Louie Anderson Passed Away!

Louie Anderson was the underdog comedian.

Actor and comedian Louie Anderson has passed away. The entertainer is also a game show host and panelist. As many news outlets are reporting, the comedian has passed away at the age of 68.

He is best known for his blue collar comedy, sharp witts and honest opinion about his life. He was admitted in a Las Vegas hospital after being received cancer treatment. The Associated Press reported that he was hospitalized for cancer for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and was resting comfortably.

His publicist confirmed that he passed away on Friday. Variety and AP said that he died from complications from cancer.

Anderson got his break when he did his first performance on "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson.

He would appear in the Eddie Murphy/John Landis movie "Coming to America" and its Amazon/Paramount sequel "Coming 2 America."

He also starred and voiced the titular character of his animated sitcom "Life with Louie" which was based on his life growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota. He earned two Daytime Emmy awards for a performer in an animated program, as he voiced an 8-year old version of himself. He also had a sitcom on CBS called "The Louie Show" but it was cancelled after six episodes.

>He went on to host "Family Feud" after the series was cancelled and previous host Ray Combs committed suicide.

Anderson hosted the series for three years before he was replaced with Richard Karn. 

He also appeared on the FX comedy series "Baskets" which premiered in 2016, co-starring Zach Galifianakis character's mother for the show's run and won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2016. He was nominated twice in 2017 and 2018.

He also appeared as a panelist on Byron Allen's revival of "Funny You Should You Ask" with fellow comedians, Jon Lovitz, Jodi Miller and Whitney Cummings. 

Anderson was the second youngest of 11. He was born to Ora Z. Prouty (a descendant of The Mayflower) and Louis William Anderson.

He was briefly married to his high-school sweetheart in 1985. He also was a victim of blackmail.

A man who demanded money from Anderson. He threatened to expose him as gay for an incident in 1993 where he sexually propositioned him at a casino. The entertainer had paid hush money to the man.

His lawyers and publicist notified the law and he was arrested shortly after.
