Puerto Rico Back In The Dark!

San Juan, Puerto Rico in the dark again.

If you live in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa, do you think America is great?

Cause you have no opportunity to vote for president. You may be mistaken as an foreign national. You don't have equal representation thanks to a racist law on the books called the

President Donald J. Trump wants Greenland. He wants to get rid of the floating island of garbage that awful comedian Tony Hinchcliffe joked.

The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico known as the Free Associated State of Puerto Rico (Estado Libre Asociado de Puerto Rico).

Puerto Rico is a self-governing Caribbean archipelago and island organized as an unincorporated territory of the United States under the designation of commonwealth. Located about 1,000 miles (1,600 km) southeast of Miami, Florida between the Dominican Republic in the Greater Antilles and the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Lesser Antilles, it consists of the eponymous main island and numerous smaller islands, including Vieques, Culebra, and Mona. With approximately 3.2 million residents, it is divided into 78 municipalities, of which the most populous is the capital municipality of San Juan, followed by those within the San Juan metropolitan area. Spanish and English are the official languages of the government, though Spanish predominates.

Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Gov. Jenniffer González Colón, resident commissioner Rep. Pablo Hernández Rivera (D-PR), Department of Transportation Sean Duffy, Department of Energy Chris Wright and Department of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. were notified.

An island-wide blackout hit Puerto Rico on Wednesday as the largely Catholic residents of the U.S. territory prepared to celebrate the Easter weekend, officials said.

All 1.4 million clients on the island were without power, Hugo Sorrentini, spokesman for Luma Energy, which oversees the transmission and distribution of power, told The Associated Press. “The entire island is without generation,” he said.

Hotels were at near-capacity, with thousands of tourists celebrating Easter vacations on the island. Tourism officials rushed to reassure them, saying that many hotels and other businesses were operating with generators.

Meanwhile, at least 78,000 clients were without water, with officials warning that power likely won’t be fully restored for another 48 to 72 hours.

“This is unacceptable,” said Josué Colón, the island’s so-called energy czar and former executive director of Puerto Rico’s Electric Power Authority.

It was not immediately clear what caused the shutdown, the latest in a string of major blackouts on the island in recent years. Gov. Jenniffer González, who was traveling, said officials were “working diligently” to address the outage.

Notice that Republicans ain't screaming outrage at the governor. Earlier this year, Republicans were screaming bloody murder over the Los Angeles wildfires. The mayor, Karen Bass was vilified and there's calls for a recall election.

Thousands of Puerto Ricans were fuming over the latest outage, with many renewing their calls that the government cancel the contract with Luma and Genera PR, which oversees generation of power on the island.

“This is a total disaster,” said Orlando Huertas, 68, as he sipped a drink with a friend at a streetside bar and criticized the government for not doing enough to tackle the chronic outages.

Dozens of people were forced to walk next to the rails of the rapid transit system that serves the capital, San Juan, while scores of businesses including the biggest mall in the Caribbean were forced to close. Professional baseball and basketball games were cancelled as the hum of generators and smell of smoke filled the air. Traffic became snarled as police officers were deployed to busy intersections.

Reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny echoed the collective rage, writing on X: “When are we going to do something?”

By late Wednesday afternoon, some 5,000 to 7,000 clients had their power restored, although that number is expected to fluctuate. Those without generators crowded around grocery stores and other businesses to buy ice.

“I’m desperate. My generator is broken,” said Carmen Suriel, who worried about the impact of the blackout on her two children, a six-month-old and a five-year-old with Down syndrome, as the temperature rose across Puerto Rico on Wednesday.

Alma Ramírez, 69, said she was frustrated with the constant outages, some of which had already damaged her TV and microwave, forcing her to buy new appliances.

“They have to improve,” she said of the government. “Those who are affected are us, the poor.”

The island of 3.2 million residents has a more than 40% poverty rate, and not everyone can afford solar panels or generators. While there was a push to use more renewable energy sources under the administration of former U.S. President Joe Biden, which provided Puerto Rico with mega generators and other resources, experts worry that won’t happen under U.S. President Donald Trump.

Roughly 117,000 homes and businesses on the island have solar rooftops. Meanwhile, petroleum-fired power plants provide 62% of Puerto Rico’s power, natural gas 24%, coal 8% and renewables 7%, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Daniel Hernández, vice president of operations at Genera PR, said at a news conference that a disturbance hit the transmission system shortly after noon on Wednesday, during a time when the grid is vulnerable because there are not many machines regulating frequency at that hour.

Verónica Ferraiuoli, acting governor and secretary of state for Puerto Rico, said the White House reached out to local officials and said they are available if needed.

Pablo José Hernández, Puerto Rico’s representative in Congress, said he would work to ensure that “Washington understands the real and urgent situation Puerto Ricans face every day.”

“The electric grid crisis is frustrating, and after years of blackouts, it feels like it’s going from bad to worse,” he said.

The last island-wide blackout occurred on New Year’s Eve.

Puerto Rico has struggled with chronic outages since September 2017 when Hurricane Maria pummeled the island as a powerful Category 4 storm, razing a power grid that crews are still struggling to rebuild

The grid already had been deteriorating as a result of decades of a lack of maintenance and investment.

The MTG Explosive Town Hall!

Melted Cheese Greene smirks as protesters are forcibly removed.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is the most insufferable and laziest lawmaker in the U.S. Congress. She has no legislative accomplishments. Her only successes is trolling, complaining and being a colossal bitch.

Bleach Blonde Bad Built Butch Body was tagged on Greene.

Since then, she has tried to improve her figure. I mean as a woman that insult got to her. Greene almost got physical with the individual who called her that.

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is insufferable. She is the progressive version of Greene. Crockett made the viral video during a congressional hearing reacting to Greene insulting her eyelashes equating it to her intelligence.

Greene has been heckled by protesters. The lawmaker is one of 20 members to have extra protection because of credibile death threats aimed at her.

Greene is trying desperately to vet her town halls. Because in her mind, there are no Democratic voters in her district. While she wins overwhelmingly in the district she represents, there are Republicans, Democrats and no affiliated constituents who deserve access to their representatives. Greene is violating her oath of office.

Greene is also profiting from being an insufferable member. Allegedly, she made millions during the chaotic stock market downturn.

Mediaite reported on a town hall that turned into chaos. On Tuesday, a man was tased by police as supporters of the congresswoman cheered.

Greene isn't backed by AIPAC but is a supporter of Israel. She is supportive of Israel’s genocide. She supports its actions but supports only America being out of foreign engagements on behalf of Israel.

People being brutally assaulted by police is the classic training from Israelis.

Did you know American law enforcement agencies go to Israel to get training and new surveillance tactics?

They use these acts on American civilians and police unions are pushing for immunity whenever they use state violence.

At least three people were removed from the town hall after interrupting the event, including a man who had to be tased by police after he became violent.

In footage of the incident, posted by several reporters, multiple police officers could be seen struggling to restrain the man while escorting him out of the venue.

After the man became violent and lashed out against the officers, shouting, “Get the fuck off me!” two officers could be seen deploying their tasers against him as Greene’s audience cheered and applauded.

“Don’t move! Stop!” an officer could be heard shouting at the man as continued to resist arrest.

Greene then declared, “This is a peaceful town hall. Now, this is a peaceful town hall, ladies and gentlemen. This should not have to happen. This is a town hall.”

Two other protesters were also removed from the town hall by police, including a man who could be seen resisting officers and asking, “Are you really doing this?” After the man continued to resist, officers could be seen pushing the man to the floor and handcuffing him.

This is America.

“Like I said before, this isn’t a political rally or a protest. I held a town hall tonight. You know who was out of line? The protesters,” Greene told reporters after the event. “There was a place designated outside for the protesters because we support their First Amendment right. So you know who was out of line? The protesters. The police did a great job, I am very thankful.”

Greene insulted a questioner at a town hall in her district on Tuesday night.

The MAGA firebrand held the forum in Cobb County, Georgia, where she read questions on a screen. At one point, she was asked about President Donald Trump and Elon Musk taking a wrecking ball to federal agencies over the past three months via Musk’s “Department of Government” efficiency. The questioner also asked about Trump’s whiplash tariff policy.

Greene, who was briefly heckled earlier during the town hall, read the question from “Christina.”

They Threatened The Judge Who Gave Bail To Karmelo Anthony!

Republican judge ain't getting love from her own kind. The Karmelo Anthony case now has her life threatened by MAGAland. Black Republicans are you feeling great again?

Black Republicans, are you feeling America being great again?

The Texas judge who lowered the bail for teen Karmelo Anthony is getting death threats and now the Texas Rangers are providing security.

Who is willing to try one?

Those who try to snuff a person out will not post on social media. That is catnip for Kash Patel and Pam Bondi. That is enough for cosplay Kristi Noem.

If you are threatening to inflict harm on public officials, that free speech. But if you are engaged in purchasing, planning and carrying out an attack, that assures the feds to engage.

Texas Judge of the District 199, Angela Tucker is a Republican judge. She is a Black woman who is praised by Gov. Greg Abbott. She voted for President Donald J. Trump and is MAGAland.

But in this case, she is a DEI who was looking out for her kind.

Tucker is a graduate of UT Austin and Dedman School of Law at SMU. She has been licensed for 23 years and has spent her entire legal career in Collin County handling cases in the 3 areas of law heard by her court – criminal, family, and civil. Judge Tucker has served Collin County as Judge of the 199th District Court since 2012.

According to the far right tabloid, The Daily Mail, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both it and the FBI are investigating threats made against Tucker, reportedly from people upset by her decision. Some of these individuals also posted her personal information online, prompting investigators to look into potential charges for unlawful disclosure and retaliation. As a result, Tucker set her social media accounts to private shortly after the hearing, citing safety concerns.

Much of the anger has been fueled by what many are calling a racial double standard in the justice system. Critics point out that white suspects accused of serious crimes have often received lower bail, lighter sentences, or even acquittals, while Black defendants, like Anthony, are frequently treated more harshly. This latest case has brought renewed attention to disparities in how the U.S. legal system handles race and crime.

Karmelo Anthony may ask for a temporary relocation.

Anthony is accused of killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, who is white, who died in his twin brother’s arms after being stabbed in the heart during a confrontation at a Frisco track meet. According to the arrest affidavit, Metcalf told Anthony to move from another team’s tent, which escalated into a fatal altercation. Anthony reportedly reached into his bag, warned Metcalf not to touch him, and then stabbed him after being grabbed.

While Anthony’s release enraged many, others have come to his defense. Supporters have raised more than $425,000 for his legal expenses. His father said the family is now planning to move after receiving racist threats and seeing disturbing images shared online. Meanwhile, prosecutors have stated that Anthony, as a minor, will not face the death penalty or life in prison if convicted.

Anthony was described by his attorneys as a high school senior, a team captain in football and track, and a part-time employee at two local businesses. Metcalf, also a standout athlete, had aspirations of playing college football. The case continues to divide the Frisco community, with online misinformation and racial tensions inflaming an already tragic situation.

Mad Pooper Booted From Luxury Apartment!

Nasty asshole.

Last week during a pro Palestinian protest in New York City, a man threw feces and chemicals from a sixth floor of a luxury apartment.

The New York Police Department have confirmed they have a suspect and the apartment complex has immediately condemned the incident. They have announced the individual and those who were staying there are evicted.

Zionists cannot give you an honest discussion about why it's important for Israel to exist the way it is. It's always deflection, name calling, slander and in some cases assassination.

Israel is pushing the United States to censor criticism.

AIPAC and the ADL have engage with lawmakers to pass the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism. They are literally trying to deport immigrants and Americans who criticize Israel.

Let's go.

Last week, an individual in Manhattan reportedly hurled feces, trash, and liquid out of a window in the Summit Apartments complex in midtown on pro-Palestine protesters. The waste landed on demonstrators and cracked the window of an NYPD vehicle. The individual was also seen holding an Israeli flag.

They found out the person and the New York Police Department is searching for him and his accomplice.

Today, protesters held a call for justice outside the facility.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations has condemned the incident and demand the NYPD arrest those involved.

In a statement, CAIR-NY Executive Director, Afaf Nasher, Esq. said:

“We strongly condemn this abhorrent attack on pro-Palestinian protesters. This is yet another example of an attack on Palestinian solidarity amidst the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza. We call on law enforcement to investigate the incident as a possible hate crime, and we urge elected officials to publicly condemn the attack and affirm the right of their residents to peaceful assemble for political protest.”

This fool will regret his decisions.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The charges are criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

When people throw feces on people, calling for to be raped, saying that you are a terrorist or an idiot, it actually shows how Israel operates. Apparently, Israelis have done these horrible acts on Palestinians.

Issues that matter to our blog.
  • Women of color.
  • Children of color.
  • Black men being killed by law enforcement.
  • The racial-motivated campaigns against Kamala Harris, Barack and Michelle Obama.
  • Gun violence in the United States.

Karmelo Anthony Home!

Karmelo Anthony is home. The danger is still there. His family and attorney gotten death threats.

Texas teen is out after posting a hefty bail. He is on house arrest and many people are coming to his defense.

However, the white extremists are out too. They are calling for racial warfare.

These are the same people who cheered George Zimmerman, Kyle Rittenhouse, Daniel Penny, Daniel Perry and Darren Wilson.

They are fucking ridiculous.

Yet, these extremists made the case about race. The same folks who complain about DEI and innocence until proven guilty have already condemned, shamed and demanded Democrats react to this incident.

Conservatives demand Black Lives Matter, Rev. Al Sharpton, former president Barack Obama, former vice president Kamala Harris and the NAACP react to every fucking criminal act done by a Black person.

The teen is accused of murdering another teen after a physical altercation. It is national news and another racial situation the far right is exploiting.

In order to take the country away from President Donald J. Trump's colossal fuck ups, the far right needs to keep their racially angry base riled up going into 2026.

Due process is thrown out when it's a Black teen, a Black man, a Muslim, a Palestinian or a Latino.

If it's a white man, they are assumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

If they're guilty, the far right will deny it. They will claim that the George Soros appointed district attorney was bought and paid for.

The $1 million bond has been reduced for the 17-year-old student charged with murder in the stabbing of another student at a Texas high school track meet.

White people do not see this as a threat.

Karmelo Anthony, a student at Frisco Centennial High School, was detained following the deadly stabbing, which occurred at a Frisco Independent School District stadium on April 2 during a track and field championship involving multiple schools in the district.

Austin Metcalf, 17, an 11th grader at Frisco Memorial High School, died after police said another student stabbed him during an altercation in the bleachers at the meet.

Anthony was initially held on $1 million bond. During a hearing on Monday, a Collin County judge set his bond at $250,000, online court records show.

Should he post bond, he has been ordered to be on house arrest, be supervised by a parent or designated adult at all times and have no contact with Metcalf's family, according to court records. He also needs prior court approval to leave the house and must check in with the court bailiff weekly until the case is indicted into a different court, the court records show.

Judge Angela Tucker said she considered several factors in setting the new bond amount, including Anthony's age, lack of past criminal history and close ties to the community, Dallas ABC affiliate WFAA reported.

The racial extremists are swamping his social media with hate.

Members of both teens' families attended the hearing, according to WFAA.

Anthony is newly represented by Dallas defense attorney Mike Howard, who asked for $150,000 bond, according to WFAA. The prosecution argued the Anthony family was able to pay the $1 million bond through funds raised through the platform GiveSendGo, according to WFAA. The fundraiser had more than $416,000 in donations as of Monday afternoon. Anthony's father told the court the family doesn't have access to those funds yet, WFAA reported.

ABC News has reached out to Howard for comment.

The Dallas-based social justice organization Next Generation Action Network, which is advocating for Anthony, said the reduced bond "gives Karmelo and his family a much-needed window of relief and a chance to prepare for the road ahead."

"The Next Generation Action Network is currently working with the Anthony family to get the bond processed and will keep the community updated regarding his release," the organization said in a statement on X.

The stabbing occurred under the Memorial High School tent in the stadium bleachers at approximately 10 a.m. on April 2, according to the arrest report.

Responding officers said they spoke to multiple witnesses, including one who reported the altercation began after Metcalf told Anthony to move out from under their team's tent, according to the arrest report.

The witness reported that Anthony allegedly reached inside his bag and said, "Touch me and see what happens," according to the arrest report.

Metcalf grabbed Anthony to move him, according to a witness, and Anthony allegedly pulled out what the witness described as a black knife and "stabbed Austin once in the chest and then ran away," the arrest report stated.

Anthony allegedly confessed to the killing and officers say he told them he was protecting himself, according to the arrest report.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Vance Fumbles The College Football Championship Trophy!

It takes a fool.

Vice President JD Vance resides in Cincinnati and Washington, DC.

He is the 50th Vice President of the United States.

As an Ohioan, he was proud of the College Football Playoff Championship winners the Ohio State Buckeyes. They clinched the win against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day and his team celebrate with the 45th/47th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.

As the team was gathering for their historical photo with the president and vice president, Vance appeared to grab the trophy and it collapse upon him holding it.

The Michigan Wolverines probably enjoyed this moment of zen.

After laudatory speeches by Trump, Day and Vance on the South Lawn, the vice president — an Ohio State graduate — tried to hoist aloft the trophy.

He didn’t count on the trophy’s golden top being designed to separate from its black base. After some struggling, the vice president lost his grip on the two pieces. OSU running back TreVeyon Henderson, standing behind Vance, grabbed the football-shaped top of the trophy. But the base fell to the ground, forcing Vance to grasp around as it rolled a short distance.

Some of the players around the vice president winced. The United States Marine Corps Band, which performs at presidential events, had to compete with audible gasps from the players and crowd as it played “We Are the Champions.”

Henderson and Day helped Vance reassemble the trophy, and the vice president later held just the top, cradling it in his arms while the players around him chuckled.

As pictures and videos of Vance’s fumble rocketed across the internet, the vice president tried to explain away the gaffe with self-deprecation: “I didn’t want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy so I decided to break it,” he wrote on X.

Trump credited the Ohio State team with winning the 2024 college football championship despite “adversity,” including the team’s upset loss to unranked Michigan 13-10 at home in November.

Trump said he hesitated to mention OSU’s fourth consecutive defeat to “the team up north — we won’t talk about it.”

Before fumbling the trophy, Vance also used part of his speech to mention the Buckeyes’ biggest rival — singling out an audience member in a Michigan hat.

“I don’t know who let the guy over in the corner here, in a Michigan hat, into this celebration,” Vance said. “But I’m about to tell the Secret Service, ‘You’ve got a dangerous weapon, sir.’”

Calling that one of the many chaotic things the Trump administration done so far.

Why ain't the junk food media challenging the cognitively of the vice president or president?

Wondering why the so called FBA aren't holding Vance accountable like they did former vice president Kamala Harris?

Harris is Black and Vance is white. They know they ain't getting shit from him or Trump.

Bypass!

Keep calling the people who voted for you paid protesters.

Y'all voted for this.

Republicans are concerned that President Donald J. Trump has went too far. They are concerned that the "flood the zone" is going to cost them big time.

Yet, the Democrats think they have an opportunity to retake the House.

They better tone down the ambitions. The ambitions are not looking good.

Republicans still have an advantage despite their policies being a pile of crap.

Democrats are still trying to figure out how to build back what they've lost.

If the Democrats abandon Israel, they may have a small window of support from the voters who opposed them in 2024.

The people who voted for these idiots are upset. So now they are avoiding the town halls and public events. They fear the so called paid protesters and George Soros backed groups infiltrating. Every dumb ass excuse to not being held accountable.

Members of Congress are back in their districts for a two-week recess, potentially bracing for more anger from constituents.

But voters in Republican districts might not have much of a chance to question their representatives.

Weeks after Rep. Richard Hudson, the chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, advised Republican members of Congress not to hold in-person town halls, it appears that most of them are heeding his advice.

According to press releases and publicly posted event notices, the majority of town halls and town hall-style events taking place over the congressional recess will be hosted by Democrats.

The few Republicans who have publicly advised that they’ll be holding town halls include Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Byron Donalds of Florida. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who just launched his 45th annual 99-county tour of Iowa, will also be holding a public town hall in his state.

Greene and Donalds, who is running for governor in Florida, each restricted registration for their upcoming town halls to residents of their respective districts.

The move comes after several of their colleagues have faced public ire at town halls in recent months over the Trump administration’s cuts to the federal workforce and a House Republican budget blueprint that could lead to Medicaid cuts.

Since the last recess, Republican members of the House and Senate voted on a new blueprint that directs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicare and Medicaid, to identify over $800 billion in spending cuts in areas of their jurisdiction.

Before Hudson’s March directive to avoid in-person town halls, videos of several Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Keith Self, R-Texas, and Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., facing angry constituents at local events went viral.

And after Hudson’s advice went public, Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., dealt with angry constituents inside and outside of his town hall event in western North Carolina last month, and Rep. Harriet Hageman, R-Wyo., was jeered and booed at a town hall she hosted for constituents.

It's all white. It's all white.

A source close to Hudson told NBC News that the NRCC chairman has not mentioned anything about town halls to GOP lawmakers since his advice in March.

Over a dozen Democratic lawmakers are still planning to hold their own events in their districts this month, but they’ve also had frustrated attendees at town halls, particularly after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., last month led Democrats to support a President Donald Trump-backed bill to fund the government.

The anger Democrats are facing at in-person events from members of their own party tracks with national polling numbers that say rank-and-file Democrats are seeking a stronger reaction to Trump from their elected leaders. A March NBC News poll found that nearly two-thirds — 65% — of the party’s voters want congressional Democrats to stick to their positions even if that risks sacrificing bipartisan progress with the president.

Still, the party is doubling down on a strategy to host a series of what it has dubbed “People’s Town Halls” in districts represented by Republicans.

Keep on showboating. Democrats need to get a little more progressive. Bernie and AOC may be the last thing left of a completely broken party.

Over the upcoming two-week recess, Democrats plan to hold town halls in Arizona’s 6th District, which is represented by GOP Rep. Juan Ciscomani; Pennsylvania’s 8th District, which is represented by Rep. Rob Bresnahan; Colorado’s 8th District, which is represented by GOP Rep. Gabe Evans; North Carolina’s 9th District, which is represented by Hudson; and Missouri’s 2nd District, which is represented by GOP Rep. Ann Wagner.

In a statement announcing the upcoming town halls, which follow an original slate of town hall events Democrats hosted in GOP-held districts last month, Rep. Suzan DelBene, the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, said Republicans’ constituents are “sick and tired of being ignored by House Republicans who refuse to do their jobs.”

She added that “vulnerable Republicans continue to run scared because they’re voting to raise costs, gut Medicaid, and threaten working families livelihoods.”

In a separate series of town halls that began a few weeks ago — dubbed the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour — Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., drew crowds of tens of thousands of people as they denounced Trump, congressional Republicans and congressional Democrats, whom Ocasio-Cortez urged to “fight harder.”

They held a rally in Los Angeles on Saturday, which Sanders’ communications director Anna Bahr said drew 36,000 people and was the senator’s largest ever.

Sanders said the administration “is moving us rapidly toward an authoritarian form of society — and Mr. Trump, we ain’t going there.”

Their tour will continue over this recess with planned stops in California, Utah, Idaho and Montana.

A spokesperson for the NRCC, House Republicans’ campaign arm, told NBC News in a statement, “In a desperate attempt to distract voters from the chaos in their own party, Democrats are resorting to political theater that panders to the far-left radicals instead of addressing the concerns of everyday voters who have already rejected their out-of-touch agenda.”

Blue Origin Successful!

The flight was a success. The rich and elite women flew in space.

The elitists in space.

If you're rich, you can actually be an astronaut.

Blue Origin NS-31 was a sub-orbital spaceflight mission, operated by Blue Origin, launched on April 14, 2025 at 8:30 CDT (9:30 AM EDT or 13:30 UTC) . The spaceflight included the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova's solo 1963 flight on Vostok 6.

Lauren Sanchez, the fiancé of billionaire elitist Jeff Bezos flew with Gayle King and Katy Perry.

While Americans are working paycheck to paycheck, the all female crew of Blue Origin successfully launched a mission.

It was the latest wave in space tourism, where more of the rich and famous than ever before — or lucky and well-connected — can enter the zero-gravity realm traditionally dominated by professional astronauts.

The New Shepard rocket blasted off on the quick up-and-down trip from West Texas. The fringes of space beckoned some 65 miles (105 kilometers) up, promising a few precious minutes of weightlessness.

Sanchez, a helicopter pilot and former TV journalist, invited the others along for the 10-minute, fully automated flight, packing on the star power with singer-songwriter Perry and “CBS Mornings” co-host King.

Also sharing the ride were film producer Kerianne Flynn; Aisha Bowe, a former NASA engineer who started her own companies to promote science education; and Amanda Nguyen, a scientist who studied planets around other stars and now advocates for survivors of sexual violence.

Blue Origin declined to say how much the flight cost or who paid what. The trip came two months before Sanchez and Bezos marry in Venice.

It was the 11th human spaceflight for the Washington state-based company, founded by Bezos in 2000 after making a fortune with Amazon. Bezos strapped in for Blue Origin’s first space tourist flight in 2021 and accompanied the latest crew to the pad.

The celebrity launch was the nation’s first spaceflight where women filled each seat. The only other all-female crew in 64 years of human spaceflight was back in 1963. That’s when Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova launched by herself, becoming the first woman in space. Tereshkova spent three days off the planet.

Even after the latest launch, women represent barely 15% of the more than 700 people who have traveled into space. Sanchez said she deliberately chose women to launch with her, each of them eager to inspire both the young and old to dream big, and even commissioned special flight suits.

“It’s an important moment for the future of commercial space travel and for humanity in general and for women all around,” Perry told The Associated Press last week.

The launch brought out VIPs to West Texas including Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner and other members of the Kardashian family, and several women who previously have flown on private flights. Winfrey, a close friend of King, wiped away tears when the capsule reached space and the passengers were heard marveling at the moon and shouting with joy.

As the women were buckling up after a few minutes of weightlessness, Perry sang a few lines of “What a Wonderful World,” King said in a post-launch televised interview.

Bezos opened the capsule’s hatch minutes after touchdown, embracing Sanchez, the first one out. As they emerged, Perry and King kneeled and kissed the ground. “Oh my God, that was amazing,” said King, who considers herself an anxious airplane flyer.

This wasn’t the first Blue Origin launch with marquee names.

“Star Trek” actor William Shatner caught a lift to space with Blue Origin in 2021 at age 90, soon after Bezos’ inaugural trip. He was followed by former New York Giants defensive end and TV host Michael Strahan and Laura Shepard Churchley, the eldest daughter of Mercury astronaut Alan Shepard, for whom the rocket is named. Two aviation pioneers who missed out on space when they were younger — Wally Funk and Ed Dwight — also rocketed away at ages 82 and 90, respectively.

Most of Blue Origin’s passengers — 58 counting the latest launch — have been business or science types, TV hosts or YouTubers. Ticket prices are not disclosed.

The Russian Space Agency also has launched its share of space tourists, beginning with a California financier in 2001. Two decades later, a Russian actress filmed aboard the International Space Station.

Elon Musk’s SpaceX also sells multi-day trips to private customers. SpaceX’s first client to fly, billionaire tech entrepreneur Jared Isaacman already has launched twice and performed the first private spacewalk. He’s now set to become NASA’s next administrator if confirmed by the Senate.

Chinese-born bitcoin investor Chun Wang just returned from the first spaceflight to carry people over the north and south poles. Wang picked up the whole SpaceX tab for himself and three polar explorers for an undisclosed sum.
