Vice President Kamala Harris is a member of a sorority and an alumni of the Historically Black College and Univerities. She is also grew up watching the NBC sitcom, "A Different World." Harris graduated from Howard University and is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She is the first African American, first Asian American and first woman to be the Vice President of the United States.

Harris identifies as a Black woman. She and Barack Obama are the first African Americans to hold titles as Vice President of the United States and President of the United States.

Harris invites Jasmine Guy, Chernele Brown, Kadeem Hardison, Cree Summer, Dawnn Lewis, Daryl M. Bell and Glynn Thuman to the White House. Debbie Allen and Susan Fales were also in attendance.
The sitcom, a spin off of The Cosby Show starred Lisa Bonet, Marisa Tomei, Jasmine Guy, Dawnn Lewis and Kadeem Hardison. The show was executive produced by Bill Cosby and Debbie Allen. The first season featured cameos from several of The Cosby Show cast. A spin-off of The Cosby Show, A Different World initially follows second eldest Huxtable child Denise (Lisa Bonet) after she leaves home to attend Hillman College, a fictional historically Black university in Virginia. There she meets an eclectic group of schoolmates.

In a revamp, the show fired Bonet after Cosby got angry over her pregnancy with Zoe Kravitz while married Lenny Kravitz.
Tomei was written out of the show.
Bonet would reappear on The Cosby Show for the remaining seasons on recurring status.
A Different World added Sinbad, Glynn Thurman, Cree Summer, Mary Alice, Lou Myers, Chernele Brown, Daryl M. Bell to the cast and it became a smash hit. The show lasted six seasons on NBC.

The Grio’s April Ryan shared a snippet of their White House visit on Instagram, which included Jean-Pierre leading the cast in a sing-along of the show’s iconic theme. While the show featured three different arrangements of the song across its six season run — with Phoebe Snow performing it in the first season and Boyz II Men stepping in for the final — the group opted for the version featured throughout the majority of the sitcom’s run, sung by the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin.
Cree Summer is a prominent voice actress who appeared on numerous animated shows and sitcoms. She is the daughter of Canadian American actor Don Francks.
Former president Donald J. Trump is trying to make a play for Black voters. He staged a visit at a Chick-fil-A and was greeted by Black Republicans. The Black vote has been at best 13% for Trump because Black men are swinging towards him.
Biden and Harris have to make more inroads to win the Black vote.
