The jobs report for the month of February shows a modest amount of added employment.

President Joe Biden says that the numbers may be good but it's not enough and he urges Congress to pass the American Rescue Plan.

added 379,000 jobs last month, far more than economists had expected, signaling the labor market recovery is finally gaining steam.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats want the Senate to pass their legislation.

The January numbers were also revised sharply higher to 166,000 added jobs versus 49,000 initially reported.

The leisure and hospitality industry added the most jobs in February with 355,000 new positions as some restrictions to stop the spread of Covid-19 were rolled back. The sector is still recovering from a rough winter, adding back positions that were lost rather than creating new jobs.

The unemployment rate — which only counts people who are actively seeking jobs and not those who have dropped out of the workforce entirely — inched down to 6.2% from 6.3% in January. It was forecast to stay flat.

Economists agree that the official jobless rate is likely under-reporting how many people are actually unemployed as a result of the pandemic.

Kyrsten Sinema faces backlash from progressives for opposing things she used to stand for.

For example, 4.2 million people who have dropped out of the labor force were prevented from looking for a new job due to the pandemic in February, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said.

"Today's report does show green shoots of recovery," said Daniel Zhao, senior economist at Glassdoor. "But I also think the report is a little bit weaker than the headline numbers show."

So Friday's good news is only part of the recovery story.

The unemployment rate falls to 6.2% and it was significant. This will be the official beginning of President Joe Biden's handling of the economy.

Since the pandemic wiped away 20.9 million jobs, the economy has been struggling to regain its footing. The failure to prepare for this global pandemic has ruined everything former president Donald J. Trump's done since he's entered the White House.

1. President Joe Biden is disappointed that the Senate parliamentarian declared the minimum wage increase proposed by the House will not be included in the American Rescue Plan.

2. Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) had appeared at a white nationalist conference while also attending the CPAC 2021 convention. Gosar, one of the members of the House who spoke at the "Stop the Steal" rally is fingered as one of the instigators of the insurrection. He collaborated with Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) and far-right agitator Ali Alexander. The feds are looking into whether lawmakers played a role in the insurrection.

3. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) didn't even stay in the Senate when the staffers read the 628 pages of the American Rescue Plan. The senator ran another filibuster on the legislation delaying it by 11 hours. The senator is hinting he may not seek reelection in 2022. He is considered one of the top priority candidates Democrats want to pick off in the Midterms.

Joe Manchin and Shelley Capito Moore are opposed to some of Biden's agenda.

4. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) has angered the progressives. The first term senator voted against changing the filibuster rules and opposed the minimum wage increase. The senator along with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) have played dirty bull when it comes to getting Biden's agenda done. The progressive members of the House has complained that these two and the Republicans are problematic to getting things done.

5. A former member of Trump's inner circle was arrested for his role in the insurrection. Frederico Klein was charged by the U.S. Justice Department. He was involved in hitting U.S. Capitol police with the riot shield and entered the building. He was a former State Department aide and former military veteran. He donated to the Trump campaign. The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

6. Puerto Rico's governor Pedro Pierluisi says the island is closer to statehood. A referendum passed saying that the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is one step closer to becoming the first state in over 60 years. The island is self-autonomous and has debated over whether to remain a part of the United States or claim independence. 

7. The George Floyd Police Reform bill and John Lewis Voting Rights bill have passed the House but face an uncertain future with the Senate. Republicans, Manchin and Sinema could fuck up the bill.

8. Demands for the U.S. territories to have voting rights in the presidential elections have grown recently. Many in Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands are demanding the federal government repeal the Insular Act which restricts non-native Americans from voting on U.S. territories.  

9. The Senate will be in split 50-50. The Georgia run offs were successful for the Democrats. Vice President Kamala Harris is the President of the Senate. She will be the deciding factor to Biden's agenda. The Senate Democrats hint that opposition to Biden when it comes to his Cabinet and federal judges will not be tolerated. 

 

10. The U.S. has nearly 80 million confirmed vaccinations for the coronavirus. There are over 50 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States. There are over 500,000 Americans who died from the coronavirus. The disease has spread across the states and many individuals are dying from it. 

Even in the minority, Mitch McConnell still controls the agenda.

11. Folks affected by COVID-19 are not working. Those who have worked a full-time job or multiple jobs are now forced off because of state order shutdowns. Some have worked one or more jobs to stay afloat. Conservatives have claimed that Americans who use the safety net are lazy. They now see the impact of Americans being laid off from their jobs (at no fault of their own). They still are trying to make the argument that folks who are now getting these checks are going to demand more. A measly $1,200 isn't going to help Americans spend. It's going to help them one time with bills and rent. They don't realize that many Americans are working more than 40 hours and are often staying longer hours or working a second job to pay rent, mortgage or vehicle expenses. Insurance rates are up due to former president Donald J. Trump rolling back regulations, eliminating the insurance mandate of the Affordable Care Act, and private insurance companies aren't paying for natural disasters and human based disasters. 

12. Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the European Union and Japan have temporarily banned Americans from entry. The United States extended its ban for travel to South Africa, Brazil and the United Kingdom due to the mutated strain of COVID-19. Migrants from Central America will not be allowed in the United States due to the pandemic. The far-right are making bogus claims that the Biden Administration is trying to allow migrants into the country with COVID-19.

13. The United States has confirmed that the Pfizer, Merdona and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available to the American public. There are still some who refuse to take the vaccine. Even though it's free and Biden said that by May most Americans will have access to it, the push for more vaccines to lower income and people of color is underway.

Now many facilities are dealing with the fallout of the coronavirus. They are setting up face guards, they reducing facility capacities, cutting hours and making mandatory distancing at businesses.

The American Rescue Plan is popular with the American public.

By that time, U.S. television shows will be permanently cancelled. There will be nearly 1.4 million Americans dead. There will be possible new strains entering the country and being immune to the coronavirus.

If things don't improve, we might call ourselves and endangered species. Trust me, the United States has for the first time had a slower birth rate. Our death rate has increased significantly.

Without a sense of irony, the folks over at Fox News are railing against Cuomo for the state allowing infected COVID-19 people stay with nursing home residents. Then the sexual harassment scandal plaguing the governor. With some on the far-left and many on the far-right wanting him to step down, Cuomo staying firm in place. 

Washed Up 45 has numerous scandals and accusations of sexual abuse. Did you hear that from the folks over at Murdoch's place?

Murdoch is about to appoint Lachlan to oversee the U.S. division. In a memo regarding the News Corp response to a Biden presidency, the eldest Murdoch son said at a Morgan Stanley conference that he is ready to be the "loyal opposition" to the 46th President of the United States.

Fox News and The New York Post are outlets for Republican propaganda. Well it was already an open secret but now it's expected that the White House will be taking questions from an outlet that devotes it time to covering conspiracy theories and pointless bullshit.

Murdoch's remark is an on-the-record acknowledgement of something that has long been obvious to fans and critics but never stated so publicly by the executive leadership itself — that Fox News is firmly aligned with Republicans and the right and intends to use its platform to fight Democrats.

The spin cycle. Sean "Softball" Hannity is the official screwball on Fox News and the mouthpiece of the Republican Party and Washed Up 45.

Fox News has sought to cater to a conservative audience since Murdoch's father, Rupert Murdoch, launched the cable channel in 1996 under the leadership of Roger Ailes, the network's CEO for two decades. Three of them — Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs and Jeanine Pirro — have been named in a $2.7 billion defamation lawsuit brought by the voting technology company Smartmatic over false statements they made while trying to cast doubt on the integrity of the 2020 election. All three have filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit.

Murdoch was asked about the network's ratings, which took a hit after the election. "Our audience was disappointed with the election results," he acknowledged, adding that the ratings had already started to normalize and would continue to go up.

"Seventy-five million people voted for a Republican president, sometimes in spite of his personality at times," Murdoch said. "That's what we represent. We're going to stick to the center-right. That's where our audience is."

Trump received 74.2 million votes.

Republicans seem to only care about Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Seuss, not wearing masks and keeping transgender children out of sports. They want to keep people from using mail-in ballots and prevent them from early voting. They want to keep the partisan bullshit going into the 2022 midterms and 2024 presidential election. They don't want to pass the minimum wage. They don't want to help those families struggling in a global pandemic.

So Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) is opposed to the American Rescue Plan forced senate staffers read the whole bill on the floor of the Senate last night.

The Wisconsin senator who wanted to gridlock the legislation forced a filibuster on the floor. With the Senate divided 50-50 with Vice President Kamala Harris to break the tie, the Senate is proceeding forward to pass the historic $1.9 trillion package that could help millions of families still reeling from the pandemic.

The reading of the legislation from front to end took about 11 hours and ended shortly after 2am.

Now on Friday, the Senate will debate on what amendments will be included into the package. This could drag on until Sunday.

President Joe Biden urges Congress to pass the legislation before March 14. The CARES Act funding will run out and many Americans out of work due to the pandemic will be thrown into chaos.

Biden should feel good about the polls. The Politico/Morning Consult poll suggest that 76% of all Americans support the legislation. It's even shocking that 60% of Republicans support the legislation.

So what's the reason for the opposition?

They want to not hand Biden a victory and they want to continue to push false narratives about the insurrection, the 2020 presidential election and Trump's handling of the pandemic and economy.

Biden also said that within 100 days, about 200 million Americans should be able to get vaccinations.

It far exceeds the 100 million Americans he promised would be able to get the vaccination.

Biden is hammered by the far-right and the so-called dirtbag left. The leftists are complaining that $1,400 stimulus checks for those making less than $80,000 is not enough. The leftists are complaining about Andrew Cuomo and threatening to primary conservative leaning Democrats like Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). 

Fuck the far-right fascists and the far-left socialists.

The most infamous figure in the January 6, 2021 insurrection became the news on Thursday. He made a completely ass of himself in federal court. The man, Richard "Bigo" Barnett is currently in federal time out awaiting his trial. He was acting like an entitled white privileged jackass.

He was complaining he's not being treated fair. 

"I've been here a long time -- another month --- it's not fair," he yelled at the federal judge. "You're letting everyone else out --- I need help."

The 60-year old Arkansas man made an appearance in front of U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington, DC via Zoom. While many aren't allowed to record the federal court trials, the trial was bonkers from the start.

The judge pushed off his decision to hold trial until May 4th, which set the bozo off.

The judge ignored the complaints. 

A federal magistrate judge U.S. District Chief Judge Beryl Howell was going to grant the fool a release but saw how unrepentant. He said that the dude is "entitled" and "dangerous."

This guy is one of the many who were caught in the  insurrection. He had a stun gun on him and stole property from her office. He literally called the first woman to hold the gavel as Speaker of the House, a nasty bitch.

Overnight, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives passed the H.R. 1, The John Lewis For The People Act. The bill will hopefully change the way Americans vote. It will be a sweeping voting and ethics legislation that could finally make voting fair.

House Resolution 1 passed with 220 to 210. The Democrats want to restrict partisan gerrymandering, strike down hurtles to voting registration and bring transparency to a murky campaign finance system that allows wealthy donors to anonymous bankroll political causes.

It appears that Republicans wants to make sure they'll stay in power for generations to come. They are trying to pass state legislation to keep voter turnout down and continue to push draceon laws to keep Americans from voting. 

Fear not, the Democrats are ready to sue if the state governors sign off the bills.

It was not a close election. Former president Donald J. Trump lost the electoral college and popular vote. 

Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA) sponsored the John Lewis Voting Rights bill.

The electoral college says that Joe Biden/Kamala Harris won 306 electoral votes and Donald J. Trump/Mike Pence won 232. Biden managed to win over 81 million votes to Trump's 74 million.

The largest turnout in the middle of a pandemic and global chaos.

Washed Up 45 continues to push the big lie. He claims that voting by mail and early voting is illegal and urges Republicans to take up the fight to stop  Trump and far-right Republicans continue to deny the fact that Biden won far and square.

It led to the insurrection which the Republicans want us to just ignore.

The January 6, 2021 insurrection was sparked by Trump and his allies in Washington and in the junk food media. They continued to push false claims that Georgia, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Nevada were conducting in voter fraud. Biden win flipped Arizona and Georgia. It gave the states two Democrats senators. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) and Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) beat Martha McSally and Kelly Loeffler, two deeply unpopular Republicans who were entangled with Trump.

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) went on to beat David Perdue and McSally the first time. 

This bill “will put a stop at the voter suppression that we’re seeing debated right now,” said Rep. Nikema Williams, a new congresswoman who represents the Georgia district that deceased voting rights champion John Lewis held for years. “This bill is the ‘Good Trouble’ he fought for his entire life.”

In a statement, Biden said he looked forward to refining the measure and hoped to sign it into law, calling it “landmark legislation” that is much needed “to repair and strengthen our democracy.”

To Republicans, however, it would give license to unwanted federal interference in states’ authority to conduct their own elections — ultimately benefiting Democrats through higher turnout, most notably among minorities.

“Democrats want to use their razor-thin majority not to pass bills to earn voters’ trust, but to ensure they don’t lose more seats in the next election,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said from the House floor Tuesday.

The measure has been a priority for Democrats since they won their House majority in 2018. But it has taken on added urgency in the wake of Trump’s false claims, which incited the deadly storming of the U.S. Capitol in January.

Courts and even Trump’s last attorney general, William Barr, found his claims about the election to be without merit. But, spurred on by those lies, state lawmakers across the U.S. have filed more than 200 bills in 43 states that would limit ballot access, according to a tally kept by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University.

In Iowa, the legislature voted to cut absentee and in-person early voting, while preventing local elections officials from setting up additional locations to make early voting easier. In Georgia, the House on Monday voted for legislation requiring identification to vote by mail that would also allow counties to cancel early in-person voting on Sundays, when many Black voters cast ballots after church.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court appeared ready to uphold voting restrictions in Arizona, which could make it harder to challenge state election laws in the future.

When asked why proponents sought to uphold the Arizona laws, which limit who can turn in absentee ballots and enable ballots to be thrown out if they are cast in the wrong precinct, a lawyer for the state’s Republican Party was stunningly clear.

“Because it puts us at a competitive disadvantage relative to Democrats,” said attorney Michael Carvin. “Politics is a zero-sum game.”

Battle lines are quickly being drawn by outside groups who plan to spend millions of dollars on advertising and outreach campaigns.

Pelosi vows to push Biden's agenda.

Republicans “are not even being coy about it. They are saying the ‘quiet parts’ out loud,” said Tiffany Muller, the president of End Citizens United, a left-leaning group that aims to curtail the influence of corporate money in politics. Her organization has launched a $10 million effort supporting the bill. “For them, this isn’t about protecting our democracy or protecting our elections. This is about pure partisan political gain.”

Conservatives, meanwhile, are mobilizing a $5 million pressure campaign, urging moderate Senate Democrats to oppose rule changes needed to pass the measure.

“H.R. 1 is not about making elections better,” said Ken Cuccinelli, a former Trump administration Homeland Security official who is leading the effort. “It’s about the opposite. It’s intended to dirty up elections.”

So what’s actually in the bill?

H.R. 1 would require states to automatically register eligible voters, as well as offer same-day registration. It would limit states’ ability to purge registered voters from their rolls and restore former felons’ voting rights. Among dozens of other provisions, it would also require states to offer 15 days of early voting and allow no-excuse absentee balloting.

On the cusp of a once-in-a-decade redrawing of congressional district boundaries, typically a fiercely partisan affair, the bill would mandate that nonpartisan commissions handle the process instead of state legislatures.

Many Republican opponents in Congress have focused on narrower aspects, like the creation of a public financing system for congressional campaigns that would be funded through fines and settlement proceeds raised from corporate bad actors.

They’ve also attacked an effort to revamp the federal government’s toothless elections cop. That agency, the Federal Election Commission, has been gripped by partisan deadlock for years, allowing campaign finance law violators to go mostly unchecked.

Another section that’s been a focus of Republican ire would force the disclosure of donors to “dark money” political groups, which are a magnet for wealthy interests looking to influence the political process while remaining anonymous.

Still, the biggest obstacles lie ahead in the Senate, which is split 50-50 between Republicans and Democrats.

On some legislation, it takes only 51 votes to pass, with Vice President Kamala Harris as the tiebreaker. 

On a deeply divisive bill like this one, they would need 60 votes under the Senate’s rules to overcome a Republican filibuster — a tally they are unlikely to reach.

Some Democrats have discussed options like lowering the threshold to break a filibuster, or creating a workaround that would allow priority legislation, including a separate John Lewis Voting Rights bill, to be exempt. Biden has been cool to filibuster reforms and Democratic congressional aides say the conversations are fluid but underway.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has not committed to a time frame but vowed “to figure out the best way to get big, bold action on a whole lot of fronts.”

He said: “We’re not going to be the legislative graveyard. ... People are going to be forced to vote on them, yes or no, on a whole lot of very important and serious issues.”

Overnight, the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives passed the George Floyd Police Reform bill. The vote came early this morning and the House had to adjourn for the next three days. The U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI have confirmed there is chatter among the social media that far-right extremists still salty that Donald J. Trump lost his election are plotting revenge on the Capitol.

Wednesday night the House passed the police reform bill that would ban chokeholds and overhaul qualified immunity protections for officers.

The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, H.R. 1280, was passed by the Democrats with no Republican support. The Republicans show that they're not for justice reform. One Republican did vote for the bill but changed his mind and the official record changed to reflect the opposition.

The House Democrats are going to push forth big bills and force the Senate to take up the matter.

Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) was the white nationalist who made a mistake. Yeah, a big mistake by not supporting reforms for all citizens brutalized by reckless cops.

They support the police only if it benefits their political gains. The "Blue Lives Matter" nonsense is farce.

The bill is named after the man who was placed on the ground with a dirty cop's knee on his neck. That move killed him and sparked days of unrest in Minneapolis/St. Paul. The dirty cop and three participating cops were arrested and criminally charged. The dirty cop himself is facing murder. 

They all could face 30 years in the iron college if convicted of state and federal crimes.

The bill is going to hopefully ban chokeholds, no knock warrants (on the federal level), and make changes to the qualified immunity doctrine. The doctrine would protect cops from lawsuits. If passed, the law could hold police officers accountable if they use deadly force on unarmed suspects or use their vehicles in dangerous pursuits which involve injury of the suspects or innocent victims. 

President Joe Biden supports the bill. The White House wants to build a trust between law enforcement agencies and communities of color.

Back in February, the son of Kansas City Chief's coach Andy Reid was involved in a serious car accident on Interstate 435 in Kansas City. The accident severely injured a 5-year old girl. The little girl was left with critical injuries and the family is demanding the state prosecute him.

NFL cut the coach Britt Reid.

Britt Reid was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he was driving his truck. He admitted to the law that he had a few drinks but refuses to take blame for the accident.

The young girl, now identified as Ariel Young is likely suffering from permanent brain damage. The family attorney said that she's "awake but unware." They fear she may never walk or have movement again.

Tom Porto is representing the family said to GMA in March that the February 4th crash was the fault of this man and wants the state to criminally charge him for reckless driving.

"She's awake, which is a huge development," Porto said. "She likely has permanent brain damage that she will endure for the rest of her life. She's not walking. It's a sad, sad, sad story."

Ariel was one of the three people --- including two children -- injured in the crash, three days before the Chiefs were to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa for Super Bowl LV.

Reid was removed from the rooster and later fired out the cannon weeks later.

The 35-year old said to the law that he had a few drinks and a prescription of Adderall. 

The Kansas City Police are investigating this incident and are considering filing charges.

Ariel Young was ignored by the junk food media. The little girl didn't deserve her fate. The reckless actions of a privileged son who seems to have no compassion nor care for this little child is infuriating.

I've said it many times, that being a privileged child is like being a potential criminal in waiting.

Ariel suffered massive injuries due to a drunk driver.

Former president Donald J. Trump hired his daughter Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner for roles in the White House. They have no political experience but had a role in the government. His oldest son, Donald, Jr. and youngest son Eric are running the Trump Organization. Eric's wife Lara and Donald's girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle are running a SuperPac for Trump. His youngest daughter Tiffany is getting paid for speeches while not disclosing. Trump barely spends time with his special needs son Barron.

They are privileged children. The washed up president is a privileged child himself. So it's no surprise.

Anyway, Britt Reid could face criminal charges which could take his license away. He could be spending time in the iron college for ten years. He will no longer be able to collect a pension from the NFL and be barred from contact with the victim's family.

The suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
