Fox and The Far Right Got Abbott To Consider Pardoning A Murderer!
Texas governor vows to commute killer's sentence.
Being white is a privilege when it comes to guns. You can kill a person, cry about it was self defense and get off with a slap on the wrist.
Culture wars that have nothing to what's really going on in the U.S. in general. Gun violence is the most common problem in the United States. Over 145 people die a day from gun violence.
According to the far right: White shooters are mentally ill. Black shooters are unrepentant criminals. Gay shooters are active groomers. Muslim shooters are terrorists. Hispanics and Asians shooters are illegal immigrants. Almost all mass shooters are registered Democrats because they have liked one thing common to the left. Of course, they often share disinformation by using the "Sam Hyde" meme as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white. They say a white person should "protect" from protesters and use of firearms are justified. They say if a shooter is active military or a veteran who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and use of firearms are justified.
The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox and they force it into national news.
Republicans solutions are more guns, blame others for America's social ills and defect from accepting reality.
A jury has convicted a man who deliberately went to a protest to stir up trouble. He was convicted of murder of a protester in Texas. The District Attorney of Travis County, Texas had enough evidence to prove this was not self defense. The man went to trial, a jury saw the evidence as damning and voted guilty.
Enter the far right and Fox.
Garrett Foster with girlfriend. He was a veteran and was a lawful open carry.
Fox already under the radar for a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems continues to distract Americans from the shitty job the Republicans are doing found some outrage in the decision. They whipped up the far right and it finally made it to Gov. Greg Abbott. He confirms that the Texas commission on parole will quickly take up the issue and he will issue a pardon and commute his sentence.
The victim was attending a Black Lives Matter protest. He was armed as well. I mean in Texas, you can legally carry a firearm in public. But the murderer, a staff sergeant was convicted.
The right claims its the fault of George Soros.

Soros funded progressive DA’s are destroying our justice system.
Daniel Perry’s case is clear cut. He defended his own life when he was threatened.
The Republican governor of Texas needs to step in.
If I were a Republican governor, I would find a way to ban Soros, his… https://t.co/rBNdwDzsJ4

Here is Tucker Carlson last night shaming @GregAbbott_TX for not pardoning Daniel Perry, who was convicted of murder yesterday for shooting a BLM protestor.
Daniel Perry, a then-30-year old United States Army sergeant, had been working his Uber shift when he encountered a protest against police brutality that was blocking the road illegally. Perry originally stopped and honked his car horn at the protesters, but later drove his car into the crowd. Garrett Foster, a 28-year old United States Air Force veteran who was open carrying a Kalashnikov-pattern rifle walked up to Perry and pointed the weapon at Perry. After he walked up to Perry's vehicle, Perry shot and killed him. Perry claimed self-defense and claimed that Foster had pointed his weapon at him, but eyewitnesses contradicted this account.
Perry deliberately was there to cause trouble. He knew they're were protests in Austin.
He was not allowed to be armed as a driver for Uber/Lyft.
Why didn't he go the other or focused on other parts of Austin?
He posted that he was going to shoot protesters if they got in his way. That was clear as day for a jury.
Foster, who had been legally open carrying an AK-47, had walked up to Perry, who shot and killed him. Perry claimed that he had acted in self-defense, but in April 2023, a jury found Perry guilty of murder. He was acquitted of an aggravated assault charge. He is currently awaiting sentencing, and faces between 5 years to life in prison.
Tucker Carlson has did a Bill O'Reilly-esque move. He pressured Greg Abbott to pardon or commute a killer. He made Texas Republicans soft on crime.
The prosecution argued that since Foster had been exercising his right to open carry, there was no justification for Perry shooting him. The prosecution revealed that Perry had made multiple posts and direct messages on social media expressing his desire to shoot Black Lives Matter protesters, writing in messages, "I might have to kill a few people on my way to work, they are rioting outside my apartment complex," and "I might go to Dallas to shoot looters." A friend of Perry's responded to him warning him of instigating protesters, stating, "We went through the same training ... Shooting after creating an event where you have to shoot, is not a good shoot." Perry had expressed his support for violence against protesters on at least three social media posts, suggesting in one post to "shoot center of mass" because "it is a bigger target", and in another stated, "Send [protesters] to Texas we will show them why we say you don’t mess with Texas."
Perry had also stated that someone could shoot protesters and get away with it by claiming self-defense. Perry's defense claimed that Texas's stand-your-ground law protected him legally and that he had feared for his life, after the defense alleged that Foster had pointed his weapon at Perry. The prosecution contended that there was not evidence that Foster had pointed his weapon, and other eyewitnesses contradicted this account by the defense. The prosecution also focused on the fact that Foster's weapon was recovered with its safety on and no bullets in the chamber.
On April 7, 2023, after a week of deliberations, the jury found Perry guilty of murder, but not guilty of aggravated assault, with friends and family of Perry, and Perry himself, breaking down in tears as the guilty verdict was read. Foster's father stated, "We're happy with the verdict. We're very sorry for [Perry's] family as well. There's no winners in this. Just glad it's over." Perry is currently awaiting sentencing, and faces a lengthy bid in the iron college. Abbott after facing outcry from the far right has announced he will pardon this murderer.
Perry was convicted of murder after the jury deliberated for 17 hours in the eight-day trial, according to media accounts.
“I will work as swiftly as Texas law allows regarding the pardon of Sgt. Perry,” Abbott wrote on Twitter.
“Texas has one of the strongest ‘Stand your ground’ laws of self-defense that cannot be nullified by a jury or progressive district attorney," he said. "Additionally, I have already prioritized reining in rogue District Attorneys, and the Texas Legislature is working on laws to achieve that goal."
Jose Garza, the district attorney for Travis County, where the case was tried and where Austin is located, is a Democrat, and has been in office since Jan. 1, 2021.
