Beloved legal analysis for MSNBC and CNN passed away at the age of 47. Her law firm and family confirmed that that Midwin Charles has passed away.

"It is with a profoundly heavy heart and the deepest sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Midwin Charles. She was known to many as a legal commentator on television but to us, she was a devoted daughter, aunt, niece, and cousin. Our lives are forever changed and we will miss her for a lifetime. The family thanks you in advance for your love and prayers," said the family in a statement.

The attorney's death was not mention but her family said that she was the founder of the law firm Midwin Charles & Associates, LLC and was a contributor to Essence Magazine.

She was a progressive agitator who often appeared on AM Joy, The Reidout and many other programs.

Sympathies were pouring out from Sonny Hostin, Joy Reid, Tiffany Cross, Laura Coates, Don Lemon, Yamiche Alcindor, Yvette Nicole Brown, Patricia Arquette and so many others.

Vice President Kamala Harris' sister and niece also shared their sympathies. Maya Harris, the vice president's sister and her daughter Meena offered their thoughts to their longtime friend and "sister."

White House Deputy Press Secretary and former progressive agitator Karine Jean-Pierre also shared her thoughts on her friend and fellow Haitian-American.

"This one hit really hard today. Rest in Power Sis, Midwin Charles," Jean-Pierre wrote on social media.

Charles was born in Brooklyn before earning her bachelor's degree from Syracuse University, then studying law at American University.

She founded her law firm, Midwin Charles & Associates in Brooklyn, New York. She has appeared on numerous programs on CNN, MSNBC, HLN, Court TV, Bloomberg and Newsone.

The cause of death has not been determined.
