Ben Cardin Out!

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) retires.

Maryland senator announced retirement. Democratic senator Ben Cardin said he will not seek reelection.

"I am proud of all I have done for Maryland. I have given my heart and soul to our great state, and I thank Marylanders for trusting me as your representative for all these years. Thank you, Maryland," Cardin tweeted Monday, sharing a video of his retirement announcement.

"It’s time," Cardin, 79, told The Baltimore Sun in an interview at his Pikesville home. "I always knew this election cycle would be the one I would be thinking about not running again, so it’s not something that hit me by surprise. I enjoy life. There are other things I can do."

Cardin has served in the Senate since 2006 when he won a seat to replace retiring Democrat Paul Sarbanes. Before that, he was a congressman who represented a large part of Baltimore and several nearby suburbs, winning his first U.S. House race in 1986.

During his tenure in the Senate, Cardin has been a leader in health care, retirement security, the environment and fiscal issues. The senator has also been a leading advocate for clean water and the Chesapeake Bay, the nation’s largest estuary, which flows through his home state.

Republicans couldn't resist taking aim at the Democrats. They have a feeling they could flip the senate in 2024.

Ohio, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, Montana, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have incumbents who may face a possibility of being defeated.

"Democrats are quickly realizing that the Senate won't be any fun for them when Republicans retake the majority in 2024," National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesperson, Tate Mitchell, told Fox News.

Republicans so far have played upon culture wars since they won their slim majorities.

They managed to only win back the majority in the House of Representatives. They hold a five seat majority.

Fox Had Its Reasons!

Fox made a decision based off behavior.

Progressive watchdog group Media Matters for America celebrating the unceremonious firing of far right agitator Tucker Carlson. Perhaps one of the most watched television personalities on Fox, in April, Carlson was fired out the cannon on the same day that Don Lemon was fired from CNN.

Carlson's firing was a result of the Dominion Systems lawsuit and the federal lawsuit brought by Abby Grossman, a former Fox producer who is suing for sexual harassment and discrimination.

Media Matters obtained footage from Grossman. It has Carlson going on a rant against Fox. He also was reported calling his boss, Suzanne Scott, a c*nt.

The video below shows Carlson.

Media Matters shows him lashing out at Fox for the service’s “unbelievable” failings — apparently while doing some image rehab for misogynistic social media influencer Andrew Tate.

According to Carlson, “nobody watches Fox Nation because the site sucks” and doesn’t “work.” He called the site’s failings “a betrayal of our efforts,” adding that rather than posting his interviews there he would prefer to “dump the whole thing on YouTube.”

The video shows Carlson speaking on the phone on the set of his Tucker Carlson Today streaming interview show. He is discussing preparations for an interview in which he says he will act as “a representative of the American media now, speaking to an exile in Romania and welcoming him back into the brotherhood of journalists.” The person on the other end of the call asks if Carlson can wear a sweater for the interview because the subject was “panicking” about needing to wear a suit. Carlson becomes apoplectic, saying, “This is airing on the nighttime show, and I want it to look official” rather than “like bro talk.”

The interview in question appears to be with Tate, a Romania-based right-wing social media star whom Carlson gave a friendly August 2022 Tucker Carlson Today interview about Tate’s bannings from several platforms for misogynist content. Tate appeared in a T-shirt, while Carlson wore a sweater. After Carlson aired part of the interview on his Fox News show, he put up a chyron which read, “Go watch the full Andrew Tate interview on Fox Nation right after this show.”

In December 2022, Romanian authorities arrested Tate, who reportedly remains under house arrest while “being investigated on allegations of rape, people trafficking and forming an organised crime group.” Carlson subsequently declared Tate’s arrest “obviously a set-up.”

NewsNation and Newsmax are rumored to be seeking Carlson once his contract with Fox is resolved.

Trains Kill Trespassers!

Trains don't stop for trespassers.

Two juveniles were killed when an Amtrak passenger train struck them. They were trespassing on the tracks and of course misjudged the speed of the train. It happened in Chester, Pennsylvania, a suburb near Philadelphia.

Amtrak trains go as fast as 90 mph. It is extremely dangerous not to be on train tracks.

Throwing objects from bridges onto tracks, tagging rail cars, hitchhiking (hobo), trying to beat the train, walking abandoned tracks, walking on tressels, tampering with railroad equipment and riding a train on the outside is extremely dangerous.

Again, if you want to be a thrill seeker, get life insurance.

The train does not stop on a dime. It takes about one mile to make a complete stop.

A spokesman for Amtrak said two people had been “trespassing” on the tracks when they were struck by southbound Train 161 at 4:29 p.m. EDT, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The train was heading from New York to Washington, according to the newspaper.

Members of the Chester Police Chaplain Corps confirmed to KYW-TV that the victims were two children. Their identities and ages have not been released.

“It just broke my heart,” resident Clare Thomas told the television station. “That could have been my 10-year-old up there. How would I feel? I wouldn’t know what to do.”

“There was about five, or six, or seven of them. It was a pack of children on the track,” a woman named Tracey, who did not give her last name, told WPVI-TV. “We were getting out of the car and I said, ‘Oh, look at them children up there on that track.’ I said, ‘Y’all need to come down off that track,’ and they just looked, and I said ‘Y’all come down before you have an accident,’ and they just laughed and went about their business.

“I just wish the children would have listened, and I’m just so sorry.”

There were no injuries reported to the train’s 368 passengers or crew members, Amtrak said in a statement. Train service resumed at about 6 p.m. EDT on Saturday, the Inquirer reported. Amtrak officials said the crash delayed eight other company trains.

In a statement, the company said it was risky to trespass on train tracks, The Washington Post reported.

“Anyone not authorized to be on railroad property, including using the tracks as a ‘shortcut’ or not heeding the warnings of the approaching train, is trespassing as they are on the property without a lawful reason to do so,” the statement said.

Chester’s mayor is also urging residents to stay clear of the tracks.

“We try to encourage both our young folks and old to stay as far away from the tracks as possible. Our prayers go out to the family members,” Mayor Thaddeus Kirkland said, according to WPVI.

Wrong Way Driver Kills!

Intentional or not, wrong way driving leads to deadly consequences.

A deadly crash in Dayton.

A Cadillac DTS caused a deadly accident on Interstate 75 in Harrison Township. The Ohio State Patrol confirms two motorists have died in the accident.

Apparently the driver got onto the highway driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

The DTS ended up hitting a Kia Forte.

The drivers of the DTS and Forte were killed.

Then, the two vehicles crashed into the concrete median and sustained heavy damage, dispatch informed. During the collision, one of the involved vehicles “spun around.”

A northbound 2017 Nissan 4 door also sustained minor damage after being involved in the crash.

There were reported injuries, prompting medical units to respond to the crash, dispatch said.

Ohio slowly installing wrong way detection.

The drivers of the Cadillac and Kia were killed upon impact, the spokesperson informed. Their identities were undisclosed pending the notification of the victims’ next of kin.

The Nissan’s driver did not report any injuries.

In Columbus and Cincinnati, they have wrong way sensor tables that immediately notify local authorities and digital overhead signs will notify motorists to be on the lookout.

Dayton does not have many digital overhead signs on its freeways. Matter of fact, you find only about few in Montgomery County. These signs would have been necessary to warn motorists that a wrong way driver was near.

Dayton is slow to the party.

This was one of five deadly accidents over the weekend.

What Bugs You?

A female lone star tick.

Americans who want to enjoy the warmer weather of spring and summer better be careful of being in heavily wooded areas. A eight leg parasite is lurking in the tall grasses.

Whether you're cutting grass, hiking in the woods, climbing a tree or going to a beach, the bug is lurking.

The animal is called the long star tick. The bug is an arachnid that can bite you and spread a disease that can make you seriously allergic to red meat and milk.

The potentially life-threatening allergic reaction is called alpha-gal syndrome, or AGS. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says AGS can be triggered by a bite from a lone star tick, which are present in most areas of the U.S., though are less common up north and out west.

Animals like cows, deer, and lamb have AGS blood sugar, and the tick spreads it from animal to human.

Alpha-gal is a sugar molecule that’s found in most mammals and can also be found in their meat. Alpha-gal is found in pork, beef, lamb and venison. Allergic reactions include hives and rash, diarrhea, nausea, shortness of breath, low blood pressure, and swelling of the lips, throat, tongue and eyelids.

“It is one of those stranger-than-fiction kinda medical stories,” said Dr. Cosby Stone Jr., assistant professor of Vanderbilt Allergy and Immunology in Nashville, Tennesse. Stone and a research team have studied these unusual tick bites in children.

“I don’t like conspiracy theories,” said Stone. “But this is like the time when the conspiracy theory came true. And the tick bite turns you into someone that’s allergic to the food.”

AGS can be hard to spot. The symptoms often show up hours after eating red meat and the stomach pain often leads to a misdiagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Out of the 200 children Vanderbilt studied, 8% saw symptom relief by staying away from red meat.

The lone star tick stretches from Texas to Maine. It has appeared in Mexico and Canada.

Previous research indicates treatment can include taking antihistamines and adjusting diets to avoid mammalian products. Over time and with physicians’ advice, people can re-introduce meats and mammal products back into diets.

Ticks are often found where deer rest or graze. It’s suggested to avoid those areas and do your best to keep deer out of your yard. Garlic and onions are two natural ways to scare them off.

The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station has a few ways to spot lone star ticks:
  • Females have an obvious whitish dot on their backs
  • Males don’t have the dot but have whitish markings at the edges of their bodies
  • Nymphs (young) lone star ticks are more circular than adults, which are more egg-shaped. They’re also smaller than adults
CAES says the adult ticks are more active in spring and early summer, while nymphs are most active from April through summer. All lone star ticks are active in summer months. Both the CDC and other researchers warn lone star ticks are likely not the only ticks causing the spread of AGS.

“Alpha-gal allergies sort of broke all of our conventional rules as to what allergy is supposed to look like,” Stone said. “When you have a child that every now and again they are clutching their stomach, they’re throwing up and having diarrhea, and it happens regularly, that’s miserable for everybody.”

The lone star tick is an aggressive, generalist feeder; it actively pursues blood meals and is not specific about the species of host upon which it feeds. As already mentioned, A. americanum requires a separate animal or human host to complete each stage of its life cycle. The lifecycle begins when the blood-engorged adult female tick drops from her host, depositing around 5,000 eggs a few days later, once she has reached a safe and suitable location, such as in mulch or leaf litter. After an incubation period, larvae hatch from their eggs and undergo a quiescent (resting) period; this is followed by the pursuit of a host via questing. After feeding for one to three days, the blood-engorged larva dislodges from its host to digest its blood meal and molt into a nymph. The nymph follows this same pattern, attaching to a new host via questing and dropping from the host after its blood meal to molt into an adult tick. The female adult tick dies shortly after depositing her eggs.

Larval lone star ticks have been found attached to birds and small mammals, and nymphal ticks have been found on these two groups, as well as on small rodents. Adult lone star ticks usually feed on medium and large mammals, and are very frequently found on white-tailed deer. Lone star ticks also feed on humans at any stage of development.

The bites are painlessly and commonly going unnoticed. The tick remains attached to its host for as long as seven days or until it is fully engorged with blood.

Stay In Your Privileged Lane!

The culture of tone deafness.

Remember Ice Cube directly told libertarian comedian Bill Maher to stay in his lane when it comes to addressing Black America. He said he didn't care how many Black women Maher dates, it doesn't give him the right to use the N-word or address issues in the community.

Bill Maher is a white comedian and political agitator. He hosts Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, a division of WarnerMedia. The show is coming to CNN soon.

Besides kissing Elon Musk's ass and doing the Cojones Awards, Maher continues to abandon the very folks he used to count on for his show's survival.

In the wake of the mass shooting in Dedeville. Alabama and numerous shootings across the country including the most recent mass shooting in Cleveland, Texas, Republicans often pivot from addressing gun violence to culture wars and dog whistle politics.

Tennessee state representatives Justin Jones and Justin Pearson were returned to the state house after being expelled by Republicans for protesting against gun violence.

Maher being a total tool uses the old troupe about Black on whatever violence.

Thus using Chicago as his excuse to bash Blacks. On top of that, he claims its the fault of Democrats and not Congress' inaction to curb gun violence. Remember Republicans would rather ban books, drag shows, Facebook, TikTok, early voting, mail-in voting, transgender rights, abortion, end the safety net, repeal student loan forgiveness and block unions.

Guns, have more and more cops in schools, more guns to the mentally ill.

Fun fact: Most firearms used in crime are legally purchased. Most mass shooters legally obtained their firearms.

Although Chicago's Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson has condemned criminal activities such as the "Teen Takeover" of the streets on April 15, he criticized people for "demonizing" their violent behavior.

"It is well past due we put an end to this dynamic. Look, demonizing children is wrong. We have to keep them safe as well," Johnson said in a speech on Thursday.

Loury similarly criticized the failure of Democrat politicians such as Johnson to address and properly handle crime in their cities.

The Loop was a teen takeover.

Johnson and soon departing mayor Lori Lightfoot are often targeted by Republicans for the gun violence in Chicago. Both mayors have condemned gun violence and urged Congress to pass gun prevention laws.

Maher went on to criticize suggestions that more financial investment in the city would fix the issue.

"One in 3 children in America cannot read at a basic level of comprehension. Eight-five percent of Black students lack proficiency in reading skills," he said. "We already spent a lot of money on schools. So, are you going to keep telling me that more money will fix this because I feel like this is much more connected to the problems of people who can't read. Yes, they're going to have problems with gainful employment, and it seems like, you know, a lot of times the solutions that come from the left seem symbolic. They don't seem like we're addressing what really needs to be done, which is get kids learning, get them reading, get them to have a job."

Okay, give up comedy and become a teacher in Atlanta, Birmingham, Tallahassee, Columbia, Memphis, St. Louis and yes, Chicago. They are being told to not cover issues that go against Western European and American execptionism.

If you're so concerned about how Black children are lacking comprehension from some made up psuedo-science bullshit, why don't you use your fucking millions to open up a community center in Chicago?

How about investing some of your comedy funds to arts and entertainment in Chicago Public Schools?

Bill Maher, why don't you come out of your Los Angeles penthouse and move to Chicago?

You fucking grew up in lily white River Vale, New Jersey.

So you have Black girlfriends, it does not excuse your racial arsonist behavior.

Matter of fact, you're 67 years old and dating a 39 year old old. You creepy dude.

I don't understand why Anjulie saw you as an interest?

Bill, you got a pass for the N-word. Don't let your war on cancel culture put you in the Tucker Carlson boat!

Border Wall Scammer Wheels 4 1/2 In Federal Time Out!

Far right grifter goes to federal time out.

Brian Kolfage, the disabled military veteran and far right activist who created We Build The Wall with the insufferable agitator Steve Bannon will see years of his life behind bars.

By that time, his wife Ashley Kolfage will find a sugar daddy. She is a social media influencer and a gold digger.

Brian Kolfage was convicted of stealing millions from donors who were hoping to self fund building a border wall that stretched 20 miles between Texas and Mexico.

Kolfage, a decorated Air Force veteran who lost both of his legs and an arm in the Iraq War, previously pleaded guilty for his role in siphoning donations from the We Build the Wall campaign.

A co-defendant, financier Andrew Badolato, was also sentenced to three years for aiding the effort. He had also pleaded guilty. A third man involved in siphoning funds from the wall project, Colorado businessman Tim Shea, won’t be sentenced until June.

Kolfage and Badolato were also ordered to pay $25 million in restitution to the victims.

Absent from the case was Bannon, Washed Up 45’s former top political adviser. He was initially arrested aboard a luxury yacht and faced federal fraud charges along with the other men, but the former president pardoned him during his final hours in office.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg brought new, state charges against Bannon last year. He is awaiting trial. Presidential pardons apply only to federal crimes, not state offenses. Bannon has called the case “nonsense.”

Kolfage, Badolato and Shea were not pardoned by the former president, leaving them to face the prospect of years of federal time out.

Prosecutors said the scheme was hatched by Kolfage, who served as the public face of the effort as it raised more than $25 million from donors across the country. He repeatedly assured the public he would “not take a penny” from the campaign.

As money poured into the cause, Kolfage and his partner, Shea, turned to Bannon and Badolato for help creating a nonprofit, We Build the Wall, Inc. The four defendants then took steps to funnel the money to themselves for personal gain, prosecutors said.

Trophy wife Ashley Kolfage will likely find a new sugar daddy.

An attorney for Badolato, Kelly Kramer, described Bannon as “a leader and primary beneficiary” of the scheme, noting that his own client received a much smaller payout than the pardoned associate.

While prosecutors acknowledged that Badolato profited the least of the four defendants, they described him as the “connective tissue” between Kolfage and Bannon, helping to direct the kickbacks between the two parties.

Kolfage, 41, told Judge Analisa Torres that he was “remorseful, disgusted, humiliated.” He said he had not anticipated the scale of donations that would flood in for the cause and soon found himself drifting away from his initial goal, which he said was “putting a spotlight on the country’s broken immigration system.”

“I made a promise not to personally benefit and I broke that promise,” he said.

Torres said the defendants not only cheated their donors but contributed to a “chilling effect on civic participation” by tarnishing the reputation of political fundraising.

“The fraudsters behind We Build The Wall injured the body politic,” she said.

Kolfage received more than $350,000 in donor funds, which he spent on personal expenses that included boat payments, a luxury SUV and cosmetic surgery, prosecutors said in a court filing.

Bannon was accused of taking more than $1 million through a separate nonprofit, then secretly paying some of it back to Kolfage.

Badolato, 58, and Shea also stole hundreds of thousands from fundraisers as well, prosecutors said.

As part of a plea deal, Kolfage and Badolato agreed not to challenge a sentence within the agreed-upon range: between four to five years for Kolfage and 3 1/2 to four years for Badolato.

An attorney for Kolfage previously argued that his client should avoid time given his lack of criminal history and severe disability.

Some sections of a border barrier were built by We Build the Wall on private lands, but the nonprofit is now defunct.

"Louder" With Crowder!

Loser be Crowder.

Far right agitator is heading towards divorce. He is riled up over a gay progressive blogger leaking an infamous video showing him berate his 8 month pregnant wife.

Yashar Ali who was a target of this guy in the past got the last laugh.

Steven Crowder is a Canadian-American comedian and far right agitator. He was a social media influencer on YouTube until the platform demonetizate his propaganda. Now he is a mainstream figure on Rumble, a far right-like YouTube where uncensored extremists and Washed Up 45 use the platform for their noise.

Hilary Korzon-Crowder is the embattled wife of Steven. She filed for divorce in 2021 a few months before Crowder had underwent a surgical operation in which titanium bars were inserted into his chest in order to counteract his congenital condition of pectus excavatum (sunken chest). The surgery caused fluid to accumulate in his lungs, which he called "excruciatingly painful". Several weeks later, he was rushed to the hospital due to a collapsed lung.

Crowder has twins, a daughter and son.

Crowder is furious that folks are trashing him for his warped belief that wives must have servitude towards the husbands.

Crowder loses his fortune.

A video circulating shows Crowder verbally abuse towards Hilary. She had to leave because it was dangerous to her life.

“The truth is that Hilary spent years hiding Steven's mentally and emotionally abusive behavior from her friends and family while she attempted to save their marriage. She was the one who was asking to work on their relationship to keep the marriage intact for their unborn children,” the statement read.

Crowder has also engaged in a feud with Candace Owens, the infamous far right Black extremist who profits off of chaos. Crowder warns Owens that his troll army will respond.

Crowder’s attorney reportedly rebuffing a cease-and-desist letter from Owens, and with Crowder’s ex-wife’s family releasing a statement accusing Crowder of emotional abuse.

Owens theorized that Crowder made his announcement now, after his once-ally Owen Benjamin leaked news of Crowder’s divorce this week. She also speculated that the announcement was meant to distract from a recent interview in which a former Crowder employee accused Crowder of censoring him.

Crowder and Owens’ feud dates back to January, when Crowder went public with a job offer he’d received from Owens’ employer, The Daily Wire. Crowder slammed the $50 million deal as a “slave contract” that would subject him to Big Tech censorship, namely because The Daily Wire reserved the right to dock Crowder’s pay if his channel (which frequently promotes racist, sexist, and anti-LGBT material) got demonetized or suspended. Crowder released a recorded phone call with The Daily Wire’s CEO, leading to a counteroffensive from Daily Wire personalities like Owens.

Carolyn Bryant Donham Passed Away!

Emmett Till accuser died in Louisiana.

No justice for Emmett Till.

Hopefully, someone will piss on that wretched woman's grave. The evil b*tch.

In 2022, it was discovered that Carolyn Bryant Donham lived in Bowling Green, Kentucky and it led to protest. I guess the old b*tch moved. Donham died Tuesday night in Westlake, Louisiana, according to a death report filed Thursday in Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office in Louisiana.

Till’s kidnapping and killing became a catalyst for the civil rights movement when his mother insisted on an open-casket funeral in their hometown of Chicago after his brutalized body was pulled from a river in Mississippi. Jet magazine published photos.

The protests for her arrest were ignored.

In 1955, this woman claimed a 14 year old Emmett Till whistled at her while shenwas stocking shelves at her small grocery store in Money, Mississippi. She told her husband.

Her husband and his half brother abducted Emmett from his bed and took him to the Tallahatchie River where they shot him. They gouged his eyes, mutilated his face, cut his hands off and tied his body to a cotton gin and sunk it into the river.

Evidence indicates a woman identified Till to her then-husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam, who killed the teenager. An all-white jury acquitted the two white men in the killing, but the men later confessed in an interview with Look magazine.

Emmett and Mamie Till.

In an unpublished memoir obtained by The Associated Press in 2022, Donham said she was unaware of what would happen to the 14-year-old Till. Donham was 21 at the time.

The contents of the 99-page manuscript, titled “I am More Than A Wolf Whistle,” were first reported by the Mississippi Center for Investigative Reporting. Historian and author Timothy Tyson of Durham, who said he obtained a copy from Donham while interviewing her in 2008, provided a copy to the AP.

Tyson had placed the manuscript in an archive at the University of North Carolina with the agreement that it not be made public for decades, though he said he gave it to the FBI during an investigation the agency concluded last year. He said he decided to make it public now following the recent discovery of an arrest warrant on kidnapping charges that was issued for Donham in 1955 but never served.

Jerry Springer Passed Away!

The ringmaster of trash television and iconic entertainer Jerry Springer passed away from cancer.

A part of American television history has passed away.

The king of trash television and former Cincinnati mayor Jerry Springer has passed away at the age of 79.

Perhaps best known as the world famous ringmaster of reality TV, Springer hosted The Jerry Springer Show from 1991 until 2018 and Judge Jerry from 2019 until 2022 He hosted dating show Baggage from 2010 until 2015 and was a judge on America's Got Talent for two seasons.

The Jerry Springer Show was America's most controversial talk show. Where Oprah Winfrey, Phil Donahue and Sally Jesse Raphael tackled controversial issues, Jerry brought the issues to the front lines with many guest ending up famous adult entertainers or popular figures in their own right.

The program was unsuccessful in ratings in its first seasons due to its focus on more political issues. This led to an overhaul of the structure which by the mid-1990s led to the show as it is known now, filled with controversial topics (such as incest and adultery), profanity, physical fights (involving a mixture of boxing and wrestling), nudity, and scantily clad guests. He hosted morbidly obese people, Americans with dwarfism, transgender women and men, adult film stars, racists, people with sexual fetishism and the oddities.

The show premiered on September 30, 1991. It was taped in Chicago, Illinois from 1991 to 2009 and in Stamford, Connecticut, from 2009 to 2018. On June 13, 2018, NBCUniversal ended production of new episodes of the show after 27 seasons.

Jerry Springer with Steve Wilkos. Jerry's former security manager is currently hosting his own talk show.

He gave way to his former security guard Steve Wilkos hosting his own talk show and fellow Cincinnati agitator Bill Cunningham, a far right agitator who hosting a talk show on many CW stations for five years.

The entertainer had hosted a podcast until February 2023. Springer was also a progressive agitator who had stints on Air America Radio.

His family confirmed that he passed away from a brief illness at his home in Chicago.

"Jerry, born Gerald Norman Springer in London, England on February 13, 1944, immigrated to Queens, New York at the age of four along with his parents and older sister. He graduated from Tulane University and Northwestern University Law School, served in the United States Army Reserves and had a long career in law, politics, journalism and broadcasting. He was known for the Jerry Springer Show, the Judge Jerry Show, the Springer on the Radio Show, Baggage, the Jerry Springer Podcast and until recently even his own 60s folk music radio show in Cincinnati. He also wrote an autobiography and once starred in a movie. But he captured the emotions of the country in 2006 with a shockingly long and humorous run on the popular Dancing With the Stars Show."

Springer was elected to the Cincinnati City Council in 1971. He resigned in 1974 after admitting to soliciting a prostitute. Springer came clean at a press conference. Long-time Cincinnati newsman Al Schottelkotte pronounced Springer's career over, but Springer's honesty helped him win back his seat in 1975 by a landslide.

Springer was mayor of Cincinnati in 1977 and 1978 and served on a city council throughout most of the 1970s and early 1980s. He was an unsuccessful candidate in the Democratic Party primary for governor of Ohio in 1982.

Jerry Springer: The Musical was a Broadway hit.

“Jerry’s ability to connect with people was at the heart of his success in everything he tried whether that was politics, broadcasting or just joking with people on the street who wanted a photo or a word,” said Jene Galvin, a lifelong friend and spokesman for the family. “He’s irreplaceable and his loss hurts immensely, but memories of his intellect, heart and humor will live on.”

Springer was born in the London Underground station of Highgate while the station was in use as a shelter from German bombing during World War II, and grew up on Chandos Road, East Finchley. His parents, Margot (née Kallmann; a bank clerk) and Richard Springer (owner of a shoe shop), were German-Jewish refugees who escaped from Landsberg an der Warthe, Prussia (now Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland). His maternal grandmother, Marie Kallmann, who was left behind, died in the gas vans of Chełmno extermination camp (German-occupied Poland). His paternal grandmother, Selma Springer (née Elkeles), died at the hospital in the Theresienstadt concentration camp (German-occupied Czechoslovakia). Selma Springer's brother, Hermann Elkeles, was a renowned Berlin doctor who also died at Theresienstadt concentration camp.

In January 1949, at the age of four, Springer immigrated with his parents to the United States, settling in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of Queens, New York City. He attended nearby Forest Hills High School. One of his earliest memories about current events was when he was 12 and watching the 1956 Democratic National Convention on television where he saw and was impressed by John F. Kennedy.

Springer earned a B.A. degree from Tulane University in 1965, majoring in political science. He earned a J.D. degree from Northwestern University in 1968.

Bed Bath & Beyond Fades Out!

The end of the road.

It appears that Bed Bath & Beyond as well as Buy Buy Baby are going out of business. The company filed for Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It will begin liquidating and begin closing all the stores in the United States.

Along with the announcement of the bankruptcy, the company announced that its popular 20% off coupons, or any other coupons, would no longer be accepted at stores or online as of Wednesday.

While the coupons are no longer accepted, the retailer said customers can expect ‘deep discounts’ as the chain’s closing sales start on Wednesday and continue until May 24.

“We anticipate that we will stop accepting coupons on April 26, 2023, when we will start our store closing sales, where customers will be able to shop for your favorite products at deep discounts,” the company said in a statement.

According to the retailer, gift cards can be used through May 8. The company will accept returns and exchanges for items purchased prior to Wednesday in accordance with usual policies until May 24, the company said.

“Store closing sales will start on April 26, 2023 (Wednesday). All purchases during our store closing sales will be final.”

Membership benefits will also end Wednesday, but “customers can redeem merchandise credits until May 15, 2023,” according to the company.

Bed Bath & Beyond and Buy Buy BABY stores will remain open as the company “begins its efforts to effectuate the closure of its retail locations,” the company said in the statement.

As many of the last remaining workers get severance or job loss, the CEO and top executives will walk away with millions and venture capitalists will still bank in billions.
