As an underdog, former congresswoman Cori Bush must convince her former constituents she will not be a distraction.
I am all for the removal of ineffective lawmakers.
End the status quo of American politics. Enough of the noise. Enough of the dehumanizing of people. Enough of the "Us versus Them" bullshit.
Focus on the domestic issues in the 50 states and five territories.
I don't care about the culture wars and partisan banter. I don't my taxpayer money funding border walls, Israel or lawmakers' travel expenses.
Rep. Wesley Bell (D-MO) is an example. He failed as a St. Louis County Prosecutor and now he is failing as a U.S. Representative.
Cori Bush, former U.S. Representative and Zeteo host had declared her bid to retake the seat.
She is going to compare Bell to the ineffective lawmakers of the past. She is going to claim his coziness to Israel and Republicans makes him an ineffective member.
Bush is going treat him as a kingdom and she is coming to take it down.
Bush released the following statement announcing her campaign:
“Right now, we are in the fight of our lives. It isn’t politics as usual, and we can’t afford to operate as such. This is about survival for our families, and the moment is now,” Bush said. “I’m running because Missouri’s First deserves leadership that’s built different. A leader who doesn’t just navigate a broken system, but works to build a better one. A leader who shows up when it’s hardest, who fights for all people, who unifies us with courage, resilience, and love. A leader rooted in the community, lifting the voices too often dismissed, and proving what’s possible when you fight for everyone. That’s who I’ve always been — ten toes down for this district.”
Bush served two terms as a U.S. Representative. At first, she was seen as a grandstanding politician. I have made several criticism of her when she stood on the steps of the U.S. Capitol demanding the rent pauses during the pandemic.
At the time, I did not realize that the grandstanding was actually a serious campaign. When she was on camera saying "defund the police" it shock the Democratic Party. They are scared it might turn off white voters.
At this point, I don't care about white voters. They can rock with President Donald J. Trump and Republicans regardless of party affiliation. They proved it in 2016, 2020 and 2024. They are moving towards conservatism despite Republicans destroying everything and their votes are seriously affecting themselves.
When I was working at my previous job, I didn't fear losing my home. Now working at my current employer, I am constantly worrying about expenses and fear I won't be able to purchase a home or have an actual vacation.
There are no signs of rent freezes and inflation has constantly been a drag on millions of middle class Americans.
Bell has proven to not care about this. The deadly tornado that killed 10 in St. Louis was not a big issue for Trump or Republican Missouri governor Mike Kehoe.
Bell, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Rep. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) have gotten federal assistance to help rebuild areas hit by the tornado. The public sees it as a photo-op.
Bell's trips to Israel have also become a topic.
Bush made history as the first African-American woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri after defeating longtime Congressman Lacy Clay in 2020.
A rematch between Bush and Bell is anticipated in next year’s midterm election. In 2024, Bush lost to Bell by about 6,800 votes.
A spokesperson for Bell released the following statement:

In Congress, he is fighting every day to lower the cost of living, protect health care, continue investing in the St. Louis region, and fight for our democracy. The people of this district fired Cori Bush because of her absence in the district and her failure to stand up for the Democratic agenda, not to mention the personal and legal troubles that continue to plague her. Congressman Bell is focused on making life better for his constituents, and that’s the case he’ll continue making on the campaign trail.”
If you're seeing this, you realize you're too late.
This will be a bruising primary.
Russia, China and Iran are not meddling in the U.S. elections. It is one country and it's been like this for years.
Israel once again interfered in U.S. elections and it comes as no surprise that foreign operatives from AIPAC and Democratic Majority for Israel have made a jackass like Wesley Bell win.
It also is smack to the face for the supporters who wanted police reform and an end to genocide in Gaza.
I am so frustrated with the Democrats siding with the apartheid ethnostate of Israel.
Bell and Rep. George Latimer (D-NY) are disgraceful and I hope they taste karma.
I am disappointed in Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH), Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-OH), Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA), Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Rep. Lucy McBath (D-GA), Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) and Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY).
They can't claim to be progressive if they're on their knees giving in to Israel and its minions.
Israel is a direct threat to the world.

Let them know that "thoughts and prayers," "hearts going to" and "good guys with guns" are no longer acceptable and you want legislation to curb gun violence. Let them know that we are tired of police officers using immunity when committing death of suspects in custody. Let them know that a government shutdown is unacceptable and you want your federal government to work like you. Let them know that deporting law abiding immigrants seeking refuge is inhumane. You want our American military out of out of our cities, the Middle East and every fucking international conflict in the world. You want legislation to focus on lowering the cost of rent, lowering the cost of food, lowering the cost of hospital visits, improving healthcare coverage and building relationships with other nations. Let them know that pulling out of the UN Human Rights Organization, World Health Organization and Paris Climate Accords will put the U.S. in danger when catastrophic event happen. Let them know that you are tired of private equity firms getting away with destroying small businesses and long established companies. Let them know that you are tired of your taxpayer money going to foreign nations like Israel and Ukraine. You are tired of hearing about "Israel having a right to..." and the bogus claims of being anti-semitic or in support of terrorism.
We have bigger issues at home and our tax dollars should solve the housing crisis, lowering food prices, fixing roads, bridges, helping reinvest in struggling urban and rural communities. We have hospitals closing, big box retailers leaving communities and television programs dying. There are bigger issues in the country than Israel. You want an immediate ceasefire, a weapons embargo, sanctions and accountability for war crimes done by Israel. You want no more domestic or foreign influence in American elections. You also want to make sure future presidents and lawmakers avoid influence from lobbyists and special interest groups.
