The Bum Rap!

Clout chasing idiot rapper busted for robbery in Cincinnati.

Okay, this man is giving Black people a bum rap. Literally he is displaying the same type of stupidity of an aggravated robbery suspect in Colorado being caught on camera in plain sight.

More on that later.

A Cincinnati man who moved from Akron was interviewed by the local junk food media was arrested for armed robbery in five communities. He was literally on camera telling the public to be careful. Like being careful of him.

The arrogance of this suspect. He rode on a mini motorcycle directly to a reporter and cameraman to openly talk about a robbery he committed in the neighborhood of Oakley.

He did not confess to the robbery, but he gave a long winded rant about how Oakley "ain't the hood."

The Cincinnati Police and Hamilton County Sheriffs Department confirmed this idiot was involved in more than a handful of robberies and attempted robberies. He also has a weapons under disability conviction. That means he could head to the iron college for 15 years alone.

Before the man was caught by police, he was interviewed on camera by WLWT News 5 reporter Sean MacKinnon.

Imagine being that bold to appear on TV after committing a crime. That is some real clout chasing material.

The suspect, 27-year-old Tyriq Grays, is connected to multiple robberies. He was arrested on Sept. 29 for allegedly holding a gun to a woman's head in Greenhills.

Just weeks before, he talked with us in Oakley, on camera, about robberies the prosecutor’s office says he's now charged with.

"(Expletive) crazy. You would never expect it over here, though," Grays said. "It's like, it's not the hood."

Grays said the night of the crime, he saw Cincinnati police and talked with an officer.

"He just told me be careful, because somebody out here trying to rob somebody," Grays said.

But investigators say that “somebody” was him. And he'd done it before.

"Last week, this is the same guy who ran towards the railroad tracks," Cincinnati police said over radio on Sept. 13. "Six-one and thin build. Was wearing a hoodie and a face mask, all black clothing."

Grays is now indicted in Hamilton County on eight felony counts. He's accused of using a gun to rob at least four victims. He's also charged with having a gun illegally. Court documents show he was convicted in another armed robbery case in 2017 in Cleveland.

"Like I got robbed before you feel me, just I don't like that feeling you feel. And I got smacked with the gun, and I ain't got time to go through that again. So, that's why I moved from Akron because I feel like coming down here in this area, it'll be a better start with my girl," Grays said.

Greenhills police say on Sept. 18, Grays held a gun to a 28-year-old woman's head as she got out of her car.

That was just two days before WLWT spoke with him about the Oakley robberies.

"Like that's the reason my girl moved over here, because the crime rate was nothing over here, none of that," Grays said. "I don't even come outside around nighttime. I'm 10:00, that’s my bedtime."

Since Grays was arrested, he was held on a $100,000 bond. His next court date in Hamilton County is scheduled for Thursday morning.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Okay, last month a news crew in Colorado spotted a man who was wanted for a string of home invasions and robberies. They spotted him walking in a Love's Truck Stop.

Richard Applequist was wanted in connection with multiple armed burglaries in the Idaho Springs area. He had crashed a car and escaped on foot into the woods the night before.

Robbery suspect hides in the woods. After he tried to take a shower at Love's, a news crew spotted him. He was arrested soon after.

He is being held in the Clear Creek County Jail on the charges of first degree burglary, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, eluding, impersonating a peace officer, theft, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, and third degree burglary.

According to a press release from the Clear Creek Sheriff’s Office, before the arrest, metro media outlets had come to Idaho Springs to report on the search for Applequist. The media noticed someone who matched Applequist’s description while reporting and recording with cameras at the intersection of Idaho Street and 13th Avenue. He had walked across the I-70 bridge from Highway 103, walking by news cameras through the intersection of Idaho Street and 13th Avenue.

Police responded quickly after two news stations called 911. The police arrested Applequist in the 2000 block of Miner Street.
