one of the worst tragedies in American history.

  Don’t let your kids become victims, arm yourself and arm responsible school officials. If a couple of school Officials would of had guns in Newton this whole tragedy could have been avoided. The headlines would have read Man shot to death as he attempted to kill children in a school. If you live in a gun restrictive state get your children out of school and home school them. How are the children going to be protected when the only ones with guns are the criminals?

    Someone should ask Barry Obama and Congress about the 211 children murdered last year by Drunk Drivers in the United States.

    What these parents should ask: Why was there no investigation conducted when Adam Lanza was denied a Firearm purchase for refusing to follow Connecticut State Gun Laws? These parents should ask Eric Holder why the justice department is not prosecuting people caught with or trying buy firearms illegally? What these parents should ask: Why are the lives of our children (gun free zone) not as important as elected officials (heavy security?)
    Also, using the same logic of the parents about banning Firearms – why do we not ban automobiles and alcohol – 27 people are murdered everyday in the United States by Drunk Drivers – 3 more people murdered a day then from Firearms.     Does anyone in Conneticut, or New York or California or Illinois and anywhere else for that matter, who claims to have right on their side in the name of the children, know that they are simply being used for a much bigger progressive purpose?     I can tell you this, if something like this happened to my child, I would be lobbying for less restrictions on guns! I put my daughter on the bus everyday and wonder why I do it, when deep inside I know, she has no protection inside the walls of her school.     i feel her pain..but that grab the guns type PSA reminds me of the commercials we used to see of starving emaciated, dying children of the Congo and other nations in that region while begging for much needed funds to save just one child…again I feel & understand her pain..but between her and the parents who formed a gauntlet for the Connecticut legislators to walk through as they parents of sandy hook handed out glossy pics/cards with their dead children saying save just one life.save all childen from this..is as low as a PR campaign that Joseph Goebbels could have ever dreamed up.. Again..i understand their pain..I have seen first hand what a body of a child that has been torn apart in car wrecks as well as gun shot wounds far too many times..but this and those at the statehouse were politically way out of line..abnd all they did was rub a little emotional hand cream to sooth some rough dry skin..the laws those states passed will nor ever stop that kind of thing from ever happening again.And if does happen again then what laws/restrictions will come next ?

    I feel deeply for this mother in the loss of her child. I don’t know how I would handle this if it was my child but
    doesn’t she realize she is just becoming a pawn of Obama? She has become a puppet for the far left liberal media and his royal majesty Obama.
    Her story willbring tears to many but she should relaize that if there had been armed guards and selected school personel, trained to respond along with publicity that the school was protected, the tragedy would have never happened. The looney would have selected a softer target. His intent was to kill as many as possible. Facing the knowledge ofarmed resistance he would have changed his mind.

    When I was a child my family was attacked by two men with butcher knives. Do I get to make a televised plea to Americans to arm themselves?

    If Americans allow the government to take their guns, then I’ll give up on them. For me the question becomes, how will I protect my family from the slaves and their masters?
    This whole thing is surreal.
    Watching so many American women consistently support collectivism is astounding. Maybe the men back in the day had a point in not allowing them to vote? They seem to be in one big hurry to enslave themselves AND their sons.
    Maybe this is the end for the US.

They are being used by the Team Obama not for the public good because Obama could care less how many people are killed by firearms especially if they are white.     When was it stolen?
    When was it a robbery?\

The Huffington Post reports that the mother of a 6-year-old boy killed in the Connecticut school shooting used the opportunity to fill in for President Barack Obama during the weekly radio and Internet address to make a personal plea from the White House for action to combat gun violence.

"Thousands of other families across the United States are also drowning in our grief," said Francine Wheeler, choking back tears in the address broadcast Saturday. "Please help us do something before our tragedy becomes your tragedy."

Ben Wheeler was among the 20 first-graders and six adults killed in the Dec. 14 attack at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.

Francine Wheeler was the first person to deliver the address other than Obama or Vice President Joe Biden since the two took office in 2009.

Her husband, David Wheeler, sat silently next to her as she made the recording in the White House Library. Both wore the small green pins that have become a symbol of the shooting.

Obama asked Wheeler to deliver this week's address, which was taped Friday. The White House said Wheeler and her husband wrote the remarks.

"Sometimes, I close my eyes and all I can remember is that awful day waiting at the Sandy Hook Volunteer Firehouse for the boy who would never come home – the same firehouse that was home to Ben's Tiger Scout Den 6," Francine Wheeler said. "But other times, I feel Ben's presence filling me with courage for what I have to do, for him and all the others taken from us so violently and too soon."

Some of the Sandy Hook families, with Obama's blessing, have launched a stepped-up effort to push a gun control bill through Congress.

Obama traveled Monday to Hartford, Conn., about an hour's drive from Newtown, to make his case for action. On the return trip to Washington, he brought back 12 of the victims' family members, who have been meeting with senators.
