Juicy J's Twerk Scholarship Draws Ire From Women's Groups!

Entertainer faces ire of women for "twerk" scholarship offer.

If you can work that behind, you may get a scholarship from entertainer Juicy J. And of course, you may also get the shame of women's right groups.

Black America Web reports that the entertainer is offering $50,000 for the best twerk. Yeah, he's serious about that.

Here's the entertainer speaking about it.

Some women's groups are upset over this. Two Black extremists aren't happy about it and are calling for a boycott of his album.

Seeka tha Teacha, head of the Hip Hop Liberation Army along with colleagues Abena Afreeka and Sis Tricey are too pissed off and are calling for a boycott of the rapper’s CD. Appearing on the weekly rap program, “Militant Minded Radio,” they presented a lively discussion on this display of what can be called a byproduct of misogynistic thinking. We ask for your forgiveness in advance as the speaker’s did not identify themselves so we had to play a guessing game.

“There’s no honor in getting a scholarship for shaking your behind….I think its degrading,” says one of the women we think may be Seeka Tha Teacha, a mother. “Why would you want to get a scholarship for that when there’s a lot of intelligent women out here who use their brain. Why don’t you give them some money,” she continues, adding that she would never want her daughter doing anything like that.

“I know Juicy J [is] probably sittin’ back laughing at all the women that’s gonna come and shake they ass for this money. It’s all a game,” she continues.

“I think that this contest is only symptomatic, and that any discussion about this that ignores the larger picture of the systematic sexploitation, objectification of Black women is basically an incomplete discussion,” says Sis Tricey. She equates Juicy J to someone who is “embracing that cooning buck,” a brother who will promote “the exploitation of himself, his sisters and brothers” for money.

“You can think of the situation…when the 12-year-old sits up and tells his math teacher, ‘I make more in a day then you make in a whole year,” she concludes.
Wiz Khalifa is a fan of Three Six Mafia. The rapper worked with Juicy J and signed him to Taylor Gang Records. The rapper even named Juicy J as the godfather of his son. He and model Amber Rose welcomed a child this year.
And apparently, the scholarship is only the beginning; a CD is set to follow.

“Is this going to be a trend?” Sis Tricey suggests adding a truly frightening scenario. “Are we going to have more rappers throwing in and saying ‘hey, we’re doing some positive things for the school.’ How many sisters will even want to continue to go to school once they get a taste of that.”

Abeena Afreeka states, ”As women, for starters, I believe it is imperative for us to come out in strong opposition to the CD, to the message, and begin to actively get in the ears of our young sisteren.” She invites not only women, but men as well, to join in with this support against the degradation of Black women; by boycotting the Juicy J CD and the message behind it.

The freedom of speech again comes into play. Remember we're living in the post Sandra Fluke era.

Many entertainers are getting the finger wagging too. Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Lil' Wayne, The Game and 50 Cent are examples of entertainers who lost their deals after saying or doing things that caused women's groups to boycott the companies.

Conservative agitators aren't spared the wrath either.

Remember that King Hippo (Rush Limbaugh) called the activist a "slut" and drew ire of women's groups. His antics lead to a lost of sponsors and a strain in his relationship with Clear Channel and Cumulus Radio.

We can expect that Juicy J will be the talk of conservative agitators in the coming days. After all, if shit is posted on the wall, then it's the turd flippers who ready to rally.

Well anyways, the rapper has a lot to celebrate. He's a veteran in the hip-hop game and yes it's a big comeback. He's a part of the pop culture.

Three Six Mafia (Juicy J, DJ Paul and Lord Infamous) won an Oscar for their contributions to Hustle & Flow.
I most recognized him as a member of the Three 6 Mafia. He and DJ Paul were childhood friends and would later form the group. Formed in 1991 as the Backyard Posse and then Triple 6 Maifa, DJ Paul, Lord Infamous, Juicy J and Koopsta Knicca, the group later included two more members including; Crunchy Black and Gangsta Boo (who were both added shortly before the release of their debut album Mystic Stylez).

The group has also collaborated with many rappers on their own label; Hypnotize Minds, where they have kick started the careers for many Memphis rappers, such as; Frayser Boy, Gangsta Blac, Lil Wyte and Indo G. The group frequently collaborates with Project Pat (Juicy J's older brother).

Their musical style—which initially featured dark, menacing beats with equally gritty lyrics—has since moved to a more mainstream sound (crunk).

The group has also had numerous lineup changes, and now consists of original members Juicy J and DJ Paul. Nonetheless, they have cultivated a sizable and diverse cult following that has only increased since their Oscar win. They have released two RIAA rated platinum albums; When the Smoke Clears: Sixty 6, Sixty 1 and Most Known Unknown, the latter featured their well known single "Stay Fly", which is said to be the kick start of their rise to fame and the mainstream. The group's worldwide album sales stand at 5.5 million.

Although they're still a group, Juicy J wanted to venture past the Mafia.

While on tour he signed on as a solo artist to Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records and Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records. After the signing, he announced that he's working on an album. The album is Juicy J's first solo album since distancing himself from Three 6 Mafia and signing to Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records, who makes three appearances on the album.

He released Bandz a Make Her Dance. It was produced by Mike Will (Made It) and it featured Lil' Wayne and 2 Chainz. The single was a smash hit and it went platinum.

That single welcome the world to Juicy J.

Juicy J's album the highly anticipated Stay Trippy is now out. It's a comeback album release. It's the third album released by the rapper. But it's his first album to get such huge buzz this summer. It was ranked very favorable and is one the most anticipated albums of the year.

Again, hip-hop music sales are declining. In order for entertainers in the music industry to stay relevant, they release EPs and mixtapes. That helps them generate buzz for their albums and helps move them into the mainstream (pop culture).

Did you know that Three 6 Mafia won an Academy Award?

Their 2005 song "It's Hard Out Here for a Pimp" from the film Hustle and Flow won Best Original Song at the 78th Academy Awards.

They join Eminem as the only rap performers who managed to score an Academy Award win for Best Original Song.

Wiz Khalifa is signed to Atlantic Records. He is affiliated with Taylor Gang Records and Rostrum Records.

Juicy J is signed Sony Music Group. He is affiliated with Taylor Gang Records and Hypnotized Minds, LLC.

LovelyTi2002 elaborates on the controversy and also the Bounce It video from Juicy J.

Marco Rubio: I Listen To Lil' Wayne Too! However, He's No 'Pac!

Florida senator Marco Rubio weighs in on hip-hop music.
Senator Marco Rubio is floated as a potential candidate for the Republican nomination for president. In order to appeal to Blacks and Hispanics, the Florida senator will talk like the Hip-Hop Republican.

Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) is a big fan of hip-hop music. He likes rappers Tupac Shakur, Lil' Wayne, Big Daddy Kane and Jay-Z.

Uncle Luke (Luther Campbell) and the 2 Live Crew, Rick Ross, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Trick Daddy, Trina, and numerous rappers built up the Miami rap scene.

Rubio grew up on hip-hop!

File:Lil Wayne in Concert.jpgAs a hip-hop fan, the senator weighs in on the potential run for president and a magazine's declaration of Lil' Wayne being "bigger than Tupac Shakur!"

Lil' Wayne, a veteran of hip-hop at age 30. Been with New Orleans based rap label Cash Money Records since he was 11 years old, the rapper managed to release his first album when he was 16.

Lil' Wayne is the most sought after rapper right now!  Lil' Wayne passed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 109 songs.

The Block Is Hot was the commercial debut of the rapper. He gain notoriety as the closing hook on former Cash Money rapper Juvenile's Back That Azz Up.

The rapper collaborated with legendary rappers such as Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, Wyclef Jean, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Busta Rhymes.

To make the point, Lil' Wayne is a dedicated rapper. The highly anticipated I Am Not A Human Being II will be released soon and many music writers have declared the rapper is bigger than Tupac Shakur.

The rapper once claimed that "he's the best rapper alive!"

Senator Rubio makes the point that "There is only one Tupac."

"It's a different time," said the senator. "These guys have some message in what they're saying, but I think they're largely entertainers. I think Tupac was more someone who was trying to inform us about what was going on, and he did it through entertainment. So it's just a different time. They're all good, though."

Now we seen this act all before!

Whenever there's "self-proclaimed" King of Rap, the title doesn't usually last long!

We seen the feud between Tupac and Biggie. We seen Jay-Z and Nas. We seen 50 Cent and Ja Rule.

Each of these feuds were legendary. They've made impact on the state of hip-hop.

Jay-Z, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Tupac Shakur, Notorious B.I.G. and Will Smith are the only entertainers who have longstanding name recognition.

Lil' Wayne, 50 Cent, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Future, Drake, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, and 2 Chainz are the most commercial rappers with the longest streak of collaborations. They have name recognition but nothing longstanding in my opinion.

TMZ catches up with the senator and asked him about Lil' Wayne being compared to Tupac Shakur.

Lil' Wayne appears under Cash Money Records.

The Onion Peels Back Attack On Quvenzhané Wallis!

La Reyna mentioned this yesterday. It seems that the talk of the entertainment industry is a parody website having the nerve to label a young actress a dirty word. Of course the conservative media is upset that the First Lady of The United States was invited to present the nominees at the Academy Awards.

The Onion didn't think a simple tweet on Twitter would result in a major controversy.

Quvenzhané Wallis is a 9-year old actress. She made history as one of the youngest actresses to ever be nominated for an Academy Award. Wallis starred in the drama Beasts of the Southern Wild.

The award went to Jennifer Lawrence, a 22-year old actress who was featured in Silver Lining Playbook.

The young actress is gearing up for a role in the remake of hit musical Annie. She will play the star role.

Will Smith, his wife Jada Pickett-Smith and Jay-Z will be directing and producing the movie.

The Onion is an American news satire organization. It is an entertainment newspaper and a website featuring satirical articles reporting on international, national, and local news, in addition to a non-satirical entertainment section known as The A.V. Club. It claims a national print circulation of 200,000 and says 90 percent of its web site readers are between 18 and 44 years old.

Since 2007, the organization publishes satirical news audio and video online, as the "Onion News Network". Web traffic on theonion.com amounts to average of 7.5 million unique visitors per month.

Now The Onion has a social networking website through Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.

Twitter is growing and so is the idiocy online.

One of the posters for the Twitter feed had the nerve to call Quvenzhané Wallis.....a cunt.

A nine year old girl, who is African American a cunt.

Wonderful, how many other actresses were The Onion calling a cunt on Twitter?

None. Just Quvenzhané Wallis.

It lit up the internet and had people demand that The Onion made a public apology to the actress.

After three days, it came and it wasn't that cordial. The New York Times gets the transcript of a Facebook posting by The Onion's CEO Steve Hannah.

“On behalf of The Onion, I offer my personal apology to Quvenzhané Wallis and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the tweet that was circulated last night during the Oscars.

“It was crude and offensive [and] not to mention inconsistent with The Onion’s commitment to parody and satire, however biting.”

“No person should be subjected to such a senseless, humorless comment masquerading as satire. The tweet was taken down within an hour of publication. We have instituted new and tighter Twitter procedures to ensure that this kind of mistake does not occur again. In addition, we are taking immediate steps to discipline those individuals responsible. Miss Wallis, you are young and talented and deserve better. All of us at The Onion are deeply sorry.”

Conservatives and white supremacists were upset over Jamie Foxx and Samuel L. Jackson's movie Django Unchained. They could stomach a Black bounty hunter killing his slave master.

Conservatives and white supremacists were upset over Monique winning an Oscar for her role in Precious.

Conservatives and white supremacists couldn't stand First Lady Michelle Obama making an appearance at the Oscars.

Now a parody website makes an offensive tweet to an African American child. It was favored by hundreds of followers and supporters of this type of nonsense.

It's funny that these entertainers and the First Lady of The United States are treated with such disdain, whereas those who aren't Black are given proper respect.

In the age of Barack Obama, racism is rising!

The conservatives are more than just extreme. They're batshit crazy!

To The Onion, anyone who post online: Let this be a lesson to those who post offensive things online!

This will always come back to haunt you!

Is Muhammad Ali Gravely Ill?

Muhammad Ali

Although his family declines this, word is that the famed boxer is sick and he may eventually succumb to it!

People in the media have wonder what's going on with Muhammad Ali!

Fox News reports that Muhammad Ali's daughter dispels rumors famed boxer near death. The 71-year old was doing fine and he's spending time with his family according to May May Ali, one the boxer's daughters.

May May Ali said she talked to her father Sunday morning on the phone and he was fine. She said he was watching the Super Bowl at home in Arizona, wearing a Baltimore Ravens jersey.

"He's fine, in fact he was talking well this morning," she said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "These rumors pop up every once in a while but there's nothing to them."

The family later posted a photo on Twitter of Ali sitting in a chair wearing a Ray Lewis T-shirt.

The rumors were started by a report in a British tabloid quoting Ali's brother, Rahman, as saying the former heavyweight champion was near death. Rahman, though, said he hadn't seen his brother since last summer and had no contact with the family.

The report was widely repeated on the Internet, drawing expressions of condolences on Twitter and Facebook.

Ali suffers from Parkinson's disease. He celebrated his 71st birthday last month.

Ali was born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., January 17, 1942. Ali is an American former professional boxer, philanthropist and social activist. Considered a cultural icon, Ali has both been idolized and vilified.

Originally known as Cassius Clay, at the age of 22 he won the world heavyweight championship from Sonny Liston. Ali changed his name after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964, subsequently converting to Sunni Islam in 1975. In 1967, three years after Ali had won the heavyweight championship, he was publicly vilified for his refusal to be conscripted into the U.S. military, based on his religious beliefs and opposition to the Vietnam War.

Ali was eventually arrested and found guilty on draft evasion charges; he was stripped of his boxing title, and his boxing license was suspended. He was not imprisoned, but did not fight again for nearly four years while his appeal worked its way up to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it was eventually successful.

Ali would go on to become the first and only three-time lineal World Heavyweight Champion.

Nicknamed "The Greatest", Ali was involved in several historic boxing matches.

KO the rumors, Muhammad Ali is fine says family!
Notable among these were three with rival Joe Frazier, which are considered among the greatest in boxing history, and one with George Foreman, where he finally regained his stripped titles seven years later. Ali was well known for his unorthodox fighting style, epitomized by his catchphrase "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee", and employing techniques such as the Ali Shuffle and the rope-a-dope.

Ali brought beauty and grace to the most uncompromising of sports and through the wonderful excesses of skill and character, he became the most famous athlete in the world.

He was also known for his pre-match hype, where he would "trash talk" opponents, often with rhymes.

In 1999, Ali was crowned "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated and "Sports Personality of the Century" by the BBC.

The release of Men In Black III will be a test of Will Smith, the 43 year old actor and former rapper.

The sequel will include Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin who will aid Smith in the movie.

The movie follows Agent J (Smith) into the past to prevent Agent K (Jones/Brolin) from being killed by a time traveling alien assassin.

The superhero action movie is a work that was ten years in the making.

The movie release is going to be big.

It's going to compete against Marvel Comics/Disney's blockbuster The Avengers. The Avengers surpassed the $1 billion mark in movie sales. The Avengers has featured actors Robert Downey, Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and actress Scarlett Johansson.

The other superhero action movie Battleship was considered a major flop. It included Liam Neeson and pop singer Rihanna.

Will Smith gets an unwelcomed advance from a Ukrainian comedian who made it his goal to agitate movie stars on the red carpet.

In Moscow, with wife Jada Pickett-Smith, the actor was visibly upset with the comedian after he tried to lip-lock him. The actor back hand slapped the comedian and tried to ease the crowd by saying that it was a move that could have had the guy decked.

Will Smith is a supporter of President Barack Obama and doesn't mind having his taxes raised. This comment made the conservative agitators go crazy.
