Singer and media personality Kelly Rowland reacted to the now viral video of a person dressed as Rosita snubbing two Black girls. It comes as Sesame Workshop and Sesame Place reacted to this and a string of other videos showing characters ignore Black children.
The mother said she will never set foot in that place ever again. She hired an attorney to pursuit a lawsuit.
“The fact that this even happened, the fact that this is going to be a core memory for them when it comes to Sesame Place, it’s actually disgusting and unbelievable to me,” Jodi Brown said.
Brown says her daughter and niece were sad after what happened at Sesame Place, so she posted this video on Instagram on Saturday.
Brown said the character Rosita was walking a parade route, high-fiving and hugging other children, but intentionally ignored her daughter and her niece. She believes it was because of the color of their skin.
Sesame Place officials though are claiming it was a misunderstanding.
Brown just wants Sesame to take accountability for what happened.
“When I first posted the picture the following day, they sent me a message to call to speak to a manager, she was supposed to call me back, and I haven’t received a phone call back since the whole situation went viral,” Brown said.
Sesame Workshop is aware of the recent incident at Sesame Place Philadelphia, which we take very seriously. What these children experienced is unacceptable. (1/5)
As a global nonprofit educational organization with a mission to help children grow smarter, stronger and kinder, Sesame Workshop has always stood for respect, inclusion and belonging ... (3/5)
We will continue working with our long-term partner Sesame Place to ensure that appropriate actions are taken and that incidents like this do not happen in the future. (5/5)
The former Destiny's Child vocalist was not pleased when Sesame Place Philadelphia rolled out a weak apology towards the family. She said had it been her and her children, she would have burned down the place. Figuratively speaking, she said she would literally confront the character or management.
“Okay, so had that been me, that whole parade would’ve been in flames. Are you serious?! You’re not going to speak to my child? And did you see that baby’s face at the end? The little one with the pink on? She deserves an explanation!”
There have been a handful of videos showing characters interacting with white guests but ignore or shove aside Black children.
The person who played Rosita will be punished.
Sesame Place and Sesame Workshop said it will take steps to identify the characters, retrain them and promptly discipline those who refuse to follow their policies.
“Our brand, our park and our employees stand for inclusivity and equality in all forms. That is what Sesame Place is all about and we do not tolerate any behaviors in our parks that are contrary to that commitment. Regarding the incident yesterday, the costumes our performers wear sometimes make it difficult to see at lower levels and sometimes our performers miss hug requests from guests.”
The statement claimed the gestures from the person in the Rosita weren’t aimed at “any specific person.” Sesame Place also said in its statement that the employee in the costume “did not intentionally ignore the girls and is devastated about the misunderstanding.” They also invited the family back for a “special meet-and-greet opportunity.” The family has not revealed whether or not they will pursue legal action or take Sesame Place up on their offer.
Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Illinois are the Midwestern states.
Democrats are weak and Republicans are extreme. That is how most voters see it.
Republicans see opportunities in courting white voters who feel that President Joe Biden is not delivering results. Many of these state legislatures are Republican controlled and they continue to push their fascist agenda despite them being very unpopular.
Republicans continue to make gerrymandered maps. The voters decided that they want a fair redistricting map. Republicans ignore it and continue to make districts that favor them. Now they have 30 days to figure out how to
Ohio has a second primary in August 2022.
Ohio lost a congressional district and now it will have to figure out how to make these 15 districts fair.
If the state legislature cannot come up with new maps in 30 days, the task will fall to the Ohio Redistricting Commission, a group of seven officials including the governor and the secretary of state.
In its 4-3 ruling, the court said the latest map — which was passed earlier this year by the Ohio Redistricting Commission without Democratic support — again violated a 2018 constitutional amendment aimed at preventing partisan gerrymandering.
The map created 10 safe Republican seats and five Democratic seats. However, the high court’s majority said the latest map “packed” Democrats into three congressional districts that would heavily favor a Democratic candidate, while unfairly splitting counties and cities around heavily-Democratic Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus.
GOP commissioners called it their best attempt at avoiding partisan favor while abiding by the Constitution’s specific provisions, which are in use this decade for the first time.
Majority justices said evidence showed a map that didn’t “unduly favor” Ohio’s majority party would have at least six Democratic-leaning districts, leaving nine Republican-leaning districts. The justices cited studies by several election experts hired by the voting-rights and Democratic groups who challenged the maps.
The House of Representatives have pass a lot of bills only for them to die in the Senate.
Republicans nearly oppose everything being passed by the House. Many of these bills require a 60 vote majority.
Two Democrats refuse to end the filibuster rules. Republican if they get in power will likely end the filibuster rules and push forward a fascist agenda.
Democrats are now rushing to protect marriage equality. That means gay and interracial marriage. In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, Supreme Court justice Coonrence Thomas and Republicans are now focused on overturning Obergefell v. Hodges.
If overturned, states will imposes marriage bans on same sex and interracial couples.
The Democratic-controlled chamber is set to vote Tuesday on the Respect for Marriage Act, which would establish legal protections for marriage between same-sex couples nationwide, according to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer's (D-MD) office. The House is poised to vote later in the week on the Right to Contraception Act, a bill that would protect access to birth control.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told Democrats in a letter Monday that the House will pass the bills "this week" to enshrine those rights in order “to protect freedom in our nation, as extremist Justices and lawmakers take aim at more of our basic rights.”
The two measures are expected to pass the House with Democratic support — and potentially some Republicans. It's unclear if they can pass the Senate, which is split 50-50 between the two parties and where the bills would need at least 10 GOP votes to defeat a filibuster. Sen. Karen Collins (R-ME) is a co-sponsor of the marriage equality bill, but is the only Republican senator, so far, to champion the bill.
Sen. Karen Cruz (R-TX) meanwhile, said Saturday that the 2015 decision legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide was “clearly wrong” and an example of the justices “overreaching.”
“Obergefell, like Roe v. Wade, ignored two centuries of our nation’s history,” he said on “Verdict with Ted Cruz,” his podcast. “Marriage was always an issue that was left to the states.”
The Supreme Court will take up marriage equality.
Cruz said Monday that states should not be allowed to ban other categories of marriage. Asked by NBC News if he believes the Supreme Court should overturn Loving v. Virginia, which found a right to interracial marriage, Cruz said, “Of course not.”
“Because Loving was plainly correct,” he said, arguing that that decision was based on the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment, which he said, “was passed to eliminate government racial discrimination.”
Democrats are using threats to same-sex marriage and contraception to try to galvanize voters in the 2022 midterm election.
“People should be concerned, based on how the Supreme Court ruled in overturning Roe v. Wade. This is clearly an activist court,” Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) the chair of the Democratic Senate campaign arm, said in an interview.
In 2015, the 5-to-4 Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationally prompted a tactical retreat by Republicans as public opinion was moving rapidly toward support of the right. But the court’s newly constructed 6-to-3 majority — seen as the most conservative in nearly a century — offers the tantalizing possibility for opponents of gay marriage that the ruling could also be reversed.
The votes could put Republican senators in a difficult position, with Obstructionist leader Karen McConnell (R-KY) seeking to downplay cultural hot button issues where his party is at odds with public opinion in order to protect GOP candidates in the fall midterm elections.
But many Republican senators are wary of alienating their culturally conservative base, which is disillusioned by the pace of social change in the United States and has little interest in seeing their elected representatives codify those rights. Last week, Republicans blocked a bill to protect interstate travel to legally get an abortion.
Thomas wants to end marriage equality. It might come back to haunt him.
And on Monday, Senate Republicans appeared conflicted when asked if same-sex marriage and contraception should be rights.
Sen. Karen Johnson (R-WI) called those proposals "a hypothetical" and added that he'll "see what happens" if they come up.
Sen. Karen Ernst (R-IA) a member of GOP leadership, said she would "have to look at any text" on codifying legal birth control.
"I don't know that we need to codify things like that. Shouldn't that be states and local jurisdictions, maybe?" she said. "I would just have to see how it's worded. But, no, I think women should have access to contraception. But it depends on the definition of contraception."
Sen. Karen Lankford (R-OK) accused Democrats of seeking to “ramp everybody up leading up to the election to say, ‘Oh, my gosh, Republicans are coming after you’ kind of theme that they seem to be running right now.”
When asked if Congress should establish a right to contraception, he said “there already is” a right under Supreme Court precedent.
Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) who is fighting to hold her seat this fall, said her constituents are “outraged” by the rescinding of their rights by the court and that she strongly supports both bills. As for contraception, she said, “I can’t even believe that I have to be talking about this issue, quite honestly.”
The mass shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall in suburban Indianapolis.
Another white terrorist who decided to take his frustrations on the world. He may have been motivated by hate. The victims were identified by the Marion County coroner's office.
The terrorist is a 20-year old from Greenwood, Indiana.
Elisjsha Dicken, the 22-year-old Indiana man who intervened in a mass shooting at the Greenwood Park Mall on Sunday night. This man was extremely lucky. He managed to kill the mass shooter with a normal handgun. The terrorist was hoping to kill many more.
Before he carried out his attack, the terrorist was hiding in a men's restroom preparing for his attack. He wanted to target the food court because most people gather around that area to eat and meet up.
President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Gov. Karen Holcomb, Sen. Karen Young (R-IN), Sen. Karen Braun (R-IN) and the U.S. Representatives for Indiana were informed of the mass shooting.
The far right lawmaker, Rep. Karen Banks (R-IN) praises the "good guy with a gun" for risking his life to save lives and giving the NRA's weak argument a boost. Still three people died, lives were interrupted and folks will avoid the mall because of shit like this.
"I'm grateful a good guy with a gun was there to prevent further casualties and am praying for the families who lost loved ones in this senseless tragedy," said Banks, a Republican who represents Fort Wayne and the northeast parts of the state, in a tweet Sunday night.
Notice Republicans wants prayers and not solutions.
An active shooter doesn't care about the politics, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, your finances, your family, your plans that day, your successes, your failures, and most importantly, your life.
The shooter is motivated within seconds to take out as many people as he/she can.
Terrorist was plotting.
What to do to protect your life.
1. Run - If you hear sounds like firecrackers, popping sounds or suspicious activities around a large gathering (i.e. malls, stores, clubs, public gatherings), if you can flee, run away from the shooter. Do not run in a straight path of the sight. Move around and zig-zag if possible to keep yourself out the line of fire. It's best to not film a shooter commiting the act. If you are willing to risk your life for a viral video, more power to you but its best to stay out of the line of fire by running away.
2. Hide - If you are involved in an active shooting, you must barricade yourself in a room and keep doors locked, lights off, phones on silent. Do not go into restrooms, lockers and kitchens. Those are most likely places where shooters often go. If you can barricade a room to prevent a shooter from getting in, it eliminate the opportunity for the shooter to get through. Make sure you keep your voice low when you're involved in mass shooting. Call 9-1-1 if you can.
3. Fight - If you are willing to risk your life or willing to film the incident, you have no choice but to fight. Make sure you grab something that is powerful enough to disarm a shooter. Do not confront a shooter in the midst of sight. Make yourself not visible if you're trying to fight. Do not think being a "good guy with a gun" is going to stop a bad guy. The cops don't see good guys trying to stop bad guys. They see active shooters and they will shoot anyone who is armed regardless of the matter. If you're ready to fight, be prepared to die. It's best to not be easily seen if you're trying to stop a shooter. If you're a conceal carry and attempt to disarm an active shooter, you are willing to sacrifice your life to save lives. You are willing to go hero, you could die a hero or an idiot.
The terrorist had an AR-15 style weapon and appeared to empty over a 100 rounds.
The Johnson County and Marion County coroners' offices identified the slain victims as a married Indianapolis couple — Pedro Pineda, 56, and Rosa Mirian Rivera de Pineda, 37 — and Victor Gomez, 30, also of Indianapolis. A woman and a 12-year-old girl who was hit by shrapnel were wounded in the attack, police said.
White man stops mass shooter.
Dicken, a white male was in the mall with his girlfriend when the shooting happened. He survived not being killed by the cops. He has white privilege and was pretty lucky to not be shot and killed. E.J. Bradford did all the things right when a Black terrorist opened fire in the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Birmingham, Alabama. He was a Black good guy with a gun and the white cops shot and killed him.
There were other good guys with guns killed. The Buffalo shooter killed a Black good guy with a gun. He was a security officer who had retired from the Buffalo Police.
Dicken was a hero, an idiot and a prime example of the white talking points about more guns in the hands of more potential killers. See the good guy was not a Black man, Latino man, practicing Muslim or foreign national. He lived to keep that talking point alive.
"He engaged the gunman from quite a distance with a handgun and was very proficient in that, very tactically sound," Greenwood Police chief James Ison said of Dicken. "And as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him."
Dicken fired 10 rounds from his handgun, according to the chief, and that as he fired, the gunman "attempted to retreat back into the restroom and failed, and fell to the ground after being shot."
Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how gun reform is taking away your rights to own firearms.
I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth.
When you hear folks say "gun rights," what they really mean is that its white privilege. This good guy with a gun nonsense has to end. The cops didn't do nothing when children were shot inside a school. A security guard was shot dead trying to protect shoppers. A cop accidentally shot his own. The good guy who tried to stop a bad guy is outgunned and a part of the rule #3. The "good guy with a gun" better be prepared to die if they want to stop a shooter.
Nearly 400 mass shootings in 2022.
I don't want to hear folks say masks and vaccine mandates impede their freedoms. It prevents a deadly outbreak from spreading. If you want to die from the coronavirus, that's on you. We lost over 1 million people from the coronavirus.
I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. Cause a bullet does not have eyes and it's always likely gonna hit a target. These folks seem to not get it. These incidents are a tragic part of American history. Thoughts and prayers and your heart going out to the victims is not enough. It quite frankly is an insult. I am also tired of scapegoating Black on Black crime, Chicago, Baltimore and Democratic mayors for the nation's obsession to be numb to gun violence. You pretty much enable this nonsense by deflecting.
Malls are often a soft target.
President Joe Biden is trying to curb gun violence. However, he has no support from Republicans. Most Democrats and America are for gun control measures. However the two Democrats in the Senate refuse to change the filibuster rules and its holding us back.
The National Rifle Association is always pushing against it. They will not relinquish from the narrative that guns are not saving lives. The Republicans aided by a fickle junk food media are openly encouraging anarchy and disruption in a desperate attempt for the Republicans to win back Congress and the White House. These agitators are calling for Biden to curb crime but will not help him. They want more guns on the street. It makes no sense.

GUN VIOLENCE IS THE NUMBER ONE PROBLEM IN THE UNITED STATES.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are married. They got married in Las Vegas. This is Jen's fourth marriage and Ben's second.
Affleck was previously married to Jennifer Garner and Jen was previously married to Marc Anthony. Affleck has three children with Garner and Lopez has two with Anthony.
They had a relationship over 20 years ago and almost gotten married. They ended up going their separate ways soon after. There were allegations of Affleck cheating on her.
Also Jen is known as Jennifer Lynn Affleck. As an entertainer, dancer, singer, media personality, model, businesswoman, she carries Jennifer Lopez or J-Lo naming.
Bennifer is back.
They did not have the fancy wedding that most celebs usually have. They registered with the Clark County records amd had officially signed off as legally married. On top of that, their actual wedding was small, quick and simple.
According to Lopez, Affleck's discomfort with the media scrutiny was one reason for their split and, years later, she described it as her "first real heartbreak": "I think different time, different thing, who knows what could've happened but there was a genuine love there." Both during the relationship and in the months after the break-up, Affleck characterized some of the media commentary as rooted in racism, classism and sexism: "We were thought of as two different kinds of people." In subsequent years, he pushed back against the "curious notion" that he should view the relationship as a mistake, and reflected on the prevailing tabloid culture at the time "where it's about one person and everybody focuses on them." Affleck acknowledged that "there were ways I did contribute to it", citing the "Jenny from the Block" music video and a joint promotional interview for Gigli. He said neither of them "anticipated" the degree of attention they would receive: "I think Jen and I made a mistake in that we fell in love, we were excited and maybe too accessible."
Affleck and Lopez remained in contact in the years after their breakup and spoke highly of each other in public. They began dating again in April 2021, 20 years after they first met, with Lopez publicly confirming their rekindled romance that July. Lopez confirmed her second engagement to Affleck in April 2022. They were married in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.
I want to not jump to conclusions and I seen the social media outrage of a character snubbing two Black girls at a theme park in Philadelphia.
Rosita, a Muppet character on Sesame Street. The person who dressed as the loveable Muppet was seen giving high fives to spectators along a parade route. As soon as two Black girls go up to the character looking for a hug or high five, the character shook its head and moved on.
It was recorded by their mother and thus shared on social media.
This is absolutely HEARTBREAKING! 💔 These two young Queens did NOT deserve to be blatantly singled out and ignored by this #SesameStreet character! @SesamePlace MUST address their staff's disgusting behavior! 🎥: IG/__jodiii__ pic.twitter.com/07shnhEGvM
The same employee in a 4th video exposing their anti-Black racism to another Black child. All of the Black parents need to file a lawsuit since sesame place is trying to give cover to the anti-Black racist employee!#AntiBlackRacism#BoycottSesamePlacehttps://t.co/nTIAiYEzPd

The employee who performs in the Rosita costume seems to engage in a pattern of deliberately ignoring Black children who tries to engage with the character. This employee needs to be fired TODAY, unless Sesame Place condones this type of anti-Black energy pic.twitter.com/PThOwsnS5F
The mother alleges that the character ignored her daughters but went on to hug other children waiting in the area.
The video has been viewed more than 315,000 times since being posted on Instagram.
According to the mother who posted the video, she asked Sesame Place employees if she could see a supervisor but she says she never did.
Since the video went viral, celebrities, including Kelly Rowland, have reacted on social media.
On Sunday, Sesame Place released a statement saying, "Our brand, our park and our employees stand for inclusivity and equality in all forms. That is what Sesame Place is all about and we do no tolerate any behaviors in our parks that are contrary to that commitment."
"The performer portraying the Rosita character has confirmed that the ‘no’ hand gesture seen several times in the video was not directed to any specific person, rather it was a response to multiple requests from someone in the crowd who asked Rosita to hold their child for a photo which is not permitted," the theme park said. "The Rosita performer did not intentionally ignore the girls and is devastated about the misunderstanding."
The park also says it has reached out to the family, apologized and invited them for a special meet-and-greet opportunity with the park characters.
"We apologize to these guests for not delivering the experience they expected and we commit to do our best to earn their and all guests' visit and support."
The mother reacted to Sesame Place's statement on social media, alleging that she's had no communication with the theme park since trying to confirm a time to speak.
She also says she believes the statement was released to save their appearance and reputation.
"The character could've just waved to everyone or just kept walking, but to blatantly look at my kids and say no! … He looked at them and said no!! So embarrassing and hurtful. I will repost this video everyday until the situation is handled."
The widow of far right extremist Rush Limbaugh is trying to rid herself of that noise. She is trying to sell the old fart's mansion in West Palm Beach, Florida. She may of inherited his ill-gotten fortune. Disgraceful agitator left a legacy of divisiveness and extremism.
Washed Up 45 honored him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
The old fart died in 2021 of cancer.
He died knowing a Democrat is now the President of the United States.

The 2.7-acre waterfront compound, owned by a trust tied to the talk show host’s widow Kathryn Adams, is being quietly shopped for $150 million to $175 million, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
The Limbaugh home sits on an island in West Palm Beach.
Located on exclusive North Ocean Boulevard, the property reportedly boasts 250 feet of ocean beach access and features multiple structures, including a flamboyant 24,000-square-foot house.
The program that began 33 years ago on national syndication with only 56 radio stations grew to be the most listened-to radio show in the United States, airing on more than 600 stations, according to the show’s website. Up to 27 million people tuned in on a weekly basis and Limbaugh has lovingly referred to his passionate fan base as "Dittoheads," as they would often say "ditto" when agreeing with the iconic radio host.
