Forum on Venezuela | venezuelanalysis.com

Forum on Venezuela | venezuelanalysis.com: "On December 2, by a slim 50.7 percent to 49.3 percent margin, Venezuelans rejected a slate of sixty-nine constitutional reforms championed by President Hugo Chávez. Fiercely debated in Venezuela, the referendum sparked a spirited discussion among our contributors.

Many of Chávez's proposals--lowering the voting age; prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, race or disability; expanding social security; shortening the workweek; and requiring gender parity in candidates for elected office--were greatly admired. Other measures--such as the elimination of term limits on the presidency and the expansion of executive power to declare a state of emergency--were less well received."

» People Stop The Noose Insanity - By ¡Para Justicia y Libertad!: "The media spotlight might have shone most intensely on Jena, LA, but a symbol of racial violence has been hung across America lately. There have been more incidents of hanging nooses and some are directly aimed at certain groups of people. It is hard to ignore where this country is headed, the current rise in noose sightings reveal an ugly truth about race relations in the United States."

Videotape shows Sharpton cutting a deal | Philadelphia Inquirer | 12/15/2007: "With a hidden FBI camera rolling inside a New York hotel suite in 2003, an unsuspecting Rev. Al Sharpton, Democratic candidate for president, spoke candidly.

Sharpton offered to help Philadelphia fund-raiser Ronald A. White win a multimillion-dollar business deal, if White helped him raise $50,000 for politics.

White offered $25,000. 'If you bring my guys up on this hedge fund, and I have the right conversation,' White said, 'I'll give you what you need.'

'Cool,' Sharpton said."

Al Sharpton responds to FBI & IRS investigation

The FBI and IRS have started an investigation into Al Sharpton's finances with regard to his 2004 Presidential campaign. Now I don't know whether Al Sharpton is guilty of anything or not but if I believed in C-O-N spiracy theories I would find it odd that about a month after a march against the U.S. Justice Department that same Justice Department begins an investigation into one of the march's organizers. Click the link below to watch Al Sharpton's response to these charges.

Black Male Appreciation

Black Male Appreciation: "Amid the profusion of dismal statistics about Black male students’ college-enrollment rates nationwide, the University System of Georgia recently showcased a ray of light: Over the past five years, Black male enrollment at the state’s 35 public colleges and universities has jumped 25 percent. That change has effectively closed Georgia’s gender gap in the rate of enrollment growth among African-American men and women within the university system."
