Saquon Barkley: I'm Riding With Trump!

Saquon Barkley and the Trumpster.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is likely going to be at the White House more often. After winning the Super Bowl, Barkley has became an in demand celebrity.

Barkley also became a golfing buddy with the 45th/47th President of the United States. President Donald J. Trump quickly came to the defense of Barkley after photos survived of him looking like a lost sheep at Trump National Bedminster.

Barkley spotted Sunday with the president on Marine One and at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, at a table full of MAGA hats.

“What a nice guy he is,” the president said of his superstar companion. “I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.”

The two later disembarked from the helicopter at the White House, where Barkley shook hands with Trump’s grandson, Theodore Kushner.

Barkley and his Eagles teammates were scheduled to visit the White House on Monday to celebrate their championship.

The needle in a haystack.

Trump rescinded an invitation to the Eagles after they won the Super Bowl in 2018 because several players said they would not attend. In his first term, Trump’s relationship with part of the sports world declined after he criticized athletes who knelt during the national anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality.

Barkley played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions, where he set several school records for his offensive production over three seasons before forgoing his senior year to enter the NFL.

Barkley lives in Malvern, Pennsylvania, with his two children and his fiancée, Anna Congdon, whom he met at Penn State. Barkley is a Christian.

In 2018, the Pennsylvania General Assembly voted to make March 14 a state holiday known as "Saquon Barkley Day". Barkley and his family participated in a parade through his hometown of Coplay, Pennsylvania, that included the Whitehall High School marching band and children from the league where Barkley played youth football.

Also in 2018, Barkley was a featured athlete in the 10th Edition of ESPN The Magazine's The Body Issue.

In 2025, Barkley starred in a Super Bowl commercial for the financial technology company Ramp, in which he is an investor.

It is not confirmed as of yet but his teammate, Jalen Hurts might skip the invite.

It appears Barkley is not using the same political playbook as Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts. When asked last week if he was going to attend the White House ceremony, Hurts said, “ummmm” and nothing else.
