A former member of the R&B group Labelle passed away. She was the founding member of the group and a good friend of lead singer Patti Labelle.
Sarah Dash passed away at the age of 76.
Labelle's publicist confirmed her passing to Variety.
Trenton, New Jersey mayor Reed Guscoria paid tribute to the city's native daughter on Facebook writing, "Our resident legend and Trenton's first music ambassador, Sarah Dash, has passed away... Our motto, 'Trenton Makes, the World Takes' was alive and well with Sarah. What Sarah made was beautiful music refined by a lifetime of experience and numerous contributions to the arts and the community. What the world takes is a timeless inspiration of a woman who touched the highest peaks of stardom and never forgot where she came from."
Patti also posted on social media telling the world that the two performed only two days prior to her passing. On Twitter, Labelle said that "Sarah Dash was an awesomely talented, beautiful and loving soul who blessed my life and the lives of so many others in more ways than I can say .... I am heartbroken as I know all of her loved ones and fans are."

According to USA Today, Dash began her singing career in the church with gospel music and formed her first professional group, the Del Capris, with Nona Hendryx in the 1960s. Dash and Hendryx later joined Patti Labelle and Cindy Birdsong to form the Bluebelles. When Birdsong left to join Diana Ross and The Supremes, the trio became Labelle.
The group released the smash single "Lady Marmalade" which hit the No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1975.
Labelle would break up in 1977 and Dash would pursue a solo career that included the release four albums with the singles "Sinner Man" and "Low Down Dirty Rhythm."
Dash worked with Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and sang background vocals on their Steel Wheels album.

It appears that Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau won his reelection. The embattled prime minister easily beat back a conservative. Trudeau's American allies Hillary Clinton and former president Barack Obama endorsed his reelection. However he did not capture the popular vote and did receive the lowest percentage of national popular vote of any winning party in Canadian history.
I have seen my friend @JustinTrudeau show leadership in the fight for accessible child care, protected reproductive rights, and ambitious climate action.
I’m wishing him and our progressive Canadian neighbors the best in Monday's election.
It appears that another candidate endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) failed. Sanders and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) backed Canadian NDP leader Jagmeet Singh. The centre-left leader failed to secure enough parliamentary votes to win the votes.
Trudeau’s Liberal Party a victory in Monday’s parliamentary elections, but his gamble to win a majority of seats failed and nearly mirrored the result of two years ago.
The Liberals won the most seats of any party. The 49-year-old Trudeau channeled the star power of his father, the Liberal icon and late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, when he first won election in 2015 and has led his party to the top finish in two elections since.
Trudeau’s Liberals were leading or elected in 156 seats — one less than they won 2019, and 14 short of the 170 needed for a majority in the House of Commons.
The Conservatives were leading or elected in 121 seats, the same number they won in 2019. The leftist New Democrats were leading or elected in 27, a gain of three seats, while the Quebec-based Bloc Québécois remained unchanged with 32 seats and the Greens were down to two.
“You are sending us back to work with a clear mandate to get Canada through this pandemic,” Trudeau said.
“I hear you when you say you just want to get back to the things you love and not worry about this pandemic or an election.”
Trudeau entered the election leading a stable minority government that wasn’t under threat of being toppled.
The opposition was relentless in accusing Trudeau of calling an unnecessary early vote — two years before the deadline — for his own personal ambition.
“Trudeau lost his gamble to get a majority so I would say this is a bittersweet victory for him,” said Daniel Béland, a political science professor at McGill University in Montreal.
“Basically we are back to square one, as the new minority parliament will look like the previous one. Trudeau and the Liberals saved their skin and will stay in power, but many Canadians who didn’t want this late summer, pandemic election are probably not amused about the whole situation,” he said.
Trudeau bet Canadians didn’t want a Conservative government during a pandemic. Canada is now among the most fully vaccinated countries in the world and Trudeau’s government spent hundreds of billions of dollars to prop up the economy amid lockdowns. Trudeau argued that the Conservatives’ approach, which has been skeptical of lockdowns and vaccine mandates, would be dangerous and says Canadians need a government that follows science.
Trudeau's leadership was criticized heavily but he managed to pull it off.
Conservative leader Erin O’Toole didn’t require his party’s candidates to be vaccinated and would not say how many were unvaccinated. O’Toole described vaccination as a personal health decision, but a growing number of vaccinated Canadians are increasingly upset with those who refuse to get vaccinated.
“The debate on vaccination and Trudeau taking on the anti-vaccination crowd helped the Liberals to salvage a campaign that didn’t start well for the party,” Beland said.
Trudeau supports making vaccines mandatory for Canadians to travel by air or rail, something the Conservatives oppose. And Trudeau has pointed out that Alberta, run by a Conservative provincial government, is in crisis.
Alberta Premier Jason Kenney, an ally of O’Toole, said the province might run out of beds and staff for intensive care units within days. Kenney apologized for the dire situation and is now reluctantly introducing a vaccine passport and imposing a mandatory work-from-home order two months after lifting nearly all restrictions.
“Hubris led Trudeau to call the election. He and the Liberals won the election but lost the prize they were seeking. This is only a great night for the Liberals because two weeks ago it appeared they would lose government outright something they could not fathom before they gambled on an election,” said Nelson Wiseman, a political science professor at the University of Toronto.
Wiseman said the Conservatives were hurt by the situation in Alberta. “The explosion of the pandemic in Alberta in the past 10 days undermined O’Toole’s compliments of the Alberta Conservatives on how they had handled the pandemic and reinforced Trudeau’s argument for mandatory vaccinations,” he said.
A Conservative win would have represented a rebuke of Trudeau against a politician with a fraction of his name recognition. O’Toole, 47, is a military veteran, former lawyer and a member of Parliament for nine years.
“Canadians did not give Mr. Trudeau the majority mandate he wanted,” O’Toole said.
O’Toole said he was more determined than ever to continue but his party might dump him after it dumped the previous leader who failed to beat Trudeau in 2019.
O'Toole advertised himself a year ago as a “true-blue Conservative.” He became Conservative Party leader with a pledge to “take back Canada,” but immediately started working to push the party toward the political center.
O’Toole’s strategy, which included disavowing positions held dear by his party’s base on issues such as climate change, guns and balanced budgets, was designed to appeal to a broader cross section of voters in a country that tends to be far more liberal than its southern neighbor.
The son of a long-time politician has faced criticism he will say and do anything to get elected.
Whether moderate Canadians believed O’Toole is the progressive conservative he claims to be and whether he alienated traditional Conservatives became central questions of the campaign.
Regina Adshade, a 28-year-old Vancouver software developer, said she was bothered that an election was called early, during a pandemic and with wildfires burning in British Columbia. But it didn’t stop her from voting Liberal because the party represents her values.
“I don’t love there was an election right now but it wasn’t going to change my vote,” she said.
Trudeau’s legacy includes embracing immigration at a time when the U.S. and other countries closed their doors. He also legalized cannabis nationwide and brought in a carbon tax to fight climate change. And he preserved free trade deal with the U.S. and Mexico amid threats by former U.S. President Donald Trump to scrap the agreement.
Trudeau's leadership in the pandemic earned him a third term.
Former U.S. President Barack Obama and ex-Democratic Party nominee Hillary Clinton tweeted support for Trudeau. There wasn’t a Trump endorsement of O’Toole. Conservative campaign co-chair Walied Soliman said there is no alignment whatsoever between O’Toole and Trumpism. Soliman said earlier in the day holding Trudeau to a minority government would be a win for O’Toole.
Liberals governed Canada for 69 years during the 20th century. Pierre Trudeau called for a “just society” and ran the country with a panache not seen before from a Canadian leader. He is responsible for Canada’s version of the bill of rights and is credited with opening the door wide to immigration.
Trudeau’s Liberals dominated in Toronto, Canada’s largest city and one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

Joy-Ann Reid is the No. 1 primetime host in 7pm hour. Her MSNBC show The ReidOut has pulled in over 2.6 million viewers and has surpassed Fox News Primetime and Erin Burnett.
The progressive agitator has been a thorn to the far-right. She is using the same formula that Keith Olbermann used to generate ratings, interest and controversy. Reid has been feuding with some of the personalities over at Fox.

The No. 1 primetime host for the 8pm hour refers to her as the "race lady."
America knows more about Gabby Petito than the thousands of missing people in the country.
Entertainer Nicki Minaj is feuding with her. The entertainer blatantly false story about a cousin's friend was ridiculed by the junk food media. Reid called out the entertainer for spreading bullshit. Nicki called her Uncle Tomiana for doing it.
She has often riled up the far-right over the fact that she's very clear about her thoughts and opinions of America right now. Since Washed Up 45 left the White House, the tensions have increased.
Republicans continue to rewrite the history. They believe they had no role in the insurrection. They're worked up over transgender children playing sports. They are worked up over women making decisions with their bodies. They are worked up over critical race theory. They are worked up over migrants coming to the United States from the southern border. They are worked up over wearing masks in public. They are worked up over politicians telling them to get vaccinated. They are worked up over the very same culture wars that led to the election victory of Washed Up 45.

Reid has been very critical of the junk food media and its coverage of Gaby Petitio. The feds confirm that the body of Petito was discovered at Grand Teton National Party in Wyoming.
Now her fiance is under the feds radar and they are seeking information on his whereabouts.

Reid has called it out and used the term that many like myself used whenever the junk food media obsesses with missing attractive well-off white women. It's called Missing White Women Syndrome.
It was term coined by the late Gwen Ifill and I can claim credit for being one of the firsts to edit the term on Wikipedia back in 2004. I remember doing it around the time of Natalee Holloway. Her disappearance in Aruba became non-stop coverage on Fox, CNN and MSNBC. It gave birth to the world most annoying court room agitator, Nancy Grace.
It is known fact that the junk food media covered wall-to-wall coverage of missing white women. Like most of us, we love to see a happy ending to a missing person case. But when it comes to a white woman, it's always leading Republicans to draft stupid laws based of the deaths of them. Not all laws are bad, but usually they're named after white people.
Congress can't even get John Lewis Voting Rights and the George Floyd Policing Reform act passed.
Reid has said the quiet part out loud and it's driven the far-right nuts.
“The way this story captivated the nation,” Reid told her viewers, “has many wondering why not the same media attention when people of color go missing? Well, the answer actually has a name: Missing White Woman Syndrome, the term coined by the late and great Gwen Ifill to describe the media and public fascination with missing white women like Laci Peterson or Natalee Holloway while ignoring cases involving of people of color.”
While noting the inconsistencies in the media’s coverage of Americans gone missing, Reid acknowledged the sadness of the Petito case. “It goes without saying that no family should ever endure that type of pain,” she said, “and the Petito family certainly deserves answers and justice.”
Derrica Wilson of the Black and Missing Foundation and Lynette Grey Bull of Not Our Native Daughters Foundation. They pointed out a case of a missing 24-year-old young Black man who disappeared after a car crash in Arizona in June. His case is only now starting to get national media attention.
As previously reported, Daniel Robinson was last seen driving away from his job site in the Buckeye, Arizona desert on June 23. His father, David Robinson, has been organizing search parties, launched a website, and he even hired a private investigator after he felt law enforcement authorities weren’t providing much help. Their family has set up a GoFundMe to continue their search for Daniel.
Reid noted that she had not heard of Daniel Robinson’s case until a friend shared the information with her.

“It is definitely the issue,” said Wilson. “And we have been sounding the alarm for nearly 14 years because of this. When it comes to missing persons of color, men, women and children, our cases are not taken seriously, and no one is looking for us if we were to go missing.”
Reid asked guest Grey Bull why she feels missing indigenous women don’t get media coverage, and she replied, “One of the main factors and one of the key factors that a lot of people don’t want to talk about is that it’s racism. It’s systemic racism. We’re still fighting oppression in our tribal communities. We are still facing inequality across the board, whether it comes to our community, housing, jobs.”
“I mean, you can pick any topic in any country and have an issue there,” said Grey Bull. “So, it’s no different when it comes to missing, murdered indigenous women and girls.”

The images of four LAPD officers beating Rodney King touched the nation.
The man who filmed the Los Angeles Police Department officers brutally beat Rodney King passed away from complications from the coronavirus. His video had become evidence for the trial against four officers. When the officers appealed for their trial to be held in conservative Simi Valley, the jury found them not guilty of the most severe charges. That decision sparked the Los Angeles riots in 1992.
It became a six night affair when the Black and Brown residents took revenge on the city, the police and the Korean grocers who profiled Blacks. The shooting to Latasha Harlins by Soon Ja Du and the systematic racism that plagued the city's police had led to the unrest.
He didn't want to get vaccinated. So it seems like he's paid the price for not getting vaccinated.
George Holliday, 61, died Sunday at a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been for more than a month, according to Robert Wollenweber, a longtime friend and former coworker. Holliday was not vaccinated and was on a ventilator in recent days after contracting pneumonia, Wollenweber said.
Holliday was awakened by a traffic stop outside his San Fernando Valley home on the night of March 3, 1991. He went outside to film it with his new video camera, catching the Los Angeles officers punching, kicking and using a stun gun on King, even after he was on the ground.
A year later, Holliday’s out-of-focus footage — about 9 minutes worth — was a key piece of evidence at the four officers’ criminal trial for assault and excessive use of force.
When a jury acquitted all the officers on April 29, 1992, the city erupted in widespread violence. Hundreds of businesses were looted and destroyed over several days. Entire blocks of homes and stores went up in flames. More than 60 people died by shootings or other violence, mostly in South Los Angeles.
The uprising seemed to catch the rest of the nation by surprise, but longtime residents said tensions were building in South LA for years and the King verdict was just the tipping point.
On the third day of the riots, King went on TV to plead for calm, asking in a trembling voice, “Can we all get along?”
King sued Los Angeles over the beating and was awarded $3.8 million in 1994, but he told The Associated Press in 2012 that he lost most of that money to bad investments. King drowned in his backyard swimming pool on June 17, 2012, at age 47.
Holliday’s death was first reported by TMZ.com.
Rodney King sued the city of Los Angeles and was awarded $3.2 million. He would write a book and demand calls for police reform. He died in 2012.
Holliday put the Sony camcorder he used to record the beating up for auction last July, with bidding starting at $225,000. It was unclear if it ever sold.
Holliday told the New York Times last year that he was still working as a plumber and never profited from the video.
He said he had purchased the camera about a month earlier and he grabbed it instinctively when he was awakened by noise outside his window.
“You know how it is when you have a new piece of technology,” he told the Times. “You film anything and everything.”
Holliday said in 2017 that he was working on a documentary about his role in the King case, but it was unclear if anything became of that project.
Of course, there's folks who are fully vaccinated but end up getting the coronavirus. As with vaccines, nothing is 100%. The vaccines are capable of preventing the coronavirus. At best, it's a 94% prevention rate which means 1 out of 500 could be infected even if they're vaccinated.
President Joe Biden had hopes that Americans would take this shit seriously. Unfortunately, Republicans so fucking eager to return to power will keep Americans fixated on the culture wars. Now vaccinations are part of this culture war.
But those fighting the culture war by not vaccinating, not wearing face mask in public, not following protocols, and deliberately ignoring federal and international rules when traveling are going to be the first casualties of the war.
Holliday's footage change the world. It opened the door to police corruption and racial profiling.
With this pandemic mostly affecting states where Republican governors are, we may have to return to wearing facial protection and cutting back services to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The coronavirus doesn't care about your age, race, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion, politics, economic or social standings. It doesn't care about your business, your performances, your personal finances and travel. It doesn't care about the funerals, the birthday parties, the weddings, the vacations, the events and your graduations. It doesn't care about anything. It's a living organism that causes mild symptoms that include: fever, sore throats, chills, respiratory issues, loss of taste or smell and other unknown symptoms. If you have a weak immune system or health issues, your risk increases.

The culture wars here in the United States are a part of white nationalism. Migrants leaving the Northern Triangle countries and Haiti are trying to find a better life in the United States.

The image is worth a thousand words. Especially since the images portrays U.S. Customs and Border agents as bounty hunters for slave masters. The image of a border guard on horseback charging at migrants at a camp near Texas has generated outrage from the far-left and the junk food media.
Haitian migrants fleeing the earthquake, the gang violence, the assassination of Jovenel Moïse and the hurricane damages are trying to live in the United States. The folks who oppose it fear it may repress a white population or spread COVID-19.
The migrants are crossing the Rio Grande near Del Rio, Texas. They are some leaving their encampment in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico and swimming to the U.S.
What happened was a border agent on horseback was seen blocking the path of the migrants and one officer unfurling a cord resembling a lariat, which he swung near a migrant's face.
The image shows the border agent threatening the migrants with the cords and it was shared on social media.
The White House immediately condemned the actions.
"I don't think anyone seeing that footage would think it was acceptable or appropriate," said White House press secretary Jen Psaki. "I don't have the full context. I can't imagine what context would make that appropriate."
U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz said the incident was being investigated to make sure that there was not an "unacceptable" response by law enforcement. He said that the officers were operating in a difficult environment, trying to ensure the safety of migrants while searching for potential smugglers.
Department of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said that the incidents will be investigated. He said that the long reins are used by mounted officials to "ensure control of the horse."
Del Rio became the latest in the far-right's mission to distract Americans from their role in insurrection.
The city has become a temporary home for 25,000 migrants. Some are seeking asylum to the United States. Texas governor Karen Abbott is calling for the state law enforcement to start enforcing the border. He literally daring the feds to stop him.

The 78-year old president and the first lady are avid bicycle riders and work out almost everyday.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation have questions for Brian Laundrie and his family. The feds are searching for him.
The finance of Gabby Petito has not appeared in public since the disappearance and the now confirmed death of the young social media darling. Her death has become a part of the junk food media.
The Missing White Woman Syndrome comes full-throttle. The non-stop media coverage of Petito has driven criticism of the cable and local news. Critics say had she been Black, Native American or even poor, the junk food media would not even touch the case or they'll throw criticism at the woman.
"It's about our culture and our society.... We place a priority on whiteness. We place a priority on youth and our expectation of physical beauty," said a criminologist.
The feds search the home while the media is stationed outside.
The feds found a body matching the description of Petito at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.
What happened?
So I want to do a quick take.
Petito and Laundrie launched a travel and hobby blog. They travel across the country in her transit van.
They take pictures and post them on social media. They launch a YouTube page and shared one video of their experiences on the road and their mission to travel from Florida to Oregon.
The two had turmoil during the trip. They were seen arguing in public and witnesses believed there was a safety matter between the two. They were stopped by law enforcement. Laundrie had scratches on his face and back. The law questioned Petito who was in tears and telling the law that she had mild bipolar disorder and OCD. She and Laundrie were told to separate for a brief moment.
Laundrie returns back to Florida in the transit van without Petito.
Her family decides to launch a missing persons case and it led to the junk food media coverage.
Petito, 22, sent her mother, Nichole Schmidt, a text message on August 27, in which she wrote: "Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls," states the search warrant, filed in the Sarasota County Circuit Court on Friday and made public Monday.
According to the document: "The reference to ‘Stan’ was regarding her grandfather, but per the mother, she never calls him ‘Stan.’ The mother was concerned that something was wrong with her daughter."
The text was one of a dozen grounds local law enforcement claimed it had for probable cause to conduct a search warrant at the home of Brian Laundrie, Petito’s fiancé, and his parents in North Port, Florida.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the home on Monday morning in conjunction with local law enforcement. A spokesperson for the FBI’s Tampa Field Office told Fox News their search warrant was still under seal.
Local law enforcement officers were seeking, and received, permission to search a black Western Digital External Hard Drive, the document shows.
According to reporters on the ground, several unmarked law enforcement vehicles descended on the home as officers established it as a "crime scene." Agents took Laundries’ parents, Chris and Roberta, into an unmarked van that was parked at the home before they were led back into the house. Officers could be seen carrying several boxes out of the home and even towing Brian Laundrie’s silver Ford Mustang away.
Meanwhile, a pair of North Port Police Department personnel were seen roughly 40 minutes away going into the home of Brian Laundrie’s sister, Cassie, later on Monday. They remained for approximately 30 minutes before driving away.
