| Hardee's/Red Burrito in Lake City, Florida. Soon to be closed. |
Hardeee's/Carl's Jr. operate separately but share the same menu. The franchises are struggling due to President Donald J. Trump's tariffs and people avoiding fast food all together.
A burger cost nearly $9. A meal itself cost damn near $15.
Make America Great Again.
Here in Dayton, Ohio there are four locations in the area. The Beaverceek location is permanently closed despite its repeated attempts at reopening after a series of fires.
The location in Harrison Township is barely open. It has struggled and now closes at 5pm.
The Dayton south location still operates as normal but low consumer traffic.
The Hardee's inside the Love's Travel Plaza may be the only Dayton location come 2026.
The last location is located inside a BP Travel Station in the rural suburb of Brookville.
Dozens of Hardee’s locations are set to close across the United States after one of its largest franchisees allegedly failed to keep up to date with its payments.
ARC Burger, operated by High Bluff Capital Partners, is currently being sued by Hardee’s over missed franchisee payments and other contract obligations with the company, according to court documents obtained by USA TODAY. Following that lawsuit, which was filed last month, ARC Burger decided to close the Hardee’s locations it owned.
In an emailed statement to USA TODAY, Hardee’s Restaurants confirmed the closure of all the franchised restaurants.
Ah, capitalism and these damn private equity companies destroying legendary brands.
“These closures are a result of ARC Burger’s failure to cure its defaults under its franchise agreements, despite solid sales and our continued attempts over the course of many months to reach a resolution that would keep these restaurants open,” Hardee’s said.
The lawsuit said that ARC Burger owns Hardee’s 77 locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina and Wyoming.
Private equity is destroying everything. Most companies that are on the brink of collapse are examples of these entities intentionally piling on debt and pushing for cost cutting.
In reality, folks suffer when corporations put profit over people.
Trump's refusal to taken the affordability crisis has led to these catastrophes.
