Andy Harris Is Trying To Defy The Capitol Police Metal Detectors!

The Capitol Police are going to crack down on lawmakers who defy their orders. Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) tried to bring a firearm on the House chamber floor.

The Republicans are going to get a wake up call in 2022 if they don't pull their heads out their asses. They better get use to the new norms.

If the average American has to go through wands and metal detectors to get into airports, clubs and schools, they better get use to it if they want to be on the House and Senate floor.

The Republicans are screaming and pouting over the new rules imposed on the Capitol in the wake of the insurrection.

President Joe Biden has issued an executive order mandating that federal workers must wear mask in order to enter federal buildings and federal lands. American lawmakers are no longer allowed to be on the chambers' floors without facial masks.

They are no longer allowed to bring firearms into the chamber. They can allow the firearms in their offices though.

Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD), Rep. Lauren Boebart (R-CO), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and other Republicans are trying to defy the rules by staging stunts to show their base that they're still MAGA.

The House Speaker warned that insubordination will lead to fines and possible expulsion from the U.S. House of Representatives.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), the Karen QAnon lawmaker being patted down.

During a House vote Thursday afternoon, Harris was stopped at security and then immediately turned around. He briefly huddled with Rep. John Katko (R-NY) by the elevators and may have discussed the weapon with Katko, according to a report by HuffPost.

"One security official present saw a firearm on the person of Rep. Harris and relayed that to his superiors," a Capitol official told NBC News. "To be clear, Rep. Harris did not enter the Floor."

The metal detectors were ordered put in place after the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. They have become a flashpoint among some Republican members, and they have at times created tension with police.

Republican members have chafed at walking through magnetometers and submitting to hand wandings. At one door alone Thursday, at least a half-dozen evaded or brushed past officers, despite the threat of fines.

The Capitol official added that House members are allowed to carry firearms "in the halls and on Capitol grounds, including the Capitol Building but not the Floor," adding that "ammo has to be separately compartmentalized."

Harris' office responded to a request for comment overnight.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) grumbles as he goes through the metal detector.

"Because his and his family's lives have been threatened by someone who has been released awaiting trial, for security reasons, the Congressman never confirms whether he nor anyone else he's with are carrying a firearm for self-defense. As a matter of public record, he has a Maryland Handgun Permit. And the congressman always complies with the House metal detectors and wanding. The Congressman has never carried a firearm on the House floor," the statement said.

The insurrection which happened in early January led to five people being killed. Numerous supporters of former president Donald J. Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overthrow the Electoral College.

Trump whipped up the crowd to march to the Capitol to tell Americans to deny his successor the presidency.

They managed to break into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) office and stole property and left death threats. They also threatened former vice president Mike Pence and called him a traitor for not subverting the will of the American voters.

The insurrection led to Trump being impeached again and now the Senate will be handed the Articles of Impeachment on Monday by Pelosi. If convicted by the Senate, he will be forbidden from ever running from federal office, he will be held liable for the insurrection, he will lose his presidential pension, he will lose his U.S. Secret Service protection and he will be criminally charged in U.S. federal courts.

Pelosi has ordered that the House chamber has metal detectors.

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Minority Leader of the Senate wants to delay the trial. He urges the Speaker to deliver them in late January. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the Majority Leader of the Senate basically said the Senate can confirm nominees and still hold a trial. He said onward.

The Republicans are responsible for the unrest in America. Under Trump, the county has become bitterly divided. With this pandemic killing over 400,000 Americans, the Republicans continue to act like this is "business as usual" when it comes to rules.

They have signalled they're not going to support President Joe Biden's proposals to help Americans struggling through this pandemic. Americans have lost their jobs in this pandemic.

They got hefty medical bills, mortgages and rent to pay and bills to pay.

They are hungry and are struggling to feed their families.

Republicans are so emboldened on their white nationalist principles. They don't see that they're going to spark another insurrection by their inactions and their resistence to Biden.
