YouTube faces a major scandal and its self-inflicted. The community is outraged over the demonetization policy inflicted by their controversial and wildly popular videos. |
I can testify to the bullshit of YouTube. I was once a person who had monetization on my videos.
Now I don't even do YouTube videos anymore and I will continue to do so because of this.
I still watch videos on YouTube but I am watching it with adBlocker and sometimes avoid the videos in general when ads come up.
Alphabet the parent company of Blogger, Google and YouTube is under fire for its AdSense policy egged on by advertisers who boycotted the company for allowing uncensored and controversial themes on its platform.
The "community" of YouTube is pissed about this discussion. Every YouTube contributor, blogger, celebrity, news organization and simple poster is suffering because of this demonetization policy.
Many of the most popular celebrities are speaking out against YouTube.
They are calling this a backdoor censorship.
The controversy of Milo Yiannopoulos is affecting YouTube as well. The former Breitbart contributor and darling of this White extremist movement labeled the alt-right has driven the discourse and now everyone suffers because of it.
In a politically correct world, many controversial issues such as race, gender, sexuality, religion, economic, and political standings are often watched by millions. YouTube Ad Sense would run advertising before the video. After a story from Wall Street Journal and The Times of London broke a story about how YouTube ran videos of terrorism and politics in which controversial issues were discussed. Some of the companies felt that the videos were inappropriate and they didn't want anything to do with it.
This special algorithm flags videos that aren't considered "family friendly". The government want to eliminate terrorist videos from YouTube. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is a strong advocate of pulling videos from the internet that may recruit terrorists.
Creators fear that this new policy could destroy their shows, their revenue and of course YouTube.
