Leap Day Centenarian Celebrates "25th Birthday!"

Oklahoma woman turns 100 on Leap Day. She has 25 actual birthdays.

If you were born on Feb. 29, you get to be one of the rare people to have an actual birthday every four years. Now normally, you may celebrate the birthday on Feb. 28 or Mar. 1. But on the actual day, it is an amazing feat of accomplishment.

Over hundreds of Americans have birthdays on Feb. 29.

Mary Lea Forsythe of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, will celebrate her 100th birthday on Thursday, despite only ever celebrating 25 actual birthdays.

Forsythe is a part of a rare group of people called leaplings, a name for those born on Feb. 29 or Leap Day. There are about 5 million people worldwide who share the leap birthday out of about 8 billion people on the planet.

Tulsa woman celebrates her "25th" birthday.

The 100-year-old was born on Feb. 29, 1924 — a date that only occurs every four years known as a leap year. Forsythe was recognized last week by the Centenarians of Oklahoma and highlighted on their social media page.

The centenarian is a passionate music fan and even plays the piano and mandolin, according to the post. She attended Sand Springs High School and was in the school's All State Chorus during all four years. Forsythe's favorite song is "Sitting at the Feet of Jesus."

Her 100th birthday celebration was hosted by the Osage Hills Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, ABC News reports. She is an active member of the organization.

Forsythe told ABC News that she would often celebrate her non-leap year birthday on days surrounding her birthdate, which would sometimes include her late husband's birthday, March 6.

Her husband was her high school sweetheart and they were married from 1942 until his death in 2011, ABC News reports.

Notable in the hip-hop world is the Queens-based rapper Ja Rule. He turns 48 years old [12 years old]. The rapper gained popularity in the late 1990s and had hits like "Mesmerize", "Between Me and You", "Holla, Holla", "Clap Back" and "I'm Real."

His career nosedived when he got into a longstanding feud with 50 Cent and his ally Eminem. He also felt backlash for being a figure in the infamous Fyre Festival. The concert was a shitshow and many attendees were robbed of their money and their chance to enjoy music from Ja Rule and promised acts.

Even on social media, the rapper still holds some animosity towards them.

The rapper was supposed to perform in the United Kingdom but is apparently denied entry due to his previous convictions on felonies in the United States.

50 being the social media troll was all over it. He even claimed to buy a handful of tickets to sabotage Ja's comeback tour. Ja was expected to perform with Mya, Lloyd and Keri Hilson.

Ja will be refocusing on trying to release his first album in 12 years. He last album Pain is Love 2 was released in 2012 on Empire Distribution and charted at 197 on the Billboard Top 200 albums. The rapper was sentenced for gun violations and tax evasion.

To this day, Ja Rule and Raymond Scott (formerly Benzino) became the victims of Eminem and his Shady Records crew. 50 signed to Dr. Dre and Eminem in 2002 and became one of the world's top performing acts of the 2000s.

Ja Rule will be a reminder of the Leap Day.
