Conservative Outrage Over GQ Nomination Of Colin Kaepernick!

Kap takes the cover. GQ Magazine gives Colin Kaepernick an opportunity to set the record straight when it comes to injustice.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity. The revisionist history of civil rights is often discussed by right wing agitators. They often assume the Republican party and conservatism was responsible for civil rights.

Far from the truth. The Republican Party was then the progressives and the Democrats were the conservatives. The Democratic Party of yesterday was fully in support of legal seperation dubbed Jim Crow laws.

The South was always known for its conservative, Bible thumping and education lacking Americans. It's hasn't changed. The parties did.

The Democrats would adopt the progressive policies of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The New Deal called for openness to minorities, a better economy and a strong military. The Democrats were still racist. They were openly supportive of punishing Germans, Italians, Japanese immigrants fleeing war.

The Democratic Party splintered when Harry Thurman took over. Then southern Democrat Strom Thurmond vowed to take his country back by aligning himself with religious zealots and the Klan. That bore the Dixiecrats and the last bastards the Yellow Dog Democrats.

The Republican Party started to sway conservatives who the Red Scare. The days of Joe McCarthy spurred Barry Goldwater, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.

These Republicans gradually steered whites away from the Democratic Party and used coded rhetoric to win voters who believe Blacks and non-Whits were stealing from hard working Whites.

The right for civil rights was a movie. It was real life and people died.

The movement has been rewritten to make it sound like the battle was won.

He'll no. We still have a long way to go.

We had Barack Obama as the first African American to become our president.

And with eight years of his leadership, racism surged. It was sparked by whsiper campaigns by conservatives. The racial profiling and police shootings of unarmed Black people. The entertainment industry deliberately shutting out Black talent in movies, television, magazines and radio.

I can't explain all the factors but I assure you that race relations are worse.

With Donald J. Trump in office, it's opened the door to racism. People are now freely expressing their outrage towards Blacks.

They are upset when we stand up for our rights.

They are upset when we stand down when our rights matter.

The "take a knee" protest was sparked by Colin Kaepernick. He wanted to protest the systematic racism plaguing the police. He was fed up with unarmed Black people being shot by cops. He was upset that grand juries and the media often contribute to cops walking from convictions.
A heart of gold.
So he took a knee. The San Francisco 49ers get attention and Kaepernick rose to fame. Of course not all are supportive of his protest.

Cue the conservative outrage.

GQ Magazine nominated Kaepernick as the Citizen of the Year and the conservatives are livid over it.

Many say that Kaepernick supports cop killers. They say he disses the military. They say he disrespects American flag and veterans. They say he doesn't contribute to the Black community. Some are saying his adoptive parents are White.

The recipe for Trump to lash out.

In Alabama, Trump said that NFL players should be fired for not standing for the national anthem. It sparked a backlash and NFL players soon started taking a knee.

The ratings went downhill for the NFL. Many on the left believe Kaepernick is being shunned by the NFL. Many on the right believe the NFL is not controlling the situation and restoring order. They believe it's not worth the money or viewership to see players protesting.

No win for the NFL.

History is on Kaepernick's side. He sparked a movement that was never easy. He took sacrifices to achieve the allies needed to fight against injustice.

That's why Black Lives Matter. We are fighting for our lives.

Kaepernick refuses to be silenced by the noise. He said that he's got a purpose and the world will hear it.
