Coney Island, Cincinnati's oldest amusement park closes.
Located 10 miles from Downtown Cincinnati, one of Ohio's oldest amusement parks is shutting down for good. Coney Island, an amusement park that sits on the banks of the Ohio River will shut down for good on Dec. 31.
"Thank you, loyal patrons, for your support over the years. We will miss your smiles and enthusiasm. We have been proud to provide a place where so many wonderful memories were created for families. We thank the millions of patrons and employees from Cincinnati and surrounding neighborhoods. You made this a special place for all of us."
Since 1870, Coney Island had served over 23 million visitors and has a place in Cincinnati.
The park sits adjacent to Riverbend Music Center and Belterra Park Racino [formerly Riverfront Downs]. Beginning in 1870, the original owner called the area Parker's Grove, which was later renamed Ohio Grove, The Coney Island of the West after the Ohio Grove Corporation purchased the park in 1886. The name was shortened to Coney Island the following season. Over the years, the park expanded with dozens of rides and attractions, leading to its popularity as an amusement park destination.
As they are celebrating their last festival of lights, the amusement park will pull the plug on everything in preparation of a new musical amphitheater in the works.
The park was acquired by Music & Event Management Inc. (MEMI), which is a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO).
They will tear down the amusement park and build a multi-purpose amphitheater and shopping complex. They will allocate funds to redesign the Kellogg Avenue and Interstate 275 exit ramp to provide access to the facility as well as Riverbend and Belterra Park.

He also wants to have Biden, former president Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Rosie O'Donnell, Kathy Griffin, Chrissy Teigen, MSNBC and Liz Cheney locked up.
At a rally in New Hampshire, Trump said immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country” on Saturday.
Trump, who has echoed the likes of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini in a recent speech pledging to “root out... vermin” political foes, ranted about immigrants to supporters in Durham, New Hampshire.
“They poison mental institutions and prisons all over the world, not just in South America... but all over the world,” Trump said of immigrants.
“They’re coming into our country, from Africa, from Asia, all over the world,” he continued. “They’re pouring into our country. Nobody is even looking at them, they just come in and the crime is going to be tremendous, the terrorism is going to be.”
Trump also quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin to attack President Joe Biden, saying: “Even Vladimir Putin … says that Biden’s, and this is a quote, politically motivated persecution of his political rival is very good for Russia because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy.”
Along with name-dropping Putin, the former president also mentioned two other authoritarian figures during his rally: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán. He called Kim “very nice” and Orbán “highly respected,” adding that the latter said “Trump is the man who can save the western world.”
The Republicans love to preserve the Confederacy. Donald J. Trump had considered it a punishable offense if protesters destroyed Confederate monuments. Mind you, Black men who support separatist views support the former president. This would not change their minds.
The U.S. Department of Defense has formally removed names of Confederate soliders and leaders from U.S. military bases. It has brought conservative outrage due to their opposition of WOKE ideology.
So Arlington National Cemetery is removing a Confederate Memorial. It has drawn the ire of Glenn Youngkin, the Republican governor of Virginia.
A woman representing the American South, standing atop a 32-foot pedestal, lords above most other monuments within America’s most revered resting place. It portrays, according to the cemetery’s website, a “mythologized vision of the Confederacy, including highly sanitized depictions of slavery.”
This month, 44 Republican lawmakers cautioned Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the first African American to hold the post, that the Pentagon would overstep its authority by removing the memorial and they demanded that all efforts to do so stop until Congress works through next year’s appropriations bill. The memorial “commemorates reconciliation and national unity,” not the Confederacy per se, the group led by Rep. Andrew S. Clyde (R-GA) claimed.
The Army, which operates Arlington Cemetery, informed lawmakers Friday that it would proceed with the monument’s removal, officials told The Washington Post, because it was required by the end of the year to comply with a law to identify and remove assets that commemorate the Confederacy. A congressional commission had previously decided the memorial met the criteria for removal. The task will cost $3 million.
These officials spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue. They said out of an abundance of caution that security at the cemetery would be enhanced when the work begins in coming days.
Workers will remove the memorial’s bronze elements and leave its granite base in place to avoid damaging nearby gravesites, officials said. The Army is coordinating with the state of Virginia and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, a federal agency, to relocate it to New Market Battlefield State Park. The site is about 100 miles west of Arlington.
Removal of the memorial was recommended by a bipartisan congressional commission appointed after the police murder of George Floyd in 2020 was followed by a wide-scale reckoning with the nation’s history of racism, and it marks a significant moment in the Defense Department’s mission to cleanse the U.S. military of Confederate iconography.
The commission found about 1,100 assets that commemorate the Confederacy, including base names and street signs, and advised the Pentagon on what should be removed or changed. The memorial at Arlington was the last significant item on that list, Army officials said, and its ouster comes just before the Jan. 1. deadline set by Congress.

Three years ago, Hannah Payne took it upon herself to chase a man who caused a hit and run accident. The white woman followed the Black motorist to an onramp near Interstate 285 in Atlanta. She shot him multiple times while engaging in a verbal confrontation with Kenneth Herring.
Instead of writing down his license plate, taking photos and calling 911, Payne shot him and then claim self defense. That did not work in a jury trial against her. A
The 2019 incident in Clayton County began with a minor car crash with a semi-truck that was reportedly caused by Herring running a red light in his Dodge Dakota pickup truck. Payne was not involved in the crash, but said she witnessed it and pulled over to call 911.
Payne testified that a corrections officer who also witnessed the crash told her the man was "OK, but... definitely inebriated” as they waited at the scene.
This led Payne and the semi-truck driver to ask at the same time, “Do you mean he’s drunk?”
Meanwhile, the state corrections officer testified that Herring was displaying symptoms of a diabetic shock. He said the man’s eyes were red-orange, he appeared disoriented, and he had circled his truck several times before he drove off.
Thanks to an eyewitness and her cellphone showing the encounter, it totally destroyed everything that Payne was trying to assert. She found out her fate.
Justice is served.
Payne was found guilty of murder and vehicular manslaughter. Payne was convicted on two counts of felony murder, three counts of possession of a weapon during a crime, and one count each of malice murder, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment.
Payne was sentenced to LIFE in the iron college with a slim possibility of parole. She must serve 30 years, wait an additional 13 years to have a parole hearing and hopeful family members of Herring offer leniency.
Her white women tears did not save her.
Clayton County Judge Jewel Scott had this trial delayed due to Payne and her lawyers playing fucking games.

Iowa governor Kim Reynolds decided to place a Nativity scene inside the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. The intention was celebrate Christianity and freedom. The Satanic Temple of Iowa protested and petitioned for its display to placed inside the state capitol.
It was granted and they placed a display of Baphomet inside the building.
Reynolds hated it but stated that it was freedom of speech. She called upon Iowans to pray around it and pretend it didn't exist. That is a protected right.

One, Reynolds endorsed Florida governor Ron DeSantis over Donald J. Trump.
Two, the placing of Satanic characters is a gift to the QAnon, Moms for Liberty and Tea Party Patriots to rally against.

A man damages the Satanic holiday display. Michael Cassidy, 35, of Lauderdale, Mississippi, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, KCCI reported. He has since been released. The moron traveled 835 miles to damage a display.
The Satanic Temple of Iowa posted on their Facebook page: “This morning, we were informed by authorities that the Baphomet statue in our holiday display was destroyed beyond repair. We are proud to continue our holiday display for the next few days that we have been allotted. We ask that for safety, visitors travel together and use the 7 Tenets as a reminder for empathy, in the knowledge that justice is being pursued the correct way, through legal means.”
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Satanic Temple of Greater Memphis also has generated outrage from some in the west Tennessee city. Memphis with a population of 614,000 and a 60% African American majority, is outraged over an After School Satanic Club inside a Memphis-Shelby County school. Chimmeyrock Elementary School will host the group on Jan. 10.
Memphis residents are outraged.
The Satanic Temple said it doesn’t teach anything about Satan to kids in the club, but instead focuses on projects for the community. Regardless, parents are frustrated.
The first time several parents heard about the club was on social media, not from the school.
“I was floored,” Chimneyrock grandparent Tonya Vester said. “I was floored by hearing about that.”
Many parents first heard about After School Satan Club while scrolling through Facebook.
“My grandson showed me this earlier; he’d seen something on Facebook,” Chimneyrock grandparent Jenny Kincaid said. “I thought it was a joke, and I didn’t believe it.”
Others got a call from a friend or relative leading them to check their class communication app, where a message from the district read:
“Dear Chimneyrock Family,
We understand that some of you have questions regarding the recent approval of a facility rental to The Satanic Temple, a federally recognized non-profit organization.
As a public school district, we're committed to upholding the principles of the First Amendment, which guarantees equal access to all non-profit organizations seeking to use our facilities after school hours. This means we cannot approve or deny an organization’s request based solely on its viewpoints or beliefs.
American Satanists Lucian Greaves and Michelle Shortt. They often challenge states that deny their rights to worship.
Board Policy 7002 outlines this commitment, allowing community groups and government entities to rent school property outside of school hours. These gatherings are not school-sponsored and are not endorsed or promoted by Memphis-Shelby County Schools.

However, this doesn’t offer any relief for Kincaid.

After School Satan Club’s June Everett said it’s no different than programs already allowed on campus.
“After School Satan Club is an alternative to the evangelical clubs that are in thousands of schools across the United States," Everett said. "Chimneyrock does have the Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Club operating before school on campus I believe once a week.”
Everett said some parents weren’t happy with the Child Evangelism Fellowship Good News Club, so they reached out to The Satanic Temple for a new one.
“So, for the parents that are upset, I encourage them to take a deeper dive into what we're all about," Everett said. "Some of the activities that we’ve done in the past - we did dog tie ropes where the kiddos made these ropes for the dogs to play tug of war with at a local animal shelter. We’ve made cards for sick children and then given them to the hospital.”
The club is abiding by MSCS policies and is allowed on campus after school. The After School Satan Club has its first meeting on Jan. 10 at Chimneyrock Elementary.
In the first day flyers were sent out about the club, they already have three students signed up for the new year.

"We’re very grateful to the jury for taking the time out of their busy lives to do their civic duty to listen to everything that we’ve been going through," she said, adding her "greatest wish" is that no election worker “ever experiences anything like what we went through.”
The amount awarded to Freeman and Moss was for three different kinds of damages — defamation, punitive and emotional distress. The plaintiffs were awarded $20 million each for emotional distress, and $75 million between them in punitive damages. Freeman was separately awarded just over $16 million in defamation damages, while Moss was awarded almost $17 million.
Giuliani called the dollar amount "absurd" and told reporters he would appeal.
Freeman testified Wednesday that she was terrorized by Trump supporters and forced to move from her home because of Giuliani’s smears. “I was scared to come home at dark, you know,” a visibly emotional Freeman said on the witness stand. “I was just scared, I knew I had to move.”
Their attorney, Michael Gottlieb, said in his closing argument that Giuliani had “no right to offer up defenseless civil servants up to a virtual mob in order to overturn an election.” He urged the jurors to “send a message” with their verdict.
They still are targeted by the far right despite this.
He said the mother and daughter should each get at least $24 million in damages for Giuliani’s defamatory statements, as well as additional money for intentional infliction of emotional distress and punitive damages claims.
Giuliani, who led Trump’s legal team after his 2020 election loss, initially said he would testify in the case, but ultimately decided against it.
In his opening statement, Giuliani attorney Joseph Sibley said a large verdict would be the “civil equivalent of the death penalty” for his client. “It would be the end of Mr. Giuliani,” Sibley said.
He acknowledged in his closing argument that “my client has committed wrongful conduct against” the pair and had “harmed” them, but asked the jury to keep in mind the good Giuliani had done in his lifetime.
He told them the message he believed they should send is, “You should have been better, but you’re not as bad as the plaintiffs are making you out to be.”
The only issue the jury had to determine was money damages.
U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell in August found Giuliani liable for defaming the pair after the defendant repeatedly snubbed court orders to turn over required evidence to Freeman and Moss.
“Just as taking shortcuts to win an election carries risks — even potential criminal liability — bypassing the discovery process carries serious sanctions,” she added.
Giuliani had repeatedly accused the pair of election fraud in the wake of Trump’s loss in Georgia, and circulated a brief, heavily edited clip of security footage that he told a legislative committee in Georgia showed them passing USB drives “like vials of heroin or cocaine” during ballot-counting operations. Moss said the “USB drive” was actually a ginger mint.
Despite findings from the pair’s former bosses and a yearslong investigation that they did nothing wrong, Giuliani has continued to accuse them of being fraudsters. In remarks to reporters after the first day of trial on Monday, Giuliani said, “When I testify, you’ll get the whole story, and it will be definitively clear what I said was true.”
After the verdict, Giuliani said he didn't testify because he was worried the judge would find him in contempt, and complained that he hadn't been allowed to enter evidence that his allegations were true, despite his not having turned over any such evidence before trial.
"The absurdity of the number merely underscores the absurdity of the entire proceeding where I’ve not been allowed to offer one single piece of evidence in defense, of which I have a lot," he said. Giuliani also disavowed any responsibility for the "deplorable" threats made to Freeman and Moss. "I had nothing to do with this comments," he said.
The verdict compounds a bleak financial picture for the former New York City mayor, who's said that his efforts to overturn the 2020 election has taken a toll on his finances at a time when he's facing a number of legal challenges.
He has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges alongside Trump and others in the Georgia case accusing them of trying to illegally overturn the results of the election in the state. Part of the charges against Giuliani there include his false claims about Freeman.
Giuliani is also being sued by Smartmatic and Dominion Voting Systems for his election claims, as well as by Hunter Biden over alleged computer fraud and release of personal information. Additionally, Giuliani is being sued by a former assistant who accused him of sexually assaulting her, allegations that an aide to the former mayor says he “unequivocally denies.”
Giuliani has had his law licenses suspended in New York and Washington, D.C., and is fighting disbarment. His longtime lawyer has sued him and dropped him, and Giuliani has listed his New York City apartment for sale, at $6.1 million.
Trump did not pay him directly for his work fighting the 2020 election results, but hosted a fundraiser for him in September that Giuliani's son said raised over $1 million.
Giuliani cited his financial problems as one of the reasons he wasn't able to comply with Howell's discovery orders in the defamation case, but never turned over his financial information to support that argument.

I am just done with him. I am done with President Joe Biden and it is a damn shame that my red line is foreign influence. I can get over the fact I work two jobs to survive. A Georgia teacher is facing criminal charges for allegedly threatening to behead a student because she protested him hanging the Israeli flag in the hallway.
According to the Houston County Sheriff's Office, Benjamin Reese is a 7th-grade social studies teacher at Warner Robins Middle School. He was arrested on Dec. 8.
Several witnesses said they overheard Reese shouting "You motherfucking piece of shit! I'll kick your ass. I should cut your motherfucking head off," around students on Friday.
According to the incident report, at around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 7, a deputy was on duty when he was informed Reese threatened a child's life. It happened in the 7th-grade technical hallway when students were on their way back to the 8th-grade hallway.
The report says a student wanted to talk to Reese about the Israeli flag in his classroom and told him she found it offensive.
Reese asked her if it had anything to do with Judaism. She wanted to know why it was hanging there, and Reese told the student he was Jewish and had family members who still lived in Israel.
The student says she found the flag offensive "due to Israelis killing Palestinians."
Reese then told the student she was being antisemitic.
After that, several different witnesses independently said they heard Reese say, "he would kick her fucking ass, slit her goddamn throat and drag her ass outside and cut her head off."
A faculty member says she heard Reese say, "You don't make an antisemitic comment like that to a Jew." The witness says the student responded negatively to Reese but was not yelling.
The witness says the students left the classroom, but Reese followed them down the hallway.
The same witness says Reese was later seen returning to his classroom, cursing extremely loudly. The witness says he was yelling that he "should not be spoken to like that because he is a Jew."
He went on saying, "I will drag her ass into the parking lot, slit her fucking throat and kill her."
A deputy at the school interviewed several witnesses and they said they heard Reese make similar statements. They included other teachers, staff members and students who were in class for tutoring or after-school detention.
The deputy reviewed video from the hallway of what happened.
The video has no audio but it showed Reese yelling down the hallway and heading back into his classroom.
The deputy informed the principal, Brett Wallace, about what happened. He also talked to Reese in his classroom with Wallace present.
Wallace asked Reese if he threatened students, and the report says Reese became very defensive.
Wallace asked who Reese had last spoken to, and he denied speaking to anyone.
He then told Wallace and the deputy that there was a student who found the Israeli flag in his classroom offensive. Reese told the student they were being antisemitic.
Reese went on to say that he did not say anything racist and that he had spoken to another teacher about the issue.
The deputy then led Reese from the hallway to his classroom. The report says Reese was angry about the situation and "kicked the door stopper in an aggressive manner."
When the deputy asked what happened between Reese and the student, Reese asked if the deputy was asking as an SRO (School Resource Officer), or as an officer. The deputy said both, and Reese said he had nothing further to say and invoked his civil rights.
Reese then walked away without saying anything else, the report says.
Witnesses included other students and teachers with their classroom doors open. Some witnesses say the students were shocked to hear those words from Reese.
A judge set Reese's bond at $2,500 for the terroristic threat charge and $5,000 for the charge of cruelty to children. Reese bonded out.
The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
President Joe Biden is down in the polls. He is taking hits for his stance on Israel, the economy, his policies and his ability to govern. Yet, he has a better chance of being reelected thanks to the Republican Party and its obsession with conspiracy theories and their failure to govern.

Ousting Kevin McCarthy and replacing him with Mike Johnson, U.S. Representative from Louisiana and current U.S. House Speaker was a huge mistake. He and McCarthy will be unremarkable in accomplishments.
And yet, the Republicans and conservative agitators were vilifying an effective House Speaker like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Pelosi did more as a Speaker than her six Republican members.
Newt Gingrich, Dennis Hastert, John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy and Mike Johnson are disgraceful. They will never accomplish anything memorable.
The House of Representatives voted on Wednesday to formally authorize its ongoing impeachment inquiry into Biden, as Republicans unite behind the effort even though they have yet to find evidence of wrongdoing by the Democrat.
The Republican-controlled chamber voted 221-212 along party lines to approve the probe, which is examining whether Biden improperly benefited from his 53-year-old son Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings, hours after the younger Biden refused a call to testify behind closed doors.
The White House has dismissed the inquiry as unsubstantiated by facts and politically motivated. Biden is preparing for a possible 2024 election rematch with his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump. Trump is the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice and is currently preparing for four upcoming criminal trials.
The effort will almost certainly fail to remove Biden from office. Even if the House votes to impeach the president, the Senate would then have to vote to convict him on the charges by a two-thirds vote — a near-impossibility in a chamber where Biden's fellow Democrats hold a 51-49 majority.
But it could help Republicans highlight their allegations of corruption through much of the 2024 campaign.
Biden has enough problems.
The vote comes three months after Republicans informally began the probe and is not a required step to remove a president or other official from office.
However, authorization could give Republicans more legal authority to force Biden's administration to cooperate and could help to counter accusations from Democrats who say it lacks legitimacy.
House Republicans allege that Biden and his family profited from his actions when he served as President Barack Obama's vice president from 2009 to 2017 and they have zeroed in on his son's business ventures in Ukraine and China during that period.
The evidence presented shows that [former vice president] Biden has gotten two checks from Sara and James Biden in 2018. Trump was president from 2017 until 2021. Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States released their taxes during the 2020 presidential race.
The Republicans showed inappropriate images of Hunter Biden during committee hearings. They have no interest in investigating Jared and Ivanka Kushner. Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are family of Donald J. Trump. They are former government officials and have earned a reasonable amount within their service.
Hunter Biden is a private citizen who had nothing to do with his father's activities.
Miranda Devine, Rudy Giuliani, Steve Bannon, Sara A. Carter, John Paul Mac Isaac, Sean "Softball" Hannity, Viktor Shokin, Andrii Derkach, Donald Trump, Jr., Eric Trump, Ronna McDaniel and John Solomon are the reasons for the Republican Party's conspiracy theories about Biden.
Hunter Biden, who has described his struggles with drug and alcohol addiction, has also been the subject of a years-long criminal investigation.
He faces federal charges that he lied about his drug use while buying a handgun and separate charges of failing to pay $1.4 million in taxes. He has pleaded not guilty to the gun charges, and his lawyer says he has repaid his taxes in full.
"In the depths of my addiction, I was extremely irresponsible with my finances. But to suggest that is grounds for an impeachment inquiry is beyond the absurd. It's shameless," he said.
Biden is using Israeli tactics when it comes to immigration.

The Biden administration on Tuesday indicated to congressional lawmakers that it would be willing to support a new border authority to expel migrants without asylum screenings, as well as a dramatic expansion of immigration detention and deportations, to convince Republicans to back aid to Ukraine, four people familiar with the matter told CBS News.
House and Senate Republicans will pass aid for Israel but stop short of Ukraine.
The White House informed Senate Democrats that it could back those sweeping and hardline immigration policy changes as part of the negotiations over President Biden's emergency funding request, a roughly $100 billion package that includes military aid to Israel, Taiwan and Ukraine, as well as money to bolster border enforcement and hire additional immigration officials.
For weeks, a small group of senators have been attempting to reach an immigration enforcement deal. Republicans have conditioned any further assistance to Ukraine to policy changes designed to reduce the unprecedented levels of illegal crossings along the southern border.
During a press conference at the White House on Tuesday, Mr. Biden said his team is "working with Senate Democrats and Republicans to try to find a bipartisan compromise, both in terms of changes in policy and [to] provide the resources we need to secure the border." He said he has "offered compromise already," adding that "holding Ukraine funding hostage in an attempt to force through an extreme Republican partisan agenda on the border is not how it works — we need real solutions."
President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden officially declares the Republicans are the party of "no shame." He is in Washington, DC speaking out to the House committee's subpoena.

Republicans do not want an open process where Americans can see their tactics, expose their baseless inquiry, or hear what I have to say. What are they afraid of? I’m here. I’m ready.”
