Viola Davis In The EGOT Club!

Welcome to the EGOT club.

African American women are heroes.

Actress and activist Viola Davis won a Grammy on Sunday.

Her memoir, "Finding Me" won a Grammy as an audiobook.

She becomes the third Black woman to be in the club.

She is the latest entertainer to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony.

Richard Rodgers, Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, Audrey Hepburn, Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Tunick, Mel Brooks, Mike Nicholas, Whoopi Goldberg, Scott Rudin, Robert Lopez, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice, John Legend, Alan Menken and Jennifer Hudson.

Having an Academy Award (Oscar) is the most prestigious. Davis won for best supporting actress in 2017 for her role as housewife Rose Maxson in the 2016 film "Fences." She won an Emmy for the Shonda Rhimes crime drama series, "How to Get Away with Murder" playing Annalise Keating.

She won two Tony awards for "King Hedley" and the Broadway production of "Fences."

Congratulations to Viola Davis.

We are hoping for Jamie Foxx to punch his ticket into the EGOT club.
