The last sitting leader to attend a NRA Convention is Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of The United States. Reagan a survivor of an assassin attack two years prior went to the NRA Convention in Phoenix to get gin up support from angry White gun owners. He would tell them that his administration is a friend to the proud Americans who use their firearms.
Decades later, the former reality television star now the current leader heads to the NRA to encourage angry White gun owners to support him throughout his term.
"Only one candidate in the general election came to speak to you, and that candidate is now the [] of the United States, standing before you," said Trump.
"I have a feeling that in the next election, you're going to be swamped with candidates, but you're not going to be wasting your time. You'll have plenty of those Democrats coming over and you're going to say, 'No, sir. No thank you. No, ma'am.' Perhaps 'ma'am' It may be Pocahontas (Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)), remember that. And she is not big for the NRA, that I can tell you. But you came through for me, and I am going to come through for you.
Trump makes his appearance at the NRA Convention to do a stump speech about how he'll protect the Second Amendment. |
The NRA once again shows its impact on Republicans and Democrats by doing a victory lap.
The defeat of Hillary Clinton is a smack to the face of victims of gun violence.
The Republicans will rollback laws and regulations that allow more firearms in the public.
Barack Obama has been good for propaganda being spread by the NRA, conservative agitators and Republican politicians.
Trump's appearance to the NRA Convention wasn't without controversy. Many of the victims of gun violence protested the event. You couldn't even be allowed to enter the convention because the Secret Service refuses entry of a firearms within the bubble.
