The Golden Age of Hip-Hop lost a pioneer. The legendary rapper The Kangol Kid passed away from Stage IV cancer. The rapper known as Shaun Shiller Fequiere, died on Saturday peacefully at a local hospital in Manhasset, New York.

The Kangol Kid is a member of the iconic hip-hop group UTFO was 55 years old.

As one of the four members of the group, known as the Untouchable Force Organization (UTFO), the Kangol Kid left his mark on the early days of commercial hip-hop in the 1980s. He had the hit singles, "Roxanne, Roxanne" and "Ya Cold Wanna Be With Me."

He was known for rocking Kangol as his attire, the rapper was also helping to raise awareness to cancer. 

He had through the charitable group, Mama Luke Foundation.

He had colon cancer.

He was the first rapper to be honored by the American Cancer Society.
