We are wrapping up the final days of the worst presidency in modern history.

The latest jobs report for the month of December leaves a bitter taste in President Donald J. Trump's mouth. It appears that the coronavirus pandemic has done far worse damage to the job market. For the first time since April 2020, the jobs numbers are in the red.

December shows that the U.S. job market lost 140,000. This closes out 2020.

So the unemployment rate will remain at 6.7%.

Economists were expecting there would be at least 50,000 jobs added to the economy.

What got affected by the losses. Those in the restaurant, bars, leisure and travel.

Hospitality businesses like airlines, casinos, hotels, concert venues, theme parks and entertainment centers took the hit. 

With the pandemic eliminating the large gatherings, many companies like Chuck E Cheese. Golden Corral, Dave & Busters, American Airlines and Wyndham Hotels are taking nosedives. They may not survive 2021.

Congress failure to pass legislation to keep Americans from falling into economic hardships also caused a strain on the job market.

Biden will take the oath of office on January 20th.

State and local governments, which are coping with massive pandemic related revenue declines, lost about 50,000 jobs. The hospitality industry lost 498,000 jobs.

Since the pandemic wiped away 20.9 million jobs, the economy has been struggling to regain its footing. The failure to prepare for this global pandemic has ruined everything Trump's done since he's entered the White House. 

Things that make you go hmmm.....

1. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris were certified by Congress as the duly elected leaders of the United States. On Thursday morning,  Congress finally approved the Electoral College after the U.S. Capitol was besieged by a mob. U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was killed after he was hit in the head and it triggered a massive stroke. Four people were killed.  The events of the past few days have Congress mulling impeachment. The White House is also being pressured to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald J. Trump. He is responsible for inciting a riot and is responsible for the deadly outcome. 

2. The Senate will be in split 50-50. The Georgia run offs were successful for the Democrats. The run off wins by Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) has the Democrats in control of the Senate. Harris will be the deciding factor in many controversial votes. The Senate Republicans will no longer have the power to block nominees for Biden's Cabinet and his federal court nominees. The Supreme Court nominees will only take a simple majority to confirm.

 

3. Donald J. Trump becomes the third U.S. President to be impeached while in office. He is also a part of the "One-Term" club. Trump likely to be impeached again thanks to the chaos at the U.S. Capitol. Democrats have introduced Articles of Impeachment against the president. Trump has considered running again for 2024. He will not attend the inauguration of Joe Biden. 

4. The U.S. has nearly 35 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus. There are over 320,000 Americans who died from the coronavirus. The disease has spread across the states and many individuals are dying from it. Trump is telling the junk food media that the "virus will go away." 

5. Brick and mortar stores are shuttering in suburbia. Gap, Stein Mart, Golden Corral, Pier One, Chuck E Cheese, Lord & Taylor, Men's Warehouse, J. Crew and Neiman Marcus have filed for bankruptcy. Papyrus, Family Video, Modell's Sporting Goods, Pet Valu and Art Van Furniture are going out of business and plan on liquidating their businesses. JCPenney, Macy's, Forever 21, Hallmark, Jo Ann Fabrics, Kmart and Sears are on death kneel. Walgreens, Walmart, Kroger are closing stores. Walmart and Kroger are no longer operating stores on a 24-hour format. The Waffle House, a longtime restaurant establishment that never closes has over 549 locations in the country still closed due to the coronavirus. The coronavirus has changed the dynamic of operations in superstores. They are closing stores at 8:30pm, midnight and 1am to eliminate workers. Dunkin (Donuts) are closing over 800 stores in the United States. Tim Hortons is closing 400 stores in the United States. Steak 'N Shake are closing over 125 stores in the United States. McDonald's is closing 300 stores in the United States. Walgreens is closing over 200 stores. 

6. No one is seeing the results the recently passed COVID-19 relief. The measly $600 only helped with a minor bill or a month's rent. The Job and Tax Cuts Act and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. The Trump Tax Cuts and CARES Act hasn't really improved Americans lives. Congress squandered time. Now those in the airline, retail, luxury and hospitality industry will suffer. Casinos, luxury cruise lines, airlines, hotels and sporting events were the most affected by the coronavirus.

7. Folks affected by COVID-19 are not working. Those who have worked a full-time job or multiple jobs are now forced off because of state order shutdowns. Some have worked one or more jobs to stay afloat. Conservatives have claimed that Americans who use the safety net are lazy. They now see the impact of Americans being laid off from their jobs (at no fault of their own). They still are trying to make the argument that folks who are now getting these checks are going to demand more. A measly $1,200 isn't going to help Americans spend. It's going to help them one time with bills and rent. They don't realize that many Americans are working more than 40 hours and are often staying longer hours or working a second job to pay rent, mortgage or vehicle expenses. Insurance rates are up due to Trump rolling back regulations, eliminating the insurance mandate of the Affordable Care Act, and private insurance companies aren't paying for natural disasters and human based disasters. 

8. Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the European Union and Japan have temporarily banned Americans from entry. 

9. Americans are struggling with paying rent on their homes. The CARES Act expired in July and many Americans are now suffering from the failure of Congress. The House of Representatives have passed their version of the CARES Act. The Republicans in the Senate have continued to stall legislation because of their stupid principles. Many Republicans continues to believe that Americans getting federal assistance are "lazy" and not willing to work. That ignorance should be an anchor on Republicans who are struggling to win their reelection bids.

10. The United States has confirmed that the Pfizer and Merdona have vaccines. The United Kingdom has authorized its use. So fathere were 15 million doses issued to Americans. A Wisconsin man deliberated damaged vaccines. The U.S. has still shaky ground to cover. The vaccine must be approved by the FDA. Former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have said that they will try it out to ease concerns. Pence, Biden and Harris took the vaccines.

Now many facilities are dealing with the fallout of the coronavirus. They are setting up face guards, they reducing facility capacities, cutting hours and making mandatory distancing at businesses.

No one can wait forever for changes. Congress is made up of old, white and well off politicians.

Pelosi will issue Articles of Impeachment against Trump.

Food prices, energy prices, rent, city services and college education have risen. With folks not working, the fears of being thrown on the street are live and direct. Folks are struggling to make ends meet as well as landlords, mortgage brokers and those who need the money to repair facilities.

This is the end of the Trump presidency. In the four years of his presidency, America has become more divided, sicker, poorer and dumber.

President Donald J. Trump finally concedes to Joseph R. Biden II. But the damage is done and his closest allies are socially distancing themselves from his presidency.

The pandemic has killed over 400,000 Americans. The coronavirus has a daily kill rate of 5,000 a day. There are over 35 million people in the United States infected by the coronavirus. There is no end in sight. Despite Pfizer and Moderna rolling out their vaccines, the American people will not get vaccinations in 2021. It may be going into 2022.

By that time, U.S. television shows will be permanently cancelled. There will be nearly 1.4 million Americans dead. There will be possible new strains entering the country and being immune to the coronavirus.

If things don't improve, we might call ourselves and endangered species. Trust me, the United States has for the first time had a slower birth rate. Our death rate has increased significantly. Due to the coronavirus and gun violence, the country will be stalling on growth.

The graphic image of a woman being rolled out to an ambulance was the result of the U.S. Secret Service shooting her after they gave warning to not proceed toward a protected barrier.

It appears that Department of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos will join Elaine Chao, Mick Mulvaney and Stephanie Grisholm. 

The longest serving member of the Trump administration is resigning. 

On Thursday, DeVos submitted her letter of resignation citing the president's tepid response to the mob violence at the U.S. Capitol.

The chaos at the U.S. Capitol will be possibly the last thing to add to Trump's disgraceful presidency. 

They can't control Trump.

Considered one of the most inexperienced members of the Trump team, DeVos used her Amway knowledge to education. It was a giant pyramid scheme to rollback Obama era rules.

She rolled back health eating policies in schools. She imposed bans on education and safety measures for those in the LGBTQ+ community. 

In a letter addressed to Trump, she squarely laid the mayhem of the U.S. Capitol on the feet of the president. She said that appreciates the time but it's time for her to move on.

"There is no mistaking the impact your rhetoric had on the situation, and it is the inflection point for me," she wrote. "Impressionable children are watching all of this, and they are learning from us."

DeVos had distanced herself from the president since the election. She knew that Trump was stroking fire but didn't act on it.

"Mr. President, I know with certainty that history will show we were correct in our repeated urging of and support for schools reopening this year and getting all of America's students back to learning," she wrote.

DeVos has also urged the president to not allow the incoming Biden administration change her policies. She said that she wants to make a lasting effort to helping America's children.

The outgoing secretary added that, "we should be highlight your administration's many accomplishments on behalf of the American people. Instead, we are left to clean up the mess caused by violent protesters overrunning the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to undermine the people's business."

"Impressionable children," she said, "are watching all of this and they are learning from us."

DeVos is married to Dick DeVos, the former president of Amway Corp. She is the sister of Erik Prince, the founder of the military contractor Blackwater USA. She is good friends with the Grand Rapids grocer Meijer family.

Hank Meijer's son, Peter is a U.S. Representative who replaced former Republican turned independent--Libertarian lawmaker Justin Amash.

Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI) won his election and voted against certifying Biden to be the president.

The chaos at the U.S. Capitol has exposed our nation's deep divide between race, class, politics and patriotism. Now confirmed, five people died in this unrest.

Washington, DC mayor Muriel Bowser has imposed a curfew and state of emergency for the city and plans to hold this until February.

Twitter has finally allowed the president to tweet. The president has finally conceded to his rival. He made brief statement finally condemning the actions and promising that those involve will be criminally charged. He also said that he will ensure a smooth transition for the next administration.

Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok has placed Trump's accounts on an indefinite suspension.

The former presidents, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama has condemned Trump. President-elect Joe Biden has also condemned the actions.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is being warned that her antics will not be tolerated.

It is utter chaos in the country and we can thank Donald J. Trump, Fox News and the far-right agitators who embraced it.

So you remember Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS)? He and eight other U.S. Senators despite being taken to a place of safety during the chaos continued on this farce of contesting the election.

I guess his successor was a part of it as well. He confirmed that he now has the coronavirus and is being treated at a local hospital.

Rep. Jake LaTurner (R-KS) replaced Marshall and is now a freshman lawmaker. He is the latest member of the new class to confirm he has the coronavirus.

Rep-elect Luke Letlow (R-LA) died in December 2020 after contracting the coronavirus. 

The 41-year old Republican won his run-off election in December. He tested positive for the coronavirus and ended up being taken to the hospital. His condition worsen and thus he was taken to Shreveport where he had died. Now his death will require the Louisiana governor to issue a special election to replace him. 

LaTurner who voted against certifying Biden tested positive for the coronavirus. How ironic that many Republicans who refuse to wear masks are the ones catching this shit.

The Kansas lawmaker is asymptomatic but is being taken to the hospital to check his health. 

"Late Wednesday evening, Congressman Jake LaTurner recieved a positive test for COVID-19. Congressman LaTurnertook the test as part of Washington, DC's travel guideline that require visitors be tested. He is not experiencing symptoms at this time."

The statement continued. 

"Congressman LaTurner is following the advice of the House physician and CDC guidelines and therefore, does not plan to return to the House floor for votes until he is cleared to do so."

As of tonight, Twitter allowed the country's leader back on its platform. It will now monitor the postings and has placed a final warning on the leader of the free world.

Tweet respectfully or face permanent ban. 

In a Twitter message, the President of the United States reluctantly concedes.

The decision to finally concede comes Congress officially certifies the rival as the next President of the United States. It also comes after Republicans and Democrats roundly condemned him for inspiring a violent insurrection.

With over 400,000 Americans dead from the coronavirus, the country is no where close to the end of this pandemic. The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines have been issued to a first wave of Americans. But it may be a little too late with new strains of the virus popping up in the United States. We have over 5,000 people die a day from the coronavirus. We have over 33 million infections in the United States.

Tonight, the president speaks on the attack of the U.S. Capitol.

The president was finally allowed to post on social media. He finally conceded to his rival, Joseph R. Biden II.

He said that going forward he stated that "tempers must be cool and calm restored."

Trump called his presidency an "incredible journey" and say this is "only the beginning."

"To all my wonderful supporters, I know you are disappointed, but I also want you to know our incredible journey is only just beginning. Thank you and God Bless America."

Trump personally whipped up a mob to attack the very heart of democracy. The chaos at the U.S. Capitol will live in infamy. It will be the final stain on a disgraceful presidency.

The incident put Vice President Mike Pence's life in danger. It placed Vice President-elect Kamala Harris' life in danger. All elected leaders had to scramble to locations away from the destruction.

Many of the lawmakers had to wear chemical resistant masks in the wake of federal authorities using tear gas and pepper bombs.

There was destruction in many lawmaker's offices. Most notable was the office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). The lawmaker's office was ransacked and looted.

Lawmakers had to take cover when U.S. Capitol Police and U.S. Secret Service agents fired upon the mob. A woman was killed after she tried to penetrate the bubble.

The whole ordeal lasted five hours and led to five deaths and numerous arrests. It also opened wounds. The U.S. Capitol Police treated the mob like it was harmless. There were videos of some of the officers just doing a "stand down" when it came to the mob. 

This was compared to the brutal responses when antifa and Black Lives Matter engage in protests. The law would be in full combat and restraint mode. The videos of Black Lives Matter protesters getting brutally attacked by police is the one thing that comes to mind.

Second, the way this was handled was embarassing. The police were outgunned, outmanned and outsmarted by this mob. 

Third, if it wasn't for Trump, Fox News and the far-right agitators of the junk food media, this incident would have never happened. It would have stayed only to social media. But thanks to Trump calling for his supporters to "pressure" Republicans into denying Biden the presidency, we have January 6, 2021 as the final moments in the president's disgraceful legacy.

The fallout is coming. Facebook has suspended Trump's social media page indefinitely until the transition is complete. 

The U.S. Capitol had damage.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) was planning on releasing a memoir through Simon & Schuster. 

The book publisher has formally cut ties with the Missouri senator. He was at the forefront of the uprising.

The sergeant-at-arms for the House along with the Senate resigns. Pelosi announced that Paul Irving will resign from his position effective immediately. 

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced that Michael Stenger will resign from his post.

The U.S. Capitol Police chief Steven Sund will also resign from his position as well. He will use his remaining days of sick leave once he steps down.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany had to the most difficult day. She had to answer for Trump. The press secretary said the White House denounces the events of Wednesday and credits Trump for ordering the national guard to take control of the matter.

Some believe that Pence had pressured Trump to do something. The vice president had to be stationed in a disclosed area for eight hours. It was an event that had Pence steaming out the ears. It's alleged that he confined in Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK). 

Pence called Trump, a sorry sack of shit. He felt that Trump threw him under the bus. He directly told the president that he can't legally overturn the results of the election. Trump refused to hear that. Trump placed his vice president in danger. 

Biden said that Trump's decision to incite a riot will go down in infamy.

Now it's appears that some believe that Pence will just finish out his term and limit his conversations with Trump. Pence said he will attend the inaugration of Biden.

There is pressure for Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment. Pence has not ruled it out but kept saying that he will allow the process of transition to continue. House Democrats have not ruled out drafting the Article of Impeachment on Trump.

Republicans may want to put down the "fear" and "patriotism" card. It's been played out.

It appears the Republicans continue to not take this pandemic seriously. With lawmakers like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) refusing to wear a mask on House floor to Rep. Lauren Boebart (R-CO) carrying a firearm on the House floor, the Republicans are making it clear: "They don't give a fuck!"

Well they better. This U.S. Capitol attack better snap these far-right lawmakers out of that trance of fear-mongering and red-baiting.
