The U.S. Justice Department indicted Nebraska Republican for lying to federal authorities.
Rep. Karen Fortenberry (R-NE) was indicted Tuesday for allegedly lying to investigators who were looking into foreign donations to his congressional campaign.
Fortenberry, who represents Nebraska's 1st Congressional District, was charged with one count of scheming to falsify and conceal material facts and two counts of making false statements to federal investigators, according to the US Attorney's Office for the Central District of California.
Gilbert Chagoury, a billionaire from Nigeria, made illegal contributions to Fortenberry campaigns, as well as several other GOP congressional races from 2012 to 2016.
Altogether, Chagoury's contributed $180,000 to U.S. election campaigns, which violated federal law. Of that, $30,200 went to Fortenberry's campaign in 2016 through a group in California.
Fortenberry earlier said he expected to be indicted, releasing a recorded statement Tuesday on YouTube in which he denied the allegations and said he was unaware of the foreign contributions.
Claiming he felt "personally betrayed," Fortenberry said of the FBI agents: "I let them into my house. I answered their questions. Later we went back and answered further questions. I told them what I knew and understood."
"We will fight these charges. I did not lie to them," Fortenberry continued in the video, which was recorded in his pickup truck and included his wife and dog. "This is wrong on so many levels."
If convicted of making a false statement to the FBI, Fortenberry could face up to five years in federal time out. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Fortenberry also asked his supporters for prayers, adding, "Hopefully this all ends happily for the sake of justice, for the sake of my own integrity, for the sake of the American system."
Fortenberry has represented Nebraska in Congress since 2005.

The House Select Committee investigating the Jan. 6 riots is going to indict the former White House strategist and former Breitbart CEO for contempt of Congress. He will likely be arrested.
The far-right agitator knew it was coming.
The vote was unanimous among the committee's nine members.
"When you think about what we're investigating, a violent attack on the seat of our democracy ... it's shocking to me, shocking that anyone would not do anything in their power to assist in our investigation," said Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS). "It's a shame that Mr. Bannon has put us in this position, but we won't take no for an answer."
"Mr. Bannon will comply with our investigation," he added, "or he will face the consequences."
On Thursday, the agitator refused to show up to a sworn testimony under oath. He literally claimed that he is acting on behalf the former president who claims "executive privilege" to withhold evidence.
Now a criminal referral will head to the House of Representatives where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will have a vote. If the vote is passed, then she will pass it on to the U.S. Attorney for Washington, DC. It's expected that Democrats and five Republicans will vote to indict the far-right agitator.

The matter will be held on Friday.
The agitator's attorneys claim that the former president is currently suing the committee to prevent the release of documents in regards to the insurrection.
The agitator's arguments are flimsy at best. He has been out of the White House since 2017.
The former president is looking forward to fighting this all the way to the Supreme Court. But as of right now, the federal courts rule that a sitting president does have full authority of the executive privilege.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
He will face up to a year in federal time out and $100,000 fine.

Tonight is the premiere of the new hip-hop drama Queens. It features Eve Jeffries-Cooper, Brandy Norwood, Naturi Naughton, Nadine Velazquez, Taylor Sele and Pepi Sonuga.
The series is produced by ABC Signature Productions, a division of The Walt Disney Company.
The executive producers of the series is Zahir McGhee, Sabrina Wind and Tim Story.
Filming took place in Atlanta, Georgia and Jacksonville, Florida.
The story talks about four women who were known as the Nasty Bitches. They turned the hip-hop world upside down and achieved legendary status. The group disbanded after a fallout. The four women are now in their forties, unworldly and largely estranged. But a moment for the group to reunite will be the challenge for the women.
A highly anticipated hip-hop drama Queens is on ABC.
Brandy stars as Xplicit Lyrics (Naomi). She is the lead singer of the group who is trying to build a relationship with her daughter while trying to regain her old persona back.
Naturi Naughton stars as Da Thrill (Jill). She is the founding member of the group. They were high school best friends who tasted the rock star life. They ended up breaking up and she became a devout Catholic living in Montana. Jill has a past that she kept secret from the band and her family.
Eve stars as Professor Sex (Brianna). She used to rap about money, sex and the glamorous life. Now she a mother of five who is trying to raise her children. She put the Nasty Bitches aside. Brianna is now juggling with family and her music.
Pepi Sonuga stars as Lil Muffin (Lauren Rice). A young woman from Atlanta who had a colorful relationship with the group. She was the breakout star who found the life was stressful. Now she is trying to regain the faith of sisterhood.
Taylor Sele stars as Eric Jones. He is the manager of the group. He got the Nasty Bitches global status. A hustler of Queens, New York, Eric is always looking forward to scoring the next bag. A playboy who knows how to get the money.
Tonight is the debut of the series. Queens will be on Tuesday nights at 10:00pm on ABC. It will be streaming on Hulu, Disney+ and CTV the next day.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) continues his feud with the two Karens in the Democratic senate.

Despite the photos together, Sanders and Sen. Karen Manchin (D-WV) are not friends. Sanders, Manchin along with Sen. Karen Sinema (D-AZ) have been feuding with one another over how to get the Build Back Better agenda rolling.
We are working to guarantee that we pass the President’s entire agenda — that means both the popular Build Back Better Act and the infrastructure bill.
Progressives are getting angry at Manchin and Sinema for stalling the agenda. They want voting rights passed, they want the George Floyd Policing bill passed. They want the infrastructure bill passed with all the elements not any cuts or sacrifices.
The West Virginia senator has already signalled he wants to strip out the necessary child car and clean energy pieces of the infrastructure bill. That riled up Sanders and he wrote an op-ed in the Charleston Gazette-Mail, the largest newspaper in West Virginia. He said that he laid out the stakes for the legislation and said that passage of Biden's agenda is essential to the American people.
"The reconciliation bill is being opposed by every Republican in Congress as well as the drug companies, the insurance companies, the fossil fuel industry and the billionaire class," Sanders wrote. "They want to maintain the status quo in which the very rich get richer while the ordinary Americans continue to struggle to make ends meet."
The West Virginia senator did not like the remarks. So he fired off a tweet criticizing Sanders and the House Progressive Caucus chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA).
"This isn't the first time an out-of-stater has tried to tell West Virginians what is best for them despite having no relationship with our state. Congress should proceed with caution on any additional spending and I will not vote for a reckless expansion of government programs. No op-ed from a self-declared Independent socialist is going to change that."
Democrats in Arizona want someone else to represent their state.
The Build Back Better plan is well loved among Democrats and some Republicans. But Manchin and Sinema as well as the 50 Karens in the Republican senate are slowing down progress. Biden can't get things done despite having the slim majority.
Sinema also faced heat as well. She left Washington to return to Phoenix for a private fundraiser. Then it was reported she traveled to Europe to do a donor conference with lobbyists.
When elected in 2018, the progressives thought they broke ground. They elected the first woman, first openly bisexual and first influencer to the Senate. She defeated Karen McSally in the fight for Jeff Flake's seat. Sinema's been in office since 2019.
McSally was appointed senator anyway and soon she would end up losing to Mark Kelly, the husband of shooting victim, former congresswoman Gabby Giffords.
Progressives saw the writing on the wall when Sinema was voting with Republicans on confirmation of federal judges. They believed that Sinema was betraying their trust. Soon after 2020, when the Democrats got the slim majority, they thought they had enough power to get things done with Vice President Kamala Harris being a tie-breaker.
Nope. Sinema has been standing in the way as well as Manchin. She hasn't publicly stated her position on the Build Back Better package. She has been ducking protesters and the junk food media. She has gotten death threats and threats of primaries from progressives.
Sinema was confronted numerous times by protesters. I have a strong feeling they're going to get violent towards Sinema and Manchin because of their actions. The U.S. Capitol Police are aware of the controversies surrounding these three senators as well as a three handfuls of do-nothings in the House of Representatives.
Congress has record low job approval. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Sen. Karen McConnell (R-KY) and Sen. Karen McCarthy (R-CA) are ranked really badly in most polls.
Biden has a job approval of 48% right now. He is under 50% due to the failure to get his agenda done.
He must use the presidency to demand an ultimatum to the two Democrats and independent senator.
We also must vote in 2022 to gain more seats in states like Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Ohio. It's going to be a challenge due to Washed Up 45 carrying four of the states that an incumbent is running or retiring from. It is doable but not assured. We need to Build Back Better or face another Congress with Republicans holding back America and progress.
If these two Democrats and independent senator hold back Biden, I will spare no hesitation to defeat them as well.

The former president who is considered the worst in modern history is twice impeached, permanently banned on social media, no longer considered the one of the richest billionaire in the world can't stop and won't stop. He lost the electoral college and twice the popular vote.
He joins the Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush in the one term club.
A private citizen who many on the extreme right consider still "Mr. President."
A man who has allowed a hostile regime to interfere with our election twice.
A man who has 29 women accuse him of sexual abuse, a handful of protesters who accuse him of physical violence and dozens of former aides, staffers and lawmakers who seriously believe his impact on the Republican Party has doomed the world.
A man who seriouseriously believes the election was stolen from him due to mail in ballots.
He allowed nearly 600,000 Americans die from his reckless handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
He turned a once thriving economy and fucked it up in less than three years. Had he gotten a hold of the pandemic, he would have easily won the election. Had he stopped riling up his base of extremists, we would have not had an attack on our democracy.
Had he listened to his advisors he wouldn't have been in the mess we are all in.
He can attack Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and anyone he chooses. But remember, folks will go after you.
Colin Powell died on Monday from complications in relation to COVID-19. He was fully vaccinated but his immune system was weakened from other ailments. Biden, Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Hillary Clinton, Mike Pence, Dick Cheney, Al Gore, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and several Republicans offered theri condolences.
Washed Up 45 did not offer much sympathy.
So he pushed out a statement going after Colin Powell.

Anyway, the Republicans in the Congress have not responded to the statement. They're afraid that if they rile the geezer up, they'll lose their reelection bid.
At least he admits his mistakes.
Before he passed away, Powell said that the Republican party needed to "get a grip" and put the country before the party. He said that the insurrection finally done it for him.
"I'm not a fellow of anything right now. I'm just a citizen who has voted Republican, voted Democrat throughout my entire career, and right now I'm just watching my country and not concerned with parties," said Powell. "I do not know how he was able to attract all of these people. They should have known better, but they were so taken by their political standing and how none of them wanted to put themselves at political risk. They would not stand up and tell the truth or stand up and criticize him, or criticize others."
He said that the former president continues to act like he was robbed of the election when he was not.
He said that the former president refuses to acknowledge the reality is that America is not willing to support a man who has no capacity to govern or handle a crisis.
Powell said that "We need people who will speak the truth, who remember that they are here for our fellow citizens. They are here for our country. They are not here simply to be reelected again. Come on guys. You can make it in private life if you don't get reelected, but right now we need you to be real Americans who we can trust, who will tell the truth, who will argue on the basis of facts and not just argue on the basis of what their primary looks like."
He said the Republican Party needs to be the party of inclusion. They do have Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian, Jewish, Muslim, non religious and LGBTQ in the party. However, these individuals are more catered to the views of white nationalists like the former president.
Republicans often use the military, police and veterans as pawns. Whenever Black Lives Matter take a knee or refuse to stand for the national anthem, they claim it attacks the troops. When protesters demand police reform and accountability in city government, they claim it attacks cops. When people criticize war or death of person serving in uniform, they claim it attacks veterans and first responders.
But as soon as that person in uniform runs as a Democrat for higher office, they are targeted as anti-everything but never an American.
Washed Up 45 will die someday and be remembered like Andrew Johnson, Millard Fillmore, Richard Nixon, Herbert Hoover, Zachary Taylor, John Tyler, Warren G. Harding, James Buchanan, Franklin Pierce and George W. Bush.

The former president is threatening to sue the House Committee chairman to stop the investigation of the January 6th. He instigated a mob to attack the U.S. Capitol. He was impeached for it. He was banned from social media for it. He is facing legal ramifications due to the insurrection.
President Joe Biden had allowed the Congress to get a hold of the National Archives. The former president is trying to prevent the Congress from getting a hold of his former advisors.
The former president is claiming that he has "executive privilege" and says that Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) and David Ferriero, the archivist are violating their oath of duty.
The filing is claim that "Congress had decided to harass [the former president] and senior members of his administration (among others) by sending an illegal, unfounded, and over-broad records request to the Archivist of the United States."
He attacks Biden for allowing it to happen.
"This self-describing 'sweeping' request is almost limitless in scope and effectively seeks every presidential record and communication that could tenuously relate to events that occurred on January 6, 2001. The request also seeks records with no reasonable connection to the events of that day. In a political ploy to accommodate his partisan allies, President Biden has refused to assert executive privilege over numerous clearly privileged documents requested by the Committee," the former president said. "The Committee's request amounts to nothing less than a vexatious illegal fishing expedition openly endorsed by Biden and designed to unconstitutionally investigate [the former president] and his administration. Our laws do not permit such an impulsive, egregious action against a former president and his close advisors."
This doesn't really have any legal standing. I believe a former president has executive privilege but not unlimited powers once out of office. It only applies to a president currently in power. The office of a president is not unlimited power but it is endless powers. A former president does not have the power to make decision when he's not in office.
The former president can delay as long as he can, but it's pretty much a cut and dry situation.

Another dumb ass conservative agitator fucked around and now he's finding out. Conservative agitator Karen Prager admitted that he wanted to catch the dangerous disease. He was intentionally trying to contract "the entire time."
Broadcasting from his home, the agitator said he "at no point was I in danger of hospitalization."
"I have received monoclonal antibodies, that's Regeneron. I have, of course, for years -- a year and a half, not years --- ben taking hydroxychloroquine from the beginning, with zinc. I've taken z-pack, azithromycin, as the Zelenko protocol would have it. I have taken ivermectin."
You can get a free coronavirus vaccine. Why spend thousands of dollars for treatment the FDA said isn't very safe to begin with?
Prager added, "I have done what a person should do if one is not going to get vaccinated," he added, claiming he has not been vaccinated and that he attempted to gain "natural immunity," by contracting the virus -- a move the CDC has said is far less effective than gaining a level of immunity from available vaccines.
Prager said that he wanted to get the coronavirus. He said that he literally engage with individuals without proper precautions.
"Hence, so I have engaged with strangers, constantly hugging them, taking photos with them knowing that I was making myself very susceptible to getting COVID. Which is, indeed, as bizarre as it sounded, what I wanted, in the hope I would achieve natural immunity and be taken care of by therapeutics."

Many of these idiots who refuse to get vaccinated are putting others at risk.
Of course, there's folks who are fully vaccinated but end up getting the coronavirus. As with vaccines, nothing is 100%. The vaccines are capable of preventing the coronavirus. At best, it's a 94% prevention rate which means 1 out of 500 could be infected even if they're vaccinated.
President Joe Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.
But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war.
With this pandemic mostly affecting states where Republican governors are, we may have to return to wearing facial protection and cutting back services to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about your business, your performances, your personal finances and travel. It doesn't care about the funerals, the birthday parties, the weddings, the vacations, the events and your graduations. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.
Death does happen to at least 40% of those who are affected by COVID-19.
If you're not vaccinated, your chances of death increases to 48%.

Former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe is hoping voters turnout for him in a competitive election for governor. Going against a Karen who was endorsed by Washed Up 45, McAuliffe is trying to compare the guy to the former president.
Only in Virginia, there is one term for a governor. However, a former governor could run again.
Virginia went to Joe Biden by 10 points. The state is trending more Democratic. Biden's job approval is down in the state but Democrats support him over 94%.
The Republican is trying to distance himself from Washed Up 45. He saw how Scary Larry operated.
But Democrats are starting to feel concern about the Build Back Agenda. President Joe Biden's agenda is being stalled by the 50 Karens and two Democrats. The neighboring state's senator and an Arizona senator are stalling the agenda and frustrating Bidena nd Democrats.
"We need Democrats to step up, get energized and bring this one home for us," he implored the audience in Henrico County. "People are counting on you."
Although the Democratic gubernatorial nominee has been running against Republican Karen Youngkin for the better part of four months, tying him to Washed Up 45 and lambasting him for opposing a series of measures to combat the coronavirus, one of his most pressing concerns in the closing days of the 2021 campaign is apathy and fatigue among his own supporters.
And on Friday night in suburban Richmond, those fears were on the minds of many.
"The excitement is not there," said Jim Gillespie, a 71-year-old retired mental health professional who attended the rally with his wife, Janis. "I don't know if people are going to come out in the numbers they did last time."
"I am worried about it," said Janis, a 68-year-old retired teacher. "I think there was so much passion for the presidential race, we just felt so invigorated. ... And I just don't feel like that right now."
McAuliffe has tried to rally Democrats around the idea that all the energy they brought to defeating Washed Up 45 in 2020 -- the Republican President lost Virginia by 10 points -- is needed to defeat Youngkin.
"This race is about the next chapter of Virginia and our country," McAuliffe said in a nod to this race being a guide to Democrats in post Washed Up 45. "Glenn Youngkin has spent this entire campaign trying to be a Donald Trump wannabee."
But connecting those dots has been difficult for some voters, as evidenced by the fact that when Democratic lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Hala Ayala told the audience that this election was "truly the most important election in our lifetimes," there were audible groans among the assembled Democrats who heard the same less than a year ago.
"Virginia has an election every single year and everybody put so much effort into the presidential that I think people are tired," said Ginny Bonner, a retiree from Henrico County. "We had every single year, all year long, we have political commercials and ads. We don't ever have a break."
To get the kind of engagement he needs, McAuliffe -- the consummate political insider who has long operated in the uppermost echelon of Democratic politics -- has called on the party's heavyweights to drive turnout.
"Today, Virginia, I am asking you to vote for Terry McAuliffe and the Democrats on the ballot," first lady Jill Biden said. "It takes all of us coming together, doing our part, today and tomorrow and every day until Terry McAuliffe wins on November 2. We can do this, Virginia."
The first lady is just the beginning, however. On Sunday, top Georgia Democrats Stacey Abrams and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will rally with McAuliffe and other Virginia Democrats in Norfolk, Richmond and Northern Virginia, key areas for the party's turnout operation. And former President Barack Obama will travel to the commonwealth on October 23 to rally voters in Richmond.
All of this is squarely aimed at boosting Democratic turnout in a race that seems to have passed some of the party's voters by, with a Democratic operative working in Virginia telling CNN recently that "if people don't wake up, we are in trouble."
Democrats in Virginia, aware of the enthusiasm issues, are hopeful that Republicans, too, are disengaged, meaning Virginia's natural blue tilt will prevail in November.
Uvonda Cosby, a 53-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, said she is particularly worried about turnout among Black voters.
"In areas where I am from, a lot of people don't even know about (the election) even though they got the ballots in the mail," said Cosby. Democrats in Washington, she added, are "not in sync" right now and "a lot of people have given up because the Democrats are not fighting."
As McAuliffe's campaign is leaning on national Democrats to turnout voters, they are also looking towards people like Jennifer Carroll Foy, a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates who is supporting McAuliffe after running against him in the Democratic primary, to activate their supporters and knock on doors across the commonwealth.
That, Carroll Foy argues, it critical to reminding voters that just because Washed Up 45 was defeated in 2020 "we are still feeling all the effects of the decisions his administration made" and are "not in a safe space yet."
"The current climate that we are in makes it difficult, overall, to talk voters and gets them excited," said Carroll Foy, noting that people are economically worn down, with issues like Covid-19 "weighing heavy" on their shoulders.
This possible malaise has given Republicans in Virginia an opening. Although the state has ticked blue in recent years -- Virginia last elected a Republican governor in 2009 and has been carried by Democrats in every presidential election since 2004 -- history is on their side: Since the 1970s, the winner of Virginia's off year gubernatorial election always came from the party in opposition to the White House, except for 2013 when McAuliffe won his first term just a year after Barack Obama won his second term in the White House.
A Fox News poll conducted this month found McAuliffe with a slim 51% lead over Youngkin, who garnered 46%.
Jessica Floyd, the president of American Bridge, an organization that has spent $2 million trying to engage Virginia voters -- particularly suburban woman -- ahead of the November election, said it is incumbent on Democrats to break through that indifference.
"What we've seen over the last four years is exhausting for everyone. But particularly when we see women voters, Democrat, Republican, independent, they're all exhausted," Floyd said. "They want to tune out politics."
Floyd's organization, which began this work shortly after the June 8 primary in Virginia, has particularly focused on how the race hinges on the popularity of Biden's agenda and how it is essential that groups like American Bridge and the McAuliffe campaign tell the story of how Democrats will deliver for them.
"Trump being gone has given people room to breathe, but Trumpism being present (in this race) has made all of us who are making that argument need to continue to make it," she said.
"The same fundamental chaos and threats to our democracy that were so galvanizing to voters during the Trump era, that's all present as is the threats to women in particular ... It's about how do we best do our jobs to make sure that voters connect the dots?"
McAuliffe, however, has been largely unable to tout anything coming out of Congress, with the legislative body largely stalled in their deliberations over how to pass a $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill and a larger social spending bill, with moderates in the Senate arguing the proposed $3.5 trillion price tag is far too big.
The lack of any legislation coming to Biden's desk has left McAuliffe exposed, leaving him to fume at Congress -- "Quit your little chitty chat, do your job and quit the posturing," he told CNN recently -- and stressed how critical passing the two bills would be to success in Virginia.
"It certainly would be helpful," said Rep. Don Beyer, who represents the vote rich Washington, DC, suburbs. "I serve in the institution where (voters have the) lowest confidence. ... So, anything that shows government can work, government can work in a bipartisan fashion, Democrats can govern well, all of that are good messages for Terry."
He added: "I don't think they're existentially essential, but they've got to be helpful."
