Miami, Florida has a new mayor. She is a Democrat. She won in a runoff election against a Republican who had full backing of the president.
Democrats have mayors in Tampa, Orlando, Tallahassee, West Palm Beach, St. Petersburg, Gainesville, Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville.
A place where Republicans dominated for three decades is now going to be served by a moderate Democrat. The city where it rarely gets below 40 degrees. A place where snow happens only once in a generation.
A place where corporations and vacationers go.
A city with a population of 495,000 and a consolidated county of 3.4 million.
Former vice president Kamala Harris lost Miami-Dade County by 8 points. President Donald J. Trump won the county in 2016 and 2024. Former president Joe Biden won it by 2 points.
Florida is far from a Democratic takeover. It has become more Republican thanks to gerrymandering, culture war politics and rapid development. Trump calls the state his new home.
The state is suffering with high inflation, a homeless crisis, a housing crisis, insurance premiums skyrocketing, gun violence, extreme weather events, oversaturation of unnecessary sprawl and the influx of domestic migration. The state is at high potential for catastrophic collapse.
The state is shaped like a penis. The governor is a dick. The president is a dick.
Many Republican are quietly taking dick. Well it's Floridah.
Eileen Higgins, a former Miami-Dade County commissioner is the mayor-elect. She will take office in January. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, raised in Albuquerque and moved to Miami in the 2000s.
Before entering electoral politics, Higgins worked in international development and consulting with a focus on transportation and infrastructure projects in Latin America. In 2006, she became Country Director of the Peace Corps in Belize. After holding this position, Higgins became a foreign service officer for the U.S. Department of State. As a foreign service officer, her work was focused on matters in Mexico as well as in economic development areas of South Africa. After returning to the United States following her work abroad, Higgins worked in private sector marketing, working for such brands as Pfizer and Jose Cuervo.
Higgins, 61, will be the first woman to lead the city of Miami. She spoke frequently in the Hispanic-majority city about Trump’s immigration crackdown, saying she has heard of many people in Miami who were worried about family members being detained. She campaigned as a proud Democrat despite the race being officially nonpartisan and beat Trump-backed candidate Emilio Gonzalez, a former city manager, who said he called Higgins to congratulate her.
Emillio Gonzales took a hard fall.
“We are facing rhetoric from elected officials that is so dehumanizing and cruel, especially against immigrant populations,” Higgins told The Associated Press after her victory speech. “The residents of Miami were ready to be done with that.”
Incumbent mayor Francis Suarez was term-limited and could not run for a third term. Miami holds runoffs if no mayoral candidate receives a majority of the vote. Higgins and Gonzalez advanced to the runoff. Higgins would go on to defeat Gonzalez in the runoff, making her the first Democrat to be elected mayor since 1997, and the first woman elected to lead Miami in the city's history. The 2025 election marked the first Miami mayoral election to advance to a runoff since 2001.
With nearly all votes counted Tuesday, Higgins led the Republican by about 19 percentage points.
The local race is not predictive of what may happen at the polls next year. But it drew attention from the two major national political parties and their leaders. The victory provides Democrats with some momentum heading into a high-stakes midterm election when the GOP is looking to keep its grip in Florida, including in a Hispanic-majority district in Miami-Dade County. The area has shifted increasingly rightward politically in recent years, and the city may become the home of Trump’s presidential library.
“Tonight’s result is yet another warning sign to Republicans that voters are fed up with their out-of-touch agenda that is raising costs,” said Ken Martin, the chair of the Democratic National Committee, in a statement.
Some nationally recognized Democrats supported Higgins, including former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel traveled to Miami on Sunday and Monday to rally voters for the Democrat who served as a Miami-Dade county commissioner for seven years.
Higgins, who speaks Spanish, represented a district that leans conservative and includes the Cuban neighborhood of Little Havana. When she first entered politics in 2018, she chose to present herself to voters as “La Gringa,” a term Spanish speakers use for white Americans, because many people did not known how to pronounce her name.
“It just helps people understand who I am, and you know what? I am a ‘gringa,’ so, what am I going to do, deny it?” she told the AP.
Republicans’ anxiety grows
Republicans in Florida have found strong support from voters with heritage from Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, because they likened some members of the Democratic party’s progressive wing with politicians from the governments they fled. Trump and other GOP members have tapped into those sentiments over the past eight years.
However, some local Republicans are growing increasingly frustrated since November’s elections when Democrats scored wins in New Jersey and Virginia, where both winning gubernatorial candidates performed strongly with nonwhite voters.
The results from those races were perceived as a reflection of concerns over rising prices and the Trump administration’s aggressive immigration policies.
Trump and Ron DeSantis. These morons thought culture wars would help Republicans win. Their failure to take on real issues could be their undoing.
U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a Republican whose district is being targeted by Democrats and includes the city of Miami, called the elections elsewhere a “wake-up call.” She said Hispanics also want a secure border and a healthy economy but some relief for “those who have been here for years and do not have a criminal record.”
“The Hispanic vote is not guaranteed,” Salazar said in a video posted on X last month. “Hispanics married President Trump, but they are only dating the GOP.”
Salazar called for a full scale invasion of Venezuela and a forced seizure of its resources.
David Jolly, who is running to represent Democrats in the Florida governor’s race next year, said the mayoral election was good news for Democrats in what used to be a battleground state.
Jolly was a Republican when he was elected as a U.S. Representative in a special election in 2014.
He backed the president in his first term but turned sour on him in 2019. He ended his association with Republicans and became an independent. He went to MSNBC (known as MS NOW) and became a prominent voice of anti-Trump Republicans. Trump's toxic politics made Jolly eventually become a moderate Democrat and now this win may give him momentum.
Republicans running for governor are Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) and Paul Renner.
“Change is here. It’s sweeping the nation, and it’s sweeping Florida,” Jolly said.
Miami mayor-elect gains national platform
The mayoral position in Miami is more ceremonial, but Higgins promised to execute it like a full-time job.
The city is part of Miami-Dade County, which Trump flipped last year, a dramatic improvement from his 30 percentage point loss to Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.
As Florida’s second-largest city, Miami is considered the gateway to Latin America and attracts millions of tourists. Its global prominence gives Higgins a significant stage as mayor.
Her pitch to voters included finding city-owned land that could be turned into affordable housing and cutting unnecessary spending.
Remember this doofus is thinking about a 2028 run.
Israel first over America first.
Republicans and Democrats are having a civil war. It is a feud between the Republicans and Democrats who want to focus on American issues over the Republican and Democrats who want to focus on protecting Israel.
President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) and the pro Israeli members of Congress are going to find out.
It appears the ones who are protecting Israel are losing.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis joins Texas governor Greg Abbott in pushing culture wars and shock issues to keep the status quo going.
They may be pleased with the rapid growth in their states, but the reality will soon hit the new residents. Energy prices, food prices increasing, rising insurance premiums, extreme weather, nanny state policies and lack of direction has made living in these states unbearable.
The Muslim Brotherhood and Council on American-Islamic Relations are now registered in Florida as designated terrorists groups.
Okay, what has the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR done to Floridians and Texans?
Not a damn thing.
But you know who has done things to Americans, it is the Mossad. They literally spy on Americans. They kill people in the United States. With proxies like AIPAC and the ADL, Israeli intelligence steals from the U.S. without any consequences. They have Betar and the Canary Mission who deliberately expose people's names and addresses.
His latest ‘Israel First’ stunt isn’t just unconstitutional — it’s defamatory, reckless, and dripping with political opportunism. Authoritarian cosplay won’t survive judicial scrutiny.
Florida agencies are hereby directed to undertake all lawful measures to prevent unlawful activities by these organizations, including denying privileges or resources to anyone providing material support," DeSantis wrote on X.
The governor's order said the Muslim Brotherhood has long engaged in and supported violence, political assassinations and terror attacks on civilians with the intent of establishing a worldwide Islamic caliphate.
It also said the group, as well as Hamas have active fundraising arms in the United States.
The order said CAIR, which was created to challenge stereotypes against Islam and Muslims, has had individuals associated with it that have been convicted of providing and aspiring to provide material support to foreign terrorist organizations.
In a post on X, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said: "Great news! Thanks for this important Executive Order, Governor. We are ready to support!"
A joint statement by CAIR and its Florida chapter said the DeSantis administration has prioritized serving their interest of the Israeli government over the people of the state.
Florida got bigger issues than Muslims.
"He diverted millions in Florida taxpayer dollars to the Israeli government's bonds. He threatened to shut down every Florida college's Students for Justice in Palestine chapter, only to back off when CAIR sued him in federal court," the statement said. "Like Greg Abbott in Texas, Ron DeSantis is an Israel First politician who wants to smear and silence Americans, especially American Muslims, critical of U.S. support for Israel's war crimes. Governor DeSantis knows full well that CAIR-Florida is an American civil rights organization that has spent decades advancing free speech, religious freedom, and justice for all, including for the Palestinian people. That's precisely why Governor DeSantis is targeting our civil rights group with this unconstitutional and defamatory proclamation.
"We look forward to defeating Governor DeSantis' latest Israel First stunt in a court of law, where facts matter and conspiracy theories have no weight," the groups added. "In the meantime, we encourage all Floridians and all Americans to speak up against this latest attempt to shred the Constitution for the benefit of a foreign government."
Florida's designation is at the state level. It doesn't carry the legal force of a federal Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) listing, which only the U.S. State Department can issue.
In Texas, Muslim and interfaith leaders have demanded that Abott reverse his proclamation regarding CAIR. In a lawsuit against Texas over the governor's declaration, CAIR argued that it violates both the U.S. Constitution and state law.
The order violates its First Amendment rights and due-process protections, CAIR said, arguing that the state overstepped its authority because terrorism designations fall under federal, not state, jurisdiction.
The real threat in the United States is gun violence. The problem in the world is colonialism and white supremacy. Not Muslims, not immigrants and not people of color in government.
Israel is a product of white, Jewish and Christian extremism.
These Israeli operatives are interfering in the United States. DeSantis and Abbott put a foreign country over their respective states. The state of Florida has a homeless crisis as we speak. There are approximately 124,000 Israelis owning property in Florida. They have a large Jewish population in South Florida. Yet, they are allowed to dominate control of the state’s housing market.
Muslim and Black ownership is questioned as a threat in Florida.
To take the eyes off of the president's failure to make things affordable, the New York Post, Fox and Zionist rage baiters focus on an activist joining Zohran Mamdani's transition team. Nearly 30 years ago, Mysonne was convicted of a crime. He served his time and now focuses on social justice.
They were praising Nicki Minaj for speaking at the United Nations with UN Ambassador Michael Waltz speaking on a phony controversy. They are outraged at mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani appointing a former rapper turned activist being a part of his transition team.
The same assholes who allowed a man with such privilege escape accountability from the legal system to be our president again. A man who literally commits crimes against humanity being rewarded a phony "peace prize" from a corrupt football (soccer) association.
A neverending distraction to take the ball away from this president failing to handle the promises of lowering inflation, making things affordable and ending conflicts worldwide.
We are about to engage in conflicts in Iran, Venezuela and Nigeria. We are watching a housing market collapse. We are seeing politicial violence in real time. Gun violence is on pace to increase in 2026. We have folks homeless, hungry, struggling and concerned that our government is spending too much on foreign interests.
The status quo is what drives these rage baiting agitators out.
A person's past is weaponized when they are people of color. When it comes to the elite, we are demonizing them and obsessed with their potential failure.
America, are you sick and tired of this?
We do not know these people personally. Why do we got to have an issue with them?
So Fox and the far right bait ragers are mad that Mysonne is a part of criminal reform.
The core of the argument centers on the double standard of condemning Mysonne, who has a past felony conviction, while simultaneously supporting or defending convicted felon Trump and his MAGAland base supporters like Nicki Minaj.
New York Post writer Emma Bussy. This ish writes propaganda on behalf of Israel and Trump administration. She writes click rage stories.
Minaj is married to a sexual predator who is a felon. Her own brother is a sexual predator and a felon.
Mysonne Linen served seven years for armed robbery. He ended up converting to Islam and has changed his life. He is now an advocate for criminal justice reform and human rights.
His appointment has even a non New Yorker working the beat. Sen. John Fetterman (I-PA) once again proves to be the white Democrat that Republicans love.
The far right's definition of "controversial" comes as Mamdani, who won November’s election on a progressive platform, assembles his transition team.
Mamdani's appointment of Mysonne Linen, 49, was announced in a Nov. 26 Instagram post from Until Freedom, a New York City–based social-justice organization, where Linen is a leader.
Linen is featured in the social media post alongside Tamika Mallory and Angelo Pinto.
"We are proud that Until Freedom leaders have been chosen to serve on Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani’s transition team on committees for public safety and criminal justice respectively," the post reads.
"This is a testament to our decades of work advocating on behalf of Black and Brown communities and our expertise in gun violence prevention, legislative advocacy, and criminal justice reform. We are building something different."
Over the years, Linen has built a public presence as a community activist, frequently posting about anti-violence initiatives and civic engagement, and promoting his involvement with Until Freedom.
Mysonne Linen and Linda Sarsour are often in the Zionist rage machine.
According to past reports, Linen, a Bronx native who was once signed to Def Jam, was convicted of two felony robberies in the late 1990s.
Okay, damn near 30 years ago, Fox decides to dig up a controversy when Mamdani was fucking single digits. Mamandi is in his early 30s. He grew up learning how to show empathy.
Fox being a shitshow of tabloid news dismisses the rapper's conversion to activism on behalf of ex-felons, the vulnerable and the homeless.
Okay. Let's run with it.
In 1999, a Bronx jury is said to have found him guilty in two armed robberies of taxi drivers, per the New York Daily News.
Prosecutors said Linen was part of a group that robbed cab driver Joseph Exiri on June 8, 1997, striking him with a beer bottle, and later held up cab driver Francisco Monsanto at gunpoint on March 31, 1998, stealing cash and a ring before fleeing.
Both cabbies testified and identified Linen as one of the robbers.
The New York Daily News reported that Linen’s defense argued he had no reason to commit the crimes because he was earning money writing songs for artists such as Lil’ Kim and Mase, and his music was slated to appear on an all-star album featuring LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Q-Tip.
He faced up to 25 years in prison and ultimately served seven years. Linen maintained at the time that he had been falsely accused, per reports.
The Until Freedom website where Linen holds a leadership post, describes the group as "the definitive non-profit organization for community activism, education, and rapid response to tragedies resulting from injustice."
Why don't Rupert Murdoch and his tabloid propaganda network focus on Eric Adams bottoming out? They act like every fucking thing Zohran Mamdani does is a crime.
It states: "We are not asking for a donation, we are asking for your investment; an investment in a movement worthy of the most marginalized people." The appeal is followed by several payment options, including Cash App and Venmo.
🚨 NEW YORK, MEET YOUR NEW “CRIMINAL JUSTICE” ADVISER 🚨
Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani just appointed a convicted armed robber to help shape NYC’s crime and policing policy.
Meet Mysonne Linen. Served 7 years for armed robberies of NYC taxi drivers. Beat one victim with a bottle.… pic.twitter.com/bg2NLHRMjS
Mamdani’s decision to place Linen on committees that shape the city’s public-safety vision prompted backlash. The group Jews Fight Back wrote on X:
"Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani just appointed a convicted armed robber to help shape NYC’s crime and policing policy," calling the move "insane."
Of course, a picture with Nation of Islam emeritus leader Louis Farrakhan.
Ooh, two Muslims posing in a picture.
Farrakhan never called for violence unlike "Jews Fight Back." Miss me with the bullshit.
This is a coordinated op thanks to Zionist rags like The New York Post, tabloid rage bait like Fox, the ADL and Betar. Attacking a Muslim mayor elect and a Muslim activist.
Linen, reiterating a phrase he has used in recent speeches to crisis-intervention groups, also posted again this week on Instagram,"We are building something different."
Fox News Digital has reached out to Mysonne Linen, Until Freedom and Zohran Mamdani’s office for comment.
Henry Cuellar thanks Trump for the pardon but.....
President Donald J. Trump has abused the powers of the presidency. He has pardoned so many criminals. Had a Democratic president done it, Trump and Republicans would go bezerk over it. Trust me, the status quo also runs on the hypocrisy.
The conservative Democrat from South Texas, Henry Cuellar was pardoned by the president this month. Cuellar and his wife were indicted on corruption and bribery.
In early May 2024, Cuellar was indicted on money laundering, bribery and conspiracy charges by a federal grand jury in Houston, Texas; he was alleged to have accepted nearly $600,000 from Azerbaijan and a Mexican commercial bank in order to influence U.S. policy.
His criminal trial had been scheduled to start in April 2026. With the pardon, the federal courts are stalled.
Trump secretly coordinated with Cuellar to switch parties.
With Texas being granted their temporary congressional district map, Republicans are eyeing Cuellar for top defeat. His district which stretches from Brownsville to the suburbs of San Antonio has now been isolated from Corpus Christi to Brownsville.
That places his district as +2 Republican.
Cuellar is on the fence. He may either run as a Democrat or retire. Becoming an independent or Republican isn't on the radar.
Trump blasted Cuellar for “Such a lack of LOYALTY,” suggesting the Republican president might have expected the clemency to bolster the GOP’s narrow House majority heading into the 2026 midterm elections.
Cuellar, in a television interview Sunday after Trump’s social media post, said he was a conservative Democrat willing to work with the administration “to see where we can find common ground.” The congressman said he had prayed for the president and the presidency at church that morning “because if the president succeeds, the country succeeds.”
Citing a fellow Texas politician, the late President Lyndon Johnson, Cuellar said he was an American, Texan and Democrat, in that order. “I think anybody that puts party before their country is doing a disservice to their country,” he told Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Trump noted on his Truth Social platform that the Democratic President Joe Biden’s administration had brought the charges against Cuellar and that the congressman, by running once more as a Democrat, was continuing to work with “the same RADICAL LEFT” that wanted him and his wife in prison — “And probably still do!”
“Such a lack of LOYALTY, something that Texas Voters, and Henry’s daughters, will not like. Oh’ well, next time, no more Mr. Nice guy!” Trump said. Cuellar’s two daughters, Christina and Catherine, had sent Trump a letter in November asking that he pardon their parents.
Trump explained his pardon he announced Wednesday as a matter of stopping a “weaponized” prosecution. Cuellar was an outspoken critic of Biden’s immigration policy, a position that Trump saw as a key alignment with the lawmaker.
KISS and Gloria Gaynor at White House for Kennedy Center honors.
Cuellar said he has good relationships within his party. “I think the general Democrat Caucus and I, we get along. But they know that I’m an independent voice,” he said.
A party switch would have been an unexpected bonus for Republicans after the GOP-run Legislature redrew the state’s congressional districts this year at Trump’s behest. The Texas maneuver started a mid-decade gerrymandering scramble playing out across multiple states. Trump is trying to defend Republicans’ House majority and avoid a repeat of his first term, when Democrats dominated the House midterms and used a new majority to stymie the administration, launch investigations and twice impeach Trump.
Yet Cuellar’s South Texas district, which includes parts of metro San Antonio, was not one of the Democratic districts that Republicans changed substantially, and Cuellar believes he remains well-positioned to win reelection.
Federal authorities had charged Cuellar and his wife with accepting thousands of dollars in exchange for the congressman advancing the interests of an Azerbaijan-controlled energy company and a bank in Mexico. Cuellar was accused of agreeing to influence legislation favorable to Azerbaijan and deliver a pro-Azerbaijan speech on the floor of the U.S. House.
Cuellar has said he his wife were innocent. The couple’s trial had been set to begin in April.
In the Fox interview,, Cuellar insisted that federal authorities tried to entrap him with “a sting operation to try to bribe me, and that failed.”
Cuellar still faces a House Ethics Committee investigation.
Recent party switches.
Jeff Van Drew was elected as a Democrat House member from New Jersey. When Trump was impeached the first time, Van Drew was one of three Democrats to oppose the impeachment. He switched parties in 2019 and has been a Republican ever since.
Justin Amash was elected as a Republican House member from Michigan. When he voted to impeach Trump in 2019, he was targeted for primary defeat.
Kyrsten Sinema was elected as a Democrat in Arizona in 2018. In 2022, she became an independent. She originally started as a Green Party candidate. When she ran for the House she was a center left Democrat. In her senate term she ran as a center right Democrat. She retired in 2024 after facing a primary challenge from future senator Ruben Gallego.
Joe Manchin was elected as a Democrat in 2010 in a West Virginia's special election. He won comfortably in Republican stronghold. In 2024, Manchin decided he was retiring and also became an independent during that decision. Manchin stalled a lot of Presidents Barack Obama, Donald J. Trump and Joe Biden's policies. He faced backlash when he and Sinema opposed raising the minimum wage, extending child tax credits, expanding the Build Back Better law, adding more regulations to the Inflation Reduction Act law and ending cloture (i.e. the filibuster).
Bob Menendez was elected as a Democrat in a special election in 2006. He convicted in a political corruption case in 2024, making him the first sitting member of Congress convicted of conspiracy to act as a foreign agent. He is expected to be pardoned by Trump this month. Menendez became an independent in 2024.
Eric Adams, outgoing mayor of New York City, former governor Andrew Cuomo and Pennsylvania senator John Fetterman are independent. They were elected as Democrats.
During the presidency of Joe Biden, there were five independents who caucus with the Democrats in the Senate.
Love how the president’s attack on Somali Americans became a rally cry for Somali unity against him and the apartheid ethnostate of Israel.
President Donald J. Trump and Israel wanted to punch down on immigrants. Looks like the Somalis are punching back.
Last week in a presser, Trump went after Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and Gov. Tim Walz.
The president called Somali Americans and Somali immigrants garbage. It won praise from the far right agitators and scorn from the community. Some of the Somali Americans who voted for Trump due to former president Joe Biden's hawkish stance on Israel felt betrayed.
“We’re going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. Her friends are garbage,” Trump told the meeting.
“ When they come from hell and they complain and do nothing but bitch, we don’t want them in our country.”
The remarks have drawn widespread condemnation from community leaders, Democratic lawmakers and civil rights organizations.
Y'all voted for this.
Anyway, Somali Americans are hitting back at Trump and Israel for exploiting culture wars to protect the status quo.
Minnesota state Senator Omar Fateh described the president’s comments as both “hurtful” and “disgraceful”.
“It was flat out wrong, calling not only our congresswoman garbage but calling the entire community garbage, saying they’re good for nothing,” Fateh told Al Jazeera.
“It is a community that has been resilient, that has produced so much. We are teachers and doctors and lawyers and even politicians taking part in every part of Minnesota’s economy and the nation’s economy.”
Fateh, who ran a campaign for city mayor this year, accused Trump of engaging in “political theater” to energize his base ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
Yet despite the fear, a defiant response has emerged on social media platforms, particularly TikTok and X.
We have confirmed from HR @Cinnabon she has been fired from her job and removed from this location.
Anti-Somalitic rhetoric will cost you. Her racism and disgusting profanity resulted in her to be unemployed during the holiday season. Do not be like this Karen.

Some users have created AI-generated images that insert Somalis into iconic images from U.S. history, as a humorous way of illustrating their deep roots in the country.
Others have parodied Zionist claims to Palestine by joking that Minnesota was promised to them 3,000 years ago, a pointed reference to the logic used to justify Palestinian dispossession.
Mohammed Eid, a legal analyst at the Minnesota judiciary who moved to the U.S. 11 years ago, expressed pride in the community’s response to the president’s attacks.
The promise of Somalis.
“I’m proud that our community stood up. Trump doesn’t have more rights than we do here. We’re all Americans. In fact, his wife, like many other people who move here, is also an immigrant,” Eid said.
“Many of these jokes Somalis are making online are showing how ridiculous some of the debates in our society are, from having [an] anti-immigration movement in a land where the natives were genocided to the situation in Gaza and Palestine.”
For Faisal Roble, a Somali American and former principal planner for the city of Los Angeles, the social media satire illustrated something distinctly American: an embrace of the First Amendment right to free speech.
“Young Somalis have hybrid identities and have utilized the American aspect of it to defend themselves, to build alliances, to mock people who are targeting and have shown skill and bravery despite the attacks,” Roble said.
“Somalis are a very visible community, who carry their culture with them and practice what America preaches. They live their lives and their values and participate.”
It's gonna be trouble, trouble, trouble. Jasmine Crockett is going to defy the noise. The lawmaker appears with Jamie Foxx, a native Texan.
It's official, the controversial lawmaker is running for U.S. Senate after the U.S. Supreme Court aligned with the state of Texas' gerrymandered congressional map. It was a tough call but she got nothing to lose.
Texas is typically a Republican stronghold. No Democrat from Texas held the U.S. Senate since 1995.
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) knows the risk. She doesn't care. Whether she is a sacrificial goat or not, this Black lawmaker isn't going to be told not to try. The hyperpartisan Supreme Court ruled against civil rights groups. The state at the behest of President Donald J. Trump decided to gerrymander a new congressional map in the middle of the decade to keep the House of Representatives majority in tact for now. The decision has forced Rep. Lloyd Daggett (D-TX) to retire.
Trump pardoning of Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) signals a potential party switch. Cuellar is a pro Israel, anti abortion, pro ICE and votes with Trump about 65% of the time.
Texas population is about to bottom out soon. Thanks to unpredictable weather events, the lack of resources in its eight largest cities, Republican nanny/police state policies and
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is debating whether he should run for reelection or retire. He faces a primary challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) and possibly Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX).
Republicans are infighting over America First or Israel first. Neither Republican is suitable to the America first (i.e. America Only) crowd.
Democrats are infighting too. The Democrats running include, former lawmaker Collin Allred, Texas state representative James Talarico and Crockett expected to enter the race on Monday. Crockett is being told to stand down. However, she is saying whether or not Texas needs a nominee and a health competition is worth it.
When asked if a Crockett run for Senate will damage Talarico's or Allred's campaigns more, Matt Angle, director of the Lone Star Project, a Democratic PAC, told CBS News Texas, "I don't know if it hurts one more than the other. I think that since Colin ran last time and was the nominee, that anybody challenging that kind of takes away a vote that he had claimed in the past."
Angle continued, "But that doesn't mean that he couldn't prevail in this primary. I think it's going to be very competitive. They've got to think in terms of two rounds. There will be a runoff. How do I get to the runoff? And then, what do I do in order to get to the runoff? Then, what do I do in order to get the support of whoever doesn't make the runoff? It becomes three-dimensional chess at this point in a challenger for all three of them."
Crockett told CBS News Texas last month that for her to run for the Senate, she would need polling results showing that she could win a general election next year by expanding the electorate. Crockett has made headlines by clashing with President Trump.
When asked if she will energize Republicans in addition to Democrats, Angle said, "She could. I think that that's the real challenge is for her to be able to increase turnout for not just her race, but for other Democrats without motivating Republicans. I've been doing politics in Texas a long time. Republicans don't have much to brag about at any level. I'm not sure that being upset with one or two Democrats is going to overcome the fact that they're profoundly disappointed with Republican leadership that's failing them."
Vinny Minchillo, a Republican consultant in North Texas, told CBS News Texas that he agrees with those who believe Crockett cannot win a general election in the Lone Star State.
"I think she's a real polarizing candidate," Minchillo said. "She's fun to watch, in which she goes crazy on the news. It's always interesting to watch. But I just don't think that's going to work in a general election. I think she is too extreme and too far left for even Texas Democrats."
He believes Crockett will energize Republicans, just like Democrats, if she runs for the Senate.
"100%. I think she'll help turn out Republicans because Republicans are not going to be comfortable with that," said Minchillo.
Michillo said he believes the Republican primary is headed for a runoff but doesn't know for sure which two candidates will make the runoff in late May.
"We got a long way to go. This has already been a nasty race to begin with," Minchillo said. "Cornyn came out of the gate saying that he was going to take Paxton to the woodshed and put in words stronger than that. This has been pretty nasty. Cornyn has spent the summer pounding on Paxton. He's moved numbers in his favor. Now, we're seeing a little bit of back and forth. So, this is going to be really rough. The Cornyn folks have actually opened a second front. They're starting to beat on Wesley Hunt. So that's going to be tough. I don't see a path to be honest for Hunt. I just don't think he can beat either Cornyn or Paxton. Maybe a better chance to beat Cornyn, but I just don't think he can get there unless he's got a lot of money."
Minchillo predicts that, between all six candidates and their campaigns and the third-party groups that support them for both the primary, primary runoff, and general election, this race could cost at least $750 million.
New maps' effect on candidates
The Supreme Court's ruling will likely spark some surprising last-minute filings for congressional races in North Texas.
In the newly drawn 30th Congressional District, in Dallas and Tarrant Counties, where African Americans are in the majority, a source familiar told CBS News Texas that Democratic Congressman Marc Veasey of Fort Worth will run in this district. Veasey has represented parts of Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas since 2013.
Another source told CBS News Texas that one other potential candidate for this district is Dr. Frederick Haynes III, senior pastor of Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas. There is already an effort in the community to draft Haynes to run.
In the newly drawn 33rd Congressional District, which will just be in Dallas County and will become a majority Latino district, Democratic Congresswoman Julie Johnson of Farmers Branch filed to run. That's because it includes part of the district she is in now.
Former LULAC National President Domingo Garcia, who's also a former state representative and Dallas city council member, told CBS News Texas that he's on the cusp of announcing a run as well.
The newly drawn 32nd Congressional District moves from a Democratic majority to a Republican majority. Republican candidates include Ryan Binkley, Darrell Day, Aimee Carrasco, Monty Montanez and Paul Bondar.
Longtime Republican California Congressman Darrell Issa briefly considered running in this North Texas district but changed his mind after meeting with President Trump. He said he will run for re-election in his San Diego area district, which was redrawn by Democrats in California as a result of and to neutralize Texas' redistricting.
Republican State Representative Katrina Pierson of Rockwall also considered running for this seat but has announced she is running for re-election in her Texas House district.
Hillary Clinton is wrong. Israel is the real threat.
You can't whitewash the stain, no matter how many platforms you try to seize.
Israel cannot wash its stain. The world sees it and they are reigning down on it.
The only country besides Israel standing in the way of prosecution and dissolution of this apartheid ethnostate is the United States.
You want to call a social media personality like Ms. Rachel a terrorist. Because she cares about children being deliberately starved, maimed, tortured, sexually abused and killed by Israel.
You want to primary Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ro Khanna (D-CA), Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Andre Carson (D-IN) because they openly call for this country to be held accountable.
There are more ads and propaganda (hasbara) from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). More pro Israelin
Israel is facing global boycotts and they are concerned that the impact will wreck its economy.
Good.
When the world is seeing Zionists act like the evil sons of bitches they are, it's no wonder why Israel is collapsing.
What angers me is the fact that Phoenix, Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Montreal, Quebec, Toronto, London, Berlin, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Moscow, Paris, Lyon, Brussels, Madrid and Tehran have large Jewish populations. They are Jewish people living everywhere in the world.
Why do they need to occupy Palestine?
Why the fuck do they need their own religious country?
A list of people who will back Israel regardless of its crimes.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine was met with immediate condemnation. The United States heavily pushed for sanctions, boycotts of products, sanctioning of top officials, a warrant against Federation president Vladimir Putin and a ban of Russian athletes.
The International Criminal Court has an active warrant for Putin. The U.S. under both President Donald J. Trump and former president Joe Biden praised it.
When the ICC pushed for criminal charges against Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, the U.S. pulled funding, issued travel bans, sanctions on finances of trial judges and a formal review of prosecutor Karim A.A. Khan.
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.
Hillary Clinton doubled down at the Doha Forum on remarks she made last week at the Israel Hayom Summit, where she claimed young people who are pro-Palestinian have been propagandized and misinformed by social media. Moments ago, she said young people are getting an “incomplete”… pic.twitter.com/VOiFwcPtQY
Mike Waltz, Trump's US Ambassador to the UN, opens his appearance at the Israel Hayom summit by saying, "I think I speak for many of us here: if Dr. [Miriam] Adelson reaches out, we figure out a way to get here!"
Zionist Organization of America National President Mort Klein, at Israel Hayom summit in New York, laments that the "Arabs and the Jew haters have made tremendous inroads."
"We've got to demonize the demons who are lying about Israel!"

Hillary Clinton is just the latest elite to be whining about how TikTok didn’t censor the American people soon enough to stop us from seeing what Israel was doing to Gaza. pic.twitter.com/U1uRPvWEZ9
I guess Hillary Clinton also thinks that Amnesty International called what’s happening in Gaza a genocide because they saw some videos on TikTok and just “did not know history.”
Young people’s views on Israel are based on young people knowing that Israel has committed genocide. https://t.co/nbpCKOv079
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared at a pro Israel event along with other former Obama, Trump, Biden and current Trump officials. Outgoing New York City mayor Eric Adams, UN Ambassador Michael Waltz, Sen. John Fetterman (I-PA), Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) were also there along with Republican megadonor Miriam Adelson.
Clinton stated that people who view TikTok were basically a driver for anti-Israel sentiment. Speaking at a summit hosted by the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom in New York City in early December 2025, the former Secretary of State and presidential candidate expressed concern over how young people are obtaining their information about the conflict.
Clinton also highlighted that this dynamic was impacting "a lot of young Jewish Americans who don't know the history and don't understand" the situation.
This is why it's important to just keep pushing and never let them stop you from doing what's right.
When young Americans are seeing children being blown up, Israeli Defense Soliders wearing the clothes of their victims, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lecturing Americans on what is justified opinionated concerns, the AIPAC lobby trying to deflect by painting critics as being bought by foreign influence, the ADL trying push censorship campaigns on social media, the deflections to blame Muslims, the calls to deport critics because they oppose Israel, calling people "antisemitic" and a "terrorist" to stifle critics is seriously backfiring.
This 🇮🇱 And Zionism Will Be Regarded As A Symbol Of Evil In The 21st Century.
Antisemitism has become just fucking noise. Folks are tired of being censored because of opinions.
Israel and its allies overplayed the use of antisemitism. From now on, as long as there is no violence towards anyone practicing Judaism or Islam, I will not hold my tongue when criticizing Israel, Jews, President Donald J. Trump, Vice President JD Vance, former president Joe Biden, former vice president Kamala Harris, most members of Congress, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, the Canary Mission, Zionism, colonialism, imperialism, slavery, racism, Christian nationalism and white supremacy.
They are the cause of global instability in the world.
Again, as long as there is no violence towards anyone practicing religious beliefs, there is no antisemitism when criticizing the Jews.
To clear up the Western-back junk food media's account of Oct. 7, the Israelis used the Hannibal Directive to massacre the settlers to prevent Hamas from taking IDF soliders. The IDF has used the weapons to kill settlers at a festival.
Hamas has been very clear on who they targeted. They targeted the IDF and the walls. They do not target civilians. Israel has exaggerated the way this went down.
Israel has used American weapons to kill children, women, men, their own settlers, journalists, doctors, humanitarian aid workers, UN peacekeepers and their own IDF soliders. Israel has killed Americans, British, German, Australian, Canadians and French citizens.
No investigations were carried out to why Israel targeted them.
Israel refuses to allow independent journalists and monitors into Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
IDF soliders who refuse to carry out orders are often taken out by snipers.
The "hostages" were IDF soliders.
Israel is repeatedly violating the Trump backed ceasefire. They continue its invasion of Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria. They have stopped humanitarian aid and attacked any attempts by volunteers or independent surveyors.
Okay, it was tear gas. You don't see the video of Adelita Grijalva being pepper sprayed. This is how our federal government sees a sitting member of Congress when she is demanding answers.
The United States and Israel share one thing in common. Denying their actions and claiming the accuser is either lying or exaggerating. When the video proof is shown, they claim its was the fault of the accuser and they shouldn't be involved in matters.
It is a tactic that's been played for decades. As more Americans are showing frustration with the federal government being incompetent, the time is now.
The status quo cannot continue on.
Over 50 days of waiting and Adelita Grijalva was finally sworn in as the U.S. Representative from Arizona. She is the daughter of the late member Raul Grijalva. The lawmaker is proving to be one of President Donald J. Trump's newest headaches.
Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) is passionate. She called out House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) after he did his swearing in for Rep. Matt Van Epps (R-TN), two days after he was declared the winner in a special election to replace Mark Green.
She is a voice of the Hispanic/indigenous progressive movement.
While in her district, she literally confronted Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The ICE officials are going to push for Attorney General Pam Bondi to indict her like they did Rep. LaMonica Mciver (D-NJ).
While in Tuscon, ICE agents were violently rounding up random people on the basis that local establishment was hub to undocumented immigrants.
Grijalva confronted the agents. She was pepper-sprayed by immigration agents during raids and protests in southern Arizona on Friday morning that resulted in dozens of arrests.
ICE is a lawless agency under this Administration – operating with no transparency, no accountability, and open disregard for basic due process.
No family in our community should live in fear, and I will not rest until we get clear answers and accountability. pic.twitter.com/Z2mUuRxHuX
Grijalva said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she witnessed 40 Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during demonstrations linked to a federal operation at Taco Giro, a local Mexican food chain, in Tucson.
Video posted on social media showed agents using pepper spray on the large group of protestors, along with Rep. Grijalva, who arrived and tried to talk to protestors in a raid at the Tucson restaurant.
For Republicans it takes 48 hours to be sworn. For Democrats, it is a matter of principle and Republicans have to focus on other issues than swearing in elected officials.
Congresswoman says she was getting lunch
The Democratic lawmaker said she had shown up to get lunch for herself alongside her staff. When she arrived, she said she identified herself as a member of Congress and was asking federal agents questions when she was reportedly pepper-sprayed.
If her claims were true, this would be a medical marvel.
But they’re not true. She wasn’t pepper sprayed.
She was in the vicinity of someone who *was* pepper sprayed as they were obstructing and assaulting law enforcement. In fact, 2 law enforcement officers were seriously… https://t.co/U0zspIuGxQ
“I was sprayed in the face by a very aggressive agent and pushed around by others when I literally was not being aggressive,” she said. “I was asking for clarification, which is my right as a member of Congress.”
“We saw people directly sprayed, members of our press, everybody that was with me, my staff member, myself, two staff members, we have remnants of whatever they sprayed on us,” the Democrat said in a recorded video statement posted on social media.
“While I am fine, if that is the way they treat me, how are they treating other community members who do not have the same privileges and protections that I do?” Rep. Grijalva later explained in a written statement.
ICE conducts 16 search warrants
ICE said that it joined other feMOderal partners, including the IRS Criminal Investigations Unit, to conduct 16 search warrants in southern Arizona.
An ICE spokesman later said on Friday that 46 people suspected of being in the U.S. illegally were arrested during operations at several homes and restaurants in southern Arizona.
Feds said the warrants were conducted as part of a years-long investigation into immigration and tax violations.
Tricia McLaughlin with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said Rep. Grijalva was nearby someone who was pepper-sprayed because they were “obstructing and assaulting law enforcement.” She added two law enforcement officers were “seriously hurt by this mob.”
Video shows confrontations
Tucson news crews captured at least one protester being detained during a confrontation with agents, while another appeared to be directly confronting one agent. It’s unclear what prompted the demonstrations to escalate.
In a joint statement, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero and Vice Mayor Lane Santa Cruz called the situation an “disproportionate use of force.”
“Under the Trump Administration, unidentified federal agents often intentionally wear clothing with vague words like ‘police’ to purposefully confuse the public,“ the statement read in part. ”[...] Smoke grenades and pepper balls against the public, including our own Representative Adelita Grijalva, is not justified and cannot be tolerated.’
Adelita will be shaking things up.
Video captured by a KOLD photojournalist showed agents removing several boxes from a Taco Giro location near Cortaro Farms Road and Thornydale Road in Tucson’s northside.
In a statement, the Tucson Police Department said it conducted traffic control in the area and was not directly involved in the operations.
“All TPD personnel involved in the response were in full TPD patrol (dark blue) uniforms,” the police department said in a release. “No detentions, arrests, munitions, or force were deployed by TPD personnel at this incident during our response. The Tucson Police Department remains committed to supporting our community by ensuring both public safety and the protection of everyone’s ability to peacefully exercise their rights.”
At least one other Taco Giro Tucson location was also raided, according to KOLD. Eyewitness accounts also detailed that border agents and crime scene tape could be seen at Taco Giro’s locations in Casa Grande, Sierra Vista and Vail, Arizona.
Nearly five years and now Trump DOJ 2.0 caught him.
Benny Johnson should be viewed as entertainment and not opinioned journalism. The far right grease pit claimed the Jan. 5-6 pipe bomber was a Democrat. Without hearing any facts, the far right assumed the suspect, Brian Cole, Jr., a Black man was registered a Democrat and was plotting to harm President Donald J. Trump.
We are reminded that Trump was outgoing president at the time and a lot of supporters were upset over his loss. Moreover, the far right dedicated their whole mission to "Stop the Steal."
Trump sicced his supporters on the U.S. Capitol to cause harm to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Vice then President Mike Pence and the electoral college castings.
The suspect was not a Democrat or antifa. He was not an anti-Trumper or a plant.
He was a man driven to rage by conspiracies peddled by Fox. Driven by the noise of Attorney General Pam Bondi, U.S. District Attorney Jeanine Pirro, FBI Director Kash Patel, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bogino, Sean "Softball" Hannity, Tucker Carlson, the late Lou Dobbs, Newsmax, Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, Laura Loomer, Laura Ingraham and most Republicans. The driver of that train was Trump, the biggest conspiracy theorist and troll president.
I was told he was a MAGA white supremacist? Maybe that’s how he identifies?
🚨 BREAKING: 2021 DC pipe bomb suspect Brian Cole Jr.—a 30-year-old Black man (unless you're watching CNN)—arrested after 5 years and charged with transporting an explosive device across state lines with intent to kill/injure or destroy property; attempted malicious destruction… pic.twitter.com/EVTDDt5SP0
Jake tapper should be fired, CNN should be off the air, and the J6 Pipe bomber Brian Cole is a Trump hating Antifa member who worked with Nancy Pelosi. pic.twitter.com/0dHXIVwXSF
Deflection doesn’t work here: Brian Cole is: 1) A Trump supporter 2) Was motivated by Trump’s Big Lie of election fraud in 2020 SOURCES: Trump and Kash Patel’ FBI … and Cole himself. pic.twitter.com/3U5E1Ednzz
He was a Black MAGAland who was the type of quiet incels who will kill for clout.
Cole, 30, of Woodbridge, Virginia, was arrested this morning and charged for transporting and planting two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on January 5, 2021, at the headquarters of both the Republican National Committee and the Democratic National Committee in Washington D.C., announced Attorney General Bondi, FBI Director Patel, and U.S. Attorne Pirro.
Cole is charged in a complaint unsealed today with transporting an explosive device in interstate commerce with the intent to kill, injure, or intimidate any individual or unlawfully to damage or destroy any building, vehicle, or other real or personal property. He is also charged with attempted malicious destruction by means of fire and explosive materials.
Cole also said that that he got rid of the unusual shoes that investigators were looking for, according Pirro.
"He told us that he had those sneakers and that he got rid of them after he placed the pipe bombs," Pirro told ABC News in an exclusive interview Friday.
When asked if she would go further in saying that Cole offered a full confession, Pirro would go no further, saying, "I don't want to get ahead of this, but what I can tell you is that the combination of video evidence, forensic evidence, as well as the items, the receipts and -- it makes it very clear that we can prove this case to a jury beyond a reasonable doubt."
Authorities arrested Cole, 30, on Thursday after identifying him as the suspect in the case following a yearslong investigation.
He made his first court appearance Friday and did not enter a plea.
The distinctive Nike Air Max Turf sneakers seen in CCTV images had long been a focus of investigators who were hoping they would lead to the suspect.
First appearance of the bomber in federal court.
Pirro said that based on the evidence, it is "unmistakable" that Cole is the suspect, after having gone through 3 million pieces of data.
"In my mind, they were on the right path when it was clear that the cell phone was pinging in the exact locations where we had the video of the suspect walking along the area," Pirro said. "Everywhere he walked, his cell phone was pinging at the cell tower. So it is unmistakable that he was the guy who was walking along and placing those items," she said.
Pirro confirmed ABC News' reporting that Cole is talking to authorities and that they say he expressed concern about the 2020 election.
"He was disappointed in various aspects of the election," Pirro said.
She said "it really isn't clear" if Cole is a supporter of either President Donald Trump or former President Joe Biden.
"This guy was an equal opportunity bomber," Pirro said. "He put a bomb outside the Republican National Committee and the Democrat National Committee. He was disappointed to a great deal in the system, both sides of the system, and for me as a prosecutor, my job is to prove what his intent was in placing those pipe bombs, and what he intended to do, and what we can prove, and we can prove that."
She said they won't stop investigating this case and will continue to execute search warrants and find information.
Pirro was adamant that the public will see the facts of this case, regardless of politics.
"Look at me," she said. "You will see the facts. You will see the evidence. You will see the truth as we go forward with this case. The law requires it, it demands it, and it is what we will deliver."
The pipe bombs was place near the Democratic National Committee headquarters when then Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, then chairman Jaime Harrison and future lead Ken Martin were in the vicinity.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
