The world famous model Naomi Campbell welcomes her first child. The actress, model and media personality welcomed her child in an unexpected surprise birth.
Naomi Elaine Campbell is a British model, actress and businesswoman. Discovered at the age of 15, she established herself amongst the most recognisable and in-demand models of the late 1980s, the 1990s and the earlier 2000s including modern day. Her birthday is May 22.
On social media, Campbell wrote, "So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
It's the first child for the supermodel who has made no public acknowledgement of the baby. The brith comes just a few days before her birthday.
Campbell had hinted that she wanted to be mother for some time. She told the Evening Standard that she had considered having a baby rather than adopting. "I think about having children all the time...But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want," she said.
Campbell's friends and supporters congratulate her on the birth of her child.
Campbell was rumored to be dating rapper and actor Skepta. The supermodel have not confirmed the father of the child but it was Skepta who posted on social media a sonogram of the fetus in 2018.
Campbell shut down rumors of the relationship in 2018.
Skepta born Joseph Junior Adenuga, 38, is a British grime MC, rapper, songwriter and record producer from Tottenham, North London. Skepta, alongside his younger brother Jme, joined Roll Deep for a short period of time before becoming founding members of Boy Better Know in 2005.
We wish Naomi Campbell a successful journey into motherhood.

Amtrak wants to return to two Ohio cities that lost rail service over 40 years ago.
President Joe Biden is an avid supporter of Amtrak and is pushing for greener energy and smart infrastructure through the American Jobs Plan. The president is hoping to get Amtrak to build back better.
Norfolk Southern Railroad abandoned six miles of track east of Dayton. The city wants to turn it from rail-to-trail. The cost of the rail is over 5 million but the city wants to negotiate it for less than that. It's been abandoned for over 15 years.
I was born in 1980. That would be about the time Amtrak officially left the city of Dayton. The line that connected New York to Kansas City passed through Dayton and the larger city of Columbus. Train service ceased soon after. Then freight rail services CSX and Norfolk Southern officially abandoned rail lines in parts of Dayton.
Now Amtrak is keen on getting passenger rail service back to these cities by 2025.
"This is a chance to rectify what we see as a great omission in Amtrak's rail network," said Stephen Gardner, Amtrak President at a press conference with Ohio mayors and town planners. "Our goal here is to achieve this vision by 2025, and we are looking for support at local level and federal partners, creating long-term partners."
Amtrak CEO Bill Flynn said they had spent the last three years developing this strategy.
The rail services are mostly focused on shipping goods from Chicago, Cincinnati, Detroit, Toronto and Columbus.
Columbus is the 14th largest city in the country. It has a population of 1.02 million people.
Columbus and Phoenix with a population of 1.9 million have no Amtrak service.
Republican governor Karen DeWine is not too keen on bringing Amtrak back to Columbus and Dayton.
Ohio had an opportunity during former governor Karen Kasich's administration to accept $400 million in federal high-speed rail funding and begin a passenger program by 2012. This time the situation is different, with the push coming from Amtrak rather than from advocates within the state, said Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley at the press conference announcement.
Dayton used to have an Amtrak station over 40 years ago. It appears the train service wants to come back.
Whaley is running for governor of Ohio and is no longer interesting in ruining Dayton.
Amtrak was created 50 years ago to create the network that connects the country. They have 32 million riders on state-supported routes and corridors. The company works in partnership with states and communities, and it will need local support in Ohio to give the best service.
Mayors from three Ohio cities — Dayton, Crestline, Cleveland — took part in the conference, as well as the Executive Director of the Mid-Ohio Planning Commission, with Mayor Andrew Ginther of Columbus sending a letter of support.
At the moment, assuming Amtrak has rights under law, its trains can travel at 79 miles per hour maximum along the route. Although Ohio lost its passenger rail from Columbus, its freight capability is well-established.
"Our aim is to get to and deliver trip-time competitive service to within half hour give or take driving time," said Gardner. "And the time on the train is productive time," he said, pointing out that: "…the younger generation is not interested in driving."
"This route has infrastructure. If you look at 1950s and 60s those trip times were done. It will take commitment and support. If we have that in place, we are ready to focus aggressively to making service in Ohio happen." Gardner said.
William Murdock, of MORPC said that the prosperity of the region depends on this infrastructure. "Not being on that network puts us at a disadvantage. We don't have minimum infrastructure compared with places that we compete with.
"In Columbus, we've been focused on building connections and giving people robust options if they don't want to drive or can't fly. We know our residents and businesses are both clamoring for this.
"Amtrak looking at Ohio and investing in Ohio makes a lot of sense. This makes common sense. It's really important to rural areas and smaller metros to give them access to jobs and services.
"This corridor is one of the most strong potential ridership markets that Amtrak can look at. If we can't add passenger rail, we can't leverage hubs like Wright-Patt. Passenger rail gives us an opportunity to improve freight at the same time. Things are mutually compatible. We have 30 major letters of support from cities that want the interior of Ohio served," Murdock said.
A shame that hat fits the size of an idiot. Karen Abbot signs an abortion law that will be challenged in courts.

The governor of Texas, Karen Abbott signs off an extreme abortion regulation which is expected to face a court challenge and a fast track to the Supreme Court. This idiot better focus on the floodings in his state. But of course, he's working on banning the notion of climate change. The same idiot who wants to ban mask usage in the state of Texas wants to get in between a woman's health and choice.
A bunch of ten gallon hats on a bunch of ten gallon idiots. The state that left millions with power, basic running water. The state that left a massive gap in the scenic nature due to the stalling of the American taxpayer (not Mexico) border wall. The state that is considered the lowest in vaccination. The state that passed restrictions on voting. The state that deregulated the power grid. The state that wants struggling Americans in a pandemic to lose their safety net if they can't find a job that pays a decent wage. The state that bans a transgender child from playing in sports according to their gender. The state that allows more firearms in public buildings, bars, schools and churches. Now this is the state where a woman who wants to get a termination of a pregnancy will face criminal charges and so will her provider.
What the fuck is going on in the state of Texas?
What are these crazy ass Karens doing?
We have more important issues in the country but these white nationalists Republicans want to dust off their old playbook and continue to keep these extremists mad with the culture wars.
Why is a medical procedure is considered controversial?
When women are pregnant, could be a blessing or a curse?
I am not for termination but I do sympathize with a woman for making it. It is a life altering experience for a woman to have to terminate their child. No woman wants to give up her fetus.
Abortions are not often seen as a health issue. Many of these moralists see that a murder of an unborn. Women rights groups see it as a medical procedure that saves women's lives.
It is a painful procedure. The provider offers either a pill that forces a woman to ejected the fetus or a suction which goes into a woman's uterus and pulls the fetus directly out of cervix. The suction is extremely painful.
When women seek these providers, they could be accosted by moralists at the door. The courts allows moralists to protest near these facilities. As long as they are not directly entering the facility, they are entitled to "shame" and complain.
Women have to enter a facility. Women go through a metal detector. Women are ordered to leave cell phones and electronic devices at the security desk. Women are told to read a pamphlet discussing options like adoption, the possibility of damage towards the body and sexually transmitted diseases. Women are not allowed to eat food or drink before a procedure.
The healing takes up to five weeks.
Some women seek termination due to medical issues or sexual abuse. Being pregnant is a life or death experience. The television makes it seem like its a joy in the park. No it's not.
A woman who raped by a predator can get pregnant. So if this law is in effect, they will not allow a termination in the cases of rape or incest. Okay, a woman's trimester can be from two weeks to 20 weeks. So if a woman does get pregnant but is unaware due to a late trimester, she has only six weeks to make it to a state licensed obstetrician/gynecologist to seek medical help.
It bungles the mind that these self righteous hypocrites care more about meddling in a woman's body than to protect the living child. Children face hunger, gun violence and poverty in many parts of the country.
These moralists are so wrapped up in their phony, hypocritical and amoral behavior, they are unaware that society is going to wipe them out.
Texas is growing with non-white Hispanics. Within 20 years, the state will be for the first time, not longer white majority. The U.S. in general will see Hispanics become a large demographic as well as African Americans.
These idiots think pushing these draconian laws are going to stop termination. They ain't got a clue or a prayer.
Abbott on Wednesday signed into law a so-called "heartbeat ban" abortion bill -- barring most abortions at the onset of a fetal heartbeat, which can occur as early as six weeks into pregnancy and before many people know they are pregnant.
"Our creator endowed us with the right to life and yet millions of children lose their right to life every year because of abortion," Abbott said. "In Texas, we work to save those lives. And that's exactly what the Texas legislature did this session."
The Texas bill, SB 8, requires that abortion providers check for a fetal heartbeat before performing an abortion, and bans them from carrying out the procedure if one is detected. It makes exceptions "if a physician believes a medical emergency exists," but not for instances of rape or incest, citing that "public and private agencies provide ... emergency contraception for victims of rape or incest."
The measure joins a growing cohort of state abortion bans in 2021, with many Republican-led state legislatures advancing restrictions on the procedure at a renewed pace that could eclipse the similar wave seen in 2019. The bills run starkly counter to -- and largely seek to overturn -- Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion nationwide prior to viability, which typically occurs at around 24 weeks of pregnancy.
Abbott's signature also comes on the heels of the Supreme Court on Monday agreeing to take up a key abortion case next term concerning a controversial Mississippi law that banned most abortions after 15 weeks, rekindling a potentially major challenge to Roe in front of the majority conservative court. The court's announcement is only expected to intensify the growing trend of state-level abortion restrictions coming out of Republican-controlled legislatures, according to activists on both sides of the issue.
Texas joins South Carolina, Oklahoma and Idaho in codifying bans this year on abortion at the onset of a fetal heartbeat. Also this year, Arkansas and Oklahoma have enacted near-total abortion bans, and Montana banned the procedure at 20 weeks. None of the bills have gone into effect, either because of court actions or later effective dates. Neither have any of the 10 gestational bans, which bar abortions past a certain point in pregnancy, that passed in 2019 and 2020.
Abortion rights supporters slammed the bill, with Diana Gómez, advocacy manager at Progress Texas, asserting that "this abortion ban contains some of the most extreme abortion restrictions in the country."
"Let me be clear: Abortion is health care and it is still legal in Texas," she said in a statement. "This six-week abortion ban is unconstitutional and others like it have been struck down by federal courts across the nation. Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land and regardless of whatever bill Gov. Abbott signs, no law will stop abortions from happening."
An all white reception when Abbott signs off this law.
Among the increasingly common heartbeat bans passed this year, however, Texas' bill is unique in that it includes a provision opening anyone who aided in accessing such an abortion to legal liability.
It allows for civil charges to be brought against those who provide abortions after the detection of fetal heartbeats, as well as anyone who "knowingly engages in conduct that aids or abets the performance or inducement of an abortion, including paying for or reimbursing the costs of an abortion through insurance or otherwise," after the onset of a fetal heartbeat. Those found guilty would face a $10,000 fine for each abortion performed or facilitated.
The bill would allow nearly anyone other than a Texas government official to file a lawsuit regarding any abortion allegedly violating the heartbeat ban, with the Texas House adding an amendment that says a perpetrator of rape or incest cannot file a lawsuit against those providing or facilitating their victim's abortion should it violate the heartbeat ban.
The Texas House passed the bill earlier this month. Republican state Rep. Shelby Slawson introduced the bill in the House to applause and whoops, saying it would "protect the lives of our most precious Texans, starting at the moment their heart begins to beat."
Multiple Texas House Democrats decried the measure going into the vote. When Slawson said that people who successfully bring claims against those who provide or facilitate abortions in violation of the heartbeat ban would receive the $10,000 sum dictated by the bill, Democratic state Rep. Nicole Collier said that "it's just like a lottery, basically."
"There will always be women who will pursue having abortions despite what you do here today and what you've been doing for a decade to create all these obstructions," said state Democratic Rep. Donna Howard, a former nurse. "It will always be a case that women will seek abortions, because women are not always in a position to have that baby. And you guys don't have to have them, we do. It affects our lives."
Texas state Sen. Bryan Hughes, the bill's sponsor in the Senate, told CNN before the bill's signing that "it was time for Texas to pass a heartbeat bill. We looked at what other states had done, looked at what the Supreme Court and other federal courts have said about abortion and what states can do, and took all that into account to come up with Senate Bill 8."
The Supreme Court could gut Roe v. Wade with Washed Up 45's picks of Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.
Regarding the lack of exceptions for rape and incest victims, Hughes said, "Let's do everything we can to hold people accountable who do something like that, to protect women from that," adding, "Let's harshly punish the rapist, but we don't, we don't punish the unborn child."
Pointing to Texas laws regarding Medicaid fraud and religious freedom that he said similarly allow any person to file suit over alleged violations, Hughes said that the provision in SB8 "is to encourage people to bring these claims. So the Legislature has made it, has determined that illegal abortions should be discouraged, and so enabling private citizens to bring those suits is one way to do that."
That same provision, he believes, could get the bill farther along in an anticipated court challenge, based on signs from higher courts that have considered similar restrictions.
"Based on what we read in court opinions from other abortion cases, and other federal cases, we believe this bill -- because of the private civil enforcement, primarily, and a few other things -- is drafted differently than those other heartbeat bills that are pending, that are awaiting court ruling today," he said.
Leaders of Texas abortion funds -- which help pay for the procedure and related expenses for abortion seekers who cannot afford them -- have decried the bill as putting their organizations, as well as abortion seekers' friends, in legal jeopardy.
The bill "allows literally anyone, including non-Texas residents who maybe have zero connection to the person having an abortion, it allows them to use lawsuits to harass people who help people access abortion care after six weeks," Amanda Williams, executive director of the Lilith Fund, told CNN. "That would also obviously include us, as an abortion fund, who helps people access abortion care."
"These are expensive. This is our time and our resources," she said of hypothetical challenges against the group, which she noted does not have a legal budget. "If we were to be hit by frivolous lawsuits left and right, I mean, this would really prevent us from doing our work in a lot of ways."

Veteran star of stage and screen Charles Grodin died Tuesday of bone marrow cancer at the age of 86 at his Wilton, Connecticut, home.
Actor Nick Grodin, the elder Grodin’s son, confirmed his father’s passing to The New York Times.
Charles Grodin’s career spanned more than six decades and included memorable roles in such popular movies as “Midnight Run,” “Beethoven” and “The Heartbreak Kid,” as well Broadway’s “Same Time, Next Year.”
According to the Times, Grodin also had his own talk show in the 1990s and became a popular fixture on the broader talk show circuit, appearing 36 times on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and 17 times on “Late Night With David Letterman.”
Grodin was also an Emmy Award-winning writer, sharing a 1977 statuette with six others for a 1977 Paul Simon television special, who penned numerous plays and books throughout his professional career. His published works include 1989′s “It Would Be So Nice If You Weren’t Here,” 1992′s “How I Get Through Life,” 1993′s “Freddie the Fly” and 2009′s “How I Got to Be Whoever It Is I Am,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Pittsburgh native, who dropped out of the University of Miami to pursue acting, received his first big break in 1962, when he landed a part in Broadway’s “Tchin-Tchin,” starring Anthony Quinn and Margaret Leighton.
Other career highlights included quirky, often awkward, roles in Neil Simon’s “Seems Like Old Times;” Albert Brooks’ mockumentary of a typical American family, “Real Life;” “Heaven Can Wait,” opposite Warren Beatty; “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Great Muppet Caper,” THR reported.
Grodin was born April 21, 1935, and studied acting on scholarship at the Pittsburgh Playhouse School of Theatre, before studying with Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg in New York, the outlet reported.
One thing best known about Grodin was his passion to call out bullshit.
Sean "Softball" Hannity made a promise to Charles Grodin that he will be waterboarded for charity. Turns out that the annoying agitator never done it.
Remember back in the day, Grodin went to Fox News to debate Sean "Softball" Hannity over torture. The white nationalist claims "enhanced interrogation" saved lives. Gordin strongly disagreed with the assertion. He literally said to the agitator that torture is wrong. The softball said he would be waterboarded for charity.
Shame Gordin did live to see that happen. Obviously, the softball is a coward. That's why he is the most annoying media personality ever.
In August, I will make sure this will come up in the Sean Hannity Word Vomit.
I'll be doing it in my underwear (to paraphrase that agitator), watching Clifford and laughing at Charles Grodin and Martin Short.

North Carolina, you need to vote out these white nationalists in state, federal and local governments. Do not trust the words of any Republican elected politician. Do not trust the word of any Democratic elected politician. Hold them accountable and force them to make changes to the status quo. This prosecutor will find a challenger coming up in the 2022 elections.
A white nationalist prosecutor has declined to indict the deputies who shot and killed Andrew Brown, Jr. in a no-knock raid.
Brown, 42, was killed while behind the wheel of his car on April 21 in Elizabeth City as Pasquotank County sheriff's deputies were serving a warrant for his arrest on felony drug charges.
State prosecutor Andrew Womble won't charge the cops. He blamed Brown for his own demise.
Republican District Attorney Andrew Womble said Brown's shooting death, "while tragic," was "justified due to his actions."
"No officers will be criminally charged," Womble said. "The officers' actions were consistent with their training and fully supported under law."
Deputies had wanted to arrest Brown the night before but he didn't return to his home in a residential neighborhood in Elizabeth City, which is about 35 miles south of Norfolk, Virginia, according to the prosecutor.
And deputies, in the moments they confronted Brown, had reason to believe his car could be used as a deadly weapon, Womble said.
"The deputies faced both actual and apparent danger as perceived by them on the scene," Womble said. "This apparent threat was reinforced by Brown's dangerous and felonious use of a deadly weapon. As tragic as this incident is with the loss of life, the deputies on scene were nonetheless justified in defending themselves from death or great bodily injury."
Brown's family said in statement that Womble did nothing but "whitewash" the facts of the case.
"Andrew Brown Jr., his grieving family, and this community deserve answers," according to the family statement.
"And they received anything but from D.A. Womble’s attempt to whitewash this unjustified killing. To say this shooting was justified, despite the known facts, is both an insult and a slap in the face to Andrew’s family, the Elizabeth City community, and to rational people everywhere."
Womble cited case law that grants police wide discretion in using deadly force against a fleeing suspect.
"Once a threat is perceived … and the officers fire the first shot, if the first shot is justified, the last shot is justified until the threat is extinguished," Womble said.
But Duke University School of Law professor Jim Coleman challenged Womble's claim that deputies were being threatened when Brown was fatally shot in the back of the head.
Cops roll deep when they arrived to Andrew Brown's home.
“But the question is, when is that threat extinguished?” said Coleman, who teaches criminal law. “It’s very clear what was going on: He was trying to escape; he was not trying to ram his car into officers.”
Throughout his lengthy presentation, Womble said sheriff's Sgt. Joel Lunsford could have been killed as Brown narrowly missed him early in the confrontation. Brown could have also been a threat to other law enforcement officers, parked in two unmarked cars a short distance away, Womble added.
But Coleman insisted that once Brown missed Lunsford, the suspect didn't need to be killed.
"The people firing from the side and behind, they were never in danger," Coleman said. "The idea that they were doing this to protect the guy whose hand was on the car, that couldn’t have been their thinking. It happened so fast and he had cleared the car by then."
An autopsy commissioned by Brown's family found he was shot five times, once in the back of the head. That report added to the findings of a state death certificate that showed he was shot five times and that Brown's immediate cause of death was a "penetrating gunshot wound of the head."
Sheriff Tommy Wooten has identified three of his deputies who opened fire at Brown that day: Investigator Daniel Meads, Deputy Robert Morgan and Cpl. Aaron Lewellyn.
The deputies fired 14 shots that day, nine from a pair of Glock 17 pistols and five from an AR-15 rifle, Womble said.
Further frustrating Brown's family is that body-worn camera footage of the incident has not been released to the public.
Such law enforcement video in North Carolina isn't classified as a public record, as it is in many states, which typically offer a defined, simple path for such footage to be publicly released.
But that's not the case in North Carolina, which requires a judge's order to allow such footage to be released.
The footage hasn't been formally made available to the public, though Womble on Tuesday showed clips from several body-cam videos to reporters at the Pasquotank County Public Safety Complex in Elizabeth City.
The Brown family called for the videos to made public and for the Justice Department to intervene.
“We demand that the court release the full video and State Bureau of Investigation report that will help shed some much needed daylight on this case and bring a small measure of justice to this family and this community," the Brown family said in its statement Tuesday afternoon.
"Because we certainly got neither transparency nor justice today. We request that the Federal Department of Justice intervene immediately.”
Rev. Al Sharpton delivers the eulogy for Andrew Brown.
Deputies were seeking to arrest Brown for allegedly selling cocaine and fentanyl-laced heroin to an undercover detective on March 17 and 29, according to Womble.
A plastic bag with an "off-white, rock-like substance" was found in Brown's mouth at his autopsy, Womble said.
"The substance was consistent with crystal meth and was the size of a 50-cent piece and too large to swallow," the prosecutor added.
The prosecutor made his decision not to press charges against the deputies based on findings from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
The state agency said in a statement that its role was of an "impartial fact-finder" and would not make any public statements "to agree or disagree with any prosecutor’s decision."
It never stops!
What's the difference between Black and white suspects in police custody?
It never happens in your community....... Until it does! Every community in the United States will eventually have a legacy. A legacy of tragedy. Gun violence and COVID-19 will affect your town, your family and your life. So I don't want to hear that bullshit about how this gun reform is taking away your rights. I don't want to hear that protesting against police killing people of color is hate on cops in general. I don't want to hear talk about the coronavirus being a myth. I don't want hear folks say this is not white privilege. I don't want to hear folks say masks impede their freedoms. I don't want to hear the shit about guns saving lives. These incidents are a tragic part of American history.

We haven't forgotten about the many mass shootings in the United States. COVID-19 doesn't stop individuals from picking up firearms and killing others.
And I am getting fucking tired of white nationalists and their enablers of color complaining about the lack of Black fathers. The fathers are either killed by gun violence, police violence, COVID-19, heart diseases, diabetes, freak accidents and just being Black in America.
The website Officer Down is a memorial to those who were killed in the line of duty. Those who don't get their names mentioned in the junk food media. Also the website the National Gun Violence Memorial also keeps record of the many individuals killed by gun violence.

The former Seminole County tax auditor has taken a plea deal for allegedly sex trafficking and sleeping with an underage girl. His decision to take a plea deal has also brought Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) into the mix.
The Florida white nationalist has found himself in a sex scandal and a federal watch. He is part of the rumored "America First" Caucus and one of the most staunchest supporters of Washed Up 45.
This sexual predator was once the white nationalist lawmaker's friend. The predator plead guilty on Monday to six federal charges in a court hearing, admitting a to federal judge that he had knowingly solicited and paid a minor for sex.
The predator spoke sparingly throughout the 45-minute hearing and with a tone of dejection, responding with "yes" and "I do" as the judge read the details of his plea agreement. He wore a dark jumpsuit and had his hands shackled in front of him.
Douchebag lawmaker denies sleeping with underage girls.
This guilty plea comes after the predator struck a deal to avoid 33 other toppings on this federal sandwich.
He had identity theft to fraud and bribery charges.
As a part of the plea, the predator had agreed to give "substantial assistance" to prosecutors as part of their sprawling investigation, including by testifying at trials or in federal grand juries if needed and in turning over all documents he might have that could help the federal inquiry.
The white nationalist lawmaker who often spends more time outside his district denies he slept with an underage girl. He went to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday complaining about how the federal government is out to get him and the American people.
The white nationalist equates the investigation to lawmakers getting earmarks. So he's saying this a porker case.
"I'm being falsely accused of exchanging money for 'naughty favors.' Yet, Congress has reinstituted a process that legalizes the corrupt act of exchanging money for favors, through earmarks, and everybody knows that that's the corruption."
It's been alleged the sexual predator got in touch with the white nationalist lawmaker when it came to bring on the babes. The alleged victim was 17 year old when the lawmaker had dated her, slept her and took her across state lines. He also been playing in the snow while doing orgies in Florida.
So this Matt Gaetz fellow is an alleged child molester, cokehead, Nancy boy and lazy lawmaker. He has no legislative accomplishments like fellow white nationalist, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
The lawmaker is under federal watch because of this. He maintains no wrong doing.

If we did find extraterrestrial life I can tell you that we're going to be bigots to them! We already hate one another.
On 60 Minutes, they interviewed retired military officials who can definitely can say there's life outside the box.
Luis Elizondo spent 20 years running military intelligence operations worldwide: in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Guantanamo. He hadn't given UFOs a second thought until 2008. That's when he was asked to join something at the Pentagon called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, or "AATIP."
A newly leaked Navy video appears to show an unidentified flying object disappearing into the water off California, according to a clip obtained by a documentary filmmaker and shared with NBC News.
The video was captured in July 2019 by Navy aircraft and recorded in the USS Omaha's Combat Information Center, according to the filmmaker, Jeremy Corbell.
The clip appears to show a spherical object flying above the water for a few minutes near San Diego before it vanishes.
"It splashed," military personnel can be heard saying in the video.
The Defense Department confirmed that the clip was recorded by Navy personnel and said it will be reviewed by the Pentagon's Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force, a panel established last year to "gain insight" into the "nature and origins" of such objects.
The video was published a few days before "60 Minutes" aired an interview with two former Navy pilots who recalled having been dispatched to investigate "multiple anomalous aerial vehicles" that descended 80,000 feet in less than a second. The incident also occurred off San Diego in 2004.
One of the pilots, Cmdr. Dave Fravor, told "60 Minutes" that personnel found a "little white Tic-Tac-looking object" moving above the water before it disappeared. Seconds later, his ship — the USS Princeton — said the object reappeared on its radar 60 miles away.
Christopher Mellon, a top defense official in the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations, said in an interview that there was "a lot of continuity" between recent reports of unidentified objects and reports dating back decades.
"What we're seeing are a number of distinct and different things," he said. "Sometimes we're seeing a 50-foot object that can travel at hypersonic speeds and seemingly go into orbit or come down from altitudes of potentially above 100,000 feet."
Mellon said the stigma associated with reporting such phenomena has long kept witnesses quiet — a sentiment echoed by Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich, one of the Navy pilots interviewed by "60 Minutes."
"Over beers we've said, 'Hey man, if I saw this solo, I don't know that I would have come back and said anything,'" Dietrich said. "Because it sounds so crazy when I say it."
A lengthy story in The New Yorker titled "How the Pentagon Started Taking U.F.O.s Seriously" examined the work of journalist Leslie Kean last month. Kean co-wrote an article in The New York Times four years ago reporting that the Pentagon was spending millions of dollars on a threat identification program to examine unidentified aircraft that moved at high velocities with no apparent signs of propulsion.
