Reckless Driving Lead To Six Construction Workers Killed!

A woman reckless weaving kills six construction workers.

Slow down in active construction zones. You can face criminal charges if you cause an accident, death or property damage in a construction zone.

Baltimore construction workers lost their lives in a horrific accident on Interstate 695. 

Six construction workers were killed in a work zone and the Maryland State Police are considering pressing criminal charges against the drivers who caused this.

On Wednesday, a major accident on the beltway around Baltimore. Maryland State Police said that the incident happened around 12:40 p.m. on the inner loop of I-695 at Security Boulevard. Trooper said the car involved went into the work zone, passing in between Jersey walls that were placed there temporarily, and hit construction workers. The car overturned. Medics took the driver of the car to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment.

Late in the day Wednesday, MSP said investigators believed that the driver of the car, Lisa Adrienna Lea, 54, of Randallstown tried to change lanes when she hit the front corner panel on the passenger side of another vehicle. The impact caused her to lose control of her car and head into the work zone.

The driver of the other vehicle pulled over north of the crash site after the vehicle became disabled. He said he was not hurt.

Thursday afternoon, Maryland State Police released the names of the six workers who died:Rolando Ruiz, 46, of Laurel,  Carlos Orlando Villatoro Escobar, 43, of Frederick,Jose Armando Escobar, 52, of Frederick, Mahlon Simmons III, 31, of Union Bridge, Mahlon Simmons II, 52, of Union Bridge, and Sybil Lee Dimaggio, 46, of Glen Burnie.
