DEBRADICKERSON.COM: Debra Doesn't Live Here Anymore: "Somehow, I've decided that the building is white with mauve trim. Both decidedly past their prime and not scheduled for a touch up anytime soon. Because of its address deep in the heart of ghetto Albany's commercial zone, I've also decided that there's an African hair braiding salon to one side. A Korean nail shop on the other. Safe bet. Both are ubiquitous in the hood. Along with beauty supply shops, bodegas and pizza by the slice. All shabby, all catering to blacks but few owned by us."

as a budding writer I've been monitoring Debra Dickerson books and articles for the last five years. Indeed, a do a pretty extensive case study of her in my still-to-be-completed book on Black women (in general, and Ms Dickerson, Alice Walker, bell hooks et al in particular).
This is the writer who, as you know, talked about the "end of Blackness", who referred to her bi-racial children as "white", and Obama as non-Black (not even Bi-racial!) Since all this I have waited for Ms Dickerson's' downfall. I don't welcome it but I knew it was coming.
A right-wing, so-called "iconoclastic", and certified fruit cake that she is can only be heading one place and that's DOWN! It is hoped, however, that some way down the slippery slope that her children realise they aint "white", and that there aint nothing wrong with possessing African blood!
