Lost Pounds, Bawse!

Rapper Rick Ross slims down.

Rick Ross is the CEO of Maybach Music Group and the primary force that keeps that label Def Jam running. While Jeezy, Juelz Santana, Fabolous, Ludacris, and Nas are looking for the exit, Ross continues to stand firm with the label that made him a bawse.

Def Jam veteran acts are frustrated with the label delaying their albums. Jeezy is the most notable act to vent about the label's troubles.

William Roberts II (aka Rick Ross/Teflon Don/Rozay) was fearing more than the Gangster Disciples, he was fearing diabetes. The rapper weight nearly 360 lbs on a good day. Now pictures emerge of the rapper weigh down a little.

In May, Ross, appearing shirtless, talked about his weight loss in an on-camera interview with British DJ Tim Westwood.

"You know, I ain't really keeping up on, you know, the amount, you know, of weight," he said. "I just, I just wanted to, you know, get in some better shape, you know what I'm saying, put myself in a better position.

So I just, I still eat the way I want to eat...I just go to the gym. I do this s--t called, uh, CrossFit. I call it 'RossFit.' Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's called 'RossFit' now."

Ross said that via Reebok, he had obtained a trainer who introduced him to the method, which has been touted by the likes of auto racing star Danica Patrick and Bob Harper of The Biggest Loser.

"Let's say, for instance, if you got on a treadmill and you did that s--t for 30 minutes, yeah you're burning calories but you could be doing something that's burning calories and building muscle at the same time. So it's like, you're working out a shorter time. I could go out and do some s--t for 20 minutes and you could be looking like this, you heard me?" he said, looking at the camera and flexing his bicep and later, his pecs.

"You know, the most I used to do for exercise was stand up to count the money, you know what I'm saying?" he joked. "But now, they, they, you know, they give me fruit to eat. I forgot what fruit, you know, tasted like. I eat pears now and s--t like that."
Rick Ross appears after losing 100 lbs.
People wouldn't even recognize him without those tattoos and gold chains and the 5 inches long beard.

I guess Reebok decided to rehire him back as a pitchman after the U.O.E.N.O. scandal.

As a rapper, he is signed to Def Jam through a joint venture of Sean "Puffy" Combs' Ciroc Entertainment and Slip-N-Slide Records. He is the founder and CEO of Maybach Music Group.

The label is disturbed through Atlantic Records. Although Rozay, Gunplay appear on Def Jam, Wale, Meek Mill and Stalley appear on Atlantic. French Montana appears on the label with joint venture through Bad Boy Records and Interscope.

Well wishes to the rapper on his road to recovery.

You Can't Be That Nice!

Young woman's good deed lands her in the courtroom and soon the iron college.

A woman may face life in the iron college. You know why?

Because she had to stop for a few ducks on the roadway.

Over in Montreal, a woman faces life after she was found guilty of stopping on the highway to help a family of ducks. Unaware that her vehicle was in the lane of a motorcycle rider and his daughter. The motorcycle riders crashed into the back of her vehicle and was thrown off.

The Associated Press reports that Emma Czornobaj was convicted by a jury on two counts of criminal negligence causing death, a charge that carries a maximum life sentence, and two counts of dangerous driving causing death, which comes with a maximum of 14 years in jail.
Ducks crossing the roadway. Often people try to help them and risk killing themselves or the animals they try to help.
The 25-year-old was charged in the deaths of Andre Roy, 50, and his daughter Jessie, 16.

She wiped away tears when the verdict was delivered to a packed courtroom in Montreal. Quebec Superior Court Justice Eliane Perreault said the 12-member jury voted unanimously.

Czornobaj was released until her pre-sentence hearing on Aug. 8.

Roy's motorcycle slammed into Czornobaj's car, which was stopped in the left lane of a provincial highway south of Montreal in 2010.

Andre and Jessie Roy
Czornobaj, a self-professed animal lover, told the court that she did not see the ducklings' mother anywhere and planned to capture them and take them home.

Defense lawyer Marc Labelle said his client was stunned by the jury's decision.

"The fact that she was involved in the accident in the first place was a hard experience for her," he said. "The fact that she had to go through a trial with a lot of publicity was tough and to be confirmed by 12 citizens, the jury, that the conduct was criminal is a hard blow."

Pauline Volikakis, whose husband and daughter were killed in the collision, briefly fought back tears when she left the courtroom.

"I don't wish misfortune on anyone," Volikakis said. "It's time that we go on. This will not bring (back) my loved ones."

Prosecutor Annie-Claude Chasse had a message for motorists.

"What we hope is that a clear message is sent to society that we do not stop on the highway for animals. It's not worth it."

We here at Journal de la Reyna send our condolences to the family of Andre and Jessie Roy.

The Mugshot Of The "Handsome Thug" Goes Viral!

Arrestee's 'handsome' mug shot goes viral
Smile for the cameras. A man in the county lockup won praise for being the most handsome mugshot ever!

It's Friday and I am guessing that no good news is bad news. The country is going nuts over some guy who had the perfect mugshot.

While in the California country lockup, Jeremy Meeks got over 33,000 "likes" on the social networks.

Meeks, a 30 year old felon was booked for weapons charges. While it was posted by the Stockton police department,  the mugshot gains positive feedback. No previous arrest photo has garnered so much positive attention since the department set up the Facebook page in March 2012, says Joseph Silva a spokesman for Stockton police.

The Associated Press reports that Meeks got praise for his high cheek bones, chiseled face and striking blue eyes.

"I have not seen that many likes for a photo before," he said.

By late Thursday, Meeks' arrest photo had garnered more than 33,000 "likes," and 10,400 comments, and had been shared more than 3,300 times.

"Wow. That is one good looking mug shot!" one person wrote.

"Momma, I'm in love with a criminal," another joked.

Some online commentators even said Meeks looked like he belonged in an Abercrombie & Fitch ad or on the show "America's Next Top Model."

Still others were disapproving, such as one observer who said, "He may be a tad bit cute, but with six felonies, he ain't that cute."

Meeks was one of four men taken into custody during Operation Ceasefire, a multiagency mission to curb a recent increase in shootings and robberies in the Weston Ranch area of Stockton, a Northern California city of about 300,000 nestled amid the network of waterways that form the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.

Four firearms were confiscated during a sweep Wednesday involving the Stockton police gang unit, the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Task Force and other agencies.

Silva called Meeks "one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area," though he declined to provide any details on the crimes that Meeks is believed to have been involved in.

Meeks, who is being held in lieu of $900,000 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.

Silva did not know whether he had retained a lawyer.

Salma Yaqoob confronts Iain Duncan Smith

George Will Is Dropped From The St. Louis Post-Dispatch!

He's on the slow march to destruction. One major newspaper dropped the loser. Hopefully more will come.

The controversial Loserville panelist got dumped by a longtime syndication. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has finally gotten the message, George Will's ignorant comments about campus rape has finally gotten some attention.

This is the beginning of the end for Mr. Will. He can take his "rape is funny" to the folks over at Loserville Nation.

Will wrote a column claiming that being a rape victim is now a “coveted status” that college women seek out.

Will argued that complaints of rape and sexual assualt on college campus were overblown. He also suggested that women claiming to be raped were “delusional.”

Will’s column is syndicated in newspapers across the country by the Washington Post, which bills him as “the most influential writer in America.” The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which has published Will’s column for a number of years, has had enough. In a message today to readers, the paper announced they were dropping Will from their paper and apologized for running his column on sexual assault:

The change has been under consideration for several months, but a column published June 5, in which Mr. Will suggested that sexual assault victims on college campuses enjoy a privileged status, made the decision easier. The column was offensive and inaccurate; we apologize for publishing it.

Will will be replaced in the Post-Dispatch by another Washington Post columnist, Michael Gerson.

Think Progress reports this controversy is starting to sprout legs. Hopefully it leads to a massive dump on him.

Yeah, you're entitled to the freedom of speech. It doesn't mean that you're speech can be in the nation's newspapers.

For the ignorant: RAPE IS RAPE. There's nothing funny or entertaining about it. It's a criminal act and you could spend your life in the iron college.
