King Richard is in theaters and on HBO Max.

Will Smith does a biopic of Richard Williams, father of tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams.

The movie King Richard is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and written by Zach Baylin. It follows the life of the American tennis coach Richard Williams. 

Venus and Serena Williams contributed to the biographical movie of their father Richard.

Will Smith, Venus Williams and Serena Williams are the executive producers of the movie. It stars Smith as Richard Williams, Aunjanue Ellis, Saniyya Sidney, Demi Singleton, Tony Goldwyn and Jon Bernthal.

The production companies Westbrook Studios owned by Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are majority along with Star Thrower Entertainment and Keepin' It Reel productions.

Williams, 79 was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. 

He is the father of nine and have six step-children.

The movie premiered at the 48th Telluride Film Festival on September 2 and then it was theatrically released on November 19, by Warner Bros. Pictures and on HBO Max on the same day. The film has received positive reviews and Smith's performance is garnering universal acclaim.
