Of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the jobs report details how many jobs were spread across the United States. Some areas seen job growth while others saw job losses.

For the month of August, the jobs report shows the U.S. economy created slightly fewer jobs than expected in August, reflecting a slowing labor market while also clearing the way for the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates later this month.

Nonfarm payrolls expanded by 142,000 during the month, up from 89,000 in July and below the 161,000 consensus forecast from Dow Jones, according to a report Friday from the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At the same time, the unemployment rate ticked down to 4.2%, as expected.

The labor force expanded by 120,000 for the month, helping push the jobless level down by 0.1 percentage point, though the labor force participation rate held at 62.7%. An alternative measure that includes discouraged workers and those holding part-time jobs for economic reasons edged up to 7.9%, its highest reading since October 2021.

The household survey, which is used to calculate the unemployment rate and is often more volatile than the survey of establishments, showed employment growth of 168,000. The balance, though, tilted toward part-time employment, which increased by 527,000, while full-time fell by 438,000.

Markets showed little initial reaction to the data, with stock futures holding negative and Treasury yields also lower.

While the August numbers were close to expectations, the previous two months saw substantial downward revisions. The BLS cut July’s total by 25,000, while June fell to 118,000, a downward revision of 61,000.

“I don’t like this a whole lot. It’s not disaster, but it’s below expectations on the headline, and what really bothers me is the revisions,” said Dan North, senior economist for North America at Allianz Trade. “This is certainly going the wrong way.”

Trump is struggling. Since the assassination attempt and Biden's departure, the former president isn't connecting with voters.

From a sector standpoint, construction led with 34,000 additional jobs. Other substantial gainers included health care, with 31,000, and social assistance, which saw growth of 13,000. Manufacturing lost 24,000 on the month.

On wages, average hourly earnings increased by 0.4% on the month and 3.8% from a year ago, both higher than the respective estimates for 0.3% and 3.7%. Hours worked nudged higher to 34.3.

The report comes with markets on edge over the next step for the Fed, which has been on hold with rates since July 2023 after having enacted a series of sharp increases to bring down inflation.

Heading into the release, markets had been pricing in a 100% probability that the Fed will start cutting rates when it meets Sept. 17-18. The only question was how much.

Following the payrolls release, futures market pricing briefly tilted towards a half percentage point cut but then switched back to a quarter point, according to the CME Group’s FedWatch gauge.

“For the Fed, the decision comes down to deciding which is the bigger risk: reigniting inflation pressures if they cut by 50 [basis points] or threatening recession if they only cut by 25 [basis points],” said Seema Shah, chief global strategist at Principal Asset Management. “On balance, with inflation pressures subdued, there is no reason for the Fed not to err on the side of caution and frontload rate cuts.”

The recent narrative for the economic data has indicated continuing growth but a slowdown for the labor market. Payrolls processing firm ADP reported Thursday that private companies added just 99,000 jobs in August, while outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas reported that layoffs surged in August and hiring had hit its slowest year-to-date pace going back to at least 2005.

The BLS report indicated that the private sector added 118,000 jobs for the month, up from 74,000 in July. Government jobs increased by 24,000.

Most Fed officials have indicated that they also see rates coming down. In his pivotal annual speech at the Fed’s annual Jackson Hole, Wyoming, conclave, Chair Jerome Powell proclaimed that “the time has come” to adjust policy, though he provided no specifics for what that meant.

In a speech Friday morning, New York Fed President John Williams endorsed rate cuts.

“With the economy now in equipoise and inflation on a path to 2 percent, it is now appropriate to dial down the degree of restrictiveness in the stance of policy by reducing the target range for the federal funds rate,” Williams said in remarks before the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.

The FBI announces that they have launched an investigation into Republican Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles as a result of allegedly fraudulent campaign spending. A search warrant was issued on August 2, and his cell phone had been seized.

It is announced that the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans amusement park, which has been closed Hurricane Katrina struck the park and New Orleans, will be demolished beginning in September. Bayou Phoenix is expected to rebuild the area as a $500 million complex with youth sports fields, hotels, shops, a movie studio and a waterpark.

The current president, Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He will serve one term and now in his lame duck term, his job approval is rising.

The junk food media is ignoring the accomplishments. Biden is facing blowback from his support of Israel, the constant mention of Republican rival former president Donald J. Trump and the repeated campaign to tarnish his son Hunter.

You know the junk food media ain't talking about Hunter Biden or Biden corruption now that he exited the race. Sean "Softball" Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Mark Levin, Fox, Breitbart are more concerned about Harris laughing, her Blackness and this made up border czar nonsense.

Trump is still telling Americans that if he doesn't win, there will be all out war. He still is telling the world that if he gets in he will finish what he started.

Republicans still can't govern in the House of Representatives. They are pushing authoritarianism in states they have control of. They are banning swatting, honing and regulations on testing. But when it comes to firearms, they refuse to do something.

Republicans are using dog whistles when talking about Harris, Israel, crime, immigration and gun violence.

1. Hamas are terrorist to Israel and the United States. Those who support Hamas or defend their actions are labeled terrorist sympathizers, antisemitic, traitors, unpatriotic, radicals or whatever they conjure up.

2. Gun violence is the No. 1 threat to children and adults. When gun violence happen in Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Atlanta, Washington, DC, Detroit and Baltimore, a Republican lawmaker wants to blame gun violence on Democratic mayors instead of the Congress.

3. Immigration is right now at record lows. The world views the U.S. as a hostile country and migrants from the Global South are beginning to ban American influence. They fear a Trump presidency could cause instability. Republicans are pushing for border closures, border/segregation walls, mass deportations, elimination of birthright citizenship, end of legal rights to Americans married to immigrants and push for English only. They also want to ban immigrants or student visas. They want to deport any immigrant who protest Israel or Trump.

4. Crime is a record lows. But property theft is up. Shoplifting, the Kia/Hyundai challenge, gun violence, white collar crimes and cybertheft have occurred. But again its racial dog whistles. Many corporations are getting away with greed and theft of wages. Many Americans are tired of paying more for less product. Kia and Hyundai are still facing criticism over this Kia Boyz nonsense. Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Wexman are on their last legs. Walmart, Target and Kroger are closing stores in predominantly Black and Latino neighborhoods. Republicans are pushing for more mandatory sentences for theft. Democrats want to push for regulations on shrinkflation and theft of wages. Republicans oppose overtime and regulations to keep corporations from raising product prices.

Republicans want political revenge. Trump wants to jail his rivals. He may get that wish if he does return to power. This is not a joke. We ignored the threats in 2016 and 2020. It seems like we are going to do this again.

Do not assume that every place has jobs. Companies are closing up shop. The tech industry, retail, trucking and press are laying off workers. The service industry is continuing to suffer due to stagnant wages, lack of achievements and work overload.

Also, housing is still down. More Americans can't afford rent or car payments.

AIPAC has poured money into many of these primaries. It openly bragged that its choices which were Democrats and Republicans beating their challengers.

House members passed a bill to define antisemitism in attempt to suppress freedom of speech. The insufferable House of Representatives in a bipartisan moment are trying to criminalize thought and dissent.

They are now trying to outlaw any criticism of Israel as hate speech which could be punishable by sanctions, divestment or allowing companies to terminate employment of anyone who dares criticizes Israel.

Let me get this straight: You are more upset over words than actions. You are upset someone using their freedom of speech to criticize a foreign country engaged in a propaganda campaign to shield itself from war crimes and impunity. You are upset over people using their voices, their wallets and their time to protest an injustice. Well, get upset over your taxpayer money aiding foreign nations. Get upset over foreign nations killing Americans in a war funded by our taxpayer money. Get upset over the deaths of thousands in Haiti, Chad, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria, Venezuela, Myanmar, Mexico, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine and Palestine. Get upset at your president, your senator, your representative, your governor, your state leader, your mayor and your local junk food media for bowing to the evil regime of Israel.

The Congress has less work than most Americans. It is infuriating that the average worker works more 50 hours a week while 157 House members and 36 senators work on average of 25 hours a week.

Republicans see the only path to victory is basically obstruct and complain about the president and vice president. They won't offer solutions or policies. All they care about is trying to keep folks angry with culture wars and distractions.

To make this clear, it doesn't matter anymore who the fucking president is. Biden, Harris, Trump and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. are backing Israel over the world. They are so out of touch with reality.

The lawmakers will spend more taxpayer money to fix our crumbling infrastructure.

Many of these Republicans who vote against funding the government and assistance for some of America's less fortunate are willing to give billions to a foreign nation engaged in an illegal act of genocide. Same with Democrats. They claim they want to protect democracy but endorse a fascist government sworn to being an ethnostate on our taxpayer dime.

Folks must work hours that do not accommodate home and social life, it may only be part time work or temporary. Some jobs may force overtime or refuse to pay for work rendered. With unions being weaken by states, it may be an at-will company. So if you are on social media, protesting injustices, supporting controversial issues or making threats to local officials; you could lose your job.

Jobs are looking good despite fears.

Companies are cautious about hiring employees. With the average wages stagnant, many are not looking forward to returning to a job that pays dirt wages. Many who worked in the retail, restaurant and low end service industry are not willing to take a job for less than $10 an hour. Matter of fact, no one can survive on $15 an hour.

Republicans don't see the bigger picture itself. They rather continue to believe in conspiracies about people collecting the safety net and not going back to work.

Give them a liveable wage and maybe things might improve in the job market.

We can't always assume that folks are lazy. People are literally dying from being exposed to the coronavirus, gun violence and folks are tired of the status quo of their jobs.

Many single mothers are having trouble trying to find quality daycare or family members to watch children. On top of that, some have lost family members due to the pandemic. A homemaker may have lost their spouse. Some may have no choice but to watch their children or loved ones due to the aftermath of the pandemic.

Folks are still trying to rebound from medical bills, late rent payments, owing taxes and college loans.

Republicans are white nationalists without a conscience. 

Trump's presidency and Republican controlled governments are incompetent. Their leadership has killed millions of Americans. Biden has a slim majority in Congress and things can't be done with obstruction from both parties.

Holding these lawmakers accountable is not just a pledge, but a promise. You need to learn who represents your community. Your local community member, your school board member, your mayor, your state representative, your state senator, your governor, your U.S. Representative, your U.S. Senator and the president need to be held accountable for their actions. 

We need to put pressure on Republicans and Democrats to do something to improve everyone's lives.

Keep pressure on them with Israel. 

Israel must be held accountable for war crimes and the U.S. must end its aid. Our taxpayer money should not help Israel any further.

They are feeling it. Democrats know the risk of supporters being turned off by their policies. They know that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are under extreme pressure to do something. Some Arab Americans, Muslim and young voters have vowed to never back Harris putting her election chances in danger.

Let them know that you are tired of your taxpayer money going to foreign nations like Israel. You are tired of hearing about "Israel having a right to..." and the bogus claims of being anti-semitic or in support of terrorism. 

We have bigger issues at home and our tax dollars should solve the housing crisis, lowering food prices, fixing roads, bridges, helping reinvest in struggling urban and rural communities. We have hospitals closing, big box retailers leaving communities and television programs dying. There are bigger issues in the country than Israel. You want an immediate ceasefire and accountability for war crimes done by Israel. You want no more foreign influence in American elections. You also want to make sure future presidents and lawmakers avoid influence from lobbyists.

Rich Homie Quan has passed away.

Atlanta based rapper and media personality has passed away.

One month shy of his 34th birthday, Dequantes Devontay Lamar was associated with the Think Its A Game group [TIG], Birdman's Rich Gang and Young Thug.

He has collaborated with Birdman, Gucci Mane, Timbaland, Young Thug, Problem, Trouble, Future, Young Scooter, YG, Jeezy, T.I., DaBaby, 2 Chainz and so many others.

He was found dead in his Atlanta area home.

Rich Homie Quan is still my ringtone when I heard his smash single "Walk Thru".

The Fulton County Medical Examiner said in a statement that Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital notified its personnel Thursday of the rapper's death.

He was 33, the office said.

A cause and manner of death was not released. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, the medical examiner said.

The artist, whose given name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, scored a big hit more than a decade ago with the song “Type of Way.” He followed it up in 2015 with “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh).”

Rapper Boosie Badazz posted about his friend’s death on social media.

He said the two had “GOOD ASS MEMORIES TOGETHER N THAT GO ALWAYS BRING A SMILE TO MY FACE. #restupquan.”

Boosie Badazz said the two artists were collaborating together before Rich Homie Quan's death.

Rich Homie Quan's family and his management representatives could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.

Mark Dantonio, the former head football coach at Michigan State University, posted a picture on X of him and Rich Homie Quan embracing after Dantonio's team won the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2014.

The Georgia school shooter and his father will be criminally charged with murder.

The 14-year old mass shooter will be charged as an adult and is expected to face a judge this week. Both were charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, having bought the alleged murder weapon as a gift for his son.

Colt Gray and his father Colin, 54 will be held on a $5 million get out free card each.

Both face LIFE in the iron college without the possibility of parole. The usual case for an adult is DEATH if convicted. An underage is often given the choice of LIFE once they reach 17 years old. The complicity charges for others is the "ignoring the warning signs", "failing to report a crime", "purchasing or granting access to the murder weapon or instrument" and "refusing to properly lock up or store firearms" which the accomplice gets.

The suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

"These charges stem from Mr. Gray knowingly allowing his son, Colt, to possess a weapon," said GBI Director Chris Hosey said during an 8 p.m. press conference Thursday.

Hosey would not go into the evidence collected against either father or son, but added that the arrest was made when there was enough probable cause to do so. The ATF and GBI were at the Gray home within an hour after Colt Gray was taken into custody. Investigators spent the day combing over the house for evidence linked to the shooting. 

He was booked into the Barrow County Jail.

Students were evacuated from the building to the school's football field, after it had been deemed safe.

The dead were identified as two students and two teachers at Apalachee High School in Winder, about an hour’s drive from Atlanta. Killed were two other 14-year-olds, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and instructors Richard Aspenwall and Christina Irimie, Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Chris Hosey said in a nighttime news conference.

Officials also revealed that all nine people injured in the shooting are expected to recover. Two of those who were shot were teachers and the rest were students. Several of them still remain in the hospital.

Authorities reminded students to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious.

Reporting revealed that in May 2023, local law enforcement, in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, had visited Gray and his family to investigate school shooting threats posted online. The agencies confirmed that the subject of that investigation was a then 13-year old Gray, but probable cause for an arrest did not exist.

U.S. Attorney General, Merrick Garland, said that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were on the scene. The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Atlanta office confirmed that its agents were on scene. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is also involved in the investigation.

Gray had allegedly made earlier threats on Discord; the username was said by the FBI to have included the last name of Adam Lanza, the perpetrator of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Kemp tweeted his condolences and asked for all Georgians to join in praying for the safety of students in classrooms. Andre Dickens, mayor of Atlanta, offered his thoughts and prayers to those affected as well as support to responding law enforcement. Georgia U.S. Representative Mike Collins, whose congressional district includes the school, issued a statement offering prayers for the victims and their families. Collins' response was met with criticism from gun control advocates, with some accusing Collins of endorsing gun violence; a 2022 campaign ad from Collins' Twitter resurfaced[by whom?], featuring Collins with an assault rifle as he accused Biden of stealing the 2020 US Presidential election and threatened to go to Washington, D.C. to "blow up the Democrats’ cover up".

Marjorie Taylor Greene, another U.S. Representative from Georgia, also issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) offering support to the victims and families. 

Like Collins, Greene had faced criticism for campaign ads involving guns, as well as promoting baseless statements about previous shootings, such as the 2018 Parkland high school shooting, which she falsely claimed was a false flag act to promote anti-gun laws.

To all the Black firearm owners who support the Second Amendment or former president Donald J. Trump in the 2024 presidential race, I just want to say...

The National Rifle Association never reacts to lawful exercise of firearm use when a Black, Hispanic, Arab, Muslim, Indigenous, LGBTQ or underage teen of color is carrying them.

When white men, women or even some Asians are carrying firearms, the NRA is often parading them around like they're heroes and protectors of freedom. Republican lawmakers are often the idiots who pose with firearms or have their children with them.

Thinking they're tough but in reality, they weaklings who can't fight or take discretion in proper use of a firearm.

In about 45 states, I believe it is lawful for you to walk down a street with a firearm.

If you're a Black man walking down the street with a firearm, the random 911 call or the visual spotting from a police officer merits an automatic drawl of a service weapon.

Police officers within seconds are either shooting or premeditated an excuse to use force.

The unions back up their claims of "fearing for their lives" despite the perpetrator not even firing a round. Given that the junk food media loves to paint the aggressor as the victim, the police officer is given the benefit of doubt. The person police shot usually do not get any ounce of doubt. A mugshot of a suspect or a picture of a person posing with money or firearms automatically draws far right conclusions to justification of force.

Even fleeing from police with a firearm and not even pointing at them results in police shootings. 

If a person does survive, the state still charges the person for a crime despite the state allowing open carry and lawful possession.

So I just want to say that the Second Amendment is White, period.

I dismiss this ridiculous notion that criminals are the problem, not the guns. Firearms are often obtained through legal purchases. 

Again, having more security, teachers being armed and offering safe rooms are not solving the problem. The problem is lawmakers not willing to stop gun violence.

According to the far right: White shooters are mentally ill. Black shooters are unrepentant thugs and criminals. Gay shooters are active groomers. Muslim shooters are terrorists. Hispanic and Asian shooters are illegal immigrants. According to the far right, almost all white [or non-white] mass shooters are registered Democrats [or some progressive activist] because they have liked or done one thing common to the left. Of course, they often share or post disinformation by using the "Sam Hyde" meme or make bogus social media platforms with the shooter's image as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white or associated with conservative causes. The far right says a white person should "protect" themselves from thugs, terrorists or protesters. They believe the use of firearms are "justified" if they are protesting or even instigating a conflict. The far right believes if a shooter is a police officer, an active military member, a veteran or a citizen who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and use of firearms are justified. If the shooters are teens in urban communities, the far right automatically assume the gunmen are Black.

The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox, Twitter and they force it into national news. They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican lawmakers who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms. 

The far right and Republicans exploit gun violence in the Black community for culture wars and racism.

So in closing, expect more.

Let them know that you are tired of your taxpayer money going to foreign nations like Israel. You are tired of hearing about "Israel having a right to..." and the bogus claims of being anti-semitic or in support of terrorism. 

We have bigger issues at home and our tax dollars should solve the housing crisis, lowering food prices, fixing roads, bridges, helping reinvest in struggling urban and rural communities. We have hospitals closing, big box retailers leaving communities and television programs dying. There are bigger issues in the country than Israel. You want an immediate ceasefire and accountability for war crimes done by Israel. You want no more foreign influence in American elections. You also want to make sure future presidents and lawmakers avoid influence from lobbyists.

Allan Lichtman: It Points To Kamala Harris!

Kamala Harris has the keys to victory. It's her game to lose.

As much as I hate to say this, he never is wrong and its time to reluctantly put the pedal to the metal and get Kamala Devi Harris and Timothy James Walz across the finish line.

We could have our first woman, second African American, second biracial and first Asian American president. Kamala Harris could be the 47th President of the United States. 

After listening to former president Donald J. Trump at his Fox "town hall" with Sean "Softball", I concluded that the former president and vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance are going to find it hard to win if they continue to make "doom and gloom" their only solution to take on Harris and Walz.

Allan Lichtman, the political Nostradamus said that of his 13 keys, Harris has succeeded in most of them. Whereas it is still a close race and the only thing that matters is that Harris makes it to 270 electoral votes.

Lichtman revealed his decision Thursday morning in an op-ed video for The New York Times.

“The Democrats will hold on to the White House, and Kamala Harris will be the next president of the United States,” Lichtman said in the video.

“At least, that’s my prediction for this race.”

On the final two keys, Lichtman said, “Foreign policy is tricky, and these keys could flip.”

He noted that the Biden administration is deeply involved in Israel’s war in Gaza, which he called a “humanitarian disaster with no end in sight.”

If you don't vote for me, this country will go to hell like the likes you've never seen before.

“But even if both foreign policy keys flipped false, that would mean that there were only five negative keys, which would not be enough for Donald Trump to regain the White House,” Lichtman told the Times.

Lichtman’s analysis largely eschews poll results, campaign strategies, sound bites, policy plans and other factors that most political commentators and analysts tend to lean on.

But his system has yielded results.

Lichtman was one of the few political analysts to accurately predict ahead of the 2016 election that Trump would defeat then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. However, Lichtman’s model indicated that Trump would win the popular vote, which he lost despite securing the Electoral College.

Lichtman accurately predicted that President Joe Biden would beat Trump in the 2020 race.

Former president Donald J. Trump got the backing of former Democratic lawmaker Tulsi Gabbard. 

Vice President Kamala Harris got the backing of former Republican lawmaker Liz Cheney.

Which one is better?

Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, the Republican vice presidential nominee, criticized Cheney during a moderated discussion at an event hosted by the conservative group Turning Point Action on Wednesday night.

"A very good thing that I could say about the next presidency of Donald J. Trump is that he's going to make sure people like Liz Cheney are laughed out of the Oval Office instead of rewarded," Vance told moderator Charlie Kirk.

In August, the Harris campaign unveiled more than two-dozen endorsements from Republicans, many of whom are politicians who have been vocally opposed to Trump's candidacy.

Apalachee High School, two weeks into the school year, 14 year old Colt Gray carried out a mass shooting which killed two students and two teachers. Gray, a student at the school, adding that the suspect would be charged with murder and tried as an adult. The suspect reportedly used an AR-15 style rifle in the school shooting. 

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Before the shooting, a call from an unknown source was placed to Apalachee High School stating that five schools would be targeted and that Apalachee would be the first.

Reports of the shooting were first received at around 9:30 am, with the school placed in lockdown at around 10:20 am and law enforcement responding at around 10:23 am. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation director said that the sheriff's office received calls of an active shooter at the school at around 10:20 am local time, with responders arriving within minutes. The school resource officers engaged the suspect within minutes and he surrendered to them.

One student told reporters that he had heard about 10 shots, not believing the shooting to be real until he heard an officer yelling at someone to put down their gun. Another recounted that after hearing the gunshots, the class barricaded the door with objects before hiding. One student said their teacher attempted to investigate the noises before being directed to lock the door due to an active shooter. Then they heard someone pounding on the door shouting "open up!" multiple times before gunshots and screams.

She and her classmates ducked behind their teacher’s desk, and then the teacher began flipping the desk in an attempt to barricade the classroom door, Abner said. A classmate beside her was praying, and she held his hand while they all waited for police.

The FBI narrowed the threats down and referred to the case to the sheriff’s department in Jackson County, which is adjacent to Barrow County.

The sheriff’s office interviewed the then-13-year-old and his father, who said there were hunting guns in the house but the teen did not have unsupervised access to them. The teen also denied making any online threats.

The sheriff’s office alerted local schools for continued monitoring of the teen, but there was no probable cause for arrest to additional action, the FBI said.

The White House issued a statement confirming that Biden was briefed by Liz Sherwood-Randall, the Homeland Security Advisor, on the shooting and that his administration will "continue coordinating with federal, state, and local officials" as they receive more information. Attorney General Merrick Garland expressed his devastation in regards to the shooting and to anyone affected by it. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented on the shooting during the afternoon press briefing, discussing the concern for gun control in the form of universal background checks and other programs. 

Harris thanked first responders and stated that it "doesn't have to be this way."

A mugshot of a suspect or a picture of a person posing with money or firearms automatically draws far right conclusions to justification of force.

Even fleeing from police with a firearm and not even pointing at them results in police shootings. 

If a person does survive, the state still charges the person for a crime despite the state allowing open carry and lawful possession.

So I just want to say that the Second Amendment is White, period.

Harris campaigning in New Hampshire says this is too much.

A bullet does not care about color. We all bleed red and so many lives are lost to gun violence and Republicans offer no solutions other than "thoughts and prayers" with a touch of "lock em up."

Gun violence is the number one threat in the United States.

I dismiss this ridiculous notion that criminals are the problem, not the guns. Firearms are often obtained through legal purchases. 

Again, having more security, teachers being armed and offering safe rooms are not solving the problem. The problem is lawmakers not willing to stop gun violence.

According to the far right: White shooters are mentally ill. Black shooters are unrepentant thugs and criminals. Gay shooters are active groomers. Muslim shooters are terrorists. Hispanic and Asian shooters are illegal immigrants. According to the far right, almost all mass shooters are registered Democrats because they have liked or done one thing common to the left. Of course, they often share disinformation by using the "Sam Hyde" meme or make bogus social media platforms with the shooter's image as a way to denounce most mass shooters being white or associated with conservative causes. They say a white person should "protect" themselves from protesters and use of firearms are "justified" if they come to a protest to instigate conflict. They say if a shooter is active military or a veteran who supports conservative causes, they are considered a "heroes" and use of firearms are justified. If the shooters are teens, the far right automatically assume the gunmen are Black.

The Republicans usually amplify white victims. Anytime a person of color kills a white victim, it is often wall-to-wall coverage on Fox, Twitter and they force it into national news. They make the case to blame Black Lives Matter, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, Democrats, Rev. Al Sharpton and rap music for Black on whatever violence. Republican lawmakers who do not live in urban neighborhoods often troll social media to talk about gun violence or crime in Chicago, Baltimore, Milwaukee and New York City while not doing a damn thing to stop it. If a white person shoots a Black person, the shooter is given the benefit of doubt. White shooters are given glowing profiles about their perfect lives and how friends noticed something but refused to do something. When it comes to Black shooters, automatic vilification. They don't see mental illness. They see it as gang violence, allegedly fatherless homes, Democratic policies or the need for more firearms. The far right and Republicans exploit gun violence in the Black community for culture wars and racism.

So in closing, expect more.

Let them know that "thoughts and prayers," "hearts going to" and "good guys with guns" are no longer acceptable and you want legislation to curb gun violence. Let them know that we are tired of police officers using immunity when committing death of suspects in custody. Let them know that you are tired of private equity firms getting away with destroying small businesses and long established companies. Let them know that you are tired of your taxpayer money going to foreign nations like Israel. You are tired of hearing about "Israel having a right to..." and the bogus claims of being anti-semitic or in support of terrorism. 

We have bigger issues at home and our tax dollars should solve the housing crisis, lowering food prices, fixing roads, bridges, helping reinvest in struggling urban and rural communities. We have hospitals closing, big box retailers leaving communities and television programs dying. There are bigger issues in the country than Israel. You want an immediate ceasefire and accountability for war crimes done by Israel. You want no more foreign influence in American elections. You also want to make sure future presidents and lawmakers avoid influence from lobbyists.
