Body Rot!

Regina Christophe passed away and the funeral home failed to give her a proper burial.

A New York family is suing a funeral home after they allowed a loved one become badly decomposed, maggots started coming out of the corpse.

Regina Christophe passed away in her sleep. They coroner has determined she passed away of natural causes. The coroner had released the body to the funeral home.

It appears that McManus Funeral Home was given the body but failed to put the proper chemicals into the body to prevent it from decomposition.

The funeral was held in July after the body was released in late June. By the time of the gathering to celebrate Regina's passing, they were horrified to see how deformed the body was. Her mother took a picture of her body with maggots crawling outside the head and ears.

Now they are pissed that the funeral home allowed this to happen. The funeral home claimed that they prolonged the process by allowing relatives from other states to clear their schedule to attend the funeral.

Graphic image of Regina was blurred out.

"Her face looked like it was caved in. Actually, looks like it was burned as fake skin was like melting off her face, one eye maggot came out of her eye," said her mother Chantel Jean. "The last image I saw was a monster in the casket."

"An animal deserve a better funeral than what my daughter received," she added.

The lawsuit claimed that she tried to contact the funeral home at the time to find out if everything was prepared. They claimed that it was still being prepared and they needed more time to get things ready.

They failed to embalm the body and allowed the decomposition process to happen within 10 days after the body was released.

The owner of the funeral home said that she failed to follow the guidelines to property funerals. He said that she was given ample warning to hold a funeral before it decomposed.

The family attorney said that it's time to hold them accountable.

What could happen next?
